Rob was very professional and took great pride in his work. He did things in a very honest way and resulted in excellent workmanship. It happened to be cold and snowy on the day of the scheduled work, and he set up the work site with temp awning and appropriate heating equipments. Job lasted longer than originally expected due to the weather but the finish was solid and amazing. Very satisfied and would definitely recommend to others.

This is the kind of contractor you want to deal with. Starting with a rapid response from an Angie's List query, with up-front pricing and convenience options (like picking up the storm door from the store, which is great since I don't have a truck), the communication was fantastic. The team called ahead of time that they were coming, arrived promptly, and did fantastic work. I will use them again for my next house maintenance item.

The carpenters arrived on time and started assessing the door and the installation. They brought a few problems to my attention and went to work on solving them. He was very professional and very thorough in his work. I called him back about an aesthetic part of the install and he very promptly turned around and fixed the issue. No Problems.

Rob and his assistant took their time and did a great job installing. Estimate was up front and he provided exactly what I needed to pickup/order at Menards. I put in some extra effort to pick up the doors myself but he does offer that as a service as well for a nominal fee. Rob looked over the doors closely and pointed out a couple of minor manufacturing flaws he saw before installation to ensure I was OK with new door condition. During install, some exterior trim wood rot was found and he was very fair about add'l charges to install and replace. I offered to make the quick trip over and pickup up a couple of boards while they continued to ready the storm door.

Rob looked at several windows and a patio door and gave us the dimensions for us to pick out windows/doors from menards. He did a very good job installing. He also installed a storm door.

Since the gap was so large, he bought the highest rising adjustable threshold they make (he said), but it still was not high enough so he built it up himself with wood from his truck to be the right size. You would never know that it was built up as you cannot tell at all from looking at it. It now seals great; no breeze or cold air comes through under my door. He really did a great job.

The job was completed as if he was doing his own house.

They did a great job at a fair price. We ordered the door from someone else and it came damaged in one piece. Neither of us or House-Crafters noticed it until our front door was already out. They put it the door with a dented side like and then came back with a new one with no additional cost. We noticed that a couple of screws that weren't put back on the storm doors and a few little things, and they came back a week later to finish off some of the unfinished items. They got it done within a day, but they were finished late in the night.

getting started took a little time. had to follow-up on appointment times but when work was done it was good.

We couldn't be happier with our new doors! Rob is not just a carpenter, he's a Craftsman. His whole attitude is perfection. He's from the 'old school' of 'Do it right the first time.' He's an expert in his profession and dedicated to the job tasks he's been asked to do. Because of the age of our house, and the fact that the house has 'settled' over the years, Rob was required to spend extra time actually re-building the frames that housed the doors. What SHOULD have been a "normal" installation turned out to be a much more difficult assignment. Rob went far above and beyond what many carpenters would have. It seemed that every time he started a task, problems came up. He stayed with the job until he was forced to quit for the day because he ran out of daylight. He managed to get both entry doors and one of the storms up before he had to quit. He was quick to return and finish the job, plus fix a piece of "wood" under the front door that turned out to be a fault from siding installation put up (wrong) many years ago. Rob was personable and very easy to talk to regarding what we wanted and more than fair in his pricing. While he does not do painting himself (both entry doors were bought with primer coat only) he knew a painter who was also very skilled and professional in his work who responded immediately to our call. I was not surprised to learn that Rob is also qualified as an inspector for other contractor's finished projects. He knows how the job needs to be done right, and insists on the same high quality in his own work. I would not even think of going to anyone else for any similar jobs we need to have done in the future, and I've already been able to refer him to a neighbor friend. Rob at House Crafters is the BEST!

Housecrafters removed the old basement door and installed the new steel door and locks/deadbolts. All work was performed to my total satisfaction. I would gladly use Housecrafters again.

Rob came out and measured patio door. Gave me a quote (had paid for the $300 Angies List deal) and gave me his opinion of door to use when I ask for his input. I bought door at local Menard's and Rob picked it up on way to install. Rob and his helper did good job fitting the door in the opening. Did a good job in my opinion.

