After intelligently buying appliances prior to measuring the space they would occupy in a new house, I realized I would need my over-refrigerator cabinet either raised or trimmed to accommodate a 28 cu. ft. monster refrigerator. After several unsuccessful attempts to hire a handyman/custom cabinet contractor (including a suggestion that I "find a different refrigerator"... ok clearly I wanted this one, why would I be calling) I found Handy to Have Around. Craig was prompt and professional from the first phone call to the end of the job. He quoted the best price by a very hefty margin which initially concerned me about quality, however the end result was so great that I can't imagine what anyone else could have done to justify a higher quote. Craig treated my home like his own, and went the extra mile to ensure that my cabinets looked as though they had never been altered and WOW does it show (see pictures). It's hard these days to find individuals conducting business who are trustworthy with a high level of integrity and I can't more highly recommend Handy to Have Around. Even with some unforeseen obstacles, my original price wasn't altered mid-job which I'm almost certain would have happened with anyone else. He is customer-service oriented and knowledgeable on a wide range of home maintenance and repair issues. He came to my house and consulted with me on solutions and offered some good cost saving alternatives, then gave me a reasonable quote, broken down by labor and materials to do the work. He showed up exactly on time and not only did what I originally contracted him for, he also adjusted his schedule to address a few other issues for me while he was there and advised me on some things regarding preparing my house for sale. He's thoughtful, skillful, careful, clean and doesn't take short-cuts on his work. I've dealt with other "handymen" in the past, but Craig is heads and shoulders above the rest - he's not your typical handyman. He is a consummate professional, and just a good honest hard-working guy. He's DEFINITELY Handy to Have Around, and I can't recommend him highly enough. !

Hired Craig to remodel the third bathroom in our house after he already did the first two. As always, the work was impeccable and he was able to take the time to think of ways to come up with alternative solutions when unexpected problems presented themselves. Craig installed new GFCI outlet, replaced two shutoff valves, replaced the subfloor and installed ceramic tiles on floor and shower walls, installed vanity and light fixtures, replaced the shower door, grouted and painted. We hire Craig because we are not always sure of how to go about what we want to do and he is always patient and flexible to accommodate us. This is at least the fifth time we had him do work on our house. Will definitely hire him again.

Craig has done a variety of work for us. He is reliable, conscientious and does great work. Even when we have a project that he's never tackled before, he asks thoughtful questions, we develop a plan and he executes with precision. He built me a beautiful board and batten wall for my front entryway; installed detailed trim work for my front doors; installed new lighting; installed new doorbells; patched dry wall; installed a new mailbox; and the list goes on and on. We've leveraged him multiple times and we have also recommended him to several family members.

Fantastic. Craig installed new electrical outlet and ceiling fan where there were none, new ceramic tile on floor and bathtub wall, carried up the stairs and installed 60 inch vanity and top, repaired drywall, painted, caulked, grouted. He did everything but install a new bathtub with plumbing modifications since it was a new size and shape; however, he provided an estimate of how much it would cost. Also did other small tasks associated with the remodel. There were a few times we had to have Craig wait due to late deliveries or needing damaged products resent. This was where it was great to have someone do the work that had a flexible schedule to allow for these delays.

Craig showed up on time and was very consultative with me on how to repair a door lock in an entry door that was 30+ years old. We didn't have the right part to repair but he offered me a few suggestions to find a specialist and what to look for in finding the appropriate repair part. This guy is definitely going on my "call first" list for future repairs. I trust him.

I have an external outlet. I hired Craig to extend 2 outdoor electrical boxes from that outlet to my flowerbeds. I had Schedule 40 PVC laid down to code with leader lines when I had my patio redone. He came for an estimate, where we discussed the scope of work and the materials he would use. He charge me the agreed upon price when the job was done. I have attached photos of before and after. Craig was very prompt, professional and easy to talk to about the job. I was extremely satisfied with the work he did and will gladly hire him again for other electrical work.

Excellent responsiveness and promptness on days doing the work. Very well. He ran into problems with existing wiring but fixed it and set up everything very well. Had problems with deck outlets that were replaced. Left no mess and all working as requested.

I couldn't be more pleased with Craig. He was fast and efficient and worked very clean. He scheduled his visits within our time frames and showed up when he said he would. His performance and pricing were great. On top of it all he is a truly nice guy. I would hire him again in a heartbeat for just about anything. The main reason we called Craig was due to a malfunctioning ceiling track light. A licensed electrician, Craig spent over two hours troubleshooting and finally determined that the track itself was done for. He advised me what to buy and arranged to come back another day to install it. He did not charge extra for the troubleshooting time. Another project was to install a new exterior storm door I had purchased from Lowes. He did so professionally and the door hangs perfectly. Craig also hauled the old door away. A third project was to prime and paint the ceiling of our kitchen and den, which had been repaired after water damage from a pipe leak upstairs but never painted. The ceiling looks beautiful. Another small project was to repair damage to the wallboard in an upstairs bathroom. Finally, during the week this work was going on a wire organizer in our master closet ripped right out of the wall and collapsed. Craig determined that the studs inside the wall were not standard (the wall was just a partition and not a structural wall) and so he installed an anchor 1 x 2 across the wall and secured it firmly to the studs, then re-installed the organizer to that. I believe it is now as strong as it can be.

The electrician was prompt and courteous. He not only fixed my problem, but explained why I had the problem in the first place. I will definitely call him again if I need to.
