Mark came on a Sunday on a holiday weekend (Labor Day) to set up some computer equipment. He was on time, he was quick and efficient, he did a great job, he was friendly and pleasent and his rates were reasonable. I have already recommended him to friends and family.

Mark was very knowledgeable and well equipped to both handle needed as well as requested changes to our computers and a patientinstructor. We had lists of questions and requests that he responded to as well as various operational recommendations.

The problem that I had been dealing with for about a year was quickly fixed by a visit from Mark. While he was here he also tweaked a few other things. Overall I was very satisfied by the results and will surely use him again when the next problem arises except next time I won't wait so long!

This is the second time I have used Loewy Consulting, Inc. I first found the company on Angie's List. I highly recommend Loewy Consulting and I will call Loewy for any and all future computer service or repair needs. Mark does what it takes to get a good result and he seems to enjoy problem solving.

My internet connection started responding very slowly, disconnected frequently and/or failed to reset or sign on at all.I connect to the internet via a home wireless network that is shared by at least 4 other computers. None of them were having any problems at all. I had purchased an online service program from one of the "Big Box" stores and they had been pretty helpful previously so I contacted the service provider first.. Their process is to remotely access my computer. They however ran into the same problem of not being able to stay connected to the internet long enough to do anything and advised me to take the computer to the store where I had purchased my plan so they could connect through an ethernet cable. They said they had fixed the problem but when I got home the problem continued. After a second visit to the store I had the same result so I decided to have the computer checked by an independent computer specialist. Through an Angie's list search I selected and called Loewy Consulting and talked to Mark. I was immediately impressed with Mark's interest in helping me with my problem. I was equally impressed with that he asked a lot of questions on the phone to get a good idea of what he would be looking at when he came out. We made an appointment for the next day and Mark arrived right on time and. he spent a little more that an hour trying to diagnose the problem. I, having little knowledge of the inner working of a computer, cannot detail what Mark did other than to state he ran a lot of diagnostics and checked the router for our in-house wireless network. He finally said that he had never run into anything like the problem I was having. (I must interject at this point that I had no reservations about Mark's expertise or professionalism and appreciated his candidness.) He could only offer that the problem could be internal with my computer, more specifically with my internal internet wireless card. He suggested attaching a separate wireless adapter therefore bypassing the internal wireless card. If that didn't work we could consider restoring the computer to its original factory settings. Finally he also suggested connecting to an outside wireless network, i.e. Starburcks. Mark at this point offered not to charge for his service call since he did not solve my problem--I refused the offer. Mark was very professional, obviously knowledgeable and experienced. He did as well as anyone could expect and had earned his fee. OK, I have no good explanation for the following but here it is. I did buy an internet adapter, installed it--my problem continued at home. I did take my computer to an outside Wi-Fi location and logged onto the internet both with and without using the adapter--everything ran beautifully! I returned the adapter and got my money back. Having resigned myself to having to try restoring my computer I was going to contact Mark to do so when I got home. Here's where it get spooky. I sat down in my living room when I got home decided for no particular reason decided to try and sign on. To my amazement my internet connection worked beautifully and has done so for almost 3 weeks now. Prior to this I was exclusively using my computer in an area of the laundry room where I had set up a small work area. I, rightly or wrongly, inferred that something in the laundry room was interfering with my wireless connection, but I was hesitant to try and log on in there again in case it would mess things up. I finally did give it a try and, you guessed it, all my problems returned. Fortunately though I can still sign on in my living room, outside in the back yard and at other outside Wi-Fi locations all without having any issues at all. I have moved my office location. There is no logical explanation for my computer issues but I must emphasize again that these issues appear to be unique to me and therefore no reflection on anyone that tried to assist me, most especially Mark at Loewy Consulting, Inc. He will be my go to guy going forward.

I left a voicemail message for Loewy Consulting on a Sunday afternoon and received a follow up call shortly thereafter (w/in 1 hr). He was able to identify the problem with my operating system over the phone and walked me through the steps I needed to take to fix the problem. He was professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. I would definitely use again.

After finding this company on Angie's list I called to set up an appointment. Mark Lowenstein was very responsive in returning my call, discussing our problem, and scheduling an appointment that was actually quite convenient for us. He showed up on time and very quickly was able to assess the situation, ascertain the problems, and correct them. He explained things when asked but did not unnecessarily get into the too-technical details. He was accommodating and personable -- and knowledgeable. He not only addressed the problems but made other recommendations that were very helpful. This job was to help out a friend of mine who lives in Park Ridge who was really struggling and very frustrated with his computer. He is now a "happy camper."

Came to the house quickly after I called about a loud noise from the computer. Showed me the problem (a fan) and also showed me how to replace the part myself so that I wouln't need to have him come for another service call. Very knowledgeable and professional. Will definitely use again when computer problems arise.

My computer is operating much better now and the problems that I had have not returned. I would definitely call Mark again if more problems arise.

