I hired Bill to replace the ice machine in my refrigerator. After he installed it, it did not produce ice. He brought over a new one and installed it. It did not work. He tried a 3rd time with the same results. He then blamed the manufacturer claiming all of their ice machines are faulty. He had no solution. I hired another company to look at the latest new one from Bill. They identified the problem within minutes and we’re out of the door in 15 minutes, I had a working ice machine. Bill did not wire it correctly!! For over a year Bill has promised to return what I paid to the company that fixed it. After many texts, he has gone silent. Save yourself the grief and hire someone who is qualified and honest, which Bill is not.

They were pretty busy when I called and the visit couldn't be scheduled for until the following week. Too bad (alas, we had to wash our dishes by hand), but they were up front with that and it was the best that we could do. The day of the visit went pretty smoothly. The serviceperson had to step out to get the needed replacement part for the fridge, but otherwise he was quick and efficient. Nothing appeared to be broken with the dishwasher, so he helped us clean out the drain lines and offered some suggestion about future maintenance. Since then, the refrigerator has worked fine, but we have had occasional leaks under our sink that we have not been able to determine the source of yet. We wonder if something got bumped or loosened when work was being done on the dishwasher but we haven't figured it out yet. We've used Bill's Appliance & Air several times in the past and would use this local company again in the future.

My dryer stopped working and they were able to come out the same day. They said it was the thermal fuse and gave me an estimate. Once they ordered the part they were suppose to come back the following Saturday between 10am and 12pm but no one ever showed up. I called the office at 12:15pm but no one answered. I did not get a call until 12:51pm from the tech saying he could not come out, which at this point I figured that. He said his truck broke down and when it was towed the part for my dryer was in it. If this was truly the case he could have called me when the truck initially broke down, but instead I wasted time waiting for someone who was never going to show up. This was the only issue I had with them. I did rescheduled them to come out the following Monday to fix the problem.

I spoke to the owner, Bill, on Monday afternoon. He said they were busy and couldn't get there that day, but could come on Tuesday. Originally he gave me a time frame for the afternoon. I work from home and was flexible with the time, so I told him to just call me in the morning. On Tuesday at 8:30 am, Bill called and told me the tech would be there in an hour. The tech arrived on time, was polite and diagnosed the problem right away. He was done about and hour and fifteen minutes later. It was a pleasant experience.

I called at 8 p.m. in the evening to set up an appointment, and they were out to my house by 1:00 the next day. Gentleman was very prompt in determining that a part was going to be needed and it was ordered. Three days later got a call that the part was in, and installation happened very promptly. Service was very professional and would definitely use again.

What a great experience! We realized one morning that the furnace in our attic hadn't kicked in to warm things up. I checked a few things, such as the circuit breakers and the operation of the thermostat, but it was clear we needed a professional. We had used Bill a few times in the past for appliance repairs and furnace maintenance and had always found him to be responsive and reasonably priced. When I called, he said the day was pretty busy but that he should be able to have someone come look at the furnace before the end of the day. I said ok, but commented that as early as possible would be helpful due to family plans that evening. Bill called in the afternoon to say that Melvin was on his way. He arrived at about 3:00. Melvin found that the blower wasn't turning on. Before declaring the blower motor the problem, he disconnected some wires and re-attached them to bypass the controls. The blower came on, showing that the problem was the control board. The charge for the service call was only $68. Bill called later to say that replacing the board would cost $217 for the part and labor, though he wasn't sure how long it would take to get the part. Since the furnace is 22 years old, I wanted to see what a replacement would cost before putting more money into the old one. Bill doesn't install new furnaces. I had another company come out early the next morning. The quote was much more than I wanted to spend at this point, so I called Bill back and told him I'd like to do the repair. He called later and said that he was able to find the board, and that Melvin would be back in mid-afternoon. Melvin arrived as promised and replace the part. It was that cold, windy Halloween night and I wouldn't have to put up with my family's complaints about being cold!

Update: While we got off to kind of a rocky start, Bill did finally obtain the part for my dryer and had his employee come and install it. He did come on Sat. and as per my request, called ahead so I could secure my 2 dogs. When I contacted Bill, he arranged to come out on Saturday to look at my dryer. I asked that he call before he came so I could put the dogs in another room which he did. He looked at my dryer, told me I needed a new timer. He did try to look on line while at my home, but couldn't get the part number, so he called me back later that afternoon with a quote for the part and he said that it would probably be delivered either Tues or Wed. We made arrangements for him to come on Friday as I was off, to replace the part and he stated he would call me when he was on his way. I never heard anything from him on Friday. I called him on Sat. morning (yesterday) and left a message; he called me back about 10 mins later telling me that he didn't think he had received the part, apologized for not calling me (but actually sounding like he didn't remember the conversation) and that he would check when he got home later in the day and call me. It's Sunday and I still have not received a call. I can't comment on his service expertise as I have not witnessed it. But as far as his customer service, at this point I can say I am not impressed. His lack of communication with me has been glaring. I have been without a dryer for 2 weeks. Had I known he could not provide this service for me, I could have contacted someone else. $68 just to have someone tell me that my dryer was broken? If he does eventually fix the dryer then maybe I can amend this report. But right now, I'm not hopeful

