He was wonderful. He was very honest about the refrigerator and he let us know the repair may not last. He came out a second time and let us know that the refrigerator could not be repaired. He was very honest and ethical. They did not charge for the second visit. I would recommend using them and I would use them in the future.

I was in a bind and had refrigerator installation people at my house wanting to remove my old fridge and install the new one. Nothing could be done until the water to the fridge was shut off. No one could find it so in desperation I went to Angie's List at 5pm looking for a plumber. I found Bill who was nearby and told him my dilemma. The installers said I had 20 minutes to figure out where the shut off valve was or they were going to cancel the delivery and installation. Bill was kind enough to come over immediately and ended up staying at least an hour because the installers did not want to install the copper water line directly into the refrigerator. Without Bill's immediate help the day would have been ruined and I am so thankful that he was willing to come over quickly and stay for as long as it took to take care of what I needed. Thanks Bill!!!

Bill returned my call promptly, his assistant came when expected, and completed the work quickly. He replaced a broken belt and a worn belt and noticed that a clamp that had rusted off the hose so he replaced that too. I was very pleased. An excellent repair experience.

did great job. in and out quickly. had everything he needed. gave advice on additional work that may be needed in the future for dryer vents and what type of service man to contact since he did not perform that type of work.

The vent was too long and had a kink in it so he shortened it. It also needed a small part.

My 17 year old Whirlpool gas dryer had stopped heating up. Of the 5 places that I tried calling from Angie's list, this was the only one who answered/called me back, and could come the next day. (one person said on their VM that they were not available until the following week, one company on Monday said they didn't have anyone who could look at it until Friday, and 2 others I left messages but no one ever called me back, all "A" rated places.) I left a message on the VM around 2:30 in the afternoon, Bill called back around 3:30, and said he could have someone come out the following day between noon and 3. The technician called about 1:35 and arrived 10 minutes later. He figured out the problem was a thermal fuse, replaced it, cleaned out the inside of the back of the dryer and cleaned out the vent, and was done by 2:30. I am now back to catching up on laundry.

Great. Came when he said he would, did a good job and gave me a reasonable price. No hidden costs.

it took 2 calls to get a return call and a promise of a scheduling call the next business day which did not occur. waste of my time.

Keep in mind, this was July 3rd. Called and spoke to Bill, who said he would call me back in a couple of minutes to see if he could get someone out the same day. He called me back within those 2 minutes and said someone would be at my address between 11 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Melvin called and was on his way around noon. Melvin was great! Fixed the fridge within an hour. Truly appreciated all the great service! Thanks Bill!!

Bill's Appliance was available within one day of my phone call. We needed repair on a dryer at a rental in Chicago. Although Bill's Applicance is based in Oak Park, there was no issue with scheduling the appointment for the next work day. The repair person was on time and diagnosed the problem. The repair was completed right away and the charge for services was very fair. The service person was very friendly.

I called two places prior to this place and they could not send anyone until later this week. I cannot, I repeat, cannot go without a washing machine that long! I called this place and left a message. Maybe an hour later my call was returned and Bill said that someone could be here within the hour! Great! The technician arrived in the designated time and got to work. He finished in a little under an hour and told us what the problem was with instructions on how to prevent it in the future. Definitely appreciated that! Would use again.

Our stove's igniter went out on a Friday night. I left a message for Bill's Appliance and received a call back within the hour to set an appointment for the next morning. Due to a mix-up on my part, my cell phone was off in the morning and I missed several of Bill's calls and his technician coming by the house. When I did finally call him back, he had a technician over within half an hour, who fixed the oven.

Our Maytag dryer stopped drying and would only heat intermittently. I checked on Angie's List and saw Bill's Appliance was the closest with the most and many positive reviews. We set up an appointment for today Saturday morning and he called 45 minutes prior to say he was coming at the appointed time range. He was in and out in a little more than 35 minutes. He told me what he suspected based on the model, told me the price of parts and labor and choices because there was something else that might fail in a year. There was no pressure, just choices. He already had the parts in his car and fixed it. In addition, he said if anything goes wrong that he had a 90 day guaranty that if the problem returned he would fix it for no labor cost and just parts. The guy is fanstastic and both my wife and I recommend him! He also gave us a consult on our fridge ice maker for no charge. Use the services of this person. He's great.

Would highly recommend this company!! Called yesterday, they came this morning, found the problem right away, fixed it at a reasonable price. Also, the tech, Melvin, alerted me to a potential electrical problem. The dryer is near the circuit breaker box. He spotted electrical arching coming out if the box into one area of wiring. Called an electrician who will be here first thing tomorrow morning. Thank you Melvin!! Good catch!!

