I'm posting this because several calls to Barbara has left this problem unsolved. I think this is my last resort to fix this. I have use Barbara for several years and several cleaning ladies. I have had to reject one lady who just seemed confused. All of the women were able to do an acceptable job and be done by 11am. The current lady is the first experience with taking way too long. I rated punctuality an F because the cleaning lady is late leaving. She always arrives on time. All of the cleaning ladies were great about arriving on time. Barbara and the new cleaning lady walked through the house with me. We go from room to room where Barbara asks a lot of questions and writes nothing down. Result, the first time the cleaning lady does things partially correct. Two weeks later, it is like she never got any instructions at all. I end up writing down her instructions for her. My instructions contain a few important points: empty garbage in bathroom cabinet, scrub shower walls to eliminate very mild mold and please leave by 11:30 so I can go to work. Mostly, the instructions are things she doesn't have to do: do not do laundry, do not empty dishwasher, do not wash dishes. I do all of that in the morning while she cleans. Both the first and second time she cleaned, she didn't stop until 2pm. I called Barbara to complain, and of course, Barbara treats me like I am stupid. She can't understand why leaving for work is more important than more cleaning. I have spoken to Barbara about this cleaning lady on 2 separate occasions. It's never pleasant, I'm always left to feel like I am a problem. Based on her finishing up at 12:30 today, she still has a way to go. And speaking of go, I need to get to work or I will have to fire myself.
Description of Work: Light house cleaning for two people living in a 3000sq ft 3.5 bathroom home. Cleaned every 2 weeks. The house cleaner does not do any laundry or dishes. Clean bathrooms, kitchen, floors, dust, clean surfaces and make 1 bed. Start at 7am and be finished by 11:30, so I can leave for work.

This is a first time when I received complaint that we stay too long to do our job. When we had a phone conversation, I told you that each cleaning lady has a different speed of work so this is why I never put a time frame for them and not charge you by the hour. You try to put a time limit for cleaning your house (3000sq.f on 3 levels in 4.5 hrs.) based on what??? I expressed my opinion before – speeding up will cost the quality of the job. Current cleaning person needs 5.5 hrs. to do a good job without taking any breaks. Your requirements are lowering her quality of the job and cause her unnecessary stress. We don’t want you to have conflict with your job schedule, but also you have to understand that we need more time to do our job. We are trying to do our best and willing to work with you on this matter, but the time in this case is a problem, which seems you do not understand.

I cannot say enough about this company. I needed a cleaning in a hurry and wanted to set up a regular cleaning also - I called Barbara last night and she was able to accommodate me today!! Talk about service! The young lady who came this today with Barbara was excellent. Barbara walked through my house with me and the young lady, I discussed my expectations and she told me the services they provide. It was such a pleasant experience and I don't think my house has ever been this clean - and I am one of those people who thinks only I can clean my house to my expectations - boy was I wrong! She even cleaned the inside of my refrigerator and offered to change and wash sheets if I needed them to. I feel terrible because I do not know if the young lady's name was Alexis or Alexa but either way I can't wait for her to come back!! It was worth every penny - thank you, thank you, thank you!! I have hired other cleaning companies - one always broke things and charged extra to do every little thing. I had another company come and do a deep clean after a basement remodel and they were rushing through and charged by the hour. Barbara and her company charge a flat rate and they take their time cleaning, she was not in any rush which was nice.

Dolores has been coming for about a month now and I am very satisfied with her work. She is very conscientious and particular in her role. She's wonderful.
Description of Work: I had spent a long time searching for a reliable cleaning service. I met with Barbara and she and I walked through the house and discussed what I wanted done and how often. Dolores came the following Friday and did a wonderful job. There are some areas of a house that do not need to be cleaned on a regular basis. Dolores chooses one particular item each week (along with the rest of the house) and makes sure it shines. Every week I am pleasantly surprised by the work she does. She arrives on time and is on the move the moment she comes in. She does the laundry, folds everything neatly and stacks it on our bed. She washes the wooden floors and the bathrooms look amazing. We have two dogs although you would never know it. Nothing has been broken or misplaced. If you are in need of someone to clean you house due to a busy schedule, please give Barbara a call and you won't be disappointed.

