CRC Concrete Raising & Repair

Over the years my front concrete step has separated from the stoop and sunk into the ground. The rear concrete step had pulled away from the house, as the section of concrete patio sunk, and had become unleveled. Both were becoming hazards. I had gotten estimates to replace the steps, one estimate was for over $1000.00 per step. After looking on Angie's List I called CRC. Paul Petersen was out the next day. Paul said that CRC could make the needed repairs and gave me an estimate for lower than the cost of replacing just one step from the other contractor. My original work date had to be cancelled due to a heavy storm in our area. When I told the lady on the phone I would like the work done before Halloween because I was concerned about children using the stair she made sure to get a crew out ASAP. When the crew arrived they were polite, quick, and clean. The foreman of the crew gave me suggestions to make additional repairs that I could do on my own to avoid future damage to the stairs. I couldn't be happier with the work; the stairs are raised and level and the patio section is raised and pitched away from the house to avoid further problems. I would recommend CRC to anyone that might need similar work done.

I was able to schedule an appointment for an estimate within days of discovering the crack and to schedule a time for the repair work within days after that. The entire process from my first phone contact with the company to the completion of the repair was handled efficiently and professionally and I am very satisfied with the results. Both the estimator and the repair technician showed up when they were supposed to and the repair was accomplished quickly and with a minimal amount of disturbance to either the inside or the outside of the house.

They were on time and performed their service. they matched the price of a competitor, would recommend to another person.

Very well. I was looking for some answers, some guidance as to how I could solve my wet basement issues, and I received good help on the phone, without any attempt to sell me something I didn't need.

CRC arrived at the beginning of the two-hour window we had agreed to, although it wasn't necessary for us to be present. Raised the walk section up to local code, making sure wood slats between aggregate sections were now level and flush with the walk surface. In order to raise the walk, six holes (about three inches in diameter) were drilled in two walk sections. Once the "raising" was completed, they refilled the holes, then applied a pebble-sand-concrete mixture at the top of the holes to blend better with the walkway's aggregate surface. Having raised these walk sections previously about 12 years ago, we know that the hole aggregate will blend with the original surface over time, probably about three months. CRC did a complete clean-up and left some printed guidance on when we could begin walking on the repaired walk (six hours after the repair). CRC's pricing is fair--not cheap--but the quality of the work is excellent and the company guarantees it will remain level for four years.

After the heavy rainfall a couple of weeks ago we had an area in the basement that got wet. Since using the crack team several years ago we have not had a water problem since, so I knew something was amiss. We had to have some drywall removed and when we did, we found a nice fresh crack where the floor joist lays in the foundation. A quick call to the crack team was returned the next morning, and an appointment was set for the next day. Kevin showed up on time and got to work. A couple of hours later all is back to normal in the basement with the exception of the drywall. Good thing we were planning on paint and new carpeting anyways. The Crack Team has always been very friendly, easy to deal with and professional.

Overall, exverything was fantastic! From start to finish I couldn't have asked for more. From Kristy on the phone to Paul to the repair team, everyone was pleasant and competent. Cracks in the foundation wall were fixed. How do I know? A 7" rainfall 3 days after the repair proved there were no water leaks. And, while the work that was perfromed was outstanding, the best part of this company is their customer service attitude that comes through loud and clear when you speak with them. As President of the International Customer Service Association/Illinois (Icsatoday.org) I am a stickler for quality customer service. These folks provide it.

They did great. I really appreciated the professionalism of the man that did the work (Kevin Terry). I also appreciated the customer service representative. When I made my original appointment, someone else cancelled, and she went out of her way to call me back to let me know that there was a cancellation. They were not patronizing, they explained everything that needed to be done, and did not try to sell me additional services. Also, they gave me a previous customer discount (that I didn't even know about) without me asking.

They were responsive to my call, and setting up a time for the estimate. The job completion followed about one and a half weeks later. I would have preferred more than a 24 hour notice.

