Unfortunately Harvey had "problems" with his truck and called to reschedule the day he was supposed to come out and give me a quote. He was very lackadaisical. Showed little enthusiasm and did not seem interested in my semi large project. He never got back to me with the quote even though I called him and asked him when he thought he would have it. He said he would have it back to me the next day. Weeks and no word. Another company that doesn't seem to need the work? And yes, I checked both my email and voice mail. There was nothing.

Very professional. Came out per our appointment. Shared a lot of good ideas with us. Took photos and asked a lot of questions regarding what we wanted in a landscape plan; and then never got back to us. Didn't return any of MY follow up calls. If he didn't want to do our work, I would have appreciated a "no bid" response.

Harvey was great. He came out and did an awesome presentation for me. It was a very good experience for the price. He was very prompt. He called me back that day.

Initial planning and work was good. I would say excellent but a bit more attention to detail regarding plant placement would have been nice. I certainly would have used them again and recommend them to others except my experience this year with follow on work has been very disappointing. After receiving a flyer from them for Spring cleanup and new mulch I had all intentions of using them again. After several calls over over a month ago I never received a follow up call when promised. The last time I called and spoke over three weeks ago and then then I left another follow up message almost two weeks ago ...still no response. I've now started to do the work myself.

There really isn't any way I could write a review glowing enough to illustrate how great it has been working with Harvey from Apple Blossom. After some pretty terrible experiences with a GC for remodeling of our bathrooms and basement, to work with Harv was amazing. Everything from his initial ideas and design for our new "garden/back yard" during the quoting process, to the scheduling of the work and the payment structure, to working with the city on permits and rules/regs issues, to the resulting final and completed product has been A++, outstanding. Harv is a great guy, was here on site himself most days, at least to help get things started, and has been back out since completion as well to help us with some afterthoughts, questions, etc, and for some education for ongoing care. Out of all the work we had done, the only thing he and his crew didn't do themselves was the concrete work. There were some scheduling issues with the team he subbed that out to, so about a week was lost trying to get them here, but the work they did was fantastic, their high level of skill was very apparent, and we get compliments on the patio and sidewalk regularly. We probably could have found someone to do this for cheaper than what we paid overall, but I've become a strong believer in the adage "you get what you pay for," so whatever delta there may have been in cost was far made up for by the experience and quality of work. Harv has a lifelong customer with us, just the way he wants it, and I have and will continue to recommend Apple Blossom to anyone asking.

Everything went well, and it was a good experience. I would absolutely recommend them to others.

Work is always top notch, timely and completed to perfection with no loose ends. We had an old patio removed, a deck installed from another contractor he recommended and he tied in the paver patio and landscaping beautifully with the deck. Couldn't be happier.

He was very nice but was not interested in retuing calls after. It was obvious that this was an advertising ploy trying to get bigger jobs.

Harvey is a great guy. He is local and takes pride in his work. We closed on a destressed property and need a TLC for the landscaping. Harvey and his crew were out within a few days. everything was cleaned up and our questions were answered. great job!

Harvey Willey came over to look at the existing landscape and get my thoughts and ideas about what I wouold like to see. He also took measurements of the yard and home. He was prompt, complete and provided exactly what he said he would provide. He is a man of integrity and high character. He also offerred lots of other advice adn help related to trees, lighting, rain barrrels and my pond. 2 weeks later after intial meeting he came back and presented the plan to my wife and I. He provided a number of copies of the plan as well as emailing it to me. He was very patient as well as a great listener. I thought the plan was very well thoughout and complete. He also detailed soil prep advice as well as possible vendors I might call. I will probably call on him again to hel pme with new outdoor lighting when I am finished. He has 35 years of experience in this field and has an obvious passion to help people create a beautiful landscape. He is the kind of guy you wish was your next door neighbor. Highly recommend Apple Blossom.

Great experience. Very professional. All work was completed on time, and the yard was cleaned up afterwards. It was an excellent experience, and I plan to use Apple again.

They did an awesome job! They were very responsive, did a good job working with us to stay within our budget by making reasonable suggestions. They stood behind their work and had good warranties on their plantings. They very nice people to work with.

