Allied Air Conditioning and Heating

Fine overall. Long install but winter conditions contributed. Knowledgeable and courteous installers. Left rope on roof but was nighttime when they finished job. Water pressure in kitchen sink was slightly lower after install, suspect the bread used to hold water in pipe during install. they checked faucet but couldn't find cause, freely noted paperwork and offered to pursue. Still waiting for our plumber to respond to see if worth tearing out faucet. Sales was responsive also, and offered us the most info up front vs all other quotes, which is why we went with them. I've already offered their names to others.

The price was great. The installation was better than I expected. He came up with a suggestion that I would have never thought of. He placed the water heaters in pans and plumbed them to the drain because when they start to go, they leak. They were neat and clean. The service was top notch. I will use them again without hesitation.

Although they rescheduled my appointment initially due to several emergency appointments they had, they were in the end able to meet my schedule needs. Lon came out and immediately recognized 1) a design flaw causing significant airflow deficiency in the master bedroom, 2) that the previous contractor had placed a damper on the wrong duct. Lon's recommendation was to install a new return air line in the bedroom, in addition to a damper on the bathroom duct. This work was scheduled for the following morning, which was great for me. The installer came out as scheduled. The only complaint I can make is that he had to cut a hole in the bedroom floor and did not do a great job of ensuring the sawdust was captured. Other than that, I am completely satisfied with the quality of the work.

They did the work about three years ago and I would use them in future if needed.

I called to make an appointment on a Friday evening and got the answering service. We set a time for Allied to call back on Saturday morning to schedule the appointment. They called Saturday morning within 10 minutes of the set time. They were very accomodating--especially when I realized I had another commitment for the time of day I made the appointment. They were able to keep me on the same day but move me to a morning time slot. The work I was having done was on a rental house and on my drive over Allied called to say that their first appointment cancelled and wanted to see if they could come early. When I got to the house they were already there. The work was done very professionally and efficiently.

There was gas line before but it was not installed properly. Allied Air Conditioning has not done it yet. They will not be able to do it. I have had some very good experiences with them. They did the furnace inspection and then I turned the furnace on. I caught 2 things that their inspection did not. They came back and fixed it. However, their inspection was faulty and they were unable to install the gas line.

They did what they said they'd do. There were no problems.

The piping to the AC went under the patio that was being replaced but the piping was visible as it exited the house prior to diving under the patio concrete. When Allied cut the pipe and moved the AC they cut it right at the AC instead of right where it exited the house. So, when the brick paving company came to demolish the old patio they had to cut the pipe at the house where it should have been cut in the first place. Now granted the brick pavers could have/should have called Allied and had them come out to re-cut the pipe where it exited the house but not knowing that Allied uses special cutters to cut the pipes so that the metal particles do not enter the AC system the pavers just cut it themselves. May be the pavers should have known that Allied would have used special cutters I know I didn't - so should they have waited? But that would have probably cost several hours of work waiting for Allied to get there. Anyway, the end result was that Allied had to remove the old pipe and replace it with new piping in order to re-install the AC. Costing me an added $250. Doesn't sound like much but mostly it is the principle of things that both companies were wrong and miscommunciated with each other and I paid the price. The brick paving company ended up paying for 1/2 of the $250 which was very nice of them. I think Allied should have eaten the other 1/2 but they didn't. They said they only charged me cost for the work and may be they did but the work should not have to have been done in the first place . . . right? After reading the report on Angie's List, Allied Air Conditioning and Heating is reimbursing us for $125.00.

Jerry, the Allied salesman, showed up on time for our estimate. He was concise and very professional in determining the replacement HVAC system that we needed. Of the 3 estimates we had performed, he was the only one to tell us about the North Shore Gas Energy Efficiency Rebate that we could get as a result of the units we were wanting to install. Although Allied was not the cheapest estimate they did beat the most expensive estimate by about $2000. Jerry did not do a full heating and cooling load calculation at our first meeting but at my request, subsequently did one without hesitation. I felt this was necessary to confirm the furnace and AC sizes that were being recommended. Without hesitation, Jerry added details into the contract that we had talked about having done during the installation but were not part of the standard contract (e.g. taping all duct joints with metal tape, running the AC line along the bottom of the siding, etc). They installed the units a couple of weeks later and they would have done it sooner but I requested a delay do to other commitments I had. They show up exactly at the time they said they would. All of the installation contractors were courteous and professional. They worked non-stop all day and finished the job in one day, just as they stated they would. They thoroughly cleaned up and took away all of the old materials. The installation was neat and efficient and was of a quality that was beyond my expectations. I would not hesitate to have them do future work for me.

Very well. Ron did an inspection and provided a quote. A lot of useful information was provided. Ron took care of the permit application including photographing the existing unit/location. Installation people showed up on time and completed the work as quoted and within the estimated time. Excellent overall experience.

