They not only did a great job with the roof, but the cleanup was excellent. I've fought ice damming since I've owned the house, and Steve was very willing to go the extra mile and add another layer of ice/water shield to help alleviate any future issues. I also very much appreciated the fact that they estimated my detached garage and house separately--and the fact that they were up front with me in telling me the garage shingles didn't need to be replaced (and he wouldn't do so now if it was his money). That comment, on top of a competitive bid and great service, drove me to pick Preferred from the other bids I'd received. I'm thrilled with the work, and will definitely recommend Preferred to others!

Very professional and informative. They came out on a Saturday and tore off the old roof and installed the new roof and were done in about 6 hours! The roof looks great! Would highly recommend Preferred Roofing. I chose three company's from Angie's list for bids for the roof, Preferred Roofing was not the lowest bid but was the most informative and professional. Steve and Fred are terrific and did a great job for me. Had used them before on a much larger project, a full roof replacement. They are attentive to small jobs as well as large ones. No hesitation in recommending them!!

Steve was very responsive throughout the entire process. We received multiple quotes from a range of contractors and Steve was the first to fully inspect the system which included a review from the attic. The work is performed directly by his employees which he personally oversaw.

I got three estimates. Preferred Roofing and Exteriors was the only one that actually went up on the roof before giving me an estimate instead of using Google Maps. They were the only ones that seemed like they were not trying to sell a specific product. They wanted to deliver to me a new roof with out breaking my bank. They made all appointments scheduled, they were friendly. I would definitely use them again.

Tore off roof, didn't protect tomato garden and tomato cages and tomatoes. Tar marks on siding and tore a screen. Was compensated for screen. Cleanup was not satisfactory and they sent a guy back when done to rectify. All these things I could deal with. The issue I have is that after tearoff the wood siding that was exposed was obviously rotten. Siding was also bad on dormer valleys. When roof was torn off some of the trim that was bad fell off. Not their fault, it was bad and needed replacement. My issue is that I wasn't notified or told of this. I found out the next big rain when dormers leaked into house. I realize they weren't hired to repair dormers. It's a two story home and something I couldn't initially identify from ground. I would liked to have thought someone would have brought this to my attention. The Dormer valleys are leaking, and today I have a different outfit coming to repair as well as repair siding. Pretty much everywhere siding meets roofline is being repaired. The house didnt leak before the tearoff, granted the wood was rotten and needed to be replaced. They never told me anything about this trim that was falling off or that i needed it replaced. There only concern was shingling the roof. As for them calling themselves Preferred Roofing and Exteriors? I guess that's misleading because they don't do anything other than roofs.. Finally the dormers all have metal roofs. They were in bad shape and the roofer said he didn't repair these. So I hired another crew to come and fix what should have been done in the first place.

An odd disjointed experience.

Overall response was very good. Job well done in record timing. I had part of my roof replaced due to wind damage and leaks and some small localized shingles replaced. They did the repairs in half a day! Professional all around. Knowledgeable and they only fixed what needed fixing and didn't push a whole roof repair! If I had to do it over I would call them! Highly recommended!

Went great overall! Free quote took about an hour an a half, most complete inspection of any estimate I received. Complete project (on a 1,000 sq ft ranch) took one day start to finish. Very good job overall, looks great and the people were great to deal with! Price was a bit higher than the other quotes, but not much, and the service was better overall.

From start to finish, this job was done in a professional manner. Great care was taken to ensure that my house and landscaping was protected. Steve (owner) personally supervised the project and took the time to answer all of my questions (and I had a lot of them!) before, during and after the project. The roof looks great and seems to be of a high quality - no problems so far. There are a few shingles that have not yet laid completely flat (after 2 days), but Steve assured me that is normal and will be completely flat (from heat and gravity) in month or less (and that they would come back to correct if any do not lay flat after a month). This was the first time that I needed to have home work done related to an insurance claim, so honestly I did not know what to expect from this industry. What came to my doorstep seemed to be mostly questionable "storm chasers" types, many of which were not local and seemed only interested in knowing how much money the insurance company was paying out to cover the damage. So, I thought to myself, why do they want to know how much the ins company was paying? Shouldn't they honestly determine what my job should cost to do correctly and how much margin they would target making - regardless of ins numbers? Preferred never asked to see the ins numbers during the estimate, so I felt that they were truly looking to do an honest repair to my home regardless of what ins may or may not have covered. One other note - the roofing crew did accidentally damage my garden's above ground watering pipe, but Steve arranged to send out a plumber the very next morning to fix it! Nice job!

After a freak Hail storm in July, our home was destroyed by hail measuring as big as softballs. Our roofing and siding needed to be replaced. We called Steve Case with PRE on Thursday. He went over every line item on an Insurance Adjuster's Report, He was very thorough, and professional. He answered all our questions, he had roofing shingle samples and siding samples. Steve was very easy to work with, very professional, pleasant and excited for the opportunity to help make our home repairs. We signed an agreement on Thursday, Materials were delivered on Friday and work began on Monday morning! Very clean crew of strong young men arrived early to start stripping roof on house and garage. They were NOT LAZY !! The crew was respectful of our landscaping, putting tarps down to catch any falling debris. The work on our house roof and garage roof was completed by the end of the same day, Clean up and all ! Tuesday morning brought another crew of workers who began stripping our home of the damaged aluminum siding. Again, tarps were placed around the house to catch debris. Couldn't get over the work ethic of these young men. Again, NOT LAZY !!! All of the siding was replaced on the house and garage. Windows were wrapped and new facia was installed. The work on our home and garage was completed by the end of the day on Tuesday! While other home owners are being told by " Fly by nighter companies" they will try to get to their homes by Spring Time 2016, Our work was completed from start to finish within 6 days of meeting with Steve!! Would recommend Steve Case of Preferred Roofing and Exteriors without hesitation. Our home is beautiful again.

