Description of Work: redid our whole house after a horrible fire - promised us so much and did a really cheap bad job - stuff broke shortly after - tried to get money back - horrible people - ripped us off - ripped the insurance off - did our bathroooms, kitchen, family rooms etc.

Description of Work: Replaced a painted pantry door with 6-panel door which will be stained. Changed lockset on garage access door. Weatherstripped three doors. Adjusted latching mechanism on two screen doors.

Description of Work: They installed a storm door, with a build out for the side window, for our front door. They were responsive online and over the phone. They gave me am estimate online, then came and did measurements to confirm the online estimate and the price actually came down a little bit. They were great and I would highly recommend.

Description of Work: "House-Crafters came out for an estimate in person, which was great and their price and proposed work was reasonable. The carpenter was very friendly and easy to communicate with. My job included installing new base and shoe board/moldings in one room, and repairing trim around one of our garage bays. The work that was completed was satisfactory. Unfortunately, despite the trim being already primed with white paint, the carpenter used shoe molding that was all scraped up to begin with, eliminating my plan of not having to paint it right away. Additionally, my house was left a little bit of a mess. The carpenter did not have a drop cloth in our nursery leaving debris, a wet rug from spilled water, and dirty hand marks all over the walls and he did not fully clean up on our deck where he had been cutting the trim pieces. | |My biggest/lasting concern is regarding a railing repair. On the day of the job, I presented the carpenter with two rail shoes (already cut and stained) to simply be nailed into place on my staircase. Unfortunately, the carpenter nailed them in, but had an inch of nail protruding out the SIDE of my staircase hand rail! He returned later to address the safety risk and nail, however my staircase railing was left damaged. A small piece of wood chipped off from the errant nail. On a subsequent visit to reattach the thin piece of wood that he chipped off my staircase the carpenter installed it back on in the wrong orientation (upside-down) with wood glue and miniature pin nails so that it did not fit back flush against the hole, or fully covering the unstained wood underneath. Having spent a couple hours on it to make it presentable, you can't really see it, but it's very noticeable to the touch and I'm afraid will last with the life of the staircase. |"

Description of Work: Hired House Crafters via big deal to install two sliding patio doors. Upon removal of 1st door, major wood rot discovered. Rob assessed damage, picked up supplies and stayed until 9:30 pm to fix the structural damage. Came back at later date to finish 2nd door, prepared with extra material due to rot under 1st door which was fortunate because similar damage existed. Did a great job of replacing rotted wood and by the way, installed doors as originally contracted. Fair price overall considering hours and effort needed to repair all the wood rot. Rob knows his stuff and will refer and won't hesitate to call House Crafters again.

Description of Work: Installed new storm door, and corrected latching/locking on entry door that had not worked properly for a long time. Rob is very experienced, knowledgeable, and patient in accomplishing the tasks. He will always find a way to get the job done correctly.

Description of Work: Rob installed a screen door and fixed molding leftover from a botched job by GS Flooring who was contracted through The Home Depot (stay away from both!). House Crafters is a professional outfit that were on time, great at communicating schedules and updates as needed. The work that was provided wasn't easy but Rob did an excellent job and the door and molding look beautiful. He was pleasant to work with and cleaned up when he was finished. Definitely would recommend if you need some handy work.

Description of Work: He replaced two exterior doors for us. He went and picked up the doors on the day of the job and uncrated them at our home as they both had glass windows in them. One of the doors was defective, and the Store closest to our home did not have another one. He went to another one of their stores and obtained one that was not defective. He did not charge extra for this service, even though it added more time to the job. They did an excellent job with the installation, were very professional and courteous. We would use this company again.

Description of Work: They cleaned the gutters. The only thing that would have made the service better is if they had taken the garbage bag with them. It was too heavy for me to drag out to the curb. Since it has been over a year since I had them come out I am not sure on the date of service.

Description of Work: They did an excellent job-- Once they began, it became clear that installing the door was going to be a bit more difficult than expected. They rose to the challenge and did a great job-- even going so far as a cut a custom piece to make everything fit better. I was very happy with the result.

Description of Work: Installed new entry and storm doors that I purchased. Re-insulated another entry door. They reviewed everything with me beforehand and again after they completed their work. Very thorough and professional. Highly recommended.

Description of Work: Removed old bathroom counter top and installed new one; included plumbing to install new faucet in slightly different location for the new counter top. Rob was extremely careful and meticulous when removing the old counter top, so as to not damage the counter/vanity, which we were not replacing. Good planning an execution throughout the job.

Description of Work: Rob installed a patio door for us. He was very detailed orientated and responsible. Very impressed with his work!! | |We bought the door at home depot. Originally, home depot was supposed to install the door for us but the installer would not return our call to schedule. Apparently, they were way behind schedule. We are so glad we switched to House-Crafters.
