Very pleased with the process and results. Eric is a true professional and easy to work with. He provided detailed estimates within 24 hours of our requests and was very responsive to our phone calls, emails and questions, which, after working with many other contractors, is quite refreshing. The work was completed in an efficient manner and the job site was clean at the end of each day. Eric noticed that my wife was struggling to walk due to a recent surgery and offered to build a larger, more manageable step to safely enter the house - she's thrilled! Eric has a busy schedule and we had to wait longer than we would have liked, but it was worth it to get the level of professionalism and quality he delivered.

Eric is a wonderful contractor to work wih! He worked around our ideas, schedule, issues with Direct Buy, even my older dog! His work ethic is excellent, his communication was very timely, he cleaned up the "job site" every evening (and ours was a very big, messy project). We love our new kitchen!!

We showed Eric our completely bare and unfinished basement and he was able to come up with some ideas and recommendations and submitted his estimate. We asked for estimates from a number of contractors and Eric's was one of the best. We liked that he did not ask for any deposits and up-front payments as we had heard about some other people's bad experiences with that. Eric was honest and the whole process was pretty seamless. We paid a $1,000 at the end of the first workday and then progress payments weekly. The price included all the labor and materials except the bathroom tiles and fixtures and the carpet, which is understandable as there is so much difference in prices depending on the selections. (The price did include the labor installing the tile and fixtures but the carpet and installations were supplied by a different contractor.) We are very happy with the results and already asked Eric to do some additional work on our house.

Eric did it all. He was here approx 6-8 days. He is very knowledgeable "covers all the bases type of contractor. He comes early around 8 - 8:30 and most nights stayed until 5 or later depending on what needed to be accomplished. Nice guy with excellent work ethics. We felt his price was very good, considering the many skills required to complete this job. Also just Eric, not a lot of people running about which made things calmer. This construction work going on in the house can be quite stressful. Eric was a PRO!! Will hire again. Cleaned up tools every evening, protected floors and furniture. Oh, he also replaced the kitchen faucet when he saw how little water pressure we had. Everything is better.

Eric is a pleasure to work with. He is responsive, fair, and has great suggestions. Our project started out with only a few items for him to do and it turned into him facilitating a full house gut renovation. His tile work in particular is spectacular, but his work as a whole is impeccable and I can't say enough good things about him. He did such a range of jobs, it's hard to list them all here. We purchased most materials and he installed everything, including the bathroom cabinets and countertops, toilets, light fixtures and moved some outlets. We will definitely be working with him in the future. We already have some spring projects in mind.

Awesome job overall. Initial contact was fast, quote was fast, price very good/competitive, job was done to meet our short time frame, quality, work service, etc. He works diligently to get the job done. Great communication too. I could go on, but Eric is great to work with. Eric is a very talented craftsmen. Other than working slightly odd hours, we are very happy with his work product. He took our ideas and made them a reality. Would recommend Eric to others.

Punctual & professional

Eric came by and gave us an estimate for overhauling our garage. He did a very nice job explaining that he would repair and skim coat the walls to bring them to a nicer finish, add more lighting throughout the garage, and install additional outlets. He offered suggestions on what might look better, some of which I liked and did make the job turn out much nicer. He added some nice flat crown and base molding, which was a nice touch. Eric is easy to work with, very responsive and punctual.

Eric was professional and completed our project quickly. He worked pretty late into the evening. Overall he did a really nice job and we are happy with our bathroom. There are a couple of areas where the paint could have been touched up more, but overall we are very satisfied and would use him again in the future if needed,

Eric was great. We had about 5 estimates done on our basement. He came in right in the middle. We choose him because he seemed knowledgeable, trustworthy and genuinely like what he does for a living. Eric estimated that he wold finish the job in 4 - 5 weeks, which he was pretty much right on target. He gave us a price on the labor and that price stayed fixed and he gave us an estimate on the materials. He did go slightly over on the cost of material but he was very fair about taking on the responsiblity of covering a portion of the cost himself that he went over the estimate, which you don't see a lot of people in this industry that stick to their word (very refreshing). We decided to put in tile flooring (thank god because we did spring a leak and the carpet would have been ruined two weeks into it). We had someone else install the floor and they caused things to extend an additional week and half because of the time it took. Eric would arrive between 10 - 11am and would work until 8pm at night if needed. He was always willing to work around our schedule. Eric had some great suggestions for ideas but was always willing to follow our direction. The one thing that I was very impressed with was how neat, clean and organized Eric was. Every night he left you couldn't tell he had been working all day. He also did a great job of keeping the dust down, it was one of the things we had heard from others that had there basement done. Not sure what he did but no issues. He also handled all of the inspections with the city. Overall, I would highly recommend him. Very good person that cares about his craft. Additional: Recently had an issue with the sink that Eric installed in the basement (of no fault to him) but I sent him an email to see if he could come by and look at it. He came by that same night figured out the problem and was able to fix it on the spot. No questions asked.

We are extremely impressed with the work done by Eric, and by his professionalism and efficiency. From the start to finish, Eric was punctual and responsive. He provided us with the quote the day of the visit, he returned our calls and was willing and able to work with our schedule. Eric does not waste time and works fast while the quality of work does not suffer. He is detail-oriented and makes sure that everything is done right. He has every possible tool on his truck and unlike many other contractors we have had experience with, Eric does not leave site every few hours to get materials or tools from Home Depot; he is extremely well organized. What we appreciated the most is that Eric was willing to listen to our concerns. We were concerned about possible water damage beyond the initial spots, and Eric was willing to check the areas we were concerned with, even though he did not think the water damage was an issue there. It turns out he was correct, but it gave us piece of mind. Also, he was willing to take on few other minor projects throughout the house, while still working in our kitchen, and all of it at minimal increase in cost. I asked for help with TV mount and getting wires through the wall, and he did not hesitate to do the job, even though it was getting late and he was done with the original kitchen job. Ultimately, Eric is a perfect contractor. He is honest, focused, efficient, and willing to listen to client's concerns. On top of all that he does it at affordable price. We have already asked Eric for quotes for additional projects in the house, and are looking forward to working with him again.

