They came about a week after our phone call, their earliest appointment. We called other basement waterproofing companies, but the others' earliest appointments were several weeks later. Work was estimated on the first visit and the procedure explained. They came back a few days later to do the work. No water has penetrated the crack since then. They cleaned up their area before leaving.
Description of Work: They injected a substance into a 4 ft. crack in the basement wall to stop leaking.

The foundation crack was discovered during the last phase of a basement remodeling project. The Crack Team company quoted me the price over the phone after I described the problem and explained that I needed to schedule the work as soon as possible because the remodeling work could not go forward until it was fixed. I had contacted 2 other companies and although the cost was comparable, those 2 companies could not accommodate me for 1 to 2 weeks. The Crack Team was able to schedule and complete the work within 1 day. The workman arrived during the time range the office gave me. The technician explained how he would accomplish the repair and answered my questions. The work is guaranteed. I would hire this company again if the need arises.
Description of Work: I hired the Crack Team to repair a foundation wall crack. The process took a couple of hours to complete. The technician was prompt, courteous and efficient.

We appreciate your kind words and your sharing your experience with The Crack Team. We're happy that we were able to help you out and accommodate your tight schedule. As an fyi for you and your fellow Angie's List Members, always give The Crack Team a try when you have a tight schedule (and even if you don't, please call us first!). For years we have been working closely with the real estate community and have always operated with some flexibility in our schedule to accommodate "emergencies" involving closing dates, move ins, etc. In addition, we have a sister company (that does concrete raising, leveling, stabilizing - CRC Concrete Raising) and we cross train crews to do both foundation/waterproofing repairs and concrete raising. This also give us the ability to schedule those repairs that have time constraints by shifting qualified technicians from one type of repair to another. Note: During very busy times, we may not be able to always accommodate your needs/schedule, but we sure will try!

I was very pleased with the entire process of the Crack Team. We're having our basement remodeled and I called the Crack Team on a late afternoon Wednesday after tear-down exposed all the cracks. They did an estimate over the phone (based on me reciting the cracks I saw) and came out the very next morning, fixed our cracks, and thus we were able to start framing the next day. The gentleman was here for about 5 hours, worked diligently throughout the time, and cleaned up very nicely after he was completed. I was very happy with them and would definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: They repaired 8 cracks in our basement - approximately 32 linear feet. They used 72 injection ports, injected TeamFlex to fill cracks and then sealed the cracks & ports with TeamSeal.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO BOTH BID ON YOUR PROJECT AND THEN COMPLETE THE WORK. YOUR ABILITY TO EXPLAIN IN DETAIL WHAT YOU SAW IN YOUR BASEMENT ALLOWED US TO REVIEW THE REQUIRED WORK WITH ONE OF OUR SALESMEN/TECHNICIANS AND THEN TO PRICE IT FOR YOU ON THE PHONE. WE WERE THEN ABLE TO GET YOUR OK AND SCHEDULE A TECHNICIAN FOR THE NEXT MORNING. THIS HELPED US OUT IMMENSELY AS A LARGE JOB HAD JUST BEEN POSTPONED - THIS WOULD HAVE MEANT A DAY OFF FOR ONE OF OUR TECHNICIANS. SO NOT ONLY WERE WE ABLE TO HELP YOU OUT BY COMPLETING THE JOB QUICKLY, YOU WERE ABLE TO HELP US KEEP A TECHNICIAN BUSY. AND THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO COMPLETE THIS REPORT ON ANGIE'S LIST. IF THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE WE CAN DO FOR YOU, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL. THANK YOU AGAIN- BOTH FOR THE OPPORTUNITY AND FOR THINKING OF THE CRACK TEAM FOR YOUR FOUNDATION REPAIR NEEDS.

I called them the morning after we discovered a bad leak in our basement wall. That was on a Friday, and we set up an app't for Monday (since it couldn't be repaired until the wall was dry anyway...). The repair man was right on time and the cost was exactly as quoted. I am very satisfied, and now 3 weeks after the repair (and some heavy rain), all looks good in the basement!
Description of Work: We had an 8' vertical crack in our unfinished basement's wall that leaked heavily after a lot of rain. The Crack Team was very responsive and seemed reasonably priced.

