THE TREE GUY

We did not hire him because he came and did a free estimate and talked us out of it by saying that we could do it ourselves. We were worried that our evergreen tree in front was diseased because the branches at the bottom were turning brown. He checked out the whole tree and said that it was healthy and that we could just cut off those dead branches. He said why pay him $100 to do it, when it was so easy for us to do. He did not pressure us into anything and in fact talked us out of it. We will definitely use him when needed because we found him to be very honest.

Pricing was low. I don't remember how much they charged us because my husband took care of that. The pricing was the best part. The stump grinding definitely did not meet our expectations.

I spent about $1000 on the job. He was responsive. The company is locally-owned and pleasant. I thought the prices were reasonable. However, they had to reschedule a couple of times, but I guess it is the nature of business. I would use him again in the future.

In fact, they came out on Christmas Eve last year. The tree service guy came out immediately. I told him he could wait, but he said that he would come out right then and he took down a tree for me all by himself. The tree was fine, but my neighbor called and told me that they had some carpenter ants in their house. Their exterminator anticipated that it was from the tree and my exterminator said it wasn’t. The tree service guy is great. He is a very personable guy. He is much more reasonable than anyone else that I have used in the past. I had to remove some shrubs that had been here for probably over 20 years or so. I got estimates for that job between $500 and $800, but I got it done for about $200 or $300. He left the stumps and I told him that I really didn’t want them. So he told me that he would be back when there were more stumps to remove, but he did come back. I didn’t have to call him or anything. He is a man of his word. I would definitely use his services in the future too.

I called and left a message asking for an estimate. Before they even returned the call, Keith came out to evaluate the tree that afternoon and left the estimate in my mail slot. I was able to schedule the work for the following week. His crew worked very carefully to remove a large tree from the backyard, working around several power lines. They cleaned up the site afterward and did a great job overall. I would use them again in the future.

The Tree Guys were able to send an estimator the same day I called. I recognized the estimate to be very reasonable so we went ahead with the job on the spot. It took almost two hours and they did not start until they had a very clear understanding of what kind of look in my garden I was trying to preserve. I was impressed with their patience with me and while they told me professionally what "ought" to be done, they also did thier best to work with my wishes as well. They are sensitive to how attached people can be to their trees. The team worked very well together and their attitude with the customer was refreshing. As an older female contracting services, I appreciated all of this. By the way, the tree looks great too!

Discovered that our large maple, with 4 major limbs extending from the trunk, had split and each of the large limbs was about to break off, with one that would be going through our neighbors fence into their yard, and another onto their garage. Keith showed up at my house on the same day at about 4pm. After inspecting the tree and assessing that it could not be saved, he determined that it may well not make it through the night. Even though he had dismissed his crew for the day, he called them back and they worked until about 7:30 to removed the most vulnerable and threatening parts of the tree, secured the rest, then returned the next day and completed the job. Keith was very professional, and his rates were amazingly reasonable. Although there was a wood fence almost right under the tree, his crew made sure the fence was not damaged. Per my request, he left the trunk and larger limbs for me to cut up as fire wood and took the rest away. As much as we lamented having to lose this beautiful old tree, he responded to our emergency (although he did not charge us his emergency rate) and solved my problem in such a way that left me feeling like I had been well served. A really great value for the services performed in a rather vulnerable situation.

The Tree Guy was very professional when he was making his estimate. He did not use any scare tactics and was reassuring even though I had a large tree on my house. His estimate was accurate and half as much as an estimate from a competitor. The storm that damaged my tree was very large and the Tree Guy was very busy after it. Consequently, it was nearly three weeks after the storm before he was able to do the removal. During those three weeks, there were some communication issues and I became a little frustrated with lack of service. However, suddenly one morning the Tree Guy and his crew were at my house. It took three days to totally remove the tree, and the removal was done expertly and professionally. The Tree Guy was honest and professional. He stands head and shoulders above his competitors in those categories. He is however the owner of a small company, and after a big storm he becomes very busy. As long as you are patient with him though, he does a wonderful job. If in the future, I again need to have a tree removed, I will be giving the Tree Guy a call.

