Jan and his team did a great job. They started and finished in one day. Quote was done promptly and was easy to understand. We are asking Jan and team to come back and to do some more work.

Jan (pronounced John) returned our call for an estimate promptly. He came to inspect the damage and provided a quote, and explained that the cause of the damage was water seepage into cracks in the mortor which froze over the winter and caused the bricks to bulge and crack further. He also took measurements of the entire balcony. He arrived on time on the day of the repair, and brought all of the replacement brick, mortar, and tools with him. Jan worked uninterrupted for about three hours and cleaned up all the removed brick and mortar. He explained that the paint would need to be applied at least three days later. He returned a week later, when it was convenient for us, and did a great job painting the balcony with Modac paint tinted to the color we specified. Jan was professional and very easy to deal with. The quality of his workmanship was excellent and he charged us exactly what he quoted us.

Since it was a small job, it was easy to schedule and job was completed fast. Jan was very professional and we are satisfied with the quality of his work. Compared to other quotes, the price was competitive and working indoors was not a problem (other companies I called only do masonry work outdoors). He protected our hardwood floors and leave no mess.

Jan is punctual, arrived for both estimates and work as planned. He and his crew are very professional, kept to their appointed schedule. They finished their work on time and cleaned up all areas. Jan seems to be geared toward both doing a great job and making sure that job is to the customer's satisfaction. This reviewer is certainly extremely satisfied with their work and definitely plan to have them work on my brick 2 flat whenever masonry work is required. Since my building was built in 1910, it will need ongoing brick work. Thank you for a good job, Jan!!!

Jan is professional and pleasant to deal with. His price (although not the cheapest) was definitely lower than many of the other bids we received. He did a beautiful job (and it was painstaking) of removing/grinding out the old mortar in the affected areas. The construction foreman from the foundation company commented on what a thorough job Jan had done. Once the foundation was repaired, Jan returned and did a spectacular job of restoring the mortar that had been removed. The work was neat, professional, and accompanied by a great cleanup job at the end of work. I am having Jan give me an estimate for some additional work that we are thinking about having done. A nice person who is a craftsman, works for a fair price and does quality work. What more could you ask for?

Jan is a professional. After getting two other estimates from masonry companies, Jan came to give me an estimate on the windows and when I asked about the seepage in the closet, he found the cracks almost immediately. We agreed on the time he would come and make the repairs and he showed up when he said he would. He did a great job! Since I have a brick house, I will definitely hire him again.

Jan and his crew are conscientious, efficient, professional, and best of all do beautiful work. He is punctual, honest, and detail oriented. I have had one large project and one smaller project that Jan completed on time and in budget. His work is outstanding and made a huge, positive difference in the appearance and structural integrity of the buildings. He gives timely, accurate estimates and completes the job on time and leaves the job site clean and tidy. Jan has done complete tuckpointing and masonry on one of my properties and brick replacement/tuckpointing on another. The first job went so well I immediately referred a friend that need masonry work to him. The pride he takes in his work shows and I would highly recommend his company.

We called General masonry restoration and set up an appointment for very next day. Jan was professional, on time and fully explained the root of the of the problem. The work was done neatly and within the time frame Jan had promised, witch was greatly appreciated due to my busy schedule. Most of all after first rain our basement is dry.

I cannot say enough about what a great experience we had overall with John Construction. Jan responded to my email inquiry immediately, and he was patient with my emails back and forth trying to find the best time to come out and give an estimate. When I finally found a good time for him to come out, he arrived on time and did a very thorough and honest inspection and assessment of the work that needed to be done. Rather than include more work than needed to be done, he explained that he only needed to grind out the damaged brick and would use a mortar to match the mortar that was still in good condition. (We had water damage from a leaky roof, so the damage was not widespread on the home.) He sent over his estimate via email that same evening, and it was MORE than reasonable. I had secured estimates from other companies before John Construction came out; whereas a couple of the other estimates were a few hundred dollars more, one of the previous estimates was over double what Jan offered - which was reasonable and fair. Having to schedule based on my summer pay schedule, he was once again patient with finding a date to come out and do the work. Jan and his partner came out on the scheduled date (a Saturday) - they arrived on time and were very professional, introducing the partner by name and ensuring that we knew exactly what would be done to the house. They got to work right away with the grinding, which took about 3 hours. They followed with a thorough clean up of the dust and then got right to work with the tuckpointing. Each time we came outside to see the progress, they both stopped and gave us an overview of how things were going; once again, very friendly and professional. When they finished a very long and hot day of work, their clean-up job was impeccable, especially considering the messy job that the grinding entails! Since we weren't home when they finished and left, Jan sent an email to follow up to ensure that we were happy with the work. Overall, I can't say enough about John Construction and our experience with them. We will undoubtedly go to them in the future for all of our masonry needs!

John did very good work, he and his crew were punctual and professional.

He was quick, neat, and did more work than was on the estimate without charging us extra.