AS A SIDE NOTE, WE CAN DEFINITELY FIX PROBLEM AREAS THAT ARE NOT DRY AS LONG AS WATER IS NOT FLOWING. Without a doubt I will use them again.
Description of Work: I had a crack in my poured concrete basement wall steaming from the window to the ground. I have had two other similar cracks and knew what I wanted done. I am getting this house ready to rent so I was on a time crunch. I called another company and they couldn't even get out to give me an estimate for 4 weeks. I looked on Angie's List and found The Crack Team. I called and told them that I was in a hurry and exactly what I wanted. The person on the other end was very understanding and said that she could schedule the work right away. She quoted me a price (she even through in a coupon for $50 off) and we scheduled a time for later that week. I met them at the house and they were right on schedule. I even asked for a phone call when they were 30 min. away and he called when he was supposed to. He did a quick assessment wrote the proposal and then started working. He was very professional and finished the job quickly and neatly. He cleaned up after himself and answered all my questions. I found a new basement crack repair team and for a real estate investor like me that is huge to find a company that is this responsive, and understanding.

WE'RE SORRY THAT THE SERVICE YOU RECEIVED FROM THE CRACK TEAM WAS NOT SATISFACTORY. WE PRIDE OURSELVES ON THE TOP NOTCH CUSTOMER SERVICE WE PROVIDE TO OUR CUSTOMERS. WE LOOKED AT YOUR FILE AND FOUND THAT OUR PHONE CALLS TO YOU WERE NOT ANSWERED OR RETURNED. THE TECHNICIAN WANTED TO REVIEW SOME ISSUES PRIOR TO COMPLETING AND FORWARDING THE PROPOSAL. The work was done on time; however, I've had the same problem with the crack--it leaks in heavy rains, or continuing rains. I have called them twice during the summer months to make good on their "guarantee for life" and despite being told that they will call me back "when free" -- I haven't heard a thing from them. Pretty much $650 paid for nothing. It continues to leak.

DEAR MEMBER: AS WE WERE VERY DISTURBED TO READ YOUR REPORT TODAY, WE PULLED OUT YOUR FILE IMMEDIATELY. IT APPEARS WE DID A REPAIR FOR YOU ON APRIL 17, 2008. WE CLEANED OUT 2 PROBLEM CRACKS THAT WERE PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED (NOT BY US) AND THEN SEALED AND INJECTED BOTH. THE COST AFTER THE ANGIE'S LIST DISCOUNT WAS $630. YOU CONTACTED US SHORTLY AFTER THE REPAIR AND INDICATED THAT YOU SAW SOME WATER NEAR THE BOTTOM OF ONE OF THE CRACKS. OUR TECHNICIAN RETURNED FOR A WARRANTY REPAIR ON APRIL 25 AND RESEALED AND RE-INJECTED THE PROBLEM AREA. THE SERVICE REQUEST WAS THEN CLOSED. SUBSEQUENT DISCUSSION WITH YOU INDICATED THAT YOU HAD A PROBABLE ISSUE WITH HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE AS THE WATER WAS COMING THROUGH THE FLOOR AND COVE JOINT. ACCORDING TO OUR CONVERSATION WITH YOU, THE CRACKS THAT WE REPAIRED WERE NOT THE PROBLEM. WE PROVIDED YOU WITH SOME INFORMATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS AND WE DID NOT HEAR ANYTHING FURTHER FROM YOU AFTER THE LAST CONVERSATION. WE ARE VERY PROUD OF OUR GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE INCLUDING OUR WARRANTY SERVICE WORK. BUT, WE CANNOT WARRANTY WORK THAT WE DID NOT DO. OUR REPAIR WAS SOUND THE LAST TIME WE SPOKE TO YOU. IF THAT IS NOT THE CASE TODAY, PLEASE CONTACT US.