They are very good, very reliable, and very thorough. The price is reasonable and they are quite good; they do what they say they are going to do.

Scheduled my service call within 2 business days during a very hot spell - they have 6 hour schedule windows, I had 12p-6p. I called dispatch on day of service and was told later in the window(that as close as I could get) - They did call me about 15minutes before he arrived to let me know he was on the way. Once there, the situation was assessed quickly - very dirty coil/fins on outside unit. No coolant needed. Price was as quoted and done within an hour.

I called ten days previous and set up an appointment. I was looking for a new company since the company I used for 20 years left the residential service business. They set up an appointment for June 10. When they didn't call that they were coming, I called ro see if I had the right date [which I knew I did as it was on my calendar]. They had no record of my service appointment, and, in fact, they couldn't even find me in their system. They said they would make a date for the next week as they were now filled up with appointments. I told them I was looking for a RELAIBLE company to replace the one I lost, and they were not the ones. They then told me they could come out later in the day to make it up to me and I told them I was no longer interested in waiting for them. I then called another company.

Allied came out and fixed my heater. They were great. They were very professional. They were on time. They came out and explained everything that they were doing and offered me some of the other services while I was there.

They were great. Their service was great, cleaned up after themselves, and their price was worth the quality. I really don't have anything bad to say about them.

We had a leak in our air conditioner. We had a very positive experience with their serviceman. We would use them again.

I was given an appointment at my convenience and actually I rescheduled due to a conflict. John the serviceman arrived on time and after replacing the pilot light, told me that if he cleaned the furnace it wold cost me less than just replacing the pilot. He saved me about $35.

Excellent support on the initial phone call. I had an intermittent problem with the furnace. They listened and suggested changing the batteries in the thermostat which hadn't been change in a long time. They were on time and polite.

They did a good job repairing the furnace. They seemed very honest in their prices and what needed to be done. They also gave us estimates on the work that could be done in the future.

They were outstanding. The sales guy went through all of the different brands that they carry and he answered all of our questions. He took a lot of time and we didn't feel like we were getting pushed into a decision.

Went very smoothly, from original estimate to negotiated sale to final installation and minor follow-up. Jerry Eaves was our main contact and he was knowledgeable, professional, and very responsive to questions at every step of the way. Office personnel were also quite helpful in several regards.

Patrick Paddock (salesman) was wonderful, trustworthy, provided high quality service and was patient with all my questions. Had the integrity and expertise to properly size the furnace to the house (surprisingly not all contractors did, I learned). Also, determined we didn't need to replace A/C unit when another company said we did. Installers did a nice job, cleaned up after themselves well, and the furnace and thermostat are working well. One small problem will be addressed soon, and Patrick was very responsive.

Patrick arrived on time to evaluate my failed A/C system - oil leaking from the compressor and blown fuses hinted that the old system had died. Patrick inspected all aspects of the existing system including the supply and return duct sizes, capacity of the furnace blower and size of the failed unit. Four options were presented - one to replace the existing condenser with a similar unit 10 SEER, one to upgrade to a Puron based unit 13 SEER, one to upgrade to a Puron based unit w/a premium condenser 13 SEER and a high end 18 SEER energy efficient unit. I selected the unit with the upgraded condenser w/10 year warranty. Installation occurred approx 5 days after the contract was signed. The installers arrived on time and unloaded the new evaporator and condenser. The old condenser was disconnected and the oil that leaked from the old compressor was cleaned prior to the new unit being put in place. The unit was wired - they provided a new exterior compressor disconnect switch. The old evaporator was removed from the plenum in the furnace and a new one installed. The gas and liquid refrigerant lines were brazed and the system evacuated. A new return air plenum was fabricated on site to improve air flow and tie in the existing SafetGuard air filter - this was at the suggestion of Patrick after evaluating the existing ducting system. The new system was evacuated and was charged with Puron. A thermo couple was used to confirm the operation of the new A/C and the temp of the liquid refrigerant. The work areas were cleaned and all materials as well as the old A/C components were removed. New 40 amp fuses were provided and installed. The only issue that I had was that the two tech did not bring drop cloths to protect the carpeting. I provided some that I had - no real issue. Over all - highly recommended.

It was great. I thought the pricing was maybe a little on the high side, but it was well worth it because the quality was excellent. They also were very good about catering to my needs and I felt like they were genuinely concerned.

Company was very responsive and flexible to find a date that would work for both the weather and my schedule. Called to change appt to morning since rain was predicted in the afternoon and was willing to work with my limited morning schedule. Service professional was great. He was willing to answer all my questions and did not leave any mess behind. I would use them again for this and future service for my heater and air conditioner.
