Their service providers are well trained and do excellent work without wasting any time. They leave their work areas as clean as they were before their work was started. They give suggestions as to reducing the operating costa of each system. We use their optional two-year service contract for servicing the furnace, air conditioning and humidifier. This service contract also provides discounts on parts when necessary.

They were timely, seemed to be honest, punctual, and maintained our systems twice a year. We had a maintenance plan to reduce costs for repairs, which we had to do on our units a couple of times. They helped us prolong the lives of the units (just replaced) as opposed to trying to sell us new ones before we needed them.

They are always prompt, thorough, friendly. When needed in an emergency they respond quickly with no delay.

This company is reliable and efficient. They service the equipment, offer suggestions if needed. They are on time and are careful to keep the area they work clean. We signed up for a pre-pay plan and it works very well. They remind us when we should schedule a service call. This is very helpful as it acts to prevent problems when we would least want it (e.g. a heat wave).

At 8am, we noticed our furnace of 12 years was not functioning. I called the furnace provider we were using at the time who didn't return our calls. The outside temperatures were in the 20's and I needed to line up someone to repair the furnace that day. I called American Weathermakers who had a "live" person answer right away. The man said someone would be out to my home within 1-2 hours, which is what happened. The technicians were clear and concise as to the problem. I could either replace a part for $1500 or have a new furnace installed. I chose the latter. The decision was made by noon. Like magic, another crew came and installed the furnace the same day. They were very efficient, friendly, and completed the job perfectly. There were some issues to be addressed in the installation of a more fuel efficient furnace which they handled with ease. The technicians and crew clearly explained what the problems were with the old one and recommended the advantages (as well as savings) of installing a new furnace. Upon completion of their work, the basement was left clean and all of the old furnace was taken away. Early on, I commented that I didn't like where the humidifier was placed when the old furnace was installed. It was in the way, walking to the washing machine. (hitting your head) They said, "No problem. We can fix that." and they did! From beginning to end, every thing was handled in a professional manner. I couldn't have asked for better. I recommend this company to everyone. They are responsive, address emergencies immediately, courteous, knowledgeable, etc. I wish I had started using them years ago.

We use the same package for the same service every year and it comes with a discount if you end up needing a repair the following year. We are very happy with the service and will continue to use them in the future. They're also neat, and don't leave a mess. They do air conditioning and regular furnaces, but we use them for our boiler.

We've been using them for years. They always respond quickly when we call, they have reasonable prices, and they have friendly technicians that do quality work. They also do a good job of explaining their prices.

Amer W did not have the best price, but was willing to match another better offer. I am pleased to stick with this stand up company. (The installer did make one minor error, leaving a slow leak upon reconnecting the water feed to the humidifier, but this was caught in the separate a/d check a few weeks later.

This last time they came out, they stated that we had a crack in our furnace and that it needed to be replaced. We decided to get another option. Upon the inspection from the other company, they discovered that that our furnace was never connected to our chimney. And as a result we were experiencing symptoms, of carbon monoxide poisoning such as headaches and flu like symptoms caused by carbon monoxide leaking into the house from the ducts. I would give them an F for lying and trying con us into replacing our furnace, which was not necessary.

They did a good job overall. The lead installer, Jose, was extremely professional. He kindly explained everything to me and made sure I was informed about the process. He was very patient walking me thru everything even though he had worked all day and into the evening. The company appears to have good people working for them and care about doing the job right. I would use them again if I needed more HVAC work done.

My wife and I moved into our first house in June. The furnace and A/C had not been serviced in a while and we have 3 thermostats which we couldn't figure out how they all worked together. As the heating and cooling had been done by American Weathermakers in the past we thought we would give them a chance to be our heating and cooling firm. When we called to make an appointment, they knew the previous owner of our house, the previous dates of service, and the equipment. We told them that we had just moved in and would like someone to come out to clean our A/C unit as well as explain the multiple thermostats to us. We thought this would be pretty straightforward. Unfortunately it was not. The tech came out and could not figure out our thermostats. He then attempted to clean our A/C unit, but couldn't. He didn't bring a long enough hose to reach our unit (and our house is not huge by any means). As we had just moved in, we did not have a hose yet either. I was disappointed with American Weathermakers because they could not solve the 2 issues I asked them to and they knew we were new owners. At this point, I was still going to give American Weathermakers another chance to come out and fix the problem. I realize that things don't always go perfectly. Then the tech asked me to pay him for this visit. For what I asked? You couldn't tell me how the thermostats worked and you couldn't clean my A/C unit. To make sure that you call us back so we can service your AC he replied (I am paraphrasing some). I told him absolutely not, and he spent 15 minutes talking to his manager to explain that we were not paying for service (because there were none performed). Finally the tech said that we did not owe them any money for the visit. The tech then tried to leave. However he could not as he had locked his keys in their van which was in the middle of our driveway so he had to call the main office to get support. Of course this was the date of a potential large hail storm in the Chicago area and we couldn't get our car into the garage because his van was blocking the driveway. I wish I was making this up. Luckily no damage happened to our car. Needless to say I will not be calling American Weathermakers again. They didn't listen to us when we told them what sort of help we needed, they didn't come prepared, and then they tried to charge us for not being able to perform the service we hired them to do.

Excellent. Everything was laid out very specifically. Dick was patient with all my questions when I called. The installer was neat, knowledgeable, efficient . So far unit is working far better than what we've had for 17 years!

They are very professional. They are always on time and keep their appointments. The repair people are very knowledgeable, if they think something needs to be replaced they explain why and actually show you the part.

Our AC suddenly stopped working. We decided to call American Weathermakers because they did the original install of our furnace/AC (done by the previous owners of the house 8 years ago). Turned out we needed a new blower motor in the furnace. They quickly diagnosed the problem, ordered the new part, and got things up and running again. I was happy with their service. Also, everyone I dealt with there was friendly and pleasant to work with. I would use them again.

I have used them a few year and have had no complaints up until this last time. The guy who came out was the first time he has came to my home. He seemed like he worked much faster than any of the other workers, which I didn't think was a problem. He even signed off on the work he did on the receipt. Since then there has been a major leak going from my apartment to multiple others throughout my building.

They are very clean, they leave nothing behind, and extremely prompt. When you make an appointment they call 30 minutes in advance, and are very professional. If they see a potential problem coming they let us know and advise us if it would be worth spending money to fix it now, or wait until later, or if we need to get a new one. Our furnace and air conditioner work great 10 years after they initially installed it and they maintain both of these very well. The $482 is for 2 years of heating and air conditioning maintenance.

great experience! technician, Ryan, was courteous, friendly, thorough, and contentious. it was raining the morning of the appointment and they called to see if I wanted to reschedule since they would be dragging hoses in to the house. I am very happy with the work and the service.

They call and make an appointment and they come out when they say they will. They are very professional and kind every time. I would recommend them to anyone.

We first starting using their services in 1985 and we continued using their services until 2008. We had very good experiences with them. The only reason we no longer use their services is because we no longer live in the area.

They have been great! We are a part of their Comfort Club and I appreciate the reminders they send for upcoming services needed. They also provide us with coupons for service. They are always careful to put booties over their shoes and keep things clean. They have very good staff in their office.

I've been using them for a number of years. The work turned out very good.

The repairman was punctual and professional. After initial diagnosis he confirmed that the thermo-couple was bad and needed to be replaced. Their charges for replacing a thermo-couple, which costs about $10 at home-depot, including labor was $280, which is rather steep. However, it was the middle of winter, and a Saturday, so didn't have much of a choice. However, the work was done in time and is of good quality.
