Working with Scientific Home Services was great. From getting a quote, to scheduling, to having the work down everything was efficient and professional. Their quote was competitive, and after 3 months their product is great! I can tell I have better insulation, and the windows look great! The work was done quickly, and they cleaned up after themselves. I didn't have to do anything. Thanks! I will definitely be using them again!

Everything went well. For both jobs, the workers were on time and courteous. The craftsmanship ship of the work from the caulking to the aluminum trim exceeded my expectations. The quality of the window is that of a name brand like Anderson but half the cost.

I had a very good experience from beginning to end with Scientific Home Services. From Jon who came to my home to discuss windows, Mark in the office who set up install date, the install crew was exceptional. Installed 13 windows in one day. Very respectful of home and cleaned up well after install. Very happy with my experience. Love the windows. Would highly recommend.

Very Well. Cost was good, quality and professionalism was great. Punctual to do the work and complete cleanup after the job. Four very old windows and frames had to be replaced. Overall very satisfied with the work.

We contacted Scientific Window and they sent a worker to measure for the window. It was to take 4-6 weeks. When the window was received the installation was scheduled promptly. the installers were right on time and did a great job of installing the window. We are very happy with the results and would use them again if needed.

Jon was very congenial in listening to what we were looking for. We live in an older home and were able to save our existing interior window frame (others told me it was not possible). Every phone call or email I sent was responded to within the day. The installation was fast and looks terrific. I thought I was going to have to go back and do some touch up painting but it looks great. I am very pleased.

Extremely glad we chose Scientific Home Services for vinyl replacement windows. This was their second job at our house - we first replaced 3 attic windows because I wanted to see how the windows would look/perform. I was nervous about choosing vinyl because we have a 70+ year old house (traditional style) and were replacing the original wood windows. I immediately thought they looked great so we proceeded with this job. They look great and the entire installation was done in 2 days.

Excellent. I received bids from 5 different installers on 5 different manufacturers' patio doors. I selected Scientific Home Services to install the Kingsroyal by Softlite. The salesman that visited was knowledgeable about the product and kept the sales pitch to a minimum, just focusing on answering my questions and providing a quote. This could not be said for many of the other bidders. The lifetime transferable warranty for both parts and labor set this door and installation company apart from most of the competition. Scientific gave me the lowest price for what looks to be a quality door and their installation was professional. They fully met expectations.

Everyone I dealt with was polite, punctual, and professional. An error occurred because half-screens were installed when I had ordered full screens. The full screens were ordered immediately and have already been installed. I was asked if I wanted to keep the half screens. When I said that I didn't want them, they were taken away with all of the other trash. I was not billed for the final installment of 60% until the mistake was corrected. Great company!

The install was done well. All debris was cleaned up and taken away. Very professional. I would highly recommend them for your windows and doors. They have replaced all our windows in our home and our patio door as well as front door.

Everything was amazing from start to finish! Mark was extremely helpful in guiding us to only replace what was necessary instead of selling us to replace every door and window in our house, which is where we were leaning. His install crew was very professional and courteous, showed up on-time, worked hard, were pleasant in explaining things throughout the install and cleaned up after they finished. We would highly recommend them and will absolutely use them again in the future!

Great service from start to finish. We have a traditional home from the 1940s and need to replace all the windows. While I was sold on the Imperial LS from a cost/efficiency standpoint, I was still hesitant to replace the original wood windows with vinyl due to esthetics. Throughout my decision process, Jon was extremely knowledgeable and practical, no high pressure sales tactics. I went to the showroom to see the windows, and he recommended I take a look at other houses in the area where they've done similar installs to see the windows "in action". I opted to replace the third floor windows first (most urgent need) to confirm we'd like them, which we do. Installation was seamless, hardly knew the team was there. We can feel a huge difference - no more drafts. Now I have to place an order for the rest of the house!

We replaced 7 windows and a patio door. Sales was knowledgeable, informative, and low pressure. The installation team was fast, efficient and friendly. We are all around very pleased with the product and service. Would definitely recommend.

Mark and Jon were great from start to finish. Their professionalism was superb. I would recommend them to anyone looking to get their windows replaced. The whole process was smooth and installation only took a day. The crew was in by 8, done by 3 with everything cleaned up and packed away.