DEAR MEMBER. WE RECEIVE HUNDREDS OF CALLS FROM CUSTOMERS EXPERIENCING WATER INFILTRATION IN FINISHED BASEMENTS. OTHER COMPANIES (WE HEAR THIS FROM OUR CUSTOMERS EVERY DAY!) MAY COME OUT AND, WITHOUT PROPERLY DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM, PROPOSE VERY COSTLY REPAIRS. WITH PROPER DIAGNOSIS, THE CRACK TEAM WILL MORE OFTEN THAT NOT, PROPOSE A MUCH MORE ECONOMICAL SOLUTION THAT IS JUST AS EFFECTIVE IF NOT MORE SO. WE HAVE FOUND THAT ABOUT 85% OF THE TIME, WHEN WE RECOMMEND THAT FOUNDATION WALLS BE EXPOSED, THE PROBLEM IS EXPOSED. THIS ALLOWS US TO PROPERLY PROPOSE A SOLUTION AND TO PROVIDE THE SOLUTION THAT IS COST-EFFECTIVE AND PERMANENT. OFTEN OUR SOLUTIONS COST HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS VS. THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AS PROPOSED BY OTHER COMPANIES. WHEN WE SUGGEST TAKING DOWN THE DRYWALL/PANELING SO THAT WE CAN SEE THE FOUNDATION WALLS, IT IS FOR A VERY GOOD REASON AND FOR THE BENEFIT OF OUR CUSTOMERS. AS A SIDE NOTE, MANY OF OUR CUSTOMERS FIND MOLD AND/OR MILDEW UPON OPENING THE WALLS. WATER HAS BEEN SEEPING IN OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME EVEN THOUGH NOT PREVIOUSLY NOTICED. WE TRULY UNDERSTAND THE HARDSHIP OF REMOVING SOME PANELING OR DRYWALL IN A FINISHED AREA. BUT, IN ORDER TO HELP YOU DIAGNOSE THE WATER PROBLEM (AND THEN TO FIX IT), IT IS SOMETIME NECESSARY. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT US FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR PROBLEM.

This repair was necessitated by water coming in during the colossal rains in Sept 2008. I called on a Saturday as the water was pouring down the wall in the basement. They scheduled an estimate for the next week after ascertaining how bad the damage might be. The estimator was prompt, extremely courteous and knowledgeable --he explained well beyond what I ever wanted to know about sealing a basement wall. I was so impressed that I accepted their bid on the spot. I had another bid from someone who had done work for us before. The prices were equivalent but the guarantees were not. The Crack Team guaranteed for the life of the building while the other contractor guaranteed for only 10 years. The repairs were done efficiently and within the time estimated. This is a professional operation in every way. I would recommend them without hesitation. My neighbor is going to get an estimate from them as a result of my experience.
Description of Work: Company repaired two 16 linear ft cracks with 2 sewer services. They attached 28 injection ports, sealed the cracks with "teamseal" and injected "team flex" to fill cracks and sewer service areas. This work is guaranteed for the life of the building.

Our overall experience was excellent. We have been living in a very stressful situation and these guys did a great job. I am so happy that we found this company and we hope that we don't have to use them again (no more cracks), but if we do, they will be the only company we call. Thanks!
Description of Work: We moved into a house and the owners told us they never had water in their basement over the 3 years of living in the home. We discovered a crack in the foundation after doing some mold remediation on a few walls. We looked at the foundation and discovered a long crack that ran along the stairwell. We immediately called The Crack Team and had the best customer service asked for. The woman was so helpful and quickly responded. They sent Kevin out to examine the crack. We ad to take out the stairs so he could get to the entire crack. We also had other water issues a few days later and they sent John over within a few hours.

