MD Plumbing & Sewer

We called Mike and asked if he could come out to look at some plumbing issues. He said he would call back that afternoon and could possibly come out the next day......but he never called back. Too bad, given the great reviews we were hopeful that we had found someone who was responsive.

We had terrible hot water pressure in select locations through our new (old) home. After a nice conversation with the owner, Marc Duval 20mins after my original voicemail, we determined the most likely/easy solution would be to remove portions of old galvanized pipe. Marc suggested that this pipe is corroded and clogged. His team of two arrived promptly at 9am the following morning. After 15minutes of site review they agreed to Marc's original diagnosis. 3hrs and $450 later, the project was done - galvanized pipe in the basement is replaced with copper. We have fantastic hot water pressure throughout the house now. Thank you MD Plumbing - a great experience.

They were fine. The only thing is that they could have been a little more neat. They were thorough, but they seemed in a hurry. Overall, they did do a good job.

The plumbers arrived on time and spent the first 30 minutes trying to remove the cover on my catch basin that hadn't been removed, in their estimation, in 15-20 years. That alone should earn them an 'A' rating. Once the cover was off they cleaned the basin and rodded the sewer line to the street. They explained what they found in the basin and that there wasn't anything blocking the sewer. The bill and all the charges were shown to me and explained. Overall a very good experience.

Found MD Plumbing on the list. They are local, and I like to support local services and vendors when possible. I called MD and spoke with Marc. He gave me several suggestions over the phone as well as advising me that he was not very experienced with this particular brand of water heater. He made a late evening service call and could not get the heater working. He called the company, detailed the problem and they sent me "upgraded" replacement parts under warranty. The parts arrived late Friday evening and Marc agreed to come and install them on Saturday. The service was very courteous, very helpful, and seems to be high quality. I would definitely recommend them.

We just purchased an older (1925) home. We had to run the hot water for 10-15 minutes to get a hot shower going. Flow was very low in some parts of the home. The home inspector had pointed out that we had galvanized piping, which rusts and fills the pipes up with sediment. Some of the pipes removed indeed were so corroded that they appeared to be completely filled. The pipes were also a maze in the basement, with shut off valves everywhere. Now there are a few clean lines of piping--all copper. We get hot water almost instantly. The work took almost two days. MD Plumbing cleaned up all the debris and left my basement nice and clean. They were very nice to have around and seemed to be enjoying the work!

The experience went perfectly no problems or complaints.

Called Marc Duvall on Monday and he sent Sean Tuesday morning to fix the problem. Sean (like Marc) is very personable, friendly and professional. He replaced the flexible toilet water supply line, tightened the packing on the angle stop and tested it to ensure that it was no longer leaking. He was out the door in less than an hour.

Marc was very responsive, courteous and professional. He showed up on time, described the problem and suggested that he use compressed air to clean out the pipe versus a snake, since he would have to disassemble the entire pedestal sink to gain access. He discovered that the p-trap had a bolus of paint in it that caused the clog. Sink drain works fine now.

These guys saved me thousands of dollars! I had been told that I had broken sewer lines and needed to dig up the front yard and spend $4000. I called MD Plumbing for a second estimate for the dig. But Mark said he had great guys and equipment and he bet he could clear the lines with no digging. He was right!! The lines weren't broken, just very clogged. The workers came on time, got right to work, cleaned up afterwards. What's not to like? I can definitely recommend MD Plumbing.

My sewer in the basement had backed up three times in two years. The first time, another company rodded out the sewer. The last two times, MD Plumbing & Sewer rodded out the sewer line. During MD's first visit, they told me to switch to Scott 1000 toilet paper, which we did. The next time the basement flooded and MD rodded it out, they discovered the lint filter for my washing machine had a big hole in it and lint probably clogged the sewer line. They recommended that they come back at a later date to run a camera through the sewer line to see if a pipe is caved in or dislodged. I waited until spring time and had them come back to run the camera through the line. Two guys, plus Marc came to the house, ran the camera through and discovered an oddity in my sewer line... Something they've never seen before in the years they've been doing this work. They discovered the previous homeowner had put water piping in through an old boozy valve pit in the crawl space and into the sewer line for the purpose of flushing out the sewer line. At that point inside of the sewer, the sewer pipe dips down and debris collects there, eventually causing a sewer backup. Marc showed us how to hook up a hose to the water piping so we are able to flush the sewer OURSELVES every six months to prevent debris build up. This will be a big savings to us in the long run. All in all, Marc and his crew are very knowledgeable, trusting, friendly, professional -- THE BEST -- and I recommend them to everyone with sewer problems.

The drain in my basement was backing up when I did laundry. Called MD on a Sunday and they set up an appointment for the following day or so. Two plumbers came out and they were exactly on time-- which is a huge bonus in my book-- they asked me about the problem, noticed the flood control system, diagnosed that they blockage was from there and went to work. Finished the job in about an hour or so and were very professional and nice guys.

The owner's name is Mark Duvall. He is really very good. He is very personable. He is honest. He is outstanding. He generally tries to find the less expensive solution. He cleans our sewer every other year.