Keith showed up within two hours of my call requesting a quote. I immediately gave him the go ahead. He removed the tree the next day but could not grind the stump until "Julie" came out and marked the underground utilities. He came back two days later (before "Julie" arrived) and ground the trunk. When I cleared the chips to add top soil to begin planting grass I noticed that there were still roots and part of the trunk was still above ground. Keith did not mention that he was coming back. When "Julie" showed up and marked the utilities, I called Keith and left a message that "Julie" had showed up. I didn't hear anything so I called and left another message. The next day I saw that the trunk all the roots had been ground down (when?). So everything worked out. My only recommendation is that he should have communicated that he was only grinding the center of the stump until "Julie" marked the utilities. I assume he was planning on coming back and grinding the roots even if I didn't call.

He is an excellent company. He does the work as promised. His prices are extremely reasonable.

It's been over a month since I first called these guys. I got an estimate right away, 3 stumps for $100. They said it would be a few days before they could do it, because of all the storm cleanup orders they had. So I wait. And wait. A few weeks later, after a few calls to them, I get a call back, and their truck is broken. Okay. He drops the price to $80. Fine. Few more weeks, no response. Lat call I made, the voicemail said the wouldn't be doing much because of the heat. It was 75F out. I mean, come on! I just want

Keith was very responsive when I called and performed the work over a couple of days. He did an excellent job. Exceeded my expectations in every respect. It was a difficult site to reach but he was able to get equipment in and out without too much difficulty. The area was left cleaner when they left than when they started.

The company came out, looked at the tree, and explained to me how I can remove the tree myself. I appreciated their honesty and will definitely will use them if I need them in the future.

I had a weed tree which started growing and damaging my house. He came out and took it down. No damage was done to my house while he was taking down the tree. He got the tree down fine. I think his price was good. The only complaint I have is that he was supposed to come back after several weeks to grind the stump down, but he never came back. I ended up doing the work. However, it is fine now. Except for that one incident, I am very happy with him. I will use his services again in the future.

Of the two bids (and proposed solutions) that I received, I felt The Tree Guy was the most honest and forthcoming (and as an added bonus the least expensive, given the work he was proposing). He came and did the job within a few days of the bid, and he and his crew were friendly, efficient, and they did a great job. I highly recommend them, and would hire them again in the future if I have other tree-related issues.

We received a quote from him, and he was fantastic to work with, but his quote was just too high. We ended up paying $2000

Called for an estimate and they came out the same day. After given the go ahead they came out a few days later and performed the work well and hauled away the debris.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Keith was quick to return my call, quick to come out and give an estimate, and quick to fit us into the schedule. Overall it was a great experience. I called several landscape companies at the same time, and was able to get the project completed before most companies even called me back. I am already recommending to friends who need tree removal services.

He is the guy I went to for a second opinion on the tree. He was very good. What I specially appreciated is that I told him upfront I was not going to give him the work. I was using him as a second opinion, but I already was working with this landscaper and he was fine with that. I told him I'd be more than happy to pay him for his opinion, but he didn't want to be paid. He said their assessments were free and he hoped that we would come to them for something else in the future. I was very impressed.

One of the large limbs had separated from the base of the tree and was resting on our garage and power lines. The Tree Guy (Keith) came over the same day I called and gave us an assessment of the tree's condition and an estimate for removal of the entire tree. He came the very next day and removed the dangerous limbs, then returned a few days later to take down the rest of the tree. It took them a week to do the entire job, but everything was done as promised, including a complete clean up of the job site.

I was very satisfied with his work. I would give him an A+. I would definitely recommend him to others.

I plan to call the Tree Guy again in a few months to deal with a second tree that's located in an area we are doing construction. Great service. Highly recommended.

Keith and his crew were very professional and courteous. Keith answered all my questions and made sure he was pruning the tree in the backyard exactly the way I wanted it. I’m very happy with the overall job and would definitely hire him for any future work.
