Damico Paving & Sealcoating

We asked three companies out to bid. One didn't show up, a local company bid $500.00 more so we hired this company. They showed up on time, removed our very weathered driveway and replaced it. The contractor even replaced an area of adjacent walkway that was tilted, for a very nominal fee. It looks beautiful if an asphalt driveway can look beautiful, perfectly edged and molded. Our neighbors have even complimented us and I've seen this company's signs on other driveways in the neighborhood. The driveway has held up perfectly over the last two years and we've had the same company sealcoat it. We wouldn't use anyone else.

Fantastic!!! Fast, courteous, professional from bid to final completion of work. (We got 3 other bids and there is no comparison on who to use or why). We love the look, qulaity etc. of the driveway. We are completely impressed. We have asked them to give us another bid to redo our original driveway in front of house. They can't bid until late March/early April due to asphalt pricing, but we can't wait to have them do our front driveway. When I see their signs on people's driveway, I think.....luckily family, they are getting the best work done around. I just joined Angie's list and saw them listed and since I loved the work this company does I wanted to comment right away - though I would have 8 months ago if I was a member. All I can say is use this company.

Excellent experience! Working with Amy was a pleasure. The work crew arrived on time and completed the work as expected. The price was reasonable. No surprises.

Arrived on time with a large crew and finished in 7 hours, they removed all the debris and cleaned up very well.

I found some well reviewed providers on angies list. Called and left messages for most since it was after hours. Rob from Damico was the first one to return the call on a Saturday. Said he was in the area and would come over and provide a quote. He arrived promptly, very professional, was helpful. Didn't try to over sell. Gave me a quote on the spot. Waited for other to respond. Was not that impressed with their responsiveness or professionalism. Prices are prices. Someone will always be cheaper but I wanted this to last and reviews/feedback wasn't always good with others. Some seemed fly-by-night. I called Rob told him he had the job. He said it would be a couple weeks. I realized at that point I wanted to add having the curb cut out. Rob quoted a price on the phone, had me write it in and fax the signed quote to them. We discussed my scheduling conflicts and we picked a date. he said he'd call the week before to confirm. We spoke the week before and all looked good but he said he'd call mid week in case it looked like rain. Mid week it did look like rain so we postponed until Monday - which worked for me. Rob called again on Sunday, left a message saying everything looked good for Monday morning. On Monday, within 15 minutes of time range he specificed 2 guys showed up with a truck and trailor. They unloaded and I discussed with them what I wanted to do, where the sprinklers were, and one small change. They got to work. About 15 minutes later Rob arrived, said he was sorry he was not there right away. Again, very professional and comfortable to deal with. He also explained how long I needed to stay off the asphalt and some other things - like leaving the door open when they were rolling the asphal. Then he went over the small change. The reality is we discussed this when he was here at first but I forgot how I wanted it and now I had changed my mind. He was GREAT about it and worked with me. Now, this was a minor change but there wasn't even a hint of - this will be more $. If it had been bigger maybe he would have but I think Rob would have figured it out beforehand. He really knows what he's doing. So he said it would take the day to do the work, by just after lunch there was a knock on the door and they were done. WOW!! Fast, all cleaned up (I need to get someone to re-install the sprinklers but that was understood). I would HIGHLY recommend these guys to anyone, and especially Rob. If I do not update this again it is because the end product held up well. It really looks like it will but if I don't add anything then assume the product was as good as the service.

I called and requested a price quote on Thursday and received a written estimate in my mailbox within 48 hours. I submitted the request to have the work done on a Monday at which time I was told it could be up to two weeks, depending on when they were next scheduled in my area. They called on Wednesday evening and informed me that they would complete the work the following afternoon which they did. The work was completed as well as I could have expected; the edges were neat and there was no spillage on the sidewalk.

Amy was a pleasure to deal with. Quote was received one day after calling. Once go ahead was given, Amy called back to set up schedule and the job was carried out as promised.

It went fine... and then started to crumble where they reinstalled railings. Also did not seal it well as it started chipping. I called several times, but Rob never responded. When our association wanted to have our driveway done, Rob did come out immediately to give us an estimate and saw what was happening on my stairs and said he would send someone out to repair... HE DID NOT! Months later, I called again and the woman said that Rob would call me... again... NO RESPONSE. We did hire someone else to do our driveway and I think the customer satisfaction scale is low for this company!

Driveway was caving in at opening. There was some concern about the flow through pipe. Contractor started process of removing old driveway and determined that pipe has rusted and needed to be replaced. Ordered new pipe and installed and completed driveway repair and two days later re-coated driveway. Crew was excellent and professional and cleaned up area. Very pleased with results and business attitude of owner.

