Allied Air Conditioning and Heating

Allied did a very thorough initial inspection - much more careful and detailed than other contractors. The price was fair compared to other quotes we received. The initial appointment went well. The installer arrived on time and was very courteous. The installer had a partial work order, however - the thermostat installation was not included in his work order, although it was clearly marked on our agreement with Allied. He indicated that he would talk to his boss and have someone call us or stop by to do the thermostat installation. Unfortunately, we didn't hear from Allied for several days. I called the original sales person with whom we dealt, but he didn't return the call. A second call - this time to the main office - was much more fruitful. When I explained the situation to the receptionist, she took great pains to arrange another appointment and was very quick to get back to us. The installer for the second appointment was just as good as the first. Despite the slight hiccup with the thermostat installation, we were pleased with the results overall.

They are excellent. They're very responsive and they stand by their work. They're very fair and I would highly recommend them.

We had turned on our air conditioning unit for the first time of the season only to discover that it did not cool the house. We figured even though it was humid, we would be able to tolerate the 75 degree weather for a few days until our regular contractor could come out. The next day when temps reached 85 degrees, my husband had enough and was unable to get our regular contractor out. We then looked at Angie's List and contacted Allied. Not only were they sympathetic and polite to my rather short-tempered husband, they had a technician to our home within a half-hour. Poor John met with my crabby husband and immediately my husband was pleased. Later, over the phone, my husband described John as the nicest guy and most pleasant person. He said that John was quick and explained everything that was wrong and made repairs right away. John loved our dog, which was a big plus with us! We thought that we would get soaked with a huge bill considering it was overtime, but we weren't! We couldn't have been more pleased! We will definitely be using them as our contractor from now on.

I had used Allied before and had great service (I would have ranked them with an A) so when we were preparing to move to a new home I called them immediately. They were able to make an appointment for the next day. They gave me a four hour window of when they could arrive, which I said was unacceptable, and they said they'd call ahead when they were due to arrive so that I could be at the new house to meet them. Due to a problem with their scheduling computer, they missed their 4 hour window, and then did not call until they were actually at the house, by which time I had already left. I spoke with Wendy who was abrasive, but helpful with scheduling a new appointment a week out. The new appointment comes and they call ahead saying they are on their way. We said we'd be there in 30 minutes. They never showed up. I again spoke with Wendy who was extremely rude to me on the phone, spoke in a condescending tone, and made implications about my spouse that were uncalled for. I'm sorry, but they have lost my business.

Everything went fine. I was very pleased with the service. I still continue to use them. They are very professional. They show up when they say they will.

Allied sent a tech out within the week to clean and inspect the furnace. He did a great job and was very friendly. In subsequent months, I called the office to ask a question about the drain pipe running into my sump pump pit, and they helped me handle it over the phone for free. Thanks so much for your honesty!

They first time I used them it was to correct a very specific issue. It was a weekend, they were very helpful, coming the next day. They are very responsive. They are honest and don't try to oversell. I have been very happy and will continue to use them

It went well. I received estimates for the exact same Carrier model from three companies, Allied was by far the most cost competitive. They also had a great Angie's List report card. Cons: 1) They were about 40 min. late for the actual installation. 2) Installers were younger - not sure of their experience. However, I purchased a long term service contract so I felt protected.

I called in the morning to see if someone could come out the same day to clean my furnace. Within 2 hours Ron from Allied showed up at my home to clean the furnace. Ron was very thorough in his cleaning of the furnace. He checked all connections and washed some of the parts in the furnace. He spent the time necessary to check the furnace from top to bottom. He vacuumed the area and the inside of the furnace thoroughly. Ron was very pleasant and courteous.

Allied came out on time and did a great job on the install. The individual performing the installation was Dave Stein and he was professional and courteous. I encountered two problems with the installation and Allied PROMPTLY had someone out to get everything squared away. One issue was a small leak in the gas that they had fixed within a few short hours and the other was just a communication mix up on the temp control. They even went so far as to upgrade the temp control unit for free! I offered to pay and they said we'll take care of it and don't worry about it...now that's service! I'm getting a new air conditioner in the spring and I will definitely be hiring Allied to do the job. Very friendly people and a great company. They'll definitely keep my business.