What I did not envision though is that the front entrance way would be cracked from one end to the other. Apparently there is no way to keep concrete from cracking when drilling the holes to raise the concrete. I am sure if this was told to me by the person giving the estimate I would never have chosen this route. It solves the initial problem but has added a new one in that as you walk up to my front door there is a large crack that is the length (about 4 feet long) of the entrance way platform. Instead of improving the look of my home I feel I have made it worse. I am not sure what if any options I have now to correct this problem. This is obviously not the solution that should be made if this is your entrance way. I don't know if the company was just not careful or it really can not be helped that when you drill holes in concrete it will crack as I was told by the head of the crew. Either way I am really sorry I made this choice for my home. I am not sure who to blame the company or my ignorance that this is not the right thing to do if you do not want cracks on your front stoop.
Description of Work: I have a rather large front entrance way that is concrete. The ground around it had sunk and there was an opening between the walkway and the entrance of two to three inches. In the winter especially we had animals seeking shelter and my elderly mother had trouble getting up and down since it was about 6 to 8 inches from the walk to the entrance porch. I called for some ideas and one would have been just to add an extra step. I decided to have the current walkway lifted and they also added concrete under the entrance platform. They drilled a hole in the sidewalk and in the entrance way. Pumped it full of concrete and now the step is about 4 inches and there is no hole for animals.

DEAR MEMBER: AS CRC CONCRETE RAISING PRIDES ITSELF ON QUALITY WORK AND OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE, WE ARE DISAPPOINTED THAT YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THE WORK. BUT, I'D LIKE TO CLARIFY A FEW THINGS NOT DISCUSSED IN YOUR REPORT. FIRST, OUR CONTRACT CLEARLY INDICATES THAT DUE TO THE NATURE OF CONCRETE, WE CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR CONCRETE THAT CRACKS UPON RAISING. ALTHOUGH CRC EXPERIENCES VERY LITTLE CRACKING DUE TO OUR MAINTAINED EQUIPMENT AND EXPERIENCED CREWS, IT DOES HAPPEN ON OCCASION. IT APPEARS THAT YOUR CONCRETE - WHETHER DUE TO AGE, HOW IT WAS POURED, QUALITY OF MATERIAL, ETC. - HAD MANY CRACKS THROUGHOUT YOUR PROPERTY, INCLUDING ANOTHER CRACK ON THE PORCH, MANY ON THE DRIVEWAY AND ON THE SERVICE WALKS. IN ADDITION, AS YOU INDICATE IN YOUR REPORT, YOU HAD A VERY LARGE VOID UNDER YOUR FRONT PORCH WHICH NEEDED TO BE FILLED TO PREVENT FURTHER SINKING AND CRACKING OF YOUR HEAVY PORCH. THERE WAS VERY LITTLE SUPPORT FOR THE HEAVY CONCRETE PORCH WHICH EVENTUALLY WOULD HAVE CAVED IN IN THE MIDDLE (RESULTING IN CRACKING, CRUMBLING, ETC.) WE SEE THIS EVERYDAY WHEN CUSTOMERS WAIT TOO LONG TO FILL THESE LARGE VOIDS. BY FILLING THAT VOID WITH OUR HIGH CONTENT CEMENT SLURRY, WE HELPED PREVENT MUCH MORE EXTREME DAMAGE. PUTTING AN ADDITIONAL STEP IN WOULD HAVE COST MORE THAN OUR CONCRETE RAISING AND WOULD NOT HAVE SOLVED YOUR LARGER PROBLEM. WE'RE SORRY THAT YOU HAVE 1 MORE CRACK TO ADD TO THE OTHER CRACKS THROUGHOUT YOUR PROPERTY, BUT WE KNOW THAT THE JOB WAS DONE CORRECTLY AND SOLVED A LARGE PROBLEM THAT WOULD HAVE GOTTEN LARGER. PLEASE CONTACT WITH ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE.

The Crack Team arrived at the pre-arranged time to give me a free estimate. I liked that their work came with a lifetime transferrable warrranty. The 2nd quote I received was from a Crack Team competitor. The quote did not come with a lifetime warranty. The 2nd company told me that if I wanted a lifetime warranty I should call The Crack Team! The Crack Team repair appointment was set up for noon to 2pm. The repairman called me about 12:30pm to tell me he would be at my home around 2pm. He arrived on time, quickly made the repairs, showed me the work that was done and cleaned up. When I told him AngiesList was offering a 10% off coupon, he discounted his price 10% and was on his way.
Description of Work: I had a small crack and a large crack in my home's foundation. The Crack Team repaired both cracks.
