Damico Paving & Sealcoating

On telephone requesting an estimate on a driveway apron. I started giving the dimensions when I was cut off and asked where I lived. I stated Big Rock and was told to hold. The woman came back and said they do not service Big Rock and to contact my local chamber of commerce. I informed her Big Rock does not have one, thanked her and hung up. Damico lists Kane County in it's service area. Big Rock is in Kane County. Does Damico just do large jobs? Angie's list,. you sent me an email recommending Damico for my specific job.

Very happy with overall experience. When I called for an estimate and had questions later all calls were returned promptly. Crew showed up on time, had the old driveway removed and a new one installed (approx 2200 sq ft) in about 4-5 hours. Everyone I dealt with at Damico was friendly and professional. Definitely would recommend them and I would use them again. This is how work is supposed to be done !

Workers arrived right on time. They went about the resealing process and were done in about 25 minutes. The job was neat. I was given instructions on when I could walk and drive on the surface. I gave them a check and they were gone. My driveway looks fabulous. You can not go wrong with these people.

Do be specific of what you want and ask questions. Be clear of the service being performed before they start. Very good job. Very Pleased. Would definitely recommend Damico Paving.

I had an excellent experience with them. They were very neat and very thorough. Their cleanup was good. What I like about them the most is probably the way their crew works together. They just interact great; everybody knows what they are going to do next. They are very cohesive to get the job done pretty fast. They are very efficient. There price is competitive.

First contact was last summer. Because the underlying base was damaged, the estimate to replace the driveway was more than we could spend. We discussed with Damico waiting until spring. In April, they still had our paperwork and agreed to schedule as soon as the weather allowed. On April 29, 2013, the work on the driveway began. The work is of high quality. The workers were very professional and polite. The work was done well, quickly, and looks great! I chose Damico because of the ratings on Angie's List and I was not disappointed! The paperwork was very understandable and gave us clear instructions. We were given care instructions and dos and don'ts.

Excellent customer service. Professional all around. The crew cleaned up after themselves. I now have a drive that is level with the garage! I did not anticipate the drive being so "porous", but my understanding is that seal coating after the first year should resolve that and give it a smoother finish.

The job was okay. There was nothing out of the ordinary. They were on time.

Came w/ an estimate which was fair and responsible. I got the village permit. They came on the set date. Job completed satisfactorily. Prior to the job being started I should have been informed that they do not accept credit cards and that I had to add dirt to the edges.

They did a great job. We had a problem with responsiveness: When I called in June, they said they'd put us on their list. They called the next week to come out but we had mulch in our driveway so I said to call the following week. I called the first week in July to tell them we were going on vacation that week and they shouldn't come that week because the cars would be in the driveway. They said OK. I never heard from them all thru July. When I called in August, they said they put us on hold when we called in July and we were supposed to call them when we got back. That's not how I understood it. The owner was very apologetic and they came out right away to do the work.

Very prompt and professional. We decided to make the driveway wider on the day of installation and the crew was happy to meet our adjustment. They also added reinforcement in an area where we park a very heavy vehicle. The driveway is very thick and seems to be of much better quality than any that we've seen. We will use Damico for future annual sealcoating.

I would recommend this company to anyone looking to have a new asphault driveway installed. Great service, on-time and finished the job quickly. They made sure the slope of the driveway was correct and even fixed a part of the sidewalk. The price and quality of the job exceeded my expectations.

They were very prompt in responding to our request for a quote. We found it on our door after we came home. We waited a bit for other quotes and they were considerably below the others so we went with them. I called the number provided to schedule and was told that it would happen in the next week or so and that I should expect a call to schedule the appointment. Here's where the minor breakdown occurred. I never received the call. I ended up calling in and they told me that it was scheduled the next day. I honestly felt like I had been forgotten and they corrected it when I called. The next day, they came and it was great job. We were extremely pleased with the end result. The workers were very professional and quick.

I found Damico Paving on Angie's List and called them the end of May. Everyone I have dealt with was very professional. I was given an estimate and they suggested I have the village replace the sidewalk because is was severly cracked. It took the village 3 months to replace the sidewalk and then I discovered I needed a Platt of Survey which delayed the install again. They were very patient with me and the delays. By Sept. I had everything in place and the completed the work in just several hours. I was very pleased with the patches and I will have them seal coat the whole driveway next summer.

Due to the multitude of embedded obstacles, variations in the width, grading, proximity to buildings, curves and manual concrete removal the project was somewhat more complex than a standard driveway replacement. The first crew completed the concrete portion of the removal on schedule and left the driveway in a usable state while the underground utilities were installed. They returned to complete the remaining blacktop removal, upgrading the base and installing the new blacktop a week later and on schedule. When there was an option or question I was always consulted to make sure the work was completed to my satisfaction. When the crew left they made sure the area was clean and that all construction material was removed. This is the first time in 25 years that I have not had water flow into my garage after a heavy rain. Job well done and I would recommend them to anyone who asks.

