Puroclean was fantastic. Ted, Efrain, and Orlando all delivered courteous and professional service. After discovering that we had 1/2" of water covering our basement utility room that was seeping into the finished/carpeted portion of our basement (due to a sump pump failure), I called nearby Puroclean. Ted promptly visited me about an hour later, quickly surveyed the scene, and provided his recommendation and estimate. After giving me some time to move wet items/boxes from the waterlogged portion of carpet, Efrain and Orlando arrived to address the water and drying of the basement. Both men worked efficiently, answered all my questions about what they were doing (and why), and confirmed for me with their instrumentation that moisture had indeed penetrated the walls/baseboards of our basement (not just soaking the carpet). They also explained what level of moisture should be behind the walls and even left a electronic diagnostic tool behind, so I could explain the situation to my wife. Efrain and Orlando strategically placed about eight industrial fans around our basement to create an airflow that would draw moisture from the walls and completely dry out the basement with the help of a huge dehumidifier. When they returned after the weekend to check the moisture levels, they even left the fans and dehumidifier another day just to be safe, even though the moisture readings behind the walls were so very close to being "normal".

The experience was below expectation. There were two different service performed. The first one was the water excavation. They removed the water and treated it. It was excellent in the beginning. I called them about 12:30 AM and they came about late morning the same day. That was excellent. They billed the insurance for equipment that was not supposedly down there but was not. I had reviewed their invoice for the additional equipment and they did correct the bill so I ended up being over charge. She was proactive and polite.

I contacted PuroClean to inspect visible mold in my basement and provide a remediation plan and related quote for the work. I left a message and was called back the next day. We discussed some windows of time that would work for each of us in the next two days. The gentleman informed me that he would definitely call me back before the end of the day to confirm one of the times. No call back. The day after, I called him and we discussed an another windown of time that would work. He again told me he would definitely fit something into that window, and call me the morning of in order to confirm. I expressed that last time, he didn't call me back, and I was incredulous - but he GUARANTEED that he would call me to tell me exactly the time he was going to arrive at my house. I stayed home from work to meet him. He never called back and I was unable to reach him on the phone. Extremely unprofessional and disappointed. My recommendation - don't waste your time with PuroClean.

Puroclean was very responsive every step of the way. They came out quickly, diagnosed the problems and recommended solutions. (Incidentally, they documented all their findings with photographs so we were confident they were not doing more than they needed to.) All the folks we dealt with, from the original estimate to the final clean-up were professional, courteous and informative. Discovering mold in your home is not pleasant and cleaning it up well is not cheap. But Puroclean left us feeling relieved and confident that all was fixed.

This is the first time we've ever had to hire a disaster clean up service. We are remodeling a second floor room addition. We knew there were mice living in the walls in that room and had been working with a pest control company to control their population over the last several years. We gutted this room to the studs during the remodeling and when the old floor was being removed we discovered several dead mice and decades of mouse droppings and some fresh mouse urine in the floor joists. (We think the addition was built in the 1960s.) We had hoped to remove the debris and disinfect the area ourselves but the extent of the problem was beyond our ability to do properly and safely. I was happy to find A-rated PuroClean Disaster Recovery in Northbrook on Angie's List. I called on a Saturday afternoon and was connected to Sam, who patiently and clearly explained the whole clean up process and non-toxic but highly effective disinfecting product they used. I received a prompt estimate on Monday and the hazmat unit was here on Tuesday to work. The area was spic and span and the air cleaned. Since my construction was on hold until this mess was cleaned up, I appreciated how fast they moved. Everyone I spoke with was courteous and professional. They even removed at no charge some of the old flooring we had in our driveway. I would definitely recommend this company to others and will use them again if ever the need arises.

Puroclean responded immediately in a time when demand for basement clean up services was high. The crew was prompt, efficient, and did an excellent job.

The experience was fine. We claimed from the insurance. The bill was about $10000. The owner was very friendly. He tried to look after our interests. He was very prompt. We called him late at night when we discovered and he came in the big car next morning.

After our basement flooded, we called a number of service providers before getting one that would promptly return our call. Puro-Clean called us back right away, but couldn't schedule anything for several days. Thus, we had already completed most of the clean up work by the time they were available to assist. Nonetheless, after several very long and very hard days of emptying our basement of all debris, ripping out carpet and drywall, etc., we thought it would be worth it to pay to have the floors and walls cleaned and sanitized, so when they called to follow up, we decided to have them do this work after all. The price was very competitive with other quotations we had received. The team arrived approximately two hours later than expected and "finished" the work in an inordinately short period of time and then left. After they had left, we inspected the basement and found it had been sanitized, but not adequately cleaned/mopped. We called the company, and to their credit, they immediately sent the team back, who did a much more thorough job the second time around. I still would not eat off the floors, but for the price as compared with other quotations we received, it was satisfactory.

