Bills Appliance & Air

Bill came out to determine what was making our refrigerator make strange noises and flashing lights (on the front ice panel). He was proactive and had ordered a new board for the electronics panel in the front but unfortunately when he put it in it did not fix the problem. He left saying he would do further research and let me know and would not even let me pay him. Within a few days he called to say he thought he had figured it out and made an appointment to come back out at my convenience. He was right the second time and even then only charged me for the second panel and not the first (which he ate the cost for). He is a very responsible business man and a great repairman and we will definitely use him again.

I spoke to Bill late on a Saturday and described my problem. He offered to come Sunday but I told him that it wasn't necessary as I had back up. Monday he arrived on time, quickly analyzed the problem, got the needed part from his truck and installed it. The refrigerator has been working perfectly ever since.

Refrigerator died. Called at 8:00 A.M. and received a call back within an hour. He came out to the house that day. Ordered the part and the frig was repaired the next morning.

He returned my initial call in a timely fashion, he was polite and easy to work with, inclement weather made keeping the appointment difficult but he did call to reschedule.

We have 2 central air units. One I replaced last week as it started to fail last year and the other worked well all last year but when started this year, it would only produce warm air. Called Bill mid-week to come out, but he could not till Friday due to an eye injury. That was fine with me as I did not want to call the other company back. Bill called Friday morning to confirm the time of appointment and then showed up on time. He performed the work exactly as described in a timely fashion. He found the caps had been left off causing the leakage. He recharged the unit and put new caps on the values to seal the unit. Bill made an old unit work like new for a very reasonable price. I would not hesitate to recommend Bill to anyone! I am very suspicious of the other company that installed the new unit as they said the old one was working fine. Once again, Bill's did a great job! We have a 4000 foot home with two central air units and have been cool all summer. I plan on calling him soon to check and clean our two heating units.

My air conditioner was very old when I moved into my apartment but it cooled more than sufficiently. Last year however, the unit started to put out a little warmer air and when I called my landlord he told me that I should clean the filter. Well there isn't much left of the foam filter but it didn't matter as the weather turned cooler. This year the unit started putting out warmer and warmer air and my landlord didn't seem to have a clue as to how to fix it. So I looked on Angie's List for someone who fixed window air conditioners and found Bill's Appliance and Air. I called him and he does fix the units. After a few false starts due to no power, he was able to come over and look at my unit. He took the thing apart and said that it was beyond fixing. I will definitely recommend Bill to anyone who has appliances or anything that needs fixing! Thank you Angie's List for sending him my way.

Bill came on time and brought a helper. Together they removed the defective unit. When I saw the replacement unit I noticed it was not the same as the original one in my freezer. I had given Bill the model number and he brought the right one, but it wasn't the same as my existing one. I asked him if he wouldn't mind exchanging the ice maker he brought for the same one I had in there. He said he gladly would. This meant that he had to return the one he brought and get another one and make an additional trip. He willingly offered to do this and even though it meant double time and trouble, he wanted me to be satisfied. He returned several days later with the replacement and it wouldn't fit properly. After all this effort we ended up with the original replacement he had bought and it works perfectly. Bill was very patient and did everything I asked. Excellent service. I highly recommend Bill.

I called his office line and it took too long for him to call me back. When he did call me back he apologized for taking so long and gave me his cell phone and he said next time we need something to call him.

I called Bill on a Monday morning and told him about the loud noise that my refrigerator was making. He asked for the model number from the refrigerator. He diagnosed the problem over the phone, gave me an estimate and picked up the part that day. He came over first thing Tuesday morning and replaced the part. The price was exactly what he quoted on the phone. I will definitely call Bill for all of my future appliance repairs. His service call is only $45.00.

I bought a new gas clothes dryer and called Bill to have him install it for me. He came out the next day to do the job. (It helps that he lives only two blocks away from me.) He had the job done in about an hour.