We purchased a short sale property that was over grown and in need of a rescue. Harvey came out and gave us a quote. He is very knowledgable. His quote was a little higher than the 2 other angies list quotes, but they just didn't have the knowledge and experience that Harvey had. Great job, fast service and friendly............you will not be disappointed!

The landscaping work was delayed a little by the weather, but Harvey explained the reasons for the delay and what I could expect. As soon as the weather cleared up Harvey and his team were on site working away. They had to roto-til the dirt around my entire house, lay dirt down, compact the dirt, and properly grade the dirt. Once they got to this point the village had to come and inspect their work and ensure it met the villages standards. I guess it was for our benefit, but there were no issues and the inspector gave Harvey the go-ahead to finish. Harvey and his team finished up the project and the area looked a lot better then before they started.

Here are all the reasons why I would use Harvey again and why my husband and I think he's fabulous - 1) PROFESSIONAL - Harvey is well groomed and handles himself extremely professional from the first phone call to his final visit to review to each detail of his paperwork. He does what he says he's going to do. You get the same treatment if you have a $200 job or a $20,000 job. 2) FLEXIBLE - He is NOT an 8 to 5 guy. I drive 1.5 hours to work and my husband travels. Harvey agreed to meet me in the dark a 6 am to review the job I needed quoted with flashlights. Then during the final walkthru once the project was complete, he met us at 6 pm on a FRIDAY. How many contractors can you even reach by phone on a Friday anytime after 2 pm??????? 3) TURNKEY SERVICE - He can handle all the permitting paperwork and since he knows the inspectors it makes for a much easier transaction because he knows what to ask and what the lingo is. Harvey handles getting JULE to your home - those are the people who check to see where your utilities are. We didn't have to do anything. We needed fencework and, while he doesn't do fence work, he works so well with the fence guy that the fence was done perfectly, in conjunction with Harvey's team's work, and all we got was a bill. We never even had to meet with the fence guy. It was all taken care of. 4) KNOWLEDGE - He knows a LOT about landscaping and even provided me advice free of charge on several garden areas I have. He said I could call him anytime if I have questions on plants. I love that. 5) PRICE - I rated him a B on the price because I didn't know if I was getting a "deal" or not. It seemed like a fair price . We had planned to get multiple quotes on the job and Harvey was our second quote, but after he met me at 6 am and I saw what his service was like and his knowledge, we didn't bother getting someone else to quote it. When you are traveling 3 hours roundtrip to and from work and your husband travels and life is crazy....it's a huge weight off to know you have Harvey doing the job.

I was unhappy with the experience. I was looking for guidance and he did not seem to know very much and did not help me much. He suggested putting up different types of trees where I originally had three matching trees. He seemed to have no design knowledge and it was a long struggle to find advice on design knowledge on how to place the trees. I feel that he steered me wrong from a design standpoint. He wanted to tear out things out so he could just replace it all. He is very personable but I feel that it's a scam.

This is one great guy. The cost involved in the work that was quoted was a lot more than what we had hoped for and could afford to spend. Even though the owner could see when he arrived that we have a very modest home/yard, he still treated me just like I had a palatial mansion and landscape. We had a great talk, and he gave me such helpful ideas and suggestions, I'd highly recommend this company to someone who has a less modest yard and income. He would be first on my list.

Harvey came and did some work in the backyard. We had an area where evergreens had been cut down. He helped us to plan what should be planted in that area, taking into consideration my requests about adding color and giving me options. He put in a few shrubs and some trees, including some that will add color in the fall and that will attract butterflies. He was very easy to work with and was very responsive. He was very accommodating when the schedule had to change because of a storm and bad weather. We had another tree come down, and he worked that additional space into the plan. They left the area looking fantastic! I'm probably going to call him next for some more landscaping help.

I contacted Harvey and he came to my property the next day. Gave me a full consultation with advice and references for my property, including tree's, shrubs, and even gave me the name of a good chiropractor. Seriously Harvey gave me his best advice regardless of topic.