Eric was called on a Saturday to step in on a DIY kitchen remodel which had dragged on for one year. My buddy was not comfortable cutting the new sink base cabinet to fit a 36" apron front farm sink. Eric showed up within 2 hours and perfectly cut the cabinet, mounted the new sink, and installed the rest of the first batch of cabinets on phase one of the project. After insuring that all of the cabinets were plumb and level, Eric then installed the plumbing for the new sink and dishwasher. He also prepared a temporary plywood platform so the faucet could be used during the wait for counter tops. My buddy and I watched in awe as Eric had up to 8 power tools ready at his finger tips. The speed and efficiency with which he operates frankly demoralized myself, who has watched one too many DIY TV show! There was no wasted time, as Eric's truck contains every conceivable tool necessary to complete any task. He virtually ran to his truck on the few occasions he needed to grab something. Prior to Eric's involvement, I removed a soffit which contained a vent pipe for the sink drain. The pipe came out of the wall and through the ceiling at a right angle. I imagined altering this pipe would be too costly, so I cleaned up the galvanized pipe with a wire brush and painted it with stainless steel Rustoleum to match the adjacent exhaust fan. I decided that I would use hooks to hang spoons and spatulas from it. Eric pointed out that this "800 LB gorilla" might make for interesting conversation for a while but might not be a good long term idea in the event I decide to sell the house. In a little over one hour, Eric had re-routed the pipe up the wall and out the roof through the same existing roof hole. The drywall was patched and voila, it disappeared! Eric has also prepared the wall opening for a new breakfast bar, moving an electrical outlet and running electric for the light fixture. When the cabinets arrived for phase two, Eric installed them with the same proficiency those he installed during phase one. He is not much for conversation, but friendly and respectful enough. He shows up when he says he will, completes tasks efficiently without excuses, and can think out of the box. An example of this was the installation of the exhaust fan which came with limited instructions. Eric fabricated supports for the fan and secured it solidly to the wall. He also fabricated supports for the Krauss farm sink within the base cabinet. The sink manufacturer provided no guidance for a support system.

From the very start, Eric demonstrated his professionalism. He answered our call immediately and came over to give us a plan and estimate with 24 hours. We felt he gave us a fair and honest bid. Thankfully we trusted the Angie's List reviews, we trusted Eric and plunged ahead. Honestly it has been the best remodel we've ever done. Eric is a perfectionist and did the most beautiful job with our marble shower. It's a large shower with a custom base and it turned out absolutely gorgeous! Even the shower door installer commented on his perfect job angling the shower bench and curb correctly. He needed to move a lot of electricity and did a fine job with all of it. We're loving the new window light in both bathrooms. Eric cleaned up the work areas perfectly at the end of each day and always was conscientious about using tarps/covers in precious living spaces. He did a great job painting and even touched up any areas that were a concern. We couldn't be happier!

Eric did a great job, assisted us with the railings as the railings we had purchased were not going to work.

Listened to our ideas and suggestions and came back with a good plan and estimate within a day. Was always open to suggestions and worked with us throughout the entire project. Daily cleanup kept the house as clean as possible. All phases of the project were professionally done, and within the projected costs. We are very happy with the end results.

He does excellent work. Everything looks great. You would be hard pressed to find the seams in the drywall he replaced and his wood work is excellent. He was professional, on-time and hard working. He was very clean and respectful of our home. I was amazed at his efficiency compared to other contractors I have hired in the past. He does excellent work and will hire him again.

We contacted Eric about a month ago. He came out right away that night to look at our job, and by that evening he had emailed us an estimate. He recommended a great place for us to go to look at tile. I had been to other stores kind of looking around, but this store was by far the best, with the most choices on display. With advice from Eric, we brought home some samples, and we called him to get his opinion about the tile. Again, he came by right away the next day to look at our samples. We had some darker tiles in with some lighter ones, and he thought the kitchen would look better with the lighter tiles - boy, was he right! In addition to his expertise. we were very iimpressed with the care he took with our home and its belongings. He put down plastic runners and big mats on the floors, and covered any of our things that he thought might need to be protected from the dust. The next day he came back to grout the tile, and when he was finished, the kitchen looked as neat as a pin, as if nothing had every happened there - except that we had this amazing backspash with the new lights under our cabinets. I could not be more pleased with the job that Eric did for us. He always responded to us quickly, was here when he said he would be here, and was professional at all times. All of this at a great price! As I think of more things that need to be done in our home. you can be sure that I will call Honea Construction.

Eric is a true craftsman, beautiful work. This is why I subscribe to Angies. He was prompt attentive clean and did an outstanding job. I will be contracting his services in the future and highly recommend him!

The quote was pretty decent and he was actually the most professional of all the quotes we got. The price was mid-level. We analyzed our budget and decided to put it off for a while because all of the quotes were a little more than we wanted to spend.

Very pleasant, responsive & professional; provided an immediate quote and structural drawings and met with local permit authorities to determine permit/building implications. Would definitely use if we decide to proceed and would call again for other work. Definitely recommended!

Work went as promised and on time. No delays. Eric Honea's work was better than we ever expected. Among his many talents, he is an expert at finish carpentry.