Damico did an excellent job. The court was done very well. The coating they used on the court was the same that professional courts have and they painted the lines on for us. They also made it thick enough to park cars on so we could use it for parking if chose to. They did a great job for us.

Very well, Carolyn Damrow came out and gave me a detailed, firm estimate. The work was scheduled for the following week. The techs arrived, prepped the driveway with blowers, pulled out the weeds at the cracks and hand-applied a top-quality sealant. This was about 2 months ago and the driveway still looks great. The sealant they used filled cracks well. Good job overall!

We needed our asphalt driveway sealed. This company was recommended by neighbors and had a good rating on Angie's list. Overall, the experience for a simple job was good. My biggest complaints were with communication. I called to get an estimate and the person took down my information and said they would get back to me. I waited a couple of days and called them back. They did not get the message from their answering service. They did the estimate although it was left in the mailbox and I didn't know about it until I got the mail. I called to let them know they could do the job. They took down my information and said they would get back to me. I waited 30 hours and I called back and asked them if they wanted the job. They apologized for the bad communication and said they were working on the issue. They said they would call in the next week or two depending on the weather to say when they would be out. They called a week later and said they would be there the next morning. I called at 3 PM when no one had showed up and was told that they were down a crew for the day and were running behind. They showed up an hour later and completed the job. The job was done well.

Although we had some issues with the schedule, Robert and his team were excellent once the job started. Our town is NOT known for being cooperative with contractors and this was part of the scheduling problem also. With oil prices going up, by the time we got started the price went up, but Robert provided paperwork to prove their asphalt prices did go up. They ran into a sidewalk none of us knew was there, and designed a drainage system with the foreman that has completely taken care of a drainage problem we have had for decades (that other companies insisted that we must install a very $$$ French drain system). I didn't want to write the review until it really rained and this was the flooding week in Chicago area and we had NO standing water!! They gave us references for metal edging which has made a huge difference in looks.

Crew was very courteous and well organized. Whole job took about three hours. Everything left neat and clean. New driveway looks better than brand new!

Overall, Damico did an excellent job. Robert was responsive and answered the phone calls, and after difficulty setting up a good time, once it did start, the workers showed up on the appointed dates and times. We did purchase the drainage materials from a drainage material company ourselves, but this enabled us to be more informed about the options. Damico installed the basin and pipe, which the drainage material company delivered the day before. We had a heavy rain after the installation, and the drainage worked well, the slope of the driveway was good. One small complaint is that the city water pipe access is sunk too deep into the driveway.

I highly recommend them. They came around seven, had it out by nine, came back at 1:30 and had it installed by 4:30. It was done very professionally and very efficiently and I was pleased with the work that they did.

Our existing driveway was deteriorating at an accelerating rate. Damico was the lowest of three bidders. Although they were tardy in initiating the work (Initially they said work would be done in the second half of July, but it wasn't even started until July 31), the work itself was absolutely first rate. The crew that tore out the old driveway was clearly professional and experienced. Their teamwork was such that they rarely needed to speak to each other, but everyone was always in the right spot as trucks, front-loader and shovelers coordinated movements. They left the job site in a clean and orderly condition, while we waited a few days for the inspector. I was not home for the phase of laying down the new asphalt. It took only a few hours. When I got home about 11:00 a.m. the job was done, the site was clean, and they had left written instructions regarding care for the new surface.

They were very polite, kept to the schedule and had it done within the afternoon. The whole thing was just very efficient.

I called a couple of different companies for their work and this company is the cheapest. He estimated my cost will be around $3250, but the reason the work isn't done is because his License to contract has expired and is waiting to get them renewed. ($3,250.00)

It was excellent because they gave me a true estimate, showed up on time, and got the work done quickly and efficiently. The price was reasonable and the driveway looks great.

Evidently serving Cook county doesn't mean the north shore suburbs of Cook county. The estimate was great, but I was told they wouldn't come to my part of cook county for asphalt unless it was stamped/textured/whatever (which was more than double the price).

I would highly recommend them. They did excellent work and I am very happy with it. The process went smoothly and it looks nice. I can't say anything negative about them. They did as planned. There was no old driveway to tear up; they were putting a brand new one in.

Company provided an estimate for both replacement of existing drive and just a 2" overlay. Also provided a high price to replace an existing front stoop. They did not provide an estimate for a retaining wall, which due to settling of the existing drive and a couple of other estimates, I believe I needed. While professional and responsive, they seemed more interested in just selling a new driveway instead of fixing the underlying problem.

They did great! Robert worked alot for me with the city of Wheaton. I think it was because of him that we finally got it done. We had a problem with drainage and they put there heads together and came up with the best solution.