We discovered white mold in our attic a few weeks ago, and my husband met with several contractors to get estimates. We selected PuroClean because they gave the most thorough assessment of the work that would be done. Our attic has many areas that are not easily accessible, and Scott from PuroClean explained how his crew would address the cleaning in those areas to my husband's satisfaction. Puroclean was available to do the work the following week, which was very convenient. Scott accompanied his crew, and walked me through the work that they would be performing. They set up a containment area by enclosing a room adjacent to the attic space and worked all day cleaning and sealing the attic when the cleaning was done. When they finished, they walked me through the attic, showing me the results of their work. I was very pleased with the professionalism of Scott and his crew. While I hope to never have to deal with mold remediation again, should it ever be necessary, we will use PuroClean to do the work. I highly recommend their work.

Scott Majeski performed a mold report review and an inspection free of charge for me. I had a previous inspection that did not find any physical evidence of mold (similar to Scott's findings) but was recommending professional remediation (by them) based on air testing in the unit, which was coming in lower than outside but high in certain types of mold. Scott enlightened me that the company doing the initial test should not have been offering to perform the remediation as this was an obvious conflict of interest. I was able to hire handymen to do some cleaning at a much lower cost (just to be safe) and still feel comfortable with the solution. High marks for ethics as well as professionalism. Thank you, Scott.

They were very good and did an excellent job. I would definitely call them again if I needed to.

When we returned from a three week vacation there was an awful smell coming out of our 2nd floor condo which we worried was mold. We found that our carpet was totally saturated with water along the walls which was caused by a roof leak. We called several companies, and Puroclean was the only one who came out to look at the space and give us a quote. Peter Quinn came to our house within two hours, looked around, determined what needed to be done. He got me a quote that day and he and his crew came out that day. This was a time of pretty intense storms in Chicago, and they were able to get out to us, rip out all the nasty stuff, set up the dryers, and still assist other customers. They came back around 9:00 am the following day, and then left the dryers running overnight. Peter came back the next day to pick up the equipment and do a final clean-up. Any time I had a question or a concern, Peter responded within just a few minutes. Peter and his crew were friendly and very helpful. I hope to never need them again but I will gladly recommend them to anyone.

Peter's crew was extremely professional and knowledgeable. They were very flexible, working around my schedule. They also kindly assisted my neighbor after they guys her insurance called didn't get the job done. Peter billed my insurance company directly so I didn't have to deal with any paperwork or payments. I would definitely use them again.

I called Peter's cell phone and discussed the issue with him. As a matter of fact, he answered the phone while waiting for his wife to give birth to another child. He was very nice and patient and set up an appointment for the following day. He came as promised took a look, gave me a good estimate and after checking his great references, I made an appointment. Since I have work, he came very early to accommodate my time just as he said he would. He promised the job would take two days and it did. He set up many industrial sized fans and humidifier to run over the weekend - which I let run though I had to watch what I connected since I blew a fuse. This was a minor inconvenience. He came that Monday to remove his equipment and finish remaining tasks. We did discuss the floor and he said he would remove as much of it as he and his crew could. When I came home, all the old flooring was removed and put into heavy duty bags. So they did more then I expected. They also removed a few odd items I requested which was nice. My only issue is that I was responsible for removing the ten bags of flooring - which has been a challenge since Evanston doesn't remove 'construction materials' I had to pay to have the stuff removed. Other then that, Peter was patient, punctual, and courteous and his pricing was best for the job. I would use him again.

Overall the experience was a good one. I met with Peter and he described the scope of the project and what to expect. His guys then came in with fans to begin drying out the carpet and he cut the drywall from around the floor. New drywall was then installed, the wall was painted, and new baseboards were installed. The carpet pad was then replaced and the carpet was restretched. Everything went as smooth as possible.

The house was a recovery from an elderly couple who never threw anything away and let dogs use the inside of the house for a toilet. The house reeked of dog urine. Peter's crew disposed of about 45 cubic yards of junk/rubbish and all carpet, pad and sub-floor and replaced the sub-floor. They cleaned and sanitized the entire house, from ceiling to floor. This was a three-bedroom 1 1/2 bath house and they completed the job in two days. They were prompt, friendly and hard-working. Peter adapted to changing conditions and requirements as the job progressed. I feel his pricing was very competitive and he is very cooperative.
