Kohring Electric

Overall, Mike got everything done that we needed done and he was very timely and polite. However, a couple of things happened that tarnished our experience. First, my husband went into the crawlspace to look at the outlet installed there for a sump pump and noticed that a roller cart we used for moving boxes around was broken. Additionally, upon further inspection of another new outlet we discovered that Mike installed an old/used electrical box that didn't fit the new outlets. We ended up going to Home Depot to replace it. I questioned Mike on both issues and he basically (almost reluctantly) confessed to both and took $25 off the bill. If you're hiring a professional to do work on your house, you shouldn't have to worry about things getting broken and/or them using old equipment on your job (and not telling you). My overall experience with Mike was a disappointment given that he got such rave reviews from others.

Mike came out as planned to give me an estimate. Very polite and gave me helpful suggestions. He sold me the motion detector with a generous warranty. Suggested I choose a "dusk to dawn" type of light outside the kitchen door. Advised I do things properly with the outlet and add a circuit breaker for things to work properly in this home which is 50yrs old.... Mike was right on time and spent about 4 hours here. Mike advised "dusk to dawn" light I purchased would be so bright that my neighbors might have an issue (he was right that it was super bright!), but said he could rewire later if I wanted to tone it down and use a regular light bulb. He also installed a new switch inside the house so I could manually turn it off, if needed. He had to go through the attic to install the motion detector and went above and beyond. He also noticed a poor wire connection that I had forgotten about....that we can replace at a later time. He cleaned up after himself and was gracious about my disorganized attic. He also gave me a few estimates for other things I needed to have done.

I first contacted Mike Kohring about two weeks ago and he was able to give me a quick estimate over the phone. I needed two coach lights installed but I had not purchased them yet. He gave me advice as to where would be the best place to go. We finally purchased them yesterday afternoon. I called Mike as soon as we came home. He was here today to install them. I found Mike to be extremely reasonable pricewise, very efficient, very friendly,neat, and he did a great job.

Excellent. Mike answered our call immediately and responded within 45 minutes to our home. He diagnosed the problem and repaired it in 15 minutes. Also tightened up and checked all other circuits. "Should be good to go for another 40 years", says Mike! Great guy...friendly and professional! Will definitely use him again.

One of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Mike Kohring came out to my house to provide estimates for some electrical work. His prices were fair and his work was exceptional. He fixed the light on the side of my house within 30 minutes and he installed a new light. He didn't try to nickel and dime me as other electricians tried. He was friendly, kind and courteous. I will recommend him to people I know and use him as my electrician from now on. I highly recommend Kohring and I am so relieved that my light is finally fixed. THANKS MIKE!

Mike Kohring was chosen from three contractors to perform a series of electrical chores and he and his assistant performed them with flying colors. He provided a neat detailed estimate range of the work and the final cost was right in the middle. As with most work done on an older home (built in the fifties), there needs to be some margin of error. Mike showed both knowledge and creativity when discussing the possible problems that might be encountered. A few of the items he worked on were added as the work progressed and in some cases he did them for no extra charge or added a very reasonable add on cost. He was extremely friendly and somewhat laid back (which initially worried me a bit), but his work was topnotch leaving me and my wife extremely satisfied customers. The only thing that one might classified as a negative is that it took a little bit longer than the estimate might have indicated, but this isn't unusual in our experience when dealing with an older home and we did not have to pay for the extra time. A standing ovation for Kohring Electric!

Mike responded immediately to my phone call for an estimate. We discussed the details of the installation, he gave me his hourly labor rate, and we agreed on a date and time for the project. Mike and his assistant showed up on time and prepared to do the work. They worked steadily and efficiently for 2 1/2 hours. They offered to clean up afterward, but I declined because I wanted to rearrange some furniture and said I would take care of the cleanup. Mike was extremely pleasant and accommodating throughout the entire experience. He knows his stuff, and did a very good job.

He did a fantastic job! Incredibly professional, prompt, polite-- recommended him for another job in the area.

Overall I was extremely happy. I rate this company an 11 out of 10. Mike and the electrian, (sorry I don't recall his name), and he is certainly a pro.I appreciated mike calling 2 times.

WE HAD CHECKED ANGIE'S LIST TO GET A NEW ELECTRICIAN AS OUR OLD ONE HAD MOVED FROM OUR IMMEDIATE AREA. IT WAS ONLY FOR A SMALL JOB & WE THOUGHT IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO FIND ONE WILLING TO COME TO DO IT. WE CALLED MIKE & HE ADVISED THAT HE WOULD BE HAPPY TO DO IT. WHEN WE GOT THE REPLACEMENT LAMPS, WE CALLED HIM BACK & HE CAME THE NEXT DAY AT THE THE AGREED UPON TIME. MIKE WAS PROMPT, QUICK, COURTEOUS & VERY PROFESSIONAL. HE HAS GREAT PEOPLE SKILLS. HE WAS VERY INFORMATIVE & ANSWERED ALL OUR QUESTIONS. HE DID NOT DO ANY UNNECESSARY WORK. WE NOW HAVE A RELIABLE ELECTRICIAN TO CALL WHEN NECESSARY.