Just great. I asked for a hot water heater that was larger than my old one. The installation took a couple of hours. They cleaned up and showed me how to adjust the temperature of the water. They let my kid watch them work. It all cost less than I expected.

I've used them several times before, so it was no surprise to me that: 1) They showed up on time. 2) They were courteous and professional. 3) They were fast and thorough, cleaning both the clogged pipe and then again out to the street to ensure there were no other blockages. 4) They cleaned up after themselves. Additionally, they made a suggestion on how to prevent backup on our plumbing in the future that I need to follow up with them. The only bit of feedback I have for MD plumbing is to follow up when you say you'll call back with a quote for future work. They've forgotten twice. But I'm sure if I called and said I wanted to have it done, they'd be there quickly and would do an excellent job. Price is good for the level of service - not the cheapest but they are very professional and thorough so it's worth it.

They were well priced and it was fine. The work was good and I’d recommend them. I’d most likely use them again.

Our basement floor drain backed up with clean laundry water. The water slowly drained back down the sewer within one or two hours. We called MD Plumbing & Sewer because they have a very high rating on Angie's List. They weren't able to come out same day, but showed up on schedule at 12:30 p.m. the next day. Two men rodded out the sewer line from the bottom of our ejector pump flood control pit in the front lawn and out to the street, as well as back to the house. The drain in the basement floor was still clogged. Next, they rodded out the clean-out drain in the basement floor out to the main and that did the trick causing the water drained as it should. Total time from start to finish: 90 minutes. Both men were very pleasant and personable, and I wasn't afraid to have them in my house while I was home alone.

Marc fixed the problem quickly. He also told me that his rates had changed but since I didn’t know that he still charged me his old rate. A few weeks later I called him back to replace the shut off valve. He did a nice and clean job. I have had him do work for me before and I will likely hire him again.

This is an outstanding business, and our experience with them reinforces the importance of online reviews and recommendations. Marc and his people were expert, highly efficient, and professional. The job was completed quickly and was done well. They coordinated their work with a fairly large landscaping project going on at the same time, and their price was fair. We have a number of other plumbing projects to be completed, and will ask Marc’s advice on them. It's fair to say we have a new plumber. I recommend them very highly.

The plumber was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. It was a pleasure to work with him.

I felt good about the estimate given by Marc, and the crew began rodding with a 6" head until they got "stuck" when they switched to a smaller head which cleared the way for the larger head to be reinserted. Tree roots were removed and the catch basin was also cleaned. it took them slightly over 3 hours and I feel that our association go their money's worth.

I called them to help clean the external drains into the sewers from the rain gutters. They were able to schedule some time within a couple of days. The drains were full of dirt and plants from years of poor maintenance by the previous owners. They were able to clean out the ones I needed opened. At the same time the sump pump needed to be looked it as it was turning on and off randomly. It turns out they needed to replace it. They replaced it with a unit that was actually cheaper than the sump pump I saw at Home Depot that appeared to be inferior quality to the one I got.

Marc and his brother did a great job and were very easy to work with. They worked efficiently and quickly. Everything they installed looks great and works well. They were even able to unclog a tub drain that another plumber could not unclog and told us we would have to rip out ceiling and walls to fix. So, overall, we were very happy with their work, and we plan to call them again if we have other plumbing issues.

Marc and his brother and workers did a very thorough rodding of our sewer line from two different clean outs. Because of their competence, we asked them to create a contract for bypassing our old catch basin. They suggested a clean out be kept open from the catch basin as we have a giant tree adjacent to the house. They rerouted the pipes in the basement to bypass the catch basin exit. Because it took less time than anticipated, they reduced the price! Another day they returned to climb down into the catch basin, a gross mucky mess about 8 feet down and 2 feet of sludge after that. They completed the job with good graces and only charged $400. They left the clean out above grade and will return to cut it to size after we have a new sidewalk put in. They will use a brass top that will be flush with the sidewalk. I felt confident that this company knows what they are doing and would recommend them without reservation.

I was having my tub reglazed while I was at work and my son was at home to be there for the tub refinisher guy-the tub became clogged and in turn the clean out on the floor started to over flow and the bathroom sink became clogged. the Tub re glaze guy tried to fix the prob but could not. From work I called 4 other companies on Angie's List one company wanted $49 to walk in the door and $246 for the first hour and that was for the next day during normal business hours. All the companies that I contacted wanted me to use emergency" time and half "service for later in the day(I was calling around at 1 in the afternoon) One company told me they could do it and they would call me back, but after waiting almost 2 hours and still not getting a call back I called them to have the lady tell me there was nothing they could do for me-she said they did not want to tell me no in the beginning because they never say no to new business!-MD Plumbing answered the phone when I called responded within 2 hours of my call, repaired the problem in one hour and charged me a very fair price that was not an emergency rate-they are Rock Stars!- I never had to come home from work they just handled the problem, delt with my son and cleaned up the mess! I would totally recommend MD Plumbing.
