Scientific Home Services were excellent from start to finish. Jon was in charge of the project. He helped us select the best windows that were efficient and well constructed. Jon was very reasonable when we were quoted. We had other quotes from other window companies, but they could not beat Scientific Home services price. Workmanship was top notch as well. The workers were very careful and very clean. They did not leave the house messy in any way. I highly recommend the company and would continue using them for future projects! It went great! First, Jon Koloms came to our house for a free consultation.. We learned a lot, and we were very impressed with Jon's knowledge and his manner. We were also very happy with the prices he presented. He emailed us a proposal, which we signed and returned with a deposit. Mike came over to do precise measurements of all our windows and sliding glass door. It was estimated that the windows would arrive in 6 weeks or so, though that was a bit delayed due to some production delays at the window manufacturer. When the windows came in, we set up the installation date for the following week. The 2 installers, Damian and Yuri, did a terrific job, and were very professional and tidy. The windows all fit perfectly, and the caulking was done very nicely. We were very pleased with the whole project from start to finish, and we'd highly recommend Scientific Home Services to anyone needing new windows.

Exceeded all of my expectations. The work was top notch, the intrusion on my home during the installation was minimal. I did not need to move ANYTHING. The installers did it all! The workers were respectful and highly skilled. The cleanup after the job was thorough and the place was immaculate. I cannot give a higher recommendation, Was completely satisfied in everyway. SHS was not the absolute lowest cost, but they were very close in price and the overall value in the high quality SoftLite windows installed to perfection made all the difference. I think it has been said many times that the quality of the installation is every bit as important as the quality of the windows going in. SHS really got it right. Do not hesitate to use them.

We had 50+ year old windows replaced in our basement. The company owners were very responsive with regards to the initial inquiry, came out shortly after at a scheduled time, were on time and immediately gave me a quote. Once the windows arrived (which was within the estimated time they quoted me) we easily scheduled the installation. They were punctual, did a great job, and cleaned up completely. The price was very reasonable, as we had a number of quotes. The windows look great and we are very excited.

Scientific staff made this process virtually stress free. They obtained the permit needed, installed the windows and even cleaned up inside the house when they finished the job. I highly recommend this company.

Two man crew showed up on time and did a great job.

They replaced eight windows with Marvin windows, both double hung and casement. In addition, they clad the exterior of the new windows, 3 dormers, and 16 other windows with cladding that really did match our trim paint pretty darned well. The entire staff was great to deal with, from the estimator to the installers and billing department. They use hard working installers who take pride in their work and put in the hours to get the job done well. Price-wise, they were in the middle of the three estimates we got -- but the quality of their work is far superior to that of the company we had used in the past (the low bidder) for Marvin windows. Much to our pleasant surprise, they were able to install the windows about 2 weeks earlier than originally estimated. I wish all home improvement companies were as professional and good as these folk.

I have used Scientific Home Services to replace all the windows in my house. The picture window was the last of the bunch. I have never been less that extremely satisfied with the quality of the workmanship, the quality of the windows themselves and the service that I get from SHS. The salesperson, Jon, was extremely helpful in helping me to make good choices and get everything measured and started. The crew that came out and did the work was excellent. From first covering all the furniture with plastic sheeting to vacuuming up every speck of dust at the finish, they were courteous and professional. I was very happy with the windows and the work done. If I had more windows, I would use SHS again. Not having any, I would gladly recommend them to anyone needing replacement windows for their house.

Just wonderful. Joe came by for the measure and estimate. He listened to me. He answered a ll my questions. He's very knowledgeable. There windows were a tad different from his three competitors. They have kevlar and silicon built into them. Home Scientific are invators. I like that. There price third lowest out of four. I got a price that day. Now, install day. I called Mark the day before. They to were to arrive about 8-8:30. The crew was here 8:01. Damon was very professional, respectful and attentive to my concerns. I could tell they were experienced at what they do. I have an old house. I knew some challenges would pop up. The crew took down all the mini blinds and replaced when the new window was installed. My kitchen window was unusual. The quarter round they installed left me with no little side projects. A nice surprise. The crew installed 12 windows in about 8 hours. They cleaned up very well. Damon showed me how to operate the windows before he left. All of the caulking looks very clean and well done. I've very happy with the whole process. There window also have a lifetime warranty for as long as you own the house. I got nothing bad to say. Book 'um Dano! (Hawaii Five-O) you'd be stupid not to.

We had three windows replaced and are very pleased with the customer service, installation and final product. The free estimate was informative, the pricing was competitive and the product is great. Communication with Jon and team was easy and the installation went wonderfully. Highly recommend.

