If your water heater dies, you need a new one installed IMMEDIATELY! But other circumstances also made R&S's service heroic. After a few phone calls, we quickly learned that few, if any, plumbing or HVAC contractors typically stock a 75-gallon water heater, so a contractor first must find one. Plus, R&S was notified of our emergency need on a Monday morning after temperatures had dipped to 0 for four consecutive nights (hence, they had a weekend's worth of frozen pipe emergencies to deal with, too). Finally, it wasn't as though we were longtime customers of R&S; rather, this was our first encounter with them. The water heater was installed and working by 4:00 p.m. Monday. (By contrast, the HVAC contractor that installed our present heating and air-conditioning systems--I also know the owner personally--quoted me a price of $1375 and installation on Tuesday.)

This was the second time Keith had repaired plumbing fixtures in our home. It is quite refreshing to have a timely, neat, professional plumber beat the expectations of my extremely particular wife. We intend to have R&S do future remodeling that is already scheduled and am thinking of placing bath in finished basement in near future.

Jim was on time, very polite, and reasonably priced. Time to repair or replace was performed efficiently and effectively. Time was critical as it is condo living and 8 floors of our tier was impacted by the shutoff of water. Replacement took half hour when water shut-off was scheduled for a 2 hour timeframe.

Absolute best! Called on subzero day at 7:50 AM; Keith was booked for the day, but changed other appointments to meet my immediate need. At house less than hour later. Problem could have been faulty relief valve (no apparent leaks in tank); gave me option of replacing valve. Considering age of old unit I decided to replace hot water heater. He worked even while I had to run errands. During this time he accepted a UPS package for me. Keith was polite, courteous, and speedy. He left work area clean, and took old heater when he left. Finished job in less than three hours and I was still able to go to nephew's college graduation in Iowa that afternoon. Never thought I would get such great service. Keith reinstilled my trust in ''blue collar workers''. I am a senior citizen and received the discount. I plan to call him back in late spring or summer for other plumbing work needed at 40 year old house. Thanks, Keith, you truly are the best.

It's been very cold, and I guess a lot of people have had similar plumbing problems, so I had to wait over the weekend for the work to be done. But Jim arrived when he promised, got right to work, and finished very quickly. He explained the work that he'd done and advised me about preventing a recurrence of the problem. He was extremely pleasant and professional, and I was surprised to see such a clean and well-dressed person dive right in to such a grubby job, and emerge unscathed. I am relieved to have R&S to call in the event of future plumbing problems.

OUR WATER WAS DWINDLING DOWN TO A TRICKLE IN THE KITCHEN SINK. ANOTHER PLUMBER WANTED TO REPLACE OUR FAUCET. KEITH WAS ABLE TO CLEAR THE DEBRIS AND REMOVED A TRAP WE COULDN'T GET AT SO IN THE FUTURE THERE IS ONLY ONE TRAP TO CLEAN OUT. EXCELLENT JOB.

PROMPT AND COURTEOUS. PROTECTED THE WALL AND FLOOR SINCE OUR CLEAN-OUT IS INSIDE THE HOUSE. HE EVEN REPLACED A TOILET I REMOVED FOR NO ADDITIONAL COST.

SERVICE WAS PROMISED AND COMPLETED THE MORNING FOLLOWING THE CALL. PLUMBER WAS PROMPT, PLEASANT, AND FINISHED QUICKLY. DRAINS NOW WORK LIKE DRAINS SHOULD WORK. IMMEDIATELY INFORMED US AND CLEANED UP EVERYTHING AFTER ONE CONNECTION UNDER THE SINK SEPARATED WHILE BEING CLEARED. ALSO GAVE ADDITIONAL SUGGESTIONS ON PREVENTING FUTURE PROBLEMS. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME WE HAVE USED R & S PLUMBING AND FEEL WE HAVE FOUND OUR PLUMBERS.

I WOULD DEFINITELY HIRE THEM AGAIN. VERY POLITE, PROMPT, A+ SERVICE. PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE.

I WAS VERY PLEASED THAT KEITH THE SERVICE MANAGER IMMEDIATELY KNEW WHAT THE ISSUE WAS, AFTER MY EXPLAINING THE SYMPTOMS. HE FIT ME INTO THEIR SCHEDULE IN A VERY SHORT TIME. THE PRICE I THOUGHT WAS VERY FAIR. THE GUYS WERE VERY CORDIAL AND POLITE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO MY FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS. THE ISSUE WAS RESOLVED IN A TIMELY MANNER AND THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES.

