We had a 1 year old A/C unit with a persistent but intermittent noise. American Weathermakers never gave up finding the issue, kept coming to find the cause. They worked with the manufacturer to solve the problem. Others might have just told us to live with it, but they did not. I recommend them highly!

Used them for years, always good work performed

Scheduled a tune up for my furnace. Technician was cleaning the circuit board and sparks blew. Luckily I was watching him, I asked why there was sparks. Went on about how I need to purchase a new circuit board when I told him it was working fine but he just blew some circuits. Long story short he left saying I need to buy a new circuit board. I called the management and stated exactly what happen and management agreed it was their tech mistake. They sent another tech to correct what the previous tech messed up. They fixed the problem but I was not happy the problem was caused by their tech in the first place and he was trying to make me buy material when he caused the malfunction and try to slyly slide outta the problem by saying it was broken when he clearly short circuited the board. Just made me mad thinking if I didn’t watch him he would have screwed me

It's a long story, but here it is in broad strokes. I had been using American Weathermakers since 2010 when I first got my 2 flat building and was satisfied with their service. However, in 2018, I called them because my air handler for my A/C was leaking water from the bottom. AM suggested the drain line was clogged charged me $278 to blow the line out. That didn't solved the problem so I called them back a couple days later to let them know, and they suggested I have the drain line rebuilt because (according to them) it wasn't pitched properly. I declined, cuz it worked fine for the first 8 years I lived here, and the issue clearly wasn't the pitch of the drain line. Unit continued to leak until 2020, when I decided to call another company, about the issue. It took the other company 5 minutes to diagnose it as needing an R-22 freon recharge. I looked back on the AM invoice from 2018, and they checked the freon and wrote down the pressure and I had it confirmed by the other company that the pressure was INDEED LOW back in 2018 based on what AM wrote!! Draw your own conclusions. So, I had to pay for a repair I didn't need, and a service call from another company and for a freon recharge from yet a 3rd company. Now the unit is working fine with no leaks. UGH. Will never use American Weathermakers again. Oh, and when I wanted to discuss the matter with them, I was ignored for weeks and had to keep hounding them, and their customer service manager was arrogant, argumentative and in denial mode, and offered me a paltry settlement compared to what I'm out due to their misdiagnosis of a simple problem.

Have used for over 30 years. Have been great for furnace replacement and maintenance and A/C replacement and maintenance. Also used them to do my last water heater replacement. They also take care of the central humidifier and air cleaner. Love the Comfort Club for the ease of scheduling all annual servicing.

Very well. They fixed it the next day and were several hundred dollars below the quote we had from another company. I would definitely call them again

Their technicians are great. I have purchased a new heater and a new AC unit from them. However, both times I have had present them with other estimates to get their pricing down. I really hate it when a business does not present their best price from the beginning. It makes me feel like I am being scammed and it puts more on my plate in terms of finding competitive quotes, etc. I understand that businesses are trying to profitable, but when you are clearly tacking on an additional 25% (literally thousands of dollars in my experience with them) it gives me a bad feeling. They are reliable and the work is good, but not at the markups they are doing. Always get competitive quotes when working with them. Even the comfort club service doesn't quite give the value they claim. For example, you can get air filters for much less than what they are charging directly from the manufacturer. Good folks, just a bad business model that makes their customers do more work than is needed and sets up distrust in their pricing.

Pre-summer preventive maintenance on the AC compressor and system. No surprises. On time. The tech observed COVID-19 protocols. There may be cheaper options, but I have confidence in their competence and quality.

They are always professional ,knowledgeable and easy to work with. Honestly don’t know what more I could ask for.

American Weathermakers installed a new furnace, new humidifier, and new ductwork for the exhaust. The job was performed professionally, on time, and cleanly. Would recommend and hire again.

American Weathermakers is 2nd HVAC company I called on 02/27/2020. The 1st company already diagnosed the problem was the igniter, and beyond the repair because of the safety reason. Since they do not have the license in Kildeer area, they cannot give the quote to replace the unit. The main reason I called American Weathermakers was to get the quote and the second opinion, and the American phone representative did NOT tell me there is a diagnostic charge (if they did tell me on the phone, I would not schedule with them at all, because I knew what was the problem). Before the American technician doing anything, I told him it was the igniter problem because of the 1st company's paper work, and the technician confirmed it in 30 seconds, suggested to replace the unit, and he spent rest of time doing paper work for quoting the new unit. Since that American Weathermakers sent couple of letters and want charge me the $89 diagnostic charge. what a dishonored company! will never use them again.

I'm pretty sure what needs to be repaired with my furnace based on other estimate and a specific fault code, yet this company refused to provide any type of ballpark estimate for the repair without paying $90 for a visit.

Service was performed and received unexpected follow-up call from AWeathermakers manager. Great communication and highly recommend - will use them again.

Furnace stopped working during the night, called in the morning and got a technician at my place a few hours later. Technician, Mat, diagnosed the issue to be the thermostat.

For 3 years the spring tuneup had required additional Freon. Checking the system and repair we’re going to be very costly. Since we’v been long-time customers and had repeated problems with a unit they’d installed several years ago, they checked and repaired at no additional cost to us. Unit is working fine now for 2 months.