My computer suddenly crashed and would not boot up yesterday and I panicked. I was sure it was my video card that blew so I overnighted a new one from Newegg.com but that did not fix the problem. I looked up Mark from Angieslist and left him a voicemail. Within 30 minutes he called me back and asked for what was going on. He recommended I go to CDW or another local outlet and pick up a power supply tester. Even though I had LEDs lit on the motherboard he thought the power supply was the issue. If it is a dud then obviously replace that and you're good to go. He felt that was 95% the chance that was my problem. I asked "If that is working fine then should I call you back?" He said at that point it would be the mother board and he won't service those (no one does, you just buy a new one). So he offered me free advice and hopefully a solution to my problem. Very nice and professional as well.

I had a very good experience and feel confident that I know where I can get fast and effective help with my computer and internet issues when I need it. I would highly recommend Mark and Loewy Consulting and have in fact contacted him for help with some additional computer issues.

Mark was great. He came over on a Satruday when I needed the appointment. He was prompt and very knowledgeable. He did everything I asked very efficiently and even gave me some tips and advice that saved me money. I will reccommend him to all my friends.

I clipped an ad from Angie's List several months ago, and finally decided to give Mark Lowenstein a call. I left a voicemail, and Mark called back within an hour. He said he was in the area and could stop by about an hour and a half later. Mark showed up when he said he would. I explained and showed him the problem, and he had a quick and simple solution. He ran to his car to get some supplies, came back, and started to hook up a few wires. Soon my printer was working. He fixed 6 months of my frustration in 15 minutes. I am very happy with his punctuality and his simple and affordable answer.

Mark responded promptly to my voice message and set up a time to come out the same morning. He arrived at the time promised Although I was at work when he came (my husband and daughter were home), he called me on my cell to let me know that he found 38 viruses on my daughter's laptop and was able to clear them all up. He also installed a new router and hooked up the system. I have used Mark in the past, always for the same problem, and have always had a positive experience.

They had a special discount where you get 2 hours of repair time for the price of 1. He finished before the 2 hours and was able to clear several things up for me. I would certainly recommend him and use him again.

Mark was wonderful, he was on time, extremely friendly and got to work right away. He set up everything in less than a 1/2 hour and now my wireless is working perfectly!! I would use Mark again in a heart beat, he is extremely knowledgeable and is an expert at his craft.

I have a commercial piece of wireless equipment that was configured properly and communicating with my network and the router was communicating back with the device. My desktop was able to communicate with the device but my laptop couldn't. Mark did not resolve the issue as to why my laptop was not communicating with the wireless device,however, he pinpointed where the problem was located which was huge. We didn't know if the problem was with the router, my laptop, the firewall, or the device itself. Mark successfully pinpointed the problem was with my Linksys router but we could not pinpoint what the problem with the router was. However, when I called tech support for Linksys, the tech support person also could not pinpoint the problem and my case was escalated to a level 2 tech. The level 2 (along with someone assisting her in the background) could not locate the problem until after one hour. Considering it took 2 tech's from Linksys/Cisco to diagnose and resolve the issue with their own equipment, I could not have an expectation for Mark to find it. But the fact that Mark was able to pinpoint the problem was the router, saved me hours of calling tech support from the internet security software company, the laptop company support, or the tech support of the commercial device I am using.

Our company changed internet providers and most of our computers were unable to connect to the internet and network. I left a voicemail message for Mark at around 4:30 PM and didn't expect to hear from anybody until the next day. Mark called back five minutes later and arrived shortly before 5:00 PM. He had every computer connected in less than an hour. The only glitch was a static IP address issue with our custom database software. Mark reassigned the IP address for the server and gave me the information I needed to have the software company change their program. By 9:00 AM the next morning, everything was working properly. When all this started, I thought I would be paying for my employees to be twiddling their thumbs, staring at non-functioning computers for at least half a day. Because of Mark's fast service, my employees didn't even notice a lapse in service.

I placed an email to Mark to seek his assistance for my mother’s computer, monitor and printer issues. I received a prompt email reply and scheduled a meeting with Mark a few days later. He arrived on time and was a very pleasant and professional person to work with. Mark diagnosed and fixed all issues quickly and efficiently. Mark offered suggestions to work around future problems and which saved us both unnecessary time and expense. Both my mother and I plan to use Mark in the future and very highly recommend him to Angie's List subscribers.

I purchased a $99 groupon for 2 hrs of computer services with Loewy Consulting, and had a great experience with Mark Lowenstein. He was right on time, and was a joy to work with. I've had too many computer consultants out to the house over the years whom I didn't feel comfortable around, but Mark was great. We are an all-Mac family, and Mark was very upfront with me from the start that his specialty is PCs. However, he had no problem whatsoever connecting two wireless printers to the five different mac computers in our house. Our computer/printer connections had been completely messed-up for months, and Mark got everything operating perfectly again. We couldn't be happier, and would highly recommend him to anyone with PCs or simple Mac networking issues.