We were completely satisfied with Scientific through the entire process. Based on the many reviews I read on Angie's List and, in particular, the excellent reviews for this company, we decided to call Scientific Home Services. We were impressed with their personal attention to our needs, how they explained everything and answered all of our questions, from our initial meeting with Jonathan to the installation of the windows and completion of the job. No pushy sales people here - Jonathan treated us with respect; he and everyone else at SHS do everything they can to provide a positive experience for you. The installers did their jobs efficiently and took care to protect your property where they worked - inside and out - and they even cleaned the windows before they left! What a nice touch! There were a couple glitches (wrong windows) which they promptly re-ordered and came out to finish up as soon as they arrived. If something is wrong, they will make it right. Bottom line: We highly recommend Scientific Home Services. Great people, great windows, great service. If you want to get quotes from other companies, by all means, do. But also consider having SHS come out, too, before you make your final decision. I think you'll find out, as we did, why they receive so many positive reviews.

Scientific was excellent. Professional, prompt, and quick. Couldn't hope for any better--very happy with their work!

This review is way over due. Scientific and Jon were great from beginning to end! There was honest and upfront pricing with no gimmicks or sales tactics. They replaced all the windows on our home in one day. The installers did a great job - no dust, debris or garbage inside or outside of the home. You could not even tell they were there. We love our windows and feel that we got great windows and quality installation. You should definitely get a quote from Scientific and Jon to compare.

The work and planning was outstanding. The installation was seamless, the cleanup impeccable, and the attention to detail on our home was amazing. The house is in an historic district and it is clear everyone involved knew exactly how to handle such old homes. Great job.

They replaced five windows in our house. The old ones were not very well insulated. Scientific Home Services gave the best quote and were able to replace all five windows in one morning. We're happy with the result. I'd hire them again.

I can't believe I forgot to leave a review since we had such a great experience. We have more windows than walls in our 1100 square foot home and needed the triple pane high quality windows. Scientific was great to work with and Jon was very accomodating and explained everything in detail. The crew he sent to do the work ended up working in a horrible snow storm to replace all our windows and in extremely cold temps. They were always on time and clean and couldn't have done a better job. Several years later the windows are still great quality and easy to clean. They also improved the curb appeal of our house.

There were a couple of minor problems along the way, but everything went smoothly, and we are happy with the service and the product. This company does not have a showroom, so you must educate yourself about the product you are considering. We told all the vendors from the 3 companies that we wanted a wood, complete replacement, not insert windows. Another vendor had a slick, but high-pressure presentation with a price that was only good if you committed to it immediately. The third vendor tried to sell us the cheapest product, although we had stated that we wanted a premium product. Then he named a price, but forgot to furnish a printed estimate.