I had an appointment scheduled with Rob to come and evaluate my needs. We had discussed replacing my door and frame and he had an appointment scheduled for Friday, during the day. I took the day off work to meet the contractor and they never showed. I called and left a message, but not reply contact was ever made. I have since moved on to other contractors.

The service turned out well. The work was excellent. They were on time.

Robert and his assistant did an excellent job. They picked up the new door from where we ordered it and assisted with ordering the door and provided measurements. They answered any concerns and we have not had any problems or issues with the installation nor with the Patio Door itself. They were very competent and knowledgeable with the task to be completed and were extremely efficient and dependable. In addition they were very polite and pleasant. I highly recommend them.

He had to replace the bottom threshold and fit it into the frame. He did a great job for a reasonable price. He was a very hard worker. They were referred to us by Menards where I purchased the door.

I thought they were nice and professional. I am waiting on a good deal on the door with Menards before I move forward with the process.

I was happy with their services. Three men did the work in one day. I was referred to them by Menards and I would use them again in the future.

The service turned out very well. I had two other people come out and give bids. Rob seemed very knowledgeable and he found things that the other service providers did not catch. He determined that we needed custom doors as regular doors would not have fit. He did a really good job and he stayed late to take care of the service. I would hire him again.

The service turned out okay. The man that did the work was good but I think he was distracted by a kid he was apprenticing. The work could have been of higher quality.

Purchased big deal for install on Angie's list. Rob came out took measurements and made his recommendations. We had looked at doors already and he answered our questions. Our door was not standard size so we had to custom order it. After a mixup on delivery date by Home Depot, Rob picked up the door and came to our house. Did a full inspection and noted some items. Promptly called Home Depot and they authorized installing and stationary panel would be replaced later due to a break in the vinyl cladding. Rob was very thorough and explained what he was doing every step of the way to ensure the leaks which caused us to replace the door, would not occur on the new install. The new door looks great and am very happy with service.

I am really happy with the service from this Company. When I He came out for the initial review of the Job, to setting up the install appointment. I had to order the Fiberglass front door with a 5 1/4 jam which stores don't keep stock. It took approx. three weeks for the door to arrive from the manufacturer. I opted to pick up the main door and storm myself when it came in since the store was on my way home from my work. It only took a week after the holiday week to setup the appointment which I agreed to a weekend install (Sun). Rob came out around 10am with his helper. Ihad both doors waiting. Rob got right to work removing old original door which was from the 40's. Once the Old door was removed Rob found some very badly rotted wood which he shown me that had to be replaced on the lower opening but Rob had needed material to correct the problem. I was already impressed that he acted like it wasn't a big deal to correct the problem but willing not to take shortcuts which I liked and would take longer to get the new door in but was going to be done right. Another nice thing Rob always would clean up if any mess he made as the job went through its steps which he did multiple times. I mentioned to Rob that I just had our wood floors refinished and he said he would make sure he didn't scratch and would keep his mess cleaned up and he did. I couldn't be happier with this kind of service! Another thing that I was amazed with was Rob installed a brand new lock and re-keyed my back door to match the front. My back door is only a year old and had another contractor install (wish I knew about house crafters ) I had a problem with the backdoor lower lock which was the same age as the door you had to wiggle the key to open it which was a big pain. Kudos to Rob again for fixing it with the new matched front door key works great now couldn't be happier. When it came time, Rob offered me to replace the interior door trim since the old trim was in bad condition when it came off around the door not Robs fault. So Rob said, I could go down the street to Home depot from my house and buy some new trim and he would install it while he finished installing the storm door. So that's what I did since everything else was new I wanted it to all look nice. It doesn't look nice it looks great! Really happy Rob is a true craftsman takes pride in his work and is neat and has respect for the customer?s property. I will definitely call House crafters again if I need anything in regards to my projects which Rob said he can do just about everything and I believe him! Thanks again Rob Excellent job!

He did a great job at the installation of our back sliding door. He was on time and really made our door look nice

I called Housecrafters and they were out promptly to give me an estimate. It was very competitive based on previous estimates.I scheduled the job with them. They had to postpone once due to the temperature of the roof. They came out the next week and installed 3 dormer windows in one day. So far, the work seems to be good(reason for the replacements was leaking roof around windows). The only suggestion I would make would be improvements in cleanliness inside during the installation.
