Description of Work: Installed both fluorescent and LED lighting fixtures and weather stripping, as well as correcting the installation of a new refrigerator (which was inadequately done by the dealer's rep). It was all very well done. [The cost is for two different visits.] I intend to have him back to do some work on the deck.

Description of Work: Good communication. Jumped right into the project and was finished in no time. Even found an unrelated problem (loose wire that was arcing) which could have caused major problems.

Last year I needed a towel rack for my bathroom as well as a grab bar and miscellaneous other things. He also has intalled a peep hole in my front door. Overall, I was quite satisfied with his work and intend to use him again.

+ 7 moreHe removed the old cabinets, countertop, and old laminate floor. He removed the old soffit per my request and rerouted some plumbing and wiring from there into the attic. He repaired the ceiling and walls. He added multiple new outlets and lighting per my request, and installed the new ceramic tile flooring. He then installed the new cabinets which included a lazy susan plus a pantry with swing outs. He installed all the new appliances. The countertop was installed by the company that made it (solid surface) but he installed the faucet and all the other new plumbing, including the dishwasher. He moved a water line to accommodate the refrigerator moving from one wall to another. We started on July 5th and by July 22nd we were almost entirely done except for the countertop. We waited until July 29 for this to be installed. He then completed the plumbing needs. The cabinets included crown molding. Meanwhile I had hardwood floors installed in my home by a hardwood floor dealer. The original front door threshold did not match the new flooring. I purchased a new front door which Mr Nowack picked up for me (saving me delivery charges), then installed it in one morning and it fits perfectly. It is a big improvement over the old door. I plan a few more renovations yet this year but am happy to share my photos of before and after kitchen with others who may be looking for a good carpenter.
Description of Work: I was referred to Mr Nowack by my realtor when I purchased a 70s home with the original kitchen that needed remodeled. He came to evaluate my needs and his estimate for the labor was $2500-3000. If we had had no surprises, that would've probably been very close to the actual cost. But we did find some small surprises that added a bit more in labor and replacement costs. My total costs to him were ~$4800 but well over $1000 of that was materials, much of which Mr Nowack went out to purchase and saved the receipts. Also I might mention he did all this work during the terrible heat wave of July. While my AC was on, there was attic work involved. I found he went out of his way to do a good job. The pride he shows in his work is similar to what someone would be doing in their own home. He truly cares about the end product. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a competent handyman.
