Mike Kohring was superb to work with. He was courteous, professional, on time, cleaned up after himself, and was extremely competent. He offered up suggestions, and was extremely knowledgeable. We're very happy with his work. His price was less than a few other quotes recieved, and it was he who did the work. I'd highly recommend Mike!!

We had condensation dripping from our second floor bathroom exhaust fan. After talking with a few different types of contractors, we decided to try replacing the fan first to see if this solves our problem. Mike was very helpful and informative. When I called to ask about the job, he gave me information on what to look for when we purchase a new fan. I liked that he suggested we pick out the fan, that way we get what we want and don't have to pay any extra overhead cost. He arrived on time and talked me the through options for the install. The bathroom has a 15' ceiling and no attic access. He was honest and expressed concerns that we talked through. He was clean and efficient, and made sure I was happy with his work. Called to request an appt. Mike answered, asked what the problem was, and fixed it over the phone. Our shower light wasnt working and I just had to reset the water safety switches near the sink. This guy just won a faithful new customer!

Mike at Kohring responded quickly to my email enquiry and came to quote the job exactly when he said he would. He gave us multiple options and patiently explained each option. He was quite knowledgeable and he provided us with multiple quotes to consider. In our case, we were applying for a state funded rebate so he had to also produce documentation critical to our being able to process the claim. I was out of town so he had to perform the job with nobody in the house. After making arrangements for him to get into the house, he performed his job professionally and flawlessly. Everything was clean and done quite nicely. He also put a missing switch plate on our only switch that my wife picked up immediately. We had not asked him to do this. I would recommend Mike and use him again.

I called Mike at Fuhring because I like using businesses close to my home to support them. I did not call anyone else because I saw from Angie's reviews that most electricians charge the same fee within $5.00 an hour. He answered in 2 rings. I told him I had a fan I wanted replaced and a new wall switch. He told me it would take about 90 minutes to do the work and he charges $85 an hour. I told him the price was reasonable and we set a date for the 22nd and that he would call at 8 am that morning to give me the time he would be out. He did tell me he liked to do this kind of work at the end of the day. On the 22nd, he called exactly at 8 am and told me he would be at the house between 1 and 2 pm. He arrived at 2. I told him the fan already in the ceiling only works in reverse. He said he would spend a few minutes to check it out to make sure the fan needed to be replaced. After about 5 minutes, he said it would be better to replace the fan. I had bought a fan from Amazon. He looked at it and told me I made a good purchase. I also showed him the wall switch I bought from Home Depot. I told him the grandkids like to pay with the light and fan switches and he assured me this was also a good purchase. I then let him go about his business. In a little less than 90 minutes, he came down to tell me he finished. He asked if I wanted the old fan and I told him it was his. He packed up, gave me the bill for the 90 minutes. I then told him I would like an estimate on some garage work. He told me it would take about three hours to do that work: three new wall and ceiling outlets pertaining to a new garage door system. I told him it was more than I wanted to pay for that work. He said okay and left. He was on time, personable, efficient, and the fan and wall switch work like they are supposed to. It was a job well done. [Husband's review]

I have used Kohring in the past and was happy with his services. He is prompt, shows up on time, and performs his work. As he was installing some electronic timers/light switches I had asked him as to why he was cutting off the neutrals/grounds instead of hooking them up. He had already explained that because the light switch plates where metal, code requires hooking up the neutral ground. He responded "oops I probably shouldn't have done that while you where watching." Nice guy, but I wouldn't use him again.

He was patient in explaining the cause of the problem to me. I appreciate his efforts in ensuring I had power that evening. He followed up a few days later to check the outcome of the utility company completing their work to ensure I had complete power.
