I have had some serious issues with my Comcast high speed internet service since moving in several months ago. All of my devices that were connected to my wireless service were running off of a ridiculously slow connection. Mark arrived precisely as he scheduled and looked over my computer and supporting wireless hardware (modem and router). He determined that the problem was in the router (and specifically the bands that my router was running on). He recommended another type of router (NetGear) and he had brought a spare with him that he said I could try for a few days. He said that if it didn't work out, I could return it to him free of charge. Since Mark installed the new router, I feel that my Comcast high speed internet is actually running at high speed for the first time ever. Mark also took the time to install a free antivirus / anti-spyware on my computer. The bottom line is that Mark was very professional, courteous, knowledgeable and efficient about my situation. If I have any other home computer issues, I am certainly going to call him first.

We have used Mark for years and he always comes through to solve our computer issues. This time it was our slow browser/wireless router speed. We have Windows XP and were using Internet Explorer (which no longer offers speed upgrades for XP). Surfing became so painfully slow that our back-up dial-up service was faster than our high speed cable connection. Mark was able to change some of the router settings and like magic we were back up to speed. Mark consistently responds promptly, is always professional and personable, and gets the job done. We will continue to use him for all our computer issues.

Mark did a nice job helping me get wifi throughout my home. Unfortunately we had to sit on the phone with Comcast for about an hour due to their system being down. Mark gave me a break on the price seeing as we were just waiting for Comcast to not be so incompetent. I really appreciated that and would have him back if we needed anything else. He also gave me a follow up call the next day to make sure everything was still working well.

Over the phone he estimated the job would take 2 hours but it only took 1 hour. I was pretty impressed by how fast and efficient he was. We will definitely hire him again!

Mark is a wonderful person and an expert technician. He knows exactly what needs to be done and doesn't waste time doing it. One thing that stands out is how patient and kind he is. Every time he finished doing something, he would ask, "What's next?" Whenever I had questions, he answered them without talking down to me or making me feel stupid. Because of Mark, I was able to save hundreds of dollars by keeping my old laptop computer instead of having to buy a new one. If you are looking for a great computer repairman, I highly recommend Mark.

Mark diagnosed the problem over the phone; played the role of my internet service provider and a computer expert. He came over and in one hour with alot of explanation of red wires; green wires; blue wires; black wires that in my case went in one ear and out the other.......solved my problem! He was a true service provider. Imagine someone who actually assumed I had a full time day job and wanted to come over to diagnose post 6pm on any given day that I wanted?!? Can you imagine how easy life would be if they were available when YOU were available?!? A consumate professional who with his 20+ years experience has seen my type of problem probably a 1000 times. I had gotten other quotes including from my WIFI provider that were 4X more expensive. Kudos to Mark for his effort that day.

I brought the laptop to Mark on Monday, heard from him on Tuesday with his diagnosis of the problem. It was ready on Wednesday. I could not have been happier. The laptop is totally operational now, and I was extremely satisfied with his work and the cost. Great job!

It went smoothly! All computers have perfect wireless connectivity. He returned phone calls and was more than willing to talk us through an issue (minor and of my own creation!) following his visit. Always a relief when your expectations are exceeded in a timely manner by a nice guy.

I had an issue with my PC involving the nvvssvc.exe program which left my screen black with no options to proceed to internet, programs etc. I learned that this was an Invidia Video card/process but could also be a virus hidden within. Afraid that our files were somehow deleted via a worm, etc. I called Mark and described the issue. He came the same day and was promptly here at the appointment time. He tried a few easy processes with the hopes they would work. They didn't work, however I appreciated he tried the easiest methods first. Eventually he was able to get a system restore process running which took well over an hour. At the end there was an error message stating the restore couldn't complete, but lo and behold it appeared to work after all. Now Mark did confess to me upfront that he was not well versed in Windows 8, but attempted to do some configuring in Windows 8 with my approval. The changes did not work well and my original User name was deleted and a new user created. However this deleted all my shortcut tiles and we've had much work to get them restored including my Outlook access. Mark was here a little over 3 hours due to the length of time for the restore process, but he only charged me for 2 hours and still honored the 10% off coupon for Angie's List customers. Mark was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable in most computer applications. Down to earth and easy to discuss problems and possible solutions. I would definitely recommend his services, (unless you have Windows 8).

He was successful downloading the info a a disc and returned computer and disc to us. We needed to take it to a recommended place for further fixing.

Mark honed in on the problem and the fix immediately. Appreciated the short interval of time between my contacting him by phone and his being able to fit me into his schedule. As a result, my computer was up and running within 24 hours. Mark showed me exactly what he did to correct the issue so that I could attempt to make the correction myself if it were to happen again. I was not getting in-coming email in Thunderbird. On an old laptop. He was able to diagnose the problem and fix it so I am now receiving email. It went much better then I expected. He was able to communicate with me as to the problem and listened to what I said, and my lack of correct computer terminology didn't seem to bother him. He is not a typical "computer n***" -- he has social and communication skills, a big plus. A business person as well as a computer person. I highly recommend him for his computer skills, his communication skills, business approach and professional attitude.

Mark L responded quickly to my request for service. He understood the problem immediately and hooked up the devise to transfer data. Left it, so he wouldn't have to wait for several hours for date to transfer. After transfer was complete called him to pick it up.

Technician came to my home assessed the problem and provided a timely solution within the parameters of the Big Deal. Able to explain what the problem was to a relatively uninformed consumer. No problems.

We have been using Loewy Consulting for several years now and continue to be very pleased with Mark Loewenstein's service. He is by far the best computer consultant we've ever hired. Mark responds quickly to phone messages/e-mails and is professional and courteous. His technical knowledge is impressive, yet if he can't do something, he will be honest about it and direct you to other resources rather than wasting your time and money. He expertly installed our new our external hard drive. In 2011 (we neglected to write a separate review for this service), he successfully recovered one of our hard drives after it had crashed and we discovered the automatic back-ups were not viable and up-to-date. He prevented a potential data disaster for my husband's business. I have recommended Loewy Consulting to several friends and will continue to do so in the future.

It was the best experience possible even though my computer was probably DOA. Mark was personable, upfront, & communicative. Mark called at least every other day and told us the status of the situation.

Mark was able to start the computer and I got the files that I needed, but the computer still has an undetected technical problem that makes it loss half of its memory and which makes it difficult to start. I am happy that Mark got the computer to start, but unhappy that there is still a computer gulch.

You don't have to look any farther. Mark IS the person to hire for your computer needs. Two other companies, including Best Buy, tried to access the broken hard-drive to extract five years of my father's photos and both failed! Since the photos were so important to him and my family I was not willing to give up so easily. So after reading the reviews for Loewy Consulting on Angies List I contacted them via email. Mark replied the same day. We discussed the problem over the phone and then I mail the broken hard drive to him. He called the day he received it and while we were on the phone he accessed the hard-drive, found all the photos and saved them to a DVD! The next day I received the DVD in the mail. We were so thrilled! Mark is prompt, professional, friendly, affordable and effective. Hire him now.

This guy is GREAT!!! My computer suddenly wouldn't connect to the internet. I picked Loewy based on Angie's List ratings, and I'm so glad I did. Rather than charging me for a service call, he said he had a pretty good idea what the problem was by what I described, and he gave me the instructions to fix it by myself - FOR FREE. I couldn't be more impressed with his integrity.