Steve (owner) was very prompt; initial response was quick, inspection, proposal and work completed within 5 business days. We needed the work done quickly due to upcoming sale of property.

Initially we had an area in the upstairs ceiling where you could tell there was recent water damage and the drywall tape was showing through the paint. Concerned with an expensive water repair I called Steve Case at 5 pm and he was at our house in a couple hours to access the severity. Steve found the issue via the attic even though the leak wasn't obvious. The Weather was favorable (no rain) that night so we were able to hold off on the repair, but Steve had someone over the next day with the replacement boot and fixed the leak. We also had a large picture window that had lost it seal and was becoming more and more hazy. Steve gave us a quote the same day as the repair. He also gave us additional options on how to address other windows, even when it wasn?t giving his business additional jobs/cash? shows how authentic he is. When we were ready to go forward and get the window replaced I called Steve and he ordered the window. When the window came in Steve called me and we scheduled the day of the install. All work was done on time with quality. I have used Steve in the past? and if needed I will hire him again. So if you are looking for someone who is honest, knowledgeable and upfront? ... Steve?s your man.

Steve, his crew and subcontractors were terrific in every respect. Everything around the house that needed to be protected during removal of the old roof and installation of the new was taken care of. All debris and waste was handled in process. Their work and work ethic was terrific. They were professional and knew what they were doing in every step of the process. Nothing was left to chance, everything agreed to was completed, and the entire experience was rewarding. I highly recommend Steve ad his company to any and all who may need roofing services. Steve is a good guy!!!

Contacted Preferred Roofing they were quick to respond and very knowledgeable and pricing was very competitive. They were very organized and efficient and did a fantastic job of cleaning up afterwards. I would definitely use them again

This company is amazing! The owner came out and provided us an estimate the same day. When it came to the day to have the work done, everyone showed up exactly on time, and replaced my entire roof in one day. They were extremely professional and friendly. Cleaned up everything and left my yard looking the same way it was before they got there. I would DEFINITELY use them again. Thank you so much for all your help

After some initial delays, the workers worked hard and got the (big!) job done in a timely manner and cleaned up well. The roof leaked with the next rain and we had to call them out to fix their work twice for leaks in the same area within a couple months. As a result of the leaks (which didn't leak before the roof was replaced), there were watermarks on the cedar plank ceilings, which Preferred saw, took pictures, and did not address or fix. Also unfortunately, the workers tore a screen on our screened in porch, and it took more than a half dozen calls and eight months for them to fix it. We sold the house last month and now - fifteen months after the new roof was installed - the new owners are saying the roof is leaking again. Just unacceptable. They seemed very nice, but ended up being non-responsive, expensive, and not quality work.

They were prompt. Came when they said they would. Took great care to make sure they left no debris behind. Very professional . A++ I would recommend them to everyone.

The job was done professionally and quickly. Steve's crew is excellent. They covered my plantings and none off our flowers or plantings were damaged. He comes out to inspect job and take care of any problems promptly. It is wonderful to deal with someone who is professional and who stands by his word.

I met Steve two years ago when I was selling a second home and the seller's inspector said the home needed a new roof. I asked him to look at our primary home as well since I thought it was due. Steve inspected the roof and said it could go a another couple of years with some minor repairs. He sent guys the next morning (Sunday to complete the repairs. Given he could of told me I needed a new roof and didn't, I kept his card until it was time to inspect again. Two years later, Steve came out last Friday to inspect the roof again. This time the roof was ready to be replaced. Steve quoted what I felt was a good price for our 3,300 sq ft roof which is relatively steep. The price also included replacing two skylights. I agreed to move forward and we scheduled for the next Wednesday. With the frequent rains this year, Steve said he would try to complete in a day. Steve had two crews show up the following Wednesday to complete the work. We have a Dryvit house so the crew put up extra tarps protect the siding. The crews worked hard but still had a couple lower roofs to finish towards the end of the day. Steve showed up and had the crew's work to complete everything by 7:30 that evening. The clean up was great and the roof looks great. I reached out to Steve twice with some follow up issues and received no response.

Provider contacted me in a timely fashion Arranged for a scheduled meet Cancelled meet sort of last minute Told me if I wanted to pursue services to contact him I had water coming in due to roofing issue - so I had a need.. I temporarily 'patched'..

Working with Preferred was an absolute pleasure. These guys know their stuff (they are problem solvers) and genuinely care about their customers. From the first call they were easy to work with, polite, and accommodating. They are incredibly knowledgeable about working with insurance companies (in fact, they successfully handled our claim directly with our provider). Most importantly, they delivered high quality work at a great value. Charlie was attentive and answered all of our questions. The work was performed neatly and quickly. WE HAVE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THEM TO OTHERS AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO!

Called and faxed insurance and bank paperwork. Steve was there the next day with all bank paperwork filled out. Steve had places to for us to sign. One paper needed noterization and said Steve would be back at 6pm. Steve was back the next day right on time. He has gotten and taken care of everything. BIG BIG HELP!!! I would have them do work for us any time. As far as i am concerned Steve's company was A++++++++.

These guys did my tear-off and re-roof exactly like I wanted it done. I had several upgrades included in my price, such as 6' Ft of Ice and Water-shield, they introduced me to a synthetic felt versus traditional, installed roof cap vent sand a solar attic fan, gave me shingles rated for hurricane zones, new 3/4" plywood sheathing on garage roof. This job took them two days and 18 people but they did it fast, correct, and clean......I have no complaints about their staff or there work......Great job. Mark
