Excellent workmanship

From start to finish, I am very satisfied with my experience with K&S General Contracting. We had our entire roof and siding replaced by the company. K&S is a family owned and operated business that truly values its customers. TJ did a wonderful job walking me through the details of the project, including the materials that would be used and the cost of the projects. He was very patient as I worked through selecting our color scheme, assisting but not pressuring me to make a selection that would be convenient for the company (as other contractors had tried to do). In addition, TJ was quick to respond to texts, calls and any concerns I raised. Katie who handled the financial side of the project, was responsive and patient. She handled the numerous calls and requests made by my insurance and mortgage companies promptly and professionally. What I ultimately paid was the exact amount that I was quoted. With an abundance of "storm chasers" ready and willing to take your money for subpar workmanship, I am very glad I did my research and selected K&S. Thanks to their hard work, we ended up with a beautifully transformed home! I highly recommend K&S General Contracting!

Asphalt shingle roof was damaged in late winter storms. Took quotes from roofers recommended to me. K&S was very responsive, provided a complete & reasonable quote and worked with me to modify their standard quote to provide some upgrades. The chimney had to be rebuilt before the reroofing could commence. Due to uncooperative weather, the mason was delayed-pushing back the start of the project. K&S kept me informed of everything so as not to inconvenience us & our neighbors. Due to continuing bad weather, the project took a bit longer than originally figured. K&S crew made sure that they did not remove more of the old roof than they could get shingled before any predicted/unpredicted weather moved in. The roofing supply company substituted a different manufacturer (still a quality product) for the contracted ridge vent. K&S returned the substitution & installed the contracted product because they felt that it is a higher quality material.

I contacted the provider about a small roofing repair job. They provided me a proposal, and then a week later, an official contract for the work. I informed them of a misspelling with my name on the contract, and could it be corrected. Two weeks later, after several calls to their office and some unanswered Angie's List messages, the provider informed me that they don't have time for my job. Despite the contract. Despite the proposal. A complete failure of a company when it comes to communication and customer service.

K&S were very easy to work with and kept us informed of what was going to happen from start to finish. The roofing crew were on time and very professional and cleaned up very good when they were thru with the job. I would recommend them to friends and nieghbors.

Steve and his crew were awesome. On time, hard working, they showed their expertise in what they do. Katie worked with us on financing. We couldn't be happier. Our house couldn't look better! We LOVE Katie and Steve! Drive by, 315 N. Broadview, Lombard, IL their work is stellar!

We used K&S General Contracting for the replacement of all windows on the front of our house. We were very happy with their service and customer communications. When a manufacturing defect was found on one of the windows, K&S worked with the window manufacturer to get the issue resolved in a very timely manner. We would gladly use them again for future projects.

Just had K&S Roofing complete a tear off and re-roof yesterday. Couldn't be more thrilled or say enough kind things about the company and the owners, Steve and Katie. I wish every contractor operated the way these guys do... with honesty, integrity and nonstop professionalism and skill. We have had so many bad experiences with contractors in the past that K&S was a Heaven send. I had received a couple of other roofing quotes prior to meeting Steve. His quote was just slightly higher, but when he walked me through the quality of materials (the shingles, underlayment, ice barrier, ridge vent, etc.) and the incredible life time warranty and the skill of his crew, I was sold. I did a lot of research on the company and they have a great reputation. The nominal difference was completely worth it and will more than pay for itself in the long run. Katie manages the office and was extremely knowledgeable, kind and organized. I loved that she was able to answer technical questions about building codes and materials. It made things much more efficient and made me even more confident in their company. I went from contacting them for a quote to having a gorgeous finished roof in under a week and a half. When I met Steve, he was wonderful. He definitely knows his business. He came out within 2 days of my request for a quote. What I love about the company is that each house is special to them. They don't seem to be one of these mass roofing companies that hire out unknown subcontractors in hopes of huge turnover. Steve was meticulous in explaining our requirements and the process as well as the lifetime warranty. It is also a multi-generational business so I know they will be around a long time to help work out any warranty issues. You can tell he takes incredible pride in his company's work. Unfortunately, you just don't see enough of that anymore. Steve and Katie just struck me as "salt of the earth" kind of people. Very ethical and honest. Another huge selling point for me was that they have been using the same crew of workers for years and years and it showed (I think Steve said he's had the same crew for 20 years). These installers were top notch. They were the most efficient group of contractors I've ever seen. They completed our entire roof within one day and it wasn't because they took short cuts. They just really knew what they were doing and had a lot of guys. We have enough experience to know that when we look at our new roof vs. some of our neighbors' new installs, ours is so much more professionally done. That skill set plus the quality of these shingles make our house look amazing. The shingles certainly seem a higher quality than the ones I was quoted on before. They have a much more of a 3 dimensional and heavy quality look to them. It definitely shows in the finished product. I never thought I would be so excited over a roof!! I have had multiple neighbors compliment it already. Thank you Steve and Katie. I don't think I will ever need another roof in my lifetime but I would use you guys again in a heartbeat. You guys are the best! Thank you!!!!

Steve was very professional. He, took time to discuss types of tiles, colors and insurance issues with us and followed up on those issues promptly. The workers were knowledgeable, courteous and efficient. They cleaned up after themselves at the end of their shift so that you wouldn't know that anything happened unless you saw our beautiful new roof. Love the service and Steve!

They were on time, made sure the shingles on the shed matched the shingles on our roof. Cleaned up the materials very well and came out when the weather was getting bad. Everyone we spoke to was very pleasant and accommodating. Would highly recommend.

The service went great. Two technicians came out and completed the roofing in about 2-3 days. The staff was very friendly and willing to work with us in any issues. They were very professional and put together a nice portfolio for us. The pricing was well worth the quality of service. The owners, Katie and Steve, were very nice. I asked the staff to clean up the yard and they did so without any issues. I had no problem scheduling the service.

There is an old adage, “The customer isn’t always right, but he is always the customer.” I must admit that I liked the owner Steve very much. I felt he is very knowledgeable and a honest businessman. The quote that he sent me was right in the ball park with the others bids received. In fact I had already decided to go with him and in my mind I had already written out my deposit check. Before sealing the deal, I had couple of questions that I needed answered and sent an email. I am very busy with my work, and I do not have a lot of time to chat… So I requested a reply by email. I was informed that Steve is “Old School” and only likes to deal in person or over the phone. Customer service is a very big deal for me. If I am the customer and if I would like to communicate via email, then the vendor should respect my wishes. Like I mentioned, I am sure he is a great contractor and is very reputable, his idea of customer service and mine are just very different.

They were professional, timely and overall good people. Even after a bad bundle of shingles caused some issues, they were responsive and got the manufacturer rep out to get the problem resolved. They went out of their way to make sure that the new shingles matched what had already been installed. They are wonderful people to work with and the workmanship of their employees is stellar. We would use them again.

It was fantastic, great crew, and great people to work with. Tremendous customer service, they explained everything they were doing. I highly recommend them.
