Part of the repair cost was covered by a portion plan purchased thru my water company.

Consumer Beware! Avoid Avoid Avoid! What a nightmare! They had a guy come out on Jan 3rd and I was told they would be able to transfer my plumbing from one side of the tub to the other. So the date was set on Jan 17th. So I miss work to wait for them then I get a call 2 and 1/2 hours later saying they won't make it. WOW! Then I rescheduled with them for the 24th at 8 am. Brad showed up and said "you need a frame for you shower faucet before I can do anything". Again, I missed work, just to be to jacked around again. They could of told me this when they first came out! So, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and made another appointment with them! Stupid me. My carpenter (who built their "frame" for them) was waiting for them. Again, Brad shows up. He was going to use PEX tubing and my house has all copper. My carpenter told him not to use PEX but rather copper. He said he didn't know how! I'm mean really? A plumbing company that doesn't know how to sweat copper?? WOW! Don't even waste your time with these people. My carpenter has been waiting several weeks for these guys to do the plumbing so he can finish my bathroom and all we got was jacked around!

The project required extensive demolition, plumbing and electrical work directly and indirectly related to the job, before they were able to create a unique tile shower and cabinets that more than met my desires/specifications. The final touches were completed today to meet Jim Reading's extraordinarily high criteria for "A job well done! "

We had a broken pipe that was leaking when using the dishwasher. We didn't really know what was the problem, but the gentleman from Reading Plumbing figured it out immediately. He was able to get the parts to repair the pipe and hook back up our water supply line to our dishwasher. It was the best money spent and was very quick.

Friendly, professional. Job done well. This was a contractor through American Water Resources through contract.

I was really impressed with Brad's professionalism, knowledge and the work he performed. He explained everything to me and educated me on all of the shut off valves I have due to water filters and softeners. He also took the extra time to seal up holes in the sump pump lid that was installed by another provider. I was also impressed at the responsiveness of Reading and Sons. They kept me updated on when I could expect the workman to arrive with several phone calls which I really appreciated.

Getting someone here to do the work took a while. Everyone I spoke with was very nice and apologetic about being swamped, etc. So, we waited maybe five days for someone to come out and take a look. Then he returned a few days later to do the work. His estimate was realistic, he was helpful about other potential problems. He could have cleaned up more to our satisfaction, but as far as I can tell the work was done well.

Replaced plumbing in the utility room and bathroom.

Everything went well. The serviceman was very professional and explained his steps as he proceeded to do the job. The serviceman cleaned up after himself - which was very nice. I would definitely use them again.

It was a very difficult situation with the puncture being in a almost inaccessible place. They found the problem, cut that pipe off & installed a new line for that pipe. They cleaned up the mess that was created from the work & explained all the details of what they did.

Professional service beginning to end. He even moved old water heater to street for disposal. Cleaned up work area nicely.

Quality job and done in short amount of time.

Provider was prompt, efficient, and thorough. Did a great job installing the system. Took care to limit the noise when drilling through cement floor. Also installed the piping as agreed and was very happy how it turned out. Was not an eyesore as I feared it might be. Would definitely recommend!

it went very well. Toni during the first visit diagnosed the leaking faucet was being caused by an internal defect. After working with the original supplier, we were able to get the proper replacement parts. They came back when they were scheduled to do the installation. As the bathroom cabinet had a drawer design, he suggested contacting a carpenter to remove a drawer brace to allow for him to get to the underside of the faucet. The suggested contractor was great to work with. Toni was great to work with and did a quality job in a short time.

My OVERALL Experience Rating is based primarily on the performance of the plumber. The plumber sent to my home is excellent at his trade. His work is thorough and neat. I had one problem that, later, needed to be addressed and he arrived to correct it the following morning of my call. The office help is very insufficiant and rude and rather unapologetic for their errors. My appointment was made and no one showed. I called the office the following day and was told I was not in the book so I rescheduled and again, no show. Two hours after the appointed time I called the office, they did not call me, I was told to expect him in approximately one hour. Two and one half hours later I received a call informing me the appointment would need to be rescheduled, again. On the following appointed date the plumber did show and did a great job.

I was told the work may take two days, but could hopefully be done in one. Brad came out to do the work, and Jim showed up at the same time to go over the plan. They discussed it, and then Jim left Brad to complete it all. I had to leave to work, so I left Brad there by himself. I came back at 2:30 that afternoon and the work was almost complete. I reviewed everything he did, and I was very impressed by the work. He was done by about 3:30, and had me flush the toilet a few times and run the faucet & shower to ensure there were no leaks. I confirmed everything looked good, and he left. A few days later, my wife took a bath and I noticed there was a small leak from the overflow drain on the upstairs tub. It was apparent that this had leaked in the past (it had hard water deposits all over the pipe), and it was not disconnected during the work that was done, so it apparently got knocked during the work and began leaking again. I called and they sent out Mike a few days later (I told them it wasn't urgent), and he rrecommended a new drain assembly (which I agree it needs), but I told him fix it with silicone since we will be replacing the whole bathtub soon anyway. He agreed and I haven't had any leaks since. I am very happy with the work they did, and they were in line with other quotes I received. I would definitely use them again.

I had called a different plumber I had used before to inquire as to clean-out service as the house we just moved into was not draining in the tub, separate shower or bathroom sink which are all connected. This first plumber recommended a clean-out service they work with. They came and the old cast pipe broke out upon routing so we had to call the plumber to come and replace the old cast with plastic. Upon that replacement the clean-out guys came back but gave up after they could not get past a certain point. They referred me back to the plumbing outfit who came out and suggested more attempts or some pricey alterations. I ended up calling Reading and Son as I had already spent $175.00 on two attempted clean-outs and $375.00 on pipe replacement with no drainage improvement. Reading came the next day and tried a different approach and cleaned out the drain within an hour. They admitted they had the benefit of knowing what did not work on the last two attempts by the other company. The two guys from Reading seemed to have a better handle on plumbing, even tho clean-out techs are not usually plumbers. The other good thing about Reading and Son is that they handle both clean-out and plumbing, so unlike the other outfit, they wouldn't need to be attempting to talk to a different company to see what did or didn't work. That is significant in my mind, even tho Reading did not have to call in the plumber. As I have two rental houses in the area, I definitely need a competent plumber I can rely on. I would definitely call Reading again.

I was very please with the evaluation and quote provided to me. A couple days later, they were able to do the work. The install went smoothly and took about 5 hours. He showed up with all the parts required and got to work right away. Very professional.

Reading brought a camera to show me what was going on in my sewer line. They explained the problem and told me someone would call and schedule the work. They showed up when promised and did a great job.

Other than a few cancellations everything went well.

Diagnosed a problem in the basement that was causing my kitchen drain to back up. It was something that some plumbers would have missed. It had to do with the incline of the pipe based on the length of the run. Fixed the problem.

After we got a date nailed down, the crew showed up on time. They worked with my neighbor to get use of their property and remove and replace a fence. They were able to complete the job in 1 day rather than the estimated two. I wish they had spent more time when replacing the fill because they left rocks and other debris near the top which will make it hard to till later. Overall I'm very happy with my experience and would hire them again. I give them a B only because of the fill which probably could have been avoided by discussing it when they showed up.

iThe plumber used a rod to open my slow running, overflowing floor drain in the basement. It is now working. He was very professional.

The experience with Reading & Sons plumbing was outstanding. The plumber was very curteous and knowledgeable. He uninstalled the current broken dishwasher and installed the newly purchased dishwasher without damaging the cabinets, flooring or finish of the dishwasher. I have called Reading & Sons for all of my plumbing issues every since.
