Great.
Description of Work: I had a basement crack leaking water. After I described my crack size and told them of my experience with this type of repair, they scheduled an appointment and came out promptly. Another great experience from Angie's List.

Description of Work: Concrete walk leading to stoop at front door had sunk about 2". CRC Concrete Raising & Repair visited my home to look at the situation and prepared an estimate on the spot. The representative fully explained the process and the results to be expected. I accepted the proposal a few days later and made an appointment for the work to be done. The crew showed up about an hour earlier than the scheduled time and did the work quickly and completely, including cleanup afterwards. Overall I was partially satisfied with the job that was done. I would have given an overall rating of A if the crew had been a little more careful about walking all over the surrounding ground cover and if they had taken a little more time to try to match the concrete that was used to fill the holes. They could have done a better job of mixing the meramac gravel in the filler material to match the existing concrete walkway. I definitely got the feeling that the crew was rushing to complete the job and get on to the next one. I have called and requested them to come out and look at the work done on the holes and filling the holes. Still have not received a call back

Response from CRC Concrete Raising & Repair
We are extremely disappointed by your negative report and by the fact that you are no longer happy with the very successful project we completed for you. On July 25, 2011 we raised your front service walk with you watching the entire time. You asked that we raise it more than standard in order to accomodate you and your wife's difficulties. Our crew did a great job changing your step up to the stoop from 9" to 6" per your request. You told the crew chief you were happy with the job, the patching, the cleanup, etc., wrote a check and the crew was on their way. No complaints - just a happy customer! 5 days later - on July 30 - you left a message that the concrete raising was great, but the holes that were filled didn't match the rest of the service walk. And you wrote an Angie's List Report giving us A's with a couple of B's due to the hole fill not matching. Kristy called you back on Monday morning and I talked with you Monday afternoon. In order to raise concrete, holes must be drilled so we can pump a cement slurry under the slabs. The slabs are then raised thru volume and pressure. We fill the holes with a mixture of sand and cement and cannot match this fill to the rest of the slab. Concrete is poured different colors, as it ages it turns darker, etc. But, as explained to you, there are things you can do to try and blend the filled holes with the existing concrete. But, you didn't want to hear that. Instead, you went back to change your Angie's List Report and to lower our grades even further. We're sorry you have unrealistic expectations regarding the color/texture of the fill. But, please remember that Kevin had this discussion with you on 7/13 when he was at your home and did the Estimate/Proposal. It was your choice to go forward with concrete raising vs. concrete replacement. Concrete replacement is the only way to correct your issue without drilling holes. This would have cost you a minimum of 3 - 4 times the cost of the concrete raising. It is a choice all of our customers have to make. In addition, your new report indicates that we were "early". We provide ESTIMATED times of arrival - our crew does 4-5 jobs each day and moves from one job to the next. We never know exactly how long each job will take. Your also indicated that our crew rushed through your job. Our crew didn't rush. They work quickly and efficiently - and most of our customers appreciate that. And finally, you mentioned in your report that the crew was on your ground cover. Well, they need to access the areas to be raised - the work we do is heavy construction with wheel barrows, motorized pumps, crew of 3, etc. They in no way damaged any of your surrounding ground cover although they needed to walk on it to do your project. Please call the office. We will be happy to review again some of the techniques you can use to minimize the different look of the filled holes. But, please be happy that you now have a service walk going to your front door that you and your wife can use more comfortably.

Very well.
Description of Work: We had a floor crack that leaked when we forced water through the sump drain system to flush it out. Mr. Peterson felt that the condition would not repeat itself in normal conditions, and that their normal sealing process which works for walls would not work for a floor. He did have a surface sealant that could be applied on top of the crack and felt that it would do the job. The Angie's List discount was applied to their minimum $350 fee.