Company representatives were extrememely responsive from the start of the quote process all the way through to completion of the work. The walkway was raied back to its original height as promised. The only minus to the whole experience is that I was expecting the areas where the holes had been drilled and filled to be slightly less conspicuous. The areas were a bit larger than I was expecting (compared to work I've seen done in the past). I will still use them again in the future!

I first noticed the parking lot had a lot of areas where the concrete had sunk. It was becoming a liability issue as well as looking bad. Paul came out and took a look at it. He assured me he could greatly improve it and put off the cost of a replacement driveway for a few years or more. He gave me what I thought to be a very fair price to repair the spots. He told me they would be out early in the morning, showed up on time and got it taken care of. The crew chief (I forget his name) was very nice and made sure to come get me when finished, and make sure I was happy. After we had finished, I stood out in the lot looking things over a little closer and was quite impressed at how they were cleaning up after themselves. It's been about a month and all the pieces have stayed put. I am very pleased and would recommend them highly.

The very short version is that I did not receive an estimate. My estimate was scheduled for between 4 and six so I could be home from work in time to meet with the estimator. Paul called me at about 11 to ask if he could come earlier because the heavy rain the night before had caused an opening in his schedule. I told him okay, that I would not be present, but described what we wanted done and added that I was willing to discuss alternative solutions for the patio. He made a suggestion regarding potential replacements for the spacers, and said that he'd call if he had problems. He also said that he'd leave the estimate in the front door. When I got home that afternoon, there was no estimate waiting for me, nor any other evidence that he had been there. I thought that I had misunderstood him, and that maybe he was going to send it separately after obtaining some additional pricing on the spacers. When no estimate arrived, I called Paul directly to inquire, but he never returned my message. Admittedly, I did not contact the main office to follow up.

I had called a very well-advertised waterproofing company who scheduled a 90-minute appointment for 2.5 weeks in advance. I was very concerned with this long wait as I feared rains and more water in my basement. I scoped out Angie's List again and called The Crack Team on a Tuesday morning. Paul, the owner came out to survey the damage that very evening. I've dealt with waterproofers before who have told me I might have to add another sump pump, build trenches along my walls, etc. and I feared I was gonna hear the same thing. Not only that...the dust and mess previously was incredible!! Not so this time. Paul was very reassuring, told me the wall was patched poorly and reassured me he was gonna make it right with virtually no dust. He explained the process, wrote out the estimate and in all maybe took up a 1/2 hour of my time. He said this girls would call in the morning to schedule the work. Well the morning came and went and I started thinking "here we go again". So in the afternoon I call the office and the girl tells me she called first thing in the morning and left a message on my home phone. The following Monday morning, right on time, Kevin arrived to repair the crack....and guess what...NO DUST! I was extremely impressed with The Crack Team from start to finish.

The entire process went very smoothly, from the initial email from me to request a quote, to receiving the quote and completion of job. Estimator arrived on time and fully explained the process to me. The day the work was to be performed the crew arrived in the time frame given to me and they were courteous, clean, and professional. The work was quickly completed and they cleaned up after themselves. They explained to me what they were doing and how they were going to handle an unexpected situation that came up. I would reccommend this company to any friends or neighbors who needed to have concrete raised.

CRC was polite when I initially called to schedule an estimate. The salesman arrived on time, was polite and courteous, and quoted me a reasonable estimate. After scheduling my appointment the workers promptly arrived, did their job, explained the process and left it as clean as it was when they started. The results were beautiful and is holding up well. I would highly recommend this professional company to do work at your home or business.

I called the company and the secretary said someone would call me back shortly. And as promised they did call back and made an appointment to meet my boyfriend. My boyfriend spoke with him and asked him all the questions in regards to the problem.