JIM TALKED ME INTO A HIGH END HOT WATER HEATER. VERY FAST INSTALLATION. I HAVE USED THESE GUYS QUITE A BIT. THEY ARE VERY TRUSTED.

PLUMBER WAS EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS. HIS WORK WAS METICULOUS. HE SPENT ABOUT 2 HOURS HERE (15-20 MINUTES FOR THE CLOG)! I DID NOT FEEL LIKE I WAS BEING ''UP-SOLD'', LIKE I HAVE WITH OTHER ''BIGGER NAME'' COMPANIES. I EXPECTED TO PAY $200 TO CLEAR THE DRAIN WITHOUT THE EXTRA EFFORT TO REBUILD THE PLUMBING, SO THE PRICE, TO ME, WAS EXCELLENT. I HAVE HAD HORRIBLE EXPERIENCES WITH 5 OTHER PLUMBERS, SO WHEN I SAY I WOULD USE R&S PLUMBING AGAIN IN A SECOND, THAT'S A BIG STATEMENT!

SPOKE TO JIM, I BELIEVE, AND TOLD HIM THAT THE PROBLEM HAD BEEN "FIXED" SEVERAL TIMES BY OTHERS, BUT THAT THE LEAK CONTINUED. HE ASKED SEVERAL QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PROBLEM, THEN SAID SUGGESTED REGROUTING THE BATHROOM ON OUR OWN, FIRST, AND SEE WHETHER THAT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. HE SAID HE DIDN'T WANT US TO SPEND MONEY FOR HIM TO COME OUT IF IT WAS A SIMPLE TASK WE COULD DO. WE FOLLOWED HIS ADVICE, AND IT WORKED! GREAT TO FIND SOMEONE WHO WAS SO HONEST AND HELPFUL.

I WAS ABLE TO SCHEDULE RIGHT AWAY (A LIVE PERSON ANSWERED THE PHONE). JIM SHOWED UP IN THE TIME FRAME GIVEN, COMPLETED THE WORK QUICKLY AND CLEANED UP.

JIM DURSO CAME TO MY HOME TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE -- HE WAS PROFESSIONAL, DID NOT WASTE MY TIME, AND DID ANSWER ALL OF MY QUESTIONS. BASED ON MY REQUEST, THE WORK WOULD REQUIRE BREAKING THE WALL AND REPLACING PIPES. HIS ESTIMATE WAS LESS THAN HALF OF HIS COMPETITOR'S. THE VISIT WAS FREE OF CHARGE. THE NEXT DAY, I CALLED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND AN APPOINTMENT WAS AVAILABLE THE VERY NEXT DAY. KEITH CAME TO DO THE WORK. HE ASKED ME TO REVIEW THE ISSUES WITH HIM. WHEN I DID, HE SAID, ''I THINK I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT'S WRONG -- WE DON'T NEED TO REPLACE THE PIPES.'' HE WENT OUT TO THE TRUCK, GOT A PART, AND IN LESS THAN 15 MINUTES FIXED THE PROBLEM, AND CHARGED ME 75% LESS THAN JIM'S ESTIMATE. I HAVE HAD NO TROUBLE SINCE. THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME -- HONEST, STRAIGHTFORWARD, FRIENDLY, DOWN-TO-EARTH, AND KNOWLEDGEABLE.

KEITH WAS PLEASANT AND PROFESSIONAL. HE CALLED TO SEE IF IT WAS OKAY FOR HIM TO COME AND DO THE WORK A COUPLE HOURS EARLIER THAN OUR APPOINTMENT (IT WAS!). HE DID HIS BEST TO SAVE US COSTS. THE JOBS WERE COMPLETED QUICKLY, EXPERTLY, AND WITH A SMILE.

JIM ARRIVED EARLY MORNING AS PROMISED. WORK WAS DONE QUICKLY - TOTAL TIME FOR ALL THE WORK WAS LESS THAN 2 HOURS, AND JIM HAD TO RUN TO THE HARDWARE STORE FOR ONE PART. THE WORK AREA WAS CLEANED AFTERWARD. PRICE WAS REASONABLE, I EXPECTED THE TIME AND COST TO BE GREATER. WILL DEFINITELY RECOMMEND R & S PLUMBING AND WILL USE THEM ANY TIME I NEED PLUMBING WORK DONE.

PLUMBER WAS ON-TIME, VERY NICE, AND FAST. HE WAS ABLE TO GET THE WORK DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. WOULD DEFINITELY HIRE THIS FIRM FOR FUTURE WORK.