Bill arrived to look at both my dishwasher and washing machine both of which are 13 and 10 years old respectively and discontinued. With the Bosch model SMU4052UC/14 dishwasher he pulled it out from under the counter and took the front control panel off and confirmed it was getting power from its circuit, and mentioned in most cases with a model this old (+12 years) it was likely something in the control panel and possibly he could find the part although he was not certain, beyond that Bill could not tell me much. He wrote down the model number of the dishwasher and put it back together and said he would look for a part and get back to me. Bill then looked at my Asko washer W6021 Quattro and showed me the control board which had some burn marks on it which indicated it was fried and would need replacement. Again, with this old model it was unlikely he could locate one, however said he would try. We slid partially back under its counter and left it. Later that day he sent me a text indicating the model no. for the Asko control board (806 5839) and the model no. for the Bosch dishwasher for which he asked me to confirm. I responded with a text thanking him and telling him I would check it out and get back to him. This was our last correspondence until today when I sent him a text asking him what had become of the metal toe kick cover I noticed missing on the dishwasher that same day he was here. He responded by saying he did not know and definitely did not take it with him. Before I finished writing a text in response, to say that it was there before the day he was here and then not there after he left, he called me and basically apologized. I told him I was not at all satisfied with his service and lack of follow through. He said he was sorry I felt that way and we said goodbye. I finished my previously incomplete text reiterating what I had told him on our first phone conversation and ended it with a question about if he knew what part the Bosch dishwasher needed and sent it. Shortly thereafter he called me one last time and said he did not appreciate me accusing him of taking the toe kick and that he had no reason to and asked that I not text him anymore and he hung up. Needless to say, I do not think I will be calling Bill for anything anytime soon.

Bill figured out fairly quickly that (probably due to the recent storms), the circuit breaker had tripped, causing the unit to stop working. Not being handy people, my husband and I had never even thought to check. Bill could have invented some sort of problem to make extra money, but he was completely honest about the simplicity of the issue. While he was here, I asked him to check coolant levels, which were fine. I was expecting him to tell me we needed a new air conditioner. I was actually teary-eyed when he let me know that my bill was under $100! I originally learned of Bill's company last year when I needed to have both our refrigerator looked at, as well as our washing machine. Bill's technician came out and spent a lot of time looking at our fridge before he concluded that it wasn't worth fixing, better to replace. He did NOT charge us for that - just for fixing the washing machine. Bill's prices are extremely competitive, and the best part is, he and his technician are extremely honest... the way things have been going at our house, I just wish they fixed roofs and did plumbing work, too! I can't recommend them highly enough!

I was happy to hear they could come check out the washer the same day(Friday). Bill said he or a tech would call me when they were on their way between 2pm - 4pm. I was at work and not at home so I requested for the heads up. 3:30 hit and I get a call from a tech saying he's at my house. I wasn't happy with that but lucky someone was at home to let him in. They found out the main control board was malfunctioning. Service call was $60 bucks. The tech said they would call me with the price of the part and labor. Friday passed and so did Saturday/Sunday. I called Bill Monday and he apologized for not calling me on Friday as they got a bit backlogged. The price for the part was $248 plus labor. The service call charge is not put towards the part installation. The washer is only worth about $350 so not worth it. I'm buying a new washer. So overall they were very nice and pleasant to deal with but wish he would of called Friday to let me know the cost. That way I could of looked into buying a new washer sooner. Instead I lost a few days.

I phoned Bills Appliance on Friday afternoon and Bill had one of his repair technicians at my place at 9:00am the next Saturday morning. The technician determined that the refrigerator's control panel had a small burned out relay, which he showed me, which was likely the cause of the intermittent problem. He had a replacement panel on the truck and was able to replace it immediately. The overall price was very reasonable and my refrigerator has worked perfectly the last two weeks. I will definitely call Bill again should I need him.

Our dryer had stopped working correctly--specifically it was taking roughly 3-4 hours+ to fully dry a load of laundry. I searched for large appliance repair company and saw that Bill's was highly recommended. We contacted him late on a Saturday afternoon, he did return our call even after his business hours at least to reach out to us. He was able to send one of his employees out I believe that Monday (i.e., they are closed on Sundays). I was not home, but my wife was--she mentioned that the technician was courteous and prompt. Explained what had happened (the heating element had broke) and recommended ways to avoid it from occurring as frequently in the future (i.e., avoid consecutive/back-to-back drying loads to avoid "burn-out" of the heating element) and replaced it. We had a coupon offered by Angie's list which they honored without hesitation. Overall, you can bet that we will be using and recommending them for future work. Thank you again.

After trial and error, they were able to identify our vent and proceeded to clean out a big wad of compacted lint at the roof level. Not every repairman would have persisted, as Bill did, for a relatively minor problem that had major consequences for the operation of our dryer.
Description of Work: Bill figured out why my dryer wasn't drying properly (3+ hours to dry a load of towels). We live in a condo and he made two trips to try to solve our problem, going up onto the roof (the second time with an assistant) and determining which dryer vent belonged to us, none of them being marked. He also pulled out the stacked washer/dryer and disconnected the vent from the machine to check it from that end.

they came out to look and see if they could fix the washing machine. he told us what was wrong and the approx. cost to fix and we need a new machine! |they were responsive, polite, prompt. just wish the transmission on our machine hadn't gone out. I would use them in the future. we paid for a service call and they came in horrible traffic with several road closures and weren't all crabby about it, explained and showed what was wrong with machine.