From the initial contact via CRC's web site, to the on-site visit and the follow-up estimate, and through the actual work being completed today, Paul and his crew were punctual, professional, and great to work with! Paul even suggested where I should stand to get the best viewing angle while the concrete was lifted. Amazing process. The prior owners of my home did little on upkeep, so about 1/4 of the slab floor in the garage had started sinking in one corner. When I had my new garage door hung, the installer had to go to heroic measures to fully seal around and under the door given the gap. Paul said he didn't do estimates on jobs he didn't think he'd be able to do, and even patiently answered many of my questions via phone after he provided the estimate. They gave me a two hour window today and showed up around 45 minutes into that window. They took care to keep the entire process clean, and swept the concrete dust out of the garage, hosed down the left over filler, and even hosed down the grass in my yard where the truck loaded the concrete filler mixer into their pumping machine. The process was incredibly fast - only took about 30 min. from start to finish. I said above I'd use them again, but hopefully, I won't have to! The 4-year warranty provided tells me Paul's confident in his work. It was nice to have Paul, the owner, on-site during the job to explain every step of the process. I had a finished basement and had to remove the drywall to expose the entire crack. Called the Crack Team and received a callback for an appt. in 2 days. John Fergus came out and explained the entire process and walked the perimeter of the house to check for any other issues. A week later the work was completed. The guy explained the entire process, was very quiet and cleaned up afterward.

I had had some seepage in basement so upon the company's suggestion I made holes in the drywall and sure enough, there was a crack. I was able to get a repair appointment the next day, since someone else had postponed their scheduled date; otherwise I would have had to wait a week. (Other service providers were quoting a 12-14 day wait for a repair appointment.) The repair took about 1-1/2 hours, about how long I was told to expect it to take. Kevin cleaned up everything and was quiet during his work. He told me exactly what he was doing, the materials he used, and to call if there were any further seepage from the crack since they guarantee their work forever. The price was at the low end of the estimates I'd received ($300-$475) with their coupon. I recommend this company and I am very picky!

We would absolutely hire the Crack team in the future, though this time they just advised us that we needed a different type of service provider. Every aspect of our interaction with this company was outstanding - they completely impressed us! We called the Crack team because our basement carpet was soaked with water along one wall. We had no idea where the water was coming from. They scheduled the appointment within 2 weeks, called the day before to say they would arrive between 8-8:30 am and then showed up at 8:10 am. John Fergus drove out to our house, assessed the situation and advised me that I really need a gutter company, not a foundation repair specialist. He made 3 suggestions for ways to improve our home and protect from water damage - all of them were precisely excellent ideas. He did not even need to give us an estimate since our foundation is fine. Thus, we didn't pay anything but felt he helped us immensely. I would call John at the Crack team first for any foundation issue in the future. (Also, if the other ideas do not help, we will have to open a wall and then bring the Crack team in to inspect the area behind it. We will not hesitate to call them if it becomes necessary). I advise anyone who thinks they may have a foundation problem to call this company.

They were professional and answered all the questions I had about the repair. It only took about 10-15 minutes for the estimate on one day and then another day to fix all 3 cracks. There is an odor for a few hours from the material they use, but that dissipates after a few hours. If you have a finished basement you will need to remove the drywall to expose the crack for them to do their estimate. They don't do this for you. Luckily I already had a contractor on site doing other repairs so I just had him remove the drywall for me. The repair comes with a Lifetime of the Structure Warranty for the cracks that they fix and can be transferred to the next owner. The other estimate I got wouldn't provide a warranty. Best of all we haven't had any more water in the basement. I would use them again for any future cracks, but I'm hoping I never see them again. :-)

The Crack Team represenative came the day after I called to give an estimate. Two days later, they fixed the crack. They also fixed a couple of other cracks that looked like they would become problems. Everything was explained well, and the worker cleaned up afterwards. We haven't had a problem with water in our basement since!

John Fergus came out to our home to provide an estimate. He was on time, professional and described in detail the procedures they would follow for filling the crack along with their life of the house guaranty. In the estimate he provided for the Angies List discount and left the contract with me to consider and sign. We also received another estimate from another company that was higher even though the description of the work and the materials they would be using were essentially identical to the Crack team. On the scheduled date of the service the crack team showed up at the designated time. Filled the crack and left the work area clean. That night we had a torrential downpour and no water leaked from the filled crack so it worked perfectly. I would recommend this firm.