Earlier this spring, I received an Apple Blossoms Landscaping Lighting Consultation offer from Angie's List.My husband and I moved into this new home a few months earlier and had been thinking about doing some landscaping projects... I emailed Harvey Willey, the Owner/Manager of this company a few questions--and he got back to me promptly to answer them. We were having a different company install a wooden picket fence, and I'd mentioned this to Harvey, and he was kind enough to even make some suggestions on what I'd probably want to be sure to have included in that fence installation's quoted price (very helpful!). Harvey and I scheduled a date to have him come out to explain his company's services in May. He came prepared, and brought me several lighting catalogs to review and get some ideas from, so we could make a good decision. He thoroughly explained the pricing estimate upfront to me, did not "sugar-coat" anything to me, and explained why our project would cost what it might.... The Angie's List special entitled us to get a lighting consultation where Harvey would come out, do a temporary lighting demo for us (that he nicely left up for us over a week-end, so we could really see potentially what we'd be buying if we moved forward.) He came out later in late May for the demo installation, showed up on time/date promised, etc. One of the unexpected and much appreciated things that Harvey did on his several trips here to our home was to walk over our property with me and help me identify some of our plant species, he gave me some gardening/plant maintenance tips, along with some future landscaping suggestions. He did this at no additional cost, and just as importantly--REALLY KNEW HIS PLANT MATERIAL! He also did NOT heavy-pressure us into anything, nor make any promises he did not deliver on. My husband and I loved the lighting demo, so moved forward with the installation a week or two later. Harvey's team showed up on time and was efficient in getting everything installed in about one-half a day. Harvey himself came out to inspect what his team was doing, and to thoroughly explain to me how to turn on/off the lighting, show me how it was on an automatic switch, etc. Harvey had asked me a few days before the installation if we'd want his crew to also do some mulch installation. At first we said no, but then on the day of the installation, decided to have the mulch installation also done and his crew did a nice job with this (didn't skimp on the supply, cleaned up after themselves, etc.). Overall, we would HIGHLY recommend Harvey and his company. The "B" rating on pricing was only because this project was a bit more expensive than we'd have guesstimated when we first considered this kind of home upgrade--but has Harvey said, "you get what you pay for" and we were ultimately very satisfied with the whole project. We will likely be utilizing Harvey's company down the road to do some additional landscaping installation for us.

Apple Blossom is ranked very highly on Angie's List and so I was anticipating impressive performance from it. Unfortunately it was not forthcoming. I called the company for landscape services at my parents' house in Villa Park. The proprietor didn't call me very punctually- instead he called me within a couple of days after my written inquiry and bid request. When he called I informed him that I was looking to have my parents' home landscaped and mulched, he said that I had "pretty much missed the mulching season" and that he wouldn't be able to get a delivery out there for a couple of weeks. I told him that would still be fine. Strangely, he called me again the following week and began talking to me as if he was making a first contact with a new prospective client. I told him that he and I had already spoken, reminded him of the conversation, and that I was requesting landscaping and mulching at my parents' home. He apologized, remembered the conversation, and he again told me that mulching was not likely for 3 weeks (versus 2 weeks per the last conversation). I again told him fine. I again asked that he give me a quote for the services. He went out to the house (because my father told me he saw him out there). And then nothing: No mulch bid. No landscaping bid. No phone call. No email. Nothing. I guess he really didn't want the business.What he probably should have realized is that I'm a business owner and that I was ready to give the go-ahead on a substantial project. But without even a return phone call I'm not going to ever call this company again.

Apple Blossom owner can out to my house, discussed landscaping services and stated he would get back to me with a proposal in a couple of days. Never heard or saw him again. If he did not want to provide services at my house I would have appreciated a call, email or note in my mailbox!

Harvey scheduled an appointment within a week of calling and came out to look at our property. We needed some drainage solution to help out with our yard flooding and wanted to install a new patio. Harvey took careful notes and came up with a plan to build a dry well in the yard and run electricity out to the well so he could install a sump pump and pump the water to our front yard where it could drain into the street and storm sewers. He also drew up a patio install for us and a few retaining wall ideas. He was very professional and gave us a very detailed and customized estimate. The overall work was a bit out of our price range. I would definitely recommend Harvey if your budget allows for it, unfortunately it did not work out for ours.