I called Bill's appliance to repair my oven. They came within a day of my calling, and the repairman was knowledgeable, polite and fixed my oven within a short period of time. I have already recommended them to one of my neighbors, and would recommend them again if anyone needed this type of service.

Excellent. We us Bill's Appliance for all of our heating, AC, and large appliance work. Bill is punctual, professional, and, perhaps most importantly, honest. He will tell you if you are better off repairing or buying new or if a cheaper fix will suffice for a time.

handle wouldn't snap back into place. Called Bill out and he went ahead and ordered the part and installed it. He was very courteous, efficient. I would defiantly recommend. Very reasonable rates.

What a JOKE. I was excited to find a company that services portable ac units, since not many people do. I explained that I had 2 units, a portabe one and a window one, neither that were working properly- they were blowing hot air and probably needed new coolant. I did say I was primarily concerned with the portable one, since window units are realtively inexpensive these days. Although AC's have come down in price in the past few years, I thought I would be doing the environmentally responsible thing and servicing the units I have (both <5 years old) and using them for a few more years, rather than replacing and consigning them to a landfill. (Presumably) Bill said that they don't service a lot of portable AC's, but that yes, the do do this work and that they would also look at the window unit when they came out. I was very optimistic when I set up the appointment. That optimism evaporated within the fist 10 minutes of seeing the technician at work. The technician came out, looked at the vents, vacuumed the coils, and said that is all that he could do on the portable unit. This is routine care and maintenance that I do myself and that anyone with one of these units is supposed to do on a regular basis. He said it would be "expensive" if he had to remove the housing from the AC unit to check the compressor or any of the equipment inside the machine to see what else is wrong. He said it is probably needing freon, but that freon is expensive and he was not prepared to do this type of work. Couldn't really tell me what "expensive" is, mind you. When I pressed him for more information and concrete numbers, he seemed like he was just making up answers as he went along, and every time I asked, he gave me a different dollar amount. Because we are in the middle of a heat wave, because it was 103 outside and 92 degrees in the house and the one unit that was still functioning couldn't keep up with cooling, yesterday I went out and bought a whole new unit and installed where the window unit was in my bedroom, because I was seriously starting to worry that my dogs would have a heat stroke at home. When I asked the technician to look at the window unit, he said that because it had been taken out of the window and was on its side on the floor, he wasn't even going to turn it on. He tried to tell me that it was not working because of the screen having some dust on it as well. I mean, there was a little, but when I've cleaned it at regular intervals in the past, it had more dust on it and the units still functioned better. When I stated same, he didn't have any other explanation and said there was nothing else he could do with the unit. He apologized that he was not prepared to do anything else and said he was "only" going to charge me $40 for coming out. SERIOUSLY. As if he was doing me a favor!!! I could have saved myself taking the day off of work if I was told in advance that all the technician was going to do was look at the filters and vacuum the back of the unit. If Bill or someone else just said "you know, it might cost more to fix than to just buy a new AC." Or at least given me an inkling that they were not prepared to refill the freon or otherwise examine and service the unit. Now I am stuck with 2 units that I will have to dispose of somehow, have to buy new ones, my house is still 90 degrees with the blinds drawn, and my overall experience was that this was a waste of my time and money. What a JOKE.

From the first phone call i knew i found the right place... Bill was willing to discuss repairs over the phone without trying to force me into a service call (i had already diagnosed the problem and knew the parts needed).Very reasonable prices and flexible with scheduling. All i needed was the guides and belt replaced on my clothes drier.... technician was nice, efficient and did a good job (though drier still makes some very slight grinding noise after repair). My only complaint was that he left all the debris on the floor in the room after the repair was complete. Overall good experience and these guys, as they were great to work with when talking on the phone (something that you generally don't get when calling repair shops). I would def recommend them and call them again in the future.

He's absolutely reliable and prompt and he takes care of his customers on a priority basis. If you have an emergency he deals with that on emergency basis. His services and work is topnotch, I will definitely use them again.

It didn't go well this time, although I've used them several times in the past. 1. No one called back 2. I called twice to ask for what I needed and to give model number info, etc. 3. No follow up call was made to me 4. I have to go elsewhere and am not very happy

He was reasonably priced, did very good service and he was very punctual. He was here when he said he was going to be here. The customer service was good. It is a very small company with two men in the company and it’s all very good. I would recommend them to anyone.