Call went mostly OK. However, when it came to the humidifier, the service tech simply changed the filter and never checked to confirm if it was working properly. As it turned out, the unit was still not showing any water flow after the tech left and replaced the filter. We had to call Allied back and they found that the solenoid valve was clogged and needed replacing and that's why water wasn't flowing into the unit and over the filter pad. We should not have had to schedule a second visit to complete this routine job and get it done right. Making sure the humidifier worked was one of the major reasons for the winter checkup service call. Tech just assumed all that was needed was a filter pad replacement. Was not charged for a return visit service call but was charged for the labor and material.

Allied Heating and Cooling was great. They called a half an hour before showing up to let us know that they were on their way. They never gouge us on pricing and are professional, kind, clean and helpful. We've use them for ten years.

They did a very good job. They were good at answering questions and issues that we came up with. They always arrived on time, but in the end, the project took longer than we had expected. Their price was cheaper than others.

This job took four days, which I thought was quite reasonable. They did an excellent job. I was impressed with the professionalism of the three workmen who installed the units and I also appreciated the fact that they disposed of the old furnace and air conditioner.

Allied Air Conditioning & Heating Corp was top-notch in every way. The salesman explained the costs and the different types of unit we could get. We went with Lennox which a top brand. The installation men were very friendly and capable.

We have an older unit of about twelve years old and what is nice is about them is that they will instead of trying to sell us something new, they keep it up and running. They say it could go along for another fifteen to twenty years. Since I am an engineer and have a good antenna for these things, I can tell when someone is doing a bad job but I feel that they are very honest with me.

I have used them for years. They are always easy to work with, even after I had to make a last minute change to the appointment they still accommodated without any protest. The service people are great; they are always friendly and professional.

A repairman visited my home on June 6. He left, saying he had to go back to the office. When he returned, he said he had to order a part. I waited over two weeks and called to see status. They apologized, said they were completely at fault, but my order slipped through the cracks. They said they needed to come back to look at the serial number again. After canceling that appt, the representative came back out a second time. Now it has been 3.5 weeks without any communication from the second visit. I called yesterday, went through the shenanigans on the phone AGAIN, and my call was sent to "Bill". He was not apologetic or any where near customer service oriented. He answers the phone and when I told him I was on hold while the woman answering the phone was checking, he grunted that she passed on the call to him. I asked if he had the background, which he appeared to have, but said he would have to call me back when he found the file. That has been 36 hours ago and no call.

They arrived on time and performed the work as scheduled. The job took two days. They were very professional and friendly. They were extremely particular to make sure they didn't create a mess. The system is excellent.

I have used them for more than 10 years. I needed to replace my freon line. Since I wanted to replace with puron, I decided to replace the air conditioner and also the furnace which was 16 years old. Since I live in a townhouse and the new air conditioner line would be on the outside of my house, I was concerned about my association approving it but Tom Stein was very helpful and talked with my association and the line is covered with a downspout and looks good. The work took 1 day and the crew was very professional as are all their staff. They do a great job!!

First repairman diagnosed the problem improperly and charged me $85 for the call. It then took a week to get the replacement relay. The second repairman took two hours to determine the problem was not the relay at all, but just a tripped roll out switch caused, he said by, a bad heat exchanger that should be replaced. It took one second to reset the switch. This, he said, was something the first repairman should have done right away. He charged me $66.00 for the call. At the end of the day I was charged $151.00 to reset the switch and told I needed an expensive new heat exchanger or even a new furnace. I'm getting a second opinion.

It was excellent - when the repair man came in he said if you want to come with me I'll show you a couple of things to get you familiar with your furnace. He went through the basics and within 15 or 20 minutes he was finished and gone. When I had called I was treated with courtesy by the phone rep and they arrived when they said they would arrive. The temp has been around 0 in Chicago and they were prompt. The repairman was extremely customer oriented.

All people I dealt with were polite, professional. With the expertise to do an excellent job.

Brian arrived on time. Installed humidifier and thermostat with no problems. Instructed me in their use.

Service was friendly and professional. Technician was very informative and personable. Time was as scheduled (I was called 20 minutes prior to visit so I could leave work and meet the technician at home).
