Kohring Electric

Excellent, considering. After the recent flooding in Des Plaines, the City inspector came out and indicated that all conduit and wiring laying in the bottom track of the stud wall needed to be removed and replaced (this was not the case 4 years ago when the river last flooded our office). Once we found out, we called Mike right away based on our previous experience with his work in our home. He promptly showed up when he said he would (the next day I believe) and promptly quoted the work. After reviewing his projected costs compared to our other vendor, we decided to proceed with Mike due to competive cost and schedule. Knowing what a bind we were in due to lost revenue and needing the get the space up and running, Mike gave up his Sunday to come and complete the work. It took him right in the middle of what he expected in terms of time and cost. Very appreciative of the work performed, and will certainly call Kohring Electric for any further electric needs at our home or business.

He made sure I knew what it was I wanted and was aware of the costs and effort involved and the scheduled timeline.

The guy was phenomenal. He did tremendous work and he was very honest. I was happy to be reimbursed. I really, really enjoyed working with him. If I have anything to do in the future, I will use him.

They were so responsive getting someone out for just a small job. Very profession. I have other electrival issues that need to be taken care of and I will definitely call them.

Mike Kohring was great. He arrived on time. He worked hard for many hours over two days (about 20 hours). He fixed problems that other electricians did not understand. He is very competent. He is friendly. He listens to what you want and them immediately works on it. We were very happy with Mike's electrical work for us. We would hire him again.

Mike came by to put in new outlets in our sun room, replace an ancient ceiling fan, and string speaker wire to a specific area. He was finished approx. when he said he would be, cleaned up after himself, and presented a reasonable bill. Very professional and competent.

Couldn't have gone more smoothly. Very friendly and easy to work with. Mike even offered a suggestion that saved us money on another project, even though it meant he wouldn't be needed for the job. Highly recommended.

I checked out the many electricians on your list and selected Mike Kohring. I called him and he answered the phone. We discussed my problem and he let me know that he usually preferred larger projects, but was willing to come the following Wednesday (12/5/12) in the evening. He said he would all me first at 5 pm. HE NEVER CALLED. He said he would then come at about 7:00 pm. HE NEVER CAME. We hired Mike to do some wiring updates in our kitchen a few years ago and he was great. This time, we needed to upgrade to a 220 panel for the home. We decided to hire him again. Mike got the job done and was always professional, pleasant, and punctual. Thanks, Mike--we'll keep coming back to you!

I slected Mike Kohring based on reviews and other quotes. Mike's prices were at par with the trade but the deciding factor was in his willingness to work with me and his "we can get this done" attitude. I wanted to do grunt work to save electrician time for electrical stuff. I dug the 30" trench (I rented a DitchWitch), bought 80 feet of 3" PVC and 120 feet of underground cable to save me ComEd fees if they did this. . I figured I could dig a ditch. I did, but maybe next time I'd pay someone else to do that (tip for the next guy). Anyway, Mike was great. He knows his electrical code, he was fun to work with (per my spec I was his gofer on Day 2), and his pricing was fair. Day 1 with the load center and pedestal installation, with internal re-wiring, I stayed out of his way. He worked 13 hours for the pirce he quoted me. On Day 2 he charged a per-hour rate for the labor of pulling cable through the conduit in the ditch and hooking it up. This did not take long with me being his helper. I can recommend Kohring as fair, honest and having your project finished with professional results. I gave a "B" for price as his pricing was the same as other two quotes I received BUT he was willing to work with me to do some of that grunt work which saved me some money in the long run.

Called Mike on 8/6 and told him what we needed to have done. Gave an estimate and said he could come out on 8/8 and would give us a call to let us know what time he would be here. He called and showed up when he said. He installed the fan parts and tried to install install the kitchen light but it was defective. Said to call him when we got a new light. We ordered a new light that came in damaged, so we had to wait for the replacement. Called Mike several times to update him as to what was going on. Finally got the new light on 8/18 and called Mike right away. He came out on Monday 8/20 and installed it. Very good service, you never have to worry about a call back because he always answers his phone (even Saturday). We did not have to pay him until the whole job was finished.

Mike was great - arrived when he said he would to review that scope of work we were looking to have performed, priced the different options and presented in a way that we could pick and choose what we had to do v. what we wanted to do. We agreed on the options and picked a date - Mike showed up on time, performed the work and charged slightly less than quoted, cleaned up whatever mess he made, was polite and professional. We would use his services again, and recommend him to anyone looking to have electric work done.

Mike came out and at first thought that it was something I could do by myself. I think I give off a vibe that I'd like to fix things myself, but in this case I had screwed things up so bad that I really was in over my head. He convinced me to install a heat lamp separate from an exhaust fan (which I'd wanted to install as a dual function item) so that I wouldn't need to rewire the upstairs switches to 220. That's a lot of electrical work he talked me down from! Anyway, I couldn't do it myself, so when I called back a couple of days later, he came right over, explained what I'd gotten wrong, fixed it and that was that. He really seems like an honest and nice guy, and I will definitely be using his services again.

Mike was very prompt in his initial response, timing to come out and provide an estimate, as well as the day he completed the job. We are very pleased with the quality of work and would certainly recommend.

I phoned Mike late Saturday afternoon after working outside in the yard/flower bed and discovered a severed wire going into the house. Initially I thought it was an old wire until I went in to the house to find much of the power in the house was out. Mike very kindly and successfully walked me through how to troubleshoot the problem before making a service call. He was successful. While no work was done, I would definitely call Kohring Electric again if I needed electrical work done.

Mike coordinated with me via cell and showed up on Tuesday evening. I needed a 3-way circuit and a single looked at and fixed. I expected him to show up and spend half his time researching the issue. Instead - he figured it out rather quickly and fixed all the issues within 1-1/2 hours. I guess experience shows? I brought in two amateur electricians earlier in the year and they spent that same amount of time investigating and at the end couldn't figure it out. I wish I called Mike first.

Kohring Electric is very dependable and prompt. Pricing is reasonable and the work has always been done efficiently.

As always my experience with Kohring was top-notch. Mike was punctual, and he gets the job done quickly and thoroughly. The price is always reasonable for the services performed. Every time we have used Kohring we have been completely satisfied with all aspects.

It when great. I was never made to feel stupid for having a problem that wasn't happening when he arrived. However, based upon his cheerful professionalism and obvious knowledge, we would not hesitate to call again.

I had several electrical projects that have accumulated over the past 15 years of owning our home, it was finally time to take care of them all. Mike gave me great advice about how to get everything updated within my budget. He absolutely was not looking to take advantage of all the work that was needed and we came up with a good plan for the immediate, fix right now issues and what we could do over the next year or so. At the conclusion of a small electrical DIY project, our electricity all around the house was flaky. Random outages across multiple circuits were randomly appearing across the house. After double and triple checking my work, I gave up and called Mike. Mike showed up on time and quickly diagnosed the problem as being an issue with the main breaker unrelated to the other stuff I had done. It was only appearing now because I had thrown the main breaker to cut all power to the house while I worked. Mike quickly and cleanly made the repair with a part he had with him in his truck and everything immediately was back to normal. On time, polite, and professional. An excellent experience at a fair price. I would use Mike again any time.

I was very impressed with Mike of Kohring Electric. He showed up on time and completed the job in a timely manner. He removed all debris that he used in the installation including the box the new fan came in, and the old fan and old wiring as well. He also gave me some advise concerning other electrical work I was considering.

Very professional - showed up on time, did work in time specified, and left area clean after they were done. Also carried in a large roll of fabric from the front porch to help my wife. Very appreciated.