It turned out well, but took two tries - after the first time the coating on parts of the driveway was patchy. I called to complain and they came out to re-do it, now it is fine. It rained heavily pretty soon after the first effort so that may have affected it, I don't know. Both times it seemed to take more than one phone call to get a date set for when they would come out. The crew did a good job and the price was reasonable, really I think you would spend the same amount doing it yourself.

Only got one estimate and not the two I requested. Also requested to talk with someone and no one called to talk to me. I got the estimate stuck to our mail box.

After reading the reviews on Angie's List I chose Damico. I called and asked for an estimate. The next day they came out, left the estimate in the door, I wasn't home. As soon as I could I called Rob, he left the estimate, and he walked me through what I had to do before the work could be done, get the permit. Once I had done that I called back and left a message and Rob called back within 10 minutes. He explained what was going to happen now and we secured a date. They came out in the morning and tore out my old driveway also taking down an old basketball hoop that no one ever uses anymore. I am so thankful they did this of course with my permission and Robs suggestion, I have no idea how I would have ever gotten it down with out their help. This was truly a blessing. They put down the gravel and left. That afternoon, once the inspector came, another crew came and laid the asphalt. Very professional and detailed. Everything was left in a clean and neat manner. Thank you to all the men who worked so very hard. You all did and excellent job. Damico is the best. .

The initial visit was prompt and the quote was competitive. They were good about working with us to find a suitable day for the work. On the morning of the installation the old driveway was removed, a new base installed and rolled flat in about 90 minutes by two guys using a Bobcat and a roller. They did a good job of avoiding damage to our sprinkler system and our apron/sidewalk and cleaned up well before leaving. In the afternoon a crew of 6 or 7 guys arrived with equipment and worked quickly and efficiently to install the new driveway in about 2 hours. I liked their attention to detail at the end: they made sure that places where it touched the garage floor, paths and sidewalk had clean edges, and they were careful to pick up stray stones and debris from the lawn and the street. I would highly recommend this company.

They arrived on time and were very efficient. They took care not to get the seal coating on anything, but the driveway. They did not fill the cracks as much as I wanted, but the manager will correct it at a later date.

They showed up right on time. The workers were very friendly and accomodating and professional.

Contacted Damico, and was provided a quote about 5 days later. I contaced Damico to proceed with the work, and told them to give me advanced notice before performing the work, as I was arranging the work for me and 2 neighbors. I was told I would recieve a call in the next few days to schedule the date of work. After no reponse after 1 week, I called Damico. I reiterated the need for 2 or more days advanced notice. They said they usually only gave 24 hours, but would try to give me 2 days notice. Then, without notice, they showed up on Tuesday morning at 6:30am. It woke me and my family up to hear the door bell and knocking at the door. I told the laborers that I didn't get any advanced notice, and wasn't ready for them to do the work for me or my neighbors. They left. Then I received a call from the office to reschedule....with no apologies. A week or so later, I did get 2 days notice and they did the work. And other thing...Damico was about 2 times higher than the 'other guys' I used in the past. I expected Damico seal coat quality or installation process to be superior. Haven't been able to see any additional quality yet.

I would use this company again but consider it less than professional when, after completing the work, I had questions (related to the re-appearance of cracks in the asphalt after a very heavy downpour) and called them three times, even to the sales rep cell phone. I left messages to please call, but no one ever did. This is frustrating and disappointing which is why I downgrade the company on professionalism. The next day a competitor, who was working across the street, looked at the driveway at my request and said it looked good. I (maybe like others) get very annoyed when phone calls go ignored. Seems like this is not an uncommon complaint regardless of who the contractor is.

could not be happpier--it looks superb and they did a fantastic job! I think that you do have to be firm with them about your schedule (they wanted to redo my requested day at the very last minute) and you do have to be firm about what you expect (they made a mistake and only had written down one side of the driveway to be widened, not both -- but they included it in the quoted price, no problem). After the job, they left a lot of soil from the digging and widening, and I called and insisted it be hauled away (and they did - for free--but it took three phone calls). So, yes, a bit of insistance and oversight on my part, but as i said, I cannot be happier with the finished result, and I'm really picky! My driveway looks perfect and super smooth, beautifully sloped to the curve, perfectly even with my sidewalk and the concrete in my garage. Flawless. Update: I've had them out twice to sealcoat the driveway and it's done fantastic both times. They even patched a side that was cracking off (needs more dirt to support it) for free. Great company.