He showed up a half hour past the 9:00 am - 11:00 am time he gave. He seemed to only know the basics of repairing the refrigerator, stressing that perhaps replacing the expensive circuit board would magically fix it, something that he says he does often. After looking it over he could find nothing wrong with it and said I shouldn't go buy any expensive meats in case it goes out again. The refrigerator has continued to stop working and by unplugging it and turning the cooling to zero and then restoring it, the refrigerator starts to work again. Nonetheless, I have called another place to have them look at it, hopefully this time I have a better experience.

We called Bill on a Monday, but he was booked until Friday due to air conditioner repair calls. On Friday, he showed up as promised and fixed our problem within a half hour. Washer is working great and we would definitely use Bill again for any major appliance repairs.

The den through-the-wall A/C in our home was making an awful noise and refused to put out any cool air. I called Bill and he came out right away and took it apart, figured out the problem (that other service people couldn't, by the way), located a replacement part, and fixed it. It works and he made an unpleasant problem that had lingered for over a year, go away. We have air in the den and Bill will have all of my appliance repair business!

He was very prompt. He saw the problem and fixed it quickly. He was very good. He was affordable and professional. I was comfortable. He was straight forward and to the point.

He was responsive to phone calls and precise in his timing. He gave me an appointment time and stuck to it. The work was performed quickly, with no mess or hassles on my part. He has a reasonable service call fee, not so high that you feel you have to go ahead with a costly repair because you have already spent so much just to get someone to come. And his charges were reasonable.

Bill came out on the date and time promised and had the dryer fixed within an hour's time. Evidently two of the coils in the burner assembly went bad and needed to be replaced. I have to say this is the third time our family has used him and I am still impressed by his work! He is thorough, knowledgeable and very conscientious. I have dealt with other appliance repair firms before joining Angie's List and to be perfectly frank, Bill is light years better that the other firms I used in the past.

He was professional and on time. He gave me some very good advice.

Bill was very nice when I called during the week to explain that my refrigerator had gradually stopped cooling and the freezer wouldn't hold a freeze any longer. My work schedule was not going to allow me to be home on a weekday for almost 2 weeks, but Bill offered to come by on Saturday morning and take a look. He arrived within the timeframe that he told me, and walked me through his investigation of the problem. It turned out the defroster unit had blown and needed to be replaced and he had the part with him. He helped to thaw the iced-over portions of the freezer so that it would run correctly again and he made sure to ask for several towels so that the melting water would not get all over my floors. The part worked, and I'm back to having chilled drinks and ice again! In total, the work took about 2 hours and everything was cleaned up before he left.

He came as arranged and diagnosed and cleaned and tested the dishwasher. He had to come back a second time to fix the door because he didn't have the parts the first time. All went smoothly and well.

Bill showed up on time as scheduled on a Saturday morning. He was professional and personable. The work was done quickly and to date the oven works perfectly.

I had a great experience. Bill squeezed me in on a Saturday with just one day's notice. He was quick, cleaned up after himself and I would highly recommend him.

Bill arrived on time and went right to work checking the most likely causes for the problem. The fix was not readily apparent (no obvious parts in the machine seemed to be broken). He made adjustments and had me run some items in the washer to see if the situation improved. It was better but he told me he would check to see if he could find out more on our model and if there was something he wasn't aware of. He told me to try and wash a lot in the next days and see if the problem comes back. I did and it is not jumping anymore! While here he also fixed a sputtering pilot light on our hot water heater. No more sputter! It is so very nice, this day and age to find a truly honest and hard working service person who will come out when they promise and cares about the job they do. What a nice surprise- he followed up with a phone call a few days later to see if the washer was working properly. I highly recommend Bill to be your first call when you have an appliance break down. Great guy!

Great - he advised us that it might not be worth it to repair the dishwasher. We decided to replace it. Will definitely call him again if we have another appliance issue.

I noticed that my refrigerator was not cooling as it should be on a Saturday night. Checked Sunday morning and still not chilling. Called Bills Appliance Sunday morning and left a message expecting to hear from them on Monday. Call back was within 30 minutes of leaving message. Did a diagnosis on the phone and new what the problem was. Said he would be at my house between 11-1, got there at noon. Did what he said he was going to do even leaving the broken part.