I wish we had the same great experience as other people seem to have had reading past reviews. I based part of our hiring on them. Our process started with a quote from Jon (Vice President). He was polite and professional, and we felt comfortable going forward with scientific to replace our windows. We wanted a company that was service first, knowing that most Windows offered are about the same, and that the install makes the difference. We placed our order, just under $10,000.00 on 6/13/2017. The first hiccup came August 1st when I inquired when our Windows would be in, Mark called me back and said that the windows had arrived last week, and that he was planning on calling me. Odd that we weren't called earlier, but okay. Install day came and passed on August 14, 2017. Everything seemed fine, the installers put back up our curtains and blinds, life went on. A few weeks passed and I started to clear our yard for new landscaping install when I noticed a large strip (12-14 inches) of exterior caulk falling off of a back window . I checked the rest of the exterior of the windows, and found that the largest front windows were a mess. The old caulk was never removed, and the new caulk was applied over it. I was able to pull a foot long strip of caulk off by hand. I called Jon, who forwarded me to Mark (President) to schedule a repair. I was then contacted by Victor, who scheduled the repairs for September 21,2017. I had to work, but was told that by Victor that I didn't need to be home for him to do the exterior repairs. Victor called once he got to my house and he immediately asked "have you already paid for this?" My heart sank, I knew what was coming. He went on to tell me the bad news, in his opinion the windows were installed poorly, and that the installers had done a bad job. He told me that he would do his best to fix it, but he thought that the Windows needed to be re installed. Furthermore he said that he would talk to Mark about a reinstall or a refund. Almost two weeks passed with no calls from anyone, so I called and asked to speak to Mark, he said that he had no idea what I was talking about , and that he needed to speak with Victor. Mark called a bit later and offered to re-cap the exterior front windows, or I could leave them the way they were, and that they were installed correctly ( they just looked like crap). I asked for the the front Windows to be re-capped. Mark assured me that the repairs will be done right and that I would be taken care of . He said that his installers had a busy schedule and that he would call me next week to schedule a time for the repairs. Another week and a half past with no calls . I called Mark on October 25, 2017 to ask about the repairs he again seemed to have no idea what I was talking about . Now during all this time in between phone calls I took the opportunity to further investigate the interior of the windows and found numerous problems. Every window had caulk that was cracking, several windows were actually separating/cracking along the vinyl framing. Two windows had yellow glue stains on them , and another white window was turning brown. Our largest front window has an interior crack in the vinyl and two areas where the vinyl was separating . I emailed Mark all of these concerns along with photos and he simply replied that the repairs would be done on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Again I would not be home for the repairs, my wife was home (taking a day off) to point out the problems and was assured that they would be repaired. When I got home later in the day I quickly looked at our interior kitchen and dining room Windows. Cracked caulk, I inspected the rest, it looked as if the repairs consisted of a bad attempt at re caulking that didn't work. All of the cracks were still visible, and no repairs to the vinyl were made. The exterior was re-done and appears to be okay. After the repairs no follow up calls, nothing from Mark or any other employee. On November 2, 2017 I emailed Mark addressing the problems and and asked for a full refund . In my opinion, based on employee statements, I believe that the windows were installed incorrectly, and as a result we are stuck with failing windows. Our original salesman Jon reached out and scheduled an inspection on November 10th 2017. He agreed that there was both an install and window problem, he re-ordered 5 of the 11 windows to be replaced, and told me that the others would be caulked with silicone? caulk that would not split of crack, the only downside would be that we could not paint the caulk. He also added that he would make sure we get some money back, no set dollar amount, but both my wife and I heard him promise that. He also promised to have Victor return to paint all of our trim and repair the damaged trim from the multiple installs. On December 22nd 2017 the new new! windows were installed and the old caulk removed and replaced. Their solution to some of the cracked vinyl was to simply put strips of white primer painted wood over it to hide it. So our front bay windows, that consumed almost $3000.00 of the cost have dis colored wood strips glued to the vinyl. A few weeks later Victor stopped by to paint the trim, well kinda paint the trim. He said that he was only allowed to paint the trim that they installed, so now we have our original white trim, and the one coat primer painted trim, lovely. As you can imagine a few weeks went by with no refund as promised, another phone call and another email and we received a check for $250. A whopping 2.6% refund. I emailed Mark, again and explained my frustration and that the multiple return visits, installs, re-installs, etc had now cost my wife and I about $900 in lost wages in taking the 3 additional days off of work for them to fix things. Mark responded and compared new windows to buying a new car, that these things need service and that my time for that service is not typically reimbursed. I replied that car manuals spell out maintenance and that if Jon or the provided brochure would have said that it would take multiple attempts to install the product we would have gone with another company. Mark offered a $500 refund, that was on March 18th 2018, of course he never sent the check. I again reached out to Mark on April 3rd 2018 , and he replied that he was leaving the refund in my court, but that he would get a check in the mail. I decided to re-inspect all of the handy work and installs, yup more cracked caulk both interior and exterior, and the kicker.. we had to buy a portable heater for my daughters room because it gets so cold after we had our new, super duper, energy saver windows installed by Scientific Home Services. The interior installed wood to cover the cracked vinyl, split, dis-colored with caulk or glue stains along the side. I emailed both Jon and Mark on April 6th 2018, along with another dozen or so pictures, again asking for a refund and offering to return these widows once we have them replaced... here I sit April 13th 2018 not a word from either of them. I've attached as many photos as allowed, there are many many more. Please don't use this company, they promise service but deliver problems.

Everything went smoothly. There was a delay from the initial estimate I was given, but when I called hey followed up quickly and expalined the delay. The sales and installation guys were all prompt and professional. Good customer service and good quality. I will use them again.

It went beautifully!!! Jon and Mark were very responsive to all questions. There was no pressure applied when talking to them initially; they came out, measured windows, and gave us quote. Their price for all work was extremely reasonable. The installers were really hard workers, prompt, and did an excellent job. I would definitely recommend Scientific Home Services for anyone interested in window/door replacement.

The craftsman who performed the removal of the old window and the replacement of the new was great. He was very professional and and efficient in his work. His attentional to detail was clear and unrushed. I couldn't have been more pleased.
