General Masonry did a great job on my chimney and the top concrete cap. They completed all sill that need tuck pointing and also found other settlement cracks that were not part of the contract that they fix. I was very pleased with the job that they did.

The repair went very well! Jan Prusa was very responsive and came out almost immediately after contacting him and made several trips within a few days. The crack that I had had for many months was repaired in two days! I was very impressed with the work and he was very professional and effective, it was absolutely the right way to repair the leak I had every time we had severe rainstorms. I have had no leak issues since it was repaired 8 months ago. I am very satisfied and I have referred Jan Prusa to many other friends. I will definitely use him again!

The work was done very quickly, Everything was cleaned up and even the yard vacuumed. I was impressed with speed, quality and neatness. Very professional, courteous. Jan and his team were wonderful, they went above and beyond, very knowledgeable and polite, they covered surrounding area prior to starting the job and then used a special vacuum while grinding the old mortar so as not to create any cement dust, took pictures of before and after, chimney and flashing look great now, very happy!

Jan, peter and crew were very helpful! They stopped by and priced the job although he looked at the house next door he was able to solve the problem with pricing pretty quickly. They were able to inspect and take pictures so that we could see what the damage was. They waterproofed the chimney well as the work extended for couple of days. Jan is very knowledgeable and knows the issues that come up with chimney damage. They also wanted to make sure they did a good job.

Work look fine initially. But within two years the mortar has started to come off in several places and their guarantee for workmanship is only 1 yr. Would not hire again given the poor quality workmanship given that it already needs to be repaired.

Jan and his team were awesome! We live in a three flat that's about 10 years old and the building has had leaking almost since it was built. We went through two new roofs and were still experiencing leaking in the top unit. We reached out to a couple exterior repair companies and decided to use General Masonry for some tuckpointing and to replace the weepholes that were painted over at some point. Jan and his team were busy when we reached out so they started work on the weekend because they knew the leaking was damaging the interior of our units. They were so professional and you could tell they really knew what they were doing. They also seemed to be priced very reasonably for the extent of work they did on the building. They finished our job as quickly as they could and low and behold we finally have a sealed building! I can't recommend them enough. We will definitely use them again for any exterior building maintenance.

We have very high expectations and they completely exceeded them!! Jan, Peter and 3rd person (we didn't get his name) protected everything before getting started. They did a beautiful job. There were a couple areas where the framing was tied into the brick. We asked them to put some mortar in the voids but jan and team took it upon themselves to cut out the area around the void and fill it with a matching brick. They completely cleaned up once done. They were nice to boot. We plan to have them back for another project. Outstanding! Highly recommend.

This company did an excellent job from start to finish. Our chimney was in poor repair with sections of tuck pointing missing. Jan provided a detailed written assessment and estimate of the work needed. It included grinding out and tuck pointing the entire chimney and repairing and sealing the chimney cap. We were very pleased with the careful work and professionalism of the entire team. We would definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

We would HIGHLY recommend this company and would not hesitate to call them again. The quality of the work is excellent, they are VERY professional and cleaned up after their job. Additionally, they are great people and it was a pleasure doing business with them. We are selective in who we hire and inspect the work carefully for any service we receive. They are one of a small group of professionals we would call again and feel comfortable having at our home. We contacted them based on reviews after getting estimates from three other companies who tried to tell us we needed a chimmney rebuild and/or had a cracked flu so we needed new liners. The estimates for that work was ere in excess of $10,000. Skeptical of these companies who all gave totally different opinions with little or no convincing explaination we sought out actual Masons vs the one stop chimmney cleaning/repair companies that literally do 100s of estimates a week looking for the suckers or uneducated using the law of numbers. From our experience and research those companies are trying to sell services people do not need. I was was upfront with this company about the estimates and suggested repairs and they came back with an honest answer and fair price. They could have tried to sell me on a total rebuild but they did not because they are honest and explained what we needed and why in a convincing way representative of the true tradespeople they are. This company is a model for how all tradespeople should be and they take personal pride in their work and a job done to professional standards! Thank you!!

OH MY GOD. . these guys were AMAZING. They were very friendly and Very professional. . I am a new young single female homeowner so a lot of times contractors try to over charge me or take advantage of me. But these guys explained EVERYTHING to me and gave me a VERY GOOD PRICE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. These guys get 5 STARS!

H. Angie's and online notes were quite complimentary and seemed very desirable to me because my job was small but significant. I needed tp repair/replace part of foundation at front door which had crumbled but was hidden by the front stoop. This was revealed when the stoop was replaced and it was late October and bat weather was coming. I phoned the contractor several times, leaving a message until one time when message box was full. Because I thought perhaps the phone was not working properly or had been changed, and because it seemed like a small company I wanted to give them every opportunity. At one point I also sent them a letter to be sure the communication avenues were open and correct. When I finally could not wait any longer because time was essence I finally went with a different contractor. As I write this (Jan 2016) I called the contractor and talked with him. e said he had been out of the country and I told him that it would have been considerate to change his voice mail to reflect that. But I told him I would add the fact that he is still in business to this comment.
