Horrible.

It was excellent dealing with Catalano Concrete Construction Inc. After calling for an estimate, the owner Sal called back quickly and made an appointment to come out and see what the job would entail. He checked everything out, made his measurements and went back to his truck to work up an estimate right there and then. We approved the estimate and made an appointment to have the work done. Catalano's crew showed up on the day they promised right on time first thing in the morning. The old concrete was broken up and removed, the whole area was dug out, framed out, stone base poured and compacted, extra dirt and debris removed, the whole area cleaned up and the crew was gone by mid afternoon! After our village inspector made the necessary visual inspections and approved the job so far, within two days the new concrete was poured and the job was complete. The last day when the forms were removed and final cleanup made, Sal came out himself to make a final inspection and make sure we were happy. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Sal and his crew will definitely be back when we need more concrete or paver work done.

We've got a pretty large driveway. He was prompt and punctual. I thought he was helpful and knowledgeable. I'm very happy with his services. Everybody keeps asking us who did it. We've got the best driveway in the neighborhood now!

Mr. Catalano and his crew were very polite, efficient and even reset the landscape bricks that had to be moved in order to complete the job. Mr. Catalano was involved every step of the way. During the estimate process he suggested increasing the size of the front stoop to make it easier for me to get in the front door without almost having to step into the dirt. My family as well as my neighbors really liked the work that was done. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Catalano Concrete.

Sal came out and gave me an estimate and when I was ready I called back and his office told me what I needed to do (get a permit) and as soon as I had that he called and told me they would be there within a couple of days, which they were. They came and broke up the current sidewalk and patio; came next day and framed it all up and then within a couple of days came and poured the cement. Sal came out himself to supervise and came back the next day to remove all the framing. I was very happy with the work and the service and would definitely recommend - very friendly and professional. They did a great job.

Grade of A Mr. Catalano came out immediately after the contact from Angies List. We had five companies come out, two never submitted bids; the other two bids one was so low that my neighbor and I thought the quality might be poor and the other was so far over what we thought was fair we completely discounted it. So we went with Mr. Catalano. I did have to go down to the village and get the permit myself in all other work I had done the contractor had purchased it. Once I got the permit we still had to wait nearly two weeks but this was not Mr. Catalano's fault it rained too much he got behind. Once he got going his crew did a terrific job. They came back the following day and took out the frames and put all the dirt back which they had removed. I would recommend him in the future to anyone who is looking to have concrete done.

Sal, the owner, gave me a reasonable estimate compared to other contractors. He was fair and honest. He did the work in a timely and professional manner. Quality upon completion was very good. This contractor is competent.

He was honest and reliable. I was very happy with his price. He did a beautiful job. Our friends who used him have been pretty satisfied. It is holding up fine. I recommend him very highly. He is honest and friendly. He kept his appointments.

I emailed them asking for an estimate and they got back to me the next day. They sounded a little brusque. I don?t think I would get along with them too well. They were very responsive and punctual.

They did very good. I was very happy with them. This came out about $6.50 per square foot, which was very fair.

Needed my front stoop replaced; estimate was fast, communication was very good, and work performed was great.

Provided thorough estimate with certificate of liability insurance. Scheduled work timely, working around weather. We had to obtain the building permit, and there is an inspection prior to pour and after pour by the village inspector. Pour went well and they did a very nice job sloping it away from the front porch to keep rain running away from the garage and house. On our concern about pitting / rock pops - advised always a problem in Chgo area weather with freeze/thaw but important to keep all salt products off the driveway, esp in first year. As of April, 2009, driveway looks good with only minor pitting / rock pops at top of driveway nearest the garage where ice/snow mixed with road salt and debris collected and on apron where street salt from plows.