Thanks to Mike Kohring's professionalism, prompt response, friendliness and ease in dealing with, we now have a "forever electrician"!! We called Mike on a Friday 1/9/09 regarding kitchen ceiling recessed canned lights needing new sockets and by early Saturday 1/10, the work was completed! What a nice guy! He really cares about the customer. We will recommend him to everyone we know!

Mike showed up, evaluated my space needs, suggested a routing for the new line, and got it done. It works great!

Mike answered the phone immediately and came out for an estimate that night. I got a price range for an estimate and the actual work ended up right near the middle of that range. The work was scheduled for later that week (I had yet to tear out my old kitchen) and Mike arrived promptly and with all necessary materials. My kitchen is primarily a DIY project and Mike was not only happy to have my assistance, but factored that assistance into the pricing, and encourages DIY projects. He was careful to route wiring in a way that would limit damage to existing finished walls. The work was finished in 6 hours.

We hired Mike due to the reviews that he had on Angie's List and he did not disappoint. He estimated a price for all our electrical needs and was right on the money. We needed a lot of work done in our home (in addition to the living room) and he came out in a timely manner and was always very thoughtful and good about working around our schedule. We plan to use him again in the future.

They were prompt at returning a voicemail. They provided an estimate over the phone and came within 5 days to provide services. They made helpful suggestions after asking a few questions. The final price was within the original estimate. The quality and cleanliness of work performed was good, and they finished in about 2 hours.

Job was divided into two service calls, one before the new cabinets were installed, and one after. Mike was on-time for both calls and was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was even nice to my dog who was under foot the whole time :-). Mike did the job quickly and efficiently and I feel like I got good value for my money. I will definitely hire Mike Kohring again in the future.

This was the third time I have used Kohring Electric over the past few years. Mike is always incredibly quick to respond to calls and set up an appointment. In this case, he was flexible as usual, and he came in the early evening. Mike always tries to arrange the time that is most convenient for me. He made the repairs and improvements quickly and well. I have been impressed with Mike's friendliness, accommodating schedule, pricing, and work quality. I will continue to use Kohring Electric for any future electrical repairs or upgrades.

Mike called the day of scheduled appointment to confirm and gave a 2-hour time window for his arrival. He arrived on time and did the installation quickly. In addition, he noticed and corrected a problem with an existing outlet that might have been an issue in the inspection process.

I've used Kohring Electric multiple times and Mike always provides quality work and exceptional service. For this job, Mike and his assistant spent 1 1/2 days adding can lights, outlets, and rewiring for electric appliances. Was able to relocate all switches and outlets displaced by the removal of two walls. Always has creative solutions for difficult situations.

Fantastic! We couldn't have been happier with our service. Mike returned my initial call within half an hour and provided me with a quote over the phone by the end of the day. He and his team arrived on time, completed the work and cleaned up after themselves. Mike took us through the installation, what had been done and what each of the wires was for. His job was thorough and his response time was unbeatable! We were very happy with our service, the prices were reasonable for the scope of the project and will definitely hire Mike and his team again for our electrical services.

I wasn't present for much of the work. There were some issues that concerned me in several places. When I came home, hours after he had finished and left, the kitchen sink was running full blast! This could have been disastrous, if for any reason the drain had closed or became blocked. Where he ducted the fan through the attic roof, he more or less broke the board off, instead of cutting it. Next to the duct the board is just plain broken away and I'm looking at the bottom of the roofing. The flexible duct itself was bent in such a way, that it appeared broken, and when I examined it, it split wide open (hard to tell if it had been broken already). The wall fixture was installed about an inch higher than specified. I'd both pointed it out and drawn a line on the wall, before he started. Mess in the basement, from where he was pulling conduit through the drop ceiling. He didn't fix the wiring in the other room.

Mike will be returning again on Wednesday to install canned lighting in the kitchen. I would give him an A+ on everything. In addition, he was a very nice person.

Mike Kohring did the work in a few hours. He took care of all my projects & I'm all set. This was one part of a remodeling project where I'm doing some of the work myself & hiring people to do other parts. I will continue to use Kohring for any future electrical needs.

This is the second time we've used Mike. He's very easy to work with and does good work. He's always been very timely and very responsive.