I cannot say enough positive things about this company. I have an old house and 2 large windows needed to be replaced. I was very concerned about them matching the windows in the rest of the house. When Jon [the salesperson] came to my home he immediately recognized that the integrity of the home and the look of the windows were just as important to me as making sure I had quality windows. I was very worried we would not be able to replace older, wood windows with something as high a quality and with the look I needed, but he wasn't phased and had the perfect options for me. One of our windows was completely off the track and air was coming in. He had another guy come back the next day to seal it up for us while we waited for our new windows. We also had a storm door we disliked and he showed us an option that was affordable and took care of our issues with the previous storm door, again making sure our 100+ year old front door was not impacted, and in fact, highlighted. I am so glad I called them. I needed a company that understood and respected the older home we love so much. I also asked him about our back door and he did not think we should get a storm door there. I appreciated his honesty and that he didn't just want to make another sale. Overall we ordered 2 large windows and a storm door. In terms of the installation, that also went perfectly. First of all, our order was estimated to take 6-8 weeks [all custom orders] and we got the call on the 6 week end of the spectrum. Damian was our installer. He came with 1 other guy in the snow and did a great job. They were neat and clean-- I think my floors were cleaner when they left than when they came. They came on time and worked efficiently and effectively taking care to not get in our way on a busy Saturday morning, even though they were working in our 2 front rooms and our front door. Damian made sure to show me exactly how everything worked before he left and made sure I had his cell phone just in case there were some problems or concerns. He lives close and said it would be easy to run over anytime. Overall I would highly recommend Scientific Home Services for all sides of the transaction, especially if you have an older home. I am sure I will need more windows at some point and I will not even look for another company.

My 23 year old builders grade windows where in very bad shape. I researched for a whole year . Readings hundred of reviews (Yelp, Angie , Checkbook etc ) . I researched window manufacturers and Softlite Imperial Low E Argon Gas windows got excellent reviews. I got three estimates . Jon low key , no pressure approach was the opposite of one salesman who showed us a heat lamp test , gave us a estimate and kept on lowering because we would not sign a contract right now. I am so glad I found Scientific to install our windows and its because of your reviews . I want to pass it forward . Jay and crew where professional , courteous and excellent craftsman . Jay found a rotted wood board while removing the windows and replaced it . All the windows where perfectly installed. Today is July 13 and its 90 degrees in Mundelein. We can tell a big energy saving with these Low E windows blocking the west Sun . I recommend them to my neighbors Thanks Ken and Bonnie Mundelein Illinois

My only complaint is that the work crew left some scuffs on our hardwood floor.

They made getting new windows completely painless. From the no pressure quote to the friendly, professional, and very clean installation crew, it was a pleasant experience. My screen door was missing when they put my patio door on, but it was found and installed quickly after the original installation.

Mark and his team are a professional group who take the time to communicate with the customer at all phases of the job. The installers were on time, efficient, and friendly. I also liked that Scientific did not attempt to sub the job out to local contractors in this area to save on costs (they are not close by). Our town is in the sticks and other companies have done this before; the quality almost always suffers when local contractors are used). The one concern I had was the quality of the product, which is made by Soft-Lite glass company. This was a vinyl frame door so I expected some minor imperfections (vinyl can bend or warp slightly depending on temperature and other factors). For it is sure better than the original builder's door, but the vinyl fit and finish around the glass was good in some areas, poor in others. From my experience installing windows into vinyl framing I believe the glass in the sliding door portion was not precisely aligned and/or leveled when mounted to the vinyl framing (at the factory), and the vinyl trim on the outside of the door was not cut properly in spots. According to Scientific these tolerance issues amount to cosmetic flaws that won't impact the door's ability to insulate (and I take them at their word — so far through the first tough winter the door has not shown signs of a failed seal). But the bottom line is we paid close to $3,500 for a door that has some visible workmanship issues and that is unfortunate. That said I have no doubt Scientific will stand behind the product and take care of things, should problems arise with the seals or operation of the door later. Hopefully these things will be remain non-issues. To summarize: if you go with Scientific, depending on your situation (staying in the house vs. selling) you may want to consider a pricier investment in a high quality wood frame door, to avoid vinyl frame manufacturing concerns. They sell several brands so you'd have a range of choices. Put another way, it's possible that *any* vinyl frame patio door you get in 2019, will have some minor tolerance or manufacturing glitches because they're simply not made to exacting tolerances as they may have been in the past.

From start to finish, I could not be more pleased with my windows and my experience with Scientific Home Services. They are very knowledgeable, professional and they have reasonable prices on quality windows. I have already recommended them to a neighbor!

I would highly recommend ordering your new windows from this company. Jon and Mark were great to work with. I filled out the form on their website to get a quote, got a call from Jon first thing the next morning since I filled it out after business hours. Jon came out to measure and give us a quote, he was extremely professional, measured our windows, and sat down and wrote out a quote on the spot. He gave us a written quote before leaving our house. After getting several quotes and researching firms we decided to go with Scientific Home Services. Jon was incredibly responsive in getting us the formal proposal to sign and getting the process started. They came out and re-measured, and told us it would be 7 weeks lead time. Just shy of 7 weeks I got an email from Mark to give us a time frame to install the windows. He told me he would call the next week to confirm the date, he called when he said he would. When there was an issue with the permit timing from the Village he kept me informed of what was going on and we were able to resolve it without affecting the schedule. Their installation crew showed up on time and were fantastic, they were incredibly professional, took their time and truly paid attention to detail. They covered our things where they were working, and were extremely efficient in the installation. They told us it would take 2 days to install our windows and they finished in 2 days. We are extremely happy with our new windows, they are such and improvement over the 30 rotten windows we had. I'd highly recommend working with Jon and Mark.