I hired Major Cleaning Professionals because I needed someone to clean my house every two weeks. Before I hired Major Cleaning, I had a couple who had cleaned my house for more than 10 years. It took me a long time to decide to try someone new, but I am so happy I did! I originally had Major Cleaning come in to do a deep cleaning after having painting and construction done in my house in the fall. I thought this was a good way to try out a new service. I was so pleased with the deep cleaning, I decided to hire the company to do my bi-weekly cleaning. Barbara, the owner was very thorough in reviewing my home and needs, and she paired me with Maria S. who is wonderful! Maria has been cleaning my house now for about 4 months and I couldn't be happier! She is always on time, does a fantastic job, very detailed. She cleans so much better than the people I had before. I had a mineral deposit in a small spot in my shower that my previous cleaning folks never removed. After the first visit from Maria, it was gone! She puts a lot of "elbow grease" in the cleaning she does. And, to make things even better, Maria is so nice, a very sweet lady, and thoroughly trustworthy. Barbara showed up the following Thursday with the girl who planned to clean. She immediately reviewed our supplies and rudely scolded me for not having bought a swiffer as she had requested in order to clean our floors.As a bit of background, I had an 11 day old baby and we tried to be sure we had all of the supplies but she was correct, we did not have a chance to get a swiffer.We did have a dyson with a hardwood floor setting, a broom, rags, etc.However, she then rudely said she would not be responsible for any damage the vacuum would do to the hardwood floors and truly made me feel like a horrible person that I did not buy a swiffer. She acted as if it was impossible to clean our home without a swiffer.I then let her know I did not appreciate being spoken to so rudely and that she should discuss with the cleaning lady she had brought whether she still wanted to stay and clean without a swiffer and left them to discuss it.About 5 minutes passed and she came upstairs to tell me they were going to leave because we did not have the supplies. All of this because we did not have a swiffer. Based on the other reviews, I am sure that Barbara will respond - but I can assure you that this was one of the worst and rudest professionals I have encountered. I saw another post recently describing a similar situation and I would just caution anyone to know what they're getting into hiring Barbara or this company. My husband and I would have been happy to pay them to clean - even without a swiffer - and so it is hard for me to believe that they could not clean any of our single family just because of this.I could go on and on as this was actually a pretty upsetting experience based on how rudely I was treated. But I'll stop here and let others make up their mind based on their own experience.
Description of Work: I have never given out a review like this on Angie's List before. However, I have never had such a horrible experience with someone and feel it's important to share this. I called to find a new cleaning service for our single family home. Barbara came over the same day, looked at our house and gave us an estimate. She also provided a list of cleaning supplies she wanted us to have in order to clean. I made a cleaning appt for the following Thursday.

I was expecting your review as well and I strongly state that you treated us rude. That was not a problem with a swiffer, that was also no cleaning supplies even one single item which I gave you on the list. I was in your house a week before so you had a week to buy the cleaning supplies not only a swiffer as you try to say.You could call me before to let us know that you did not have a time to buy, so we could do some arrangements: reschedule the cleaning or simply buy them for you, but you choose to waste our time. Your lock of responsibility put us in the situation impossible to work, besides treating us as a piece of garbage who came to your house and was requesting from you something which was not important to you. After coming on time as schedule, we had to wait 20 minutes for you just to hear in very unpleasant tone that we can clean (with nothing) or leave. As you try to ruin our reputation for which we work hard for so many years I want to say something for people like you: cleaning person is a human being, we are people and expecting to be treated like any other who come to your house to give you service, we are not slaves we do not begged you for free money, we working hard, but we can’t put our head down each time when we are in the situation like in your house where we also hear f* words said behind our back. Is that because our English is not so fluent like yours, so you can waste my time for appointment and later day of work, which ended without any payment from your side? Is your boss doing the same things to you? I do not think so. Thanks to Angie’s List we have a chances to put our side of the story and protect our hardly earn reputation in business. I wish Angie’s List will make this and similar responses available to different services to make them aware of behavior of potential clients.

Pros: Very punctual; owner Barbara seemed to know her stuff about cleaning Cons: Bit pricey and customer service is definitely not the guiding principle (highly offended by our last conversation) Hired Major Professional Cleaners to clean our single family home prior to moving in and clean our condo after we moved out to get it ready to be shown for sale. The home was done first and we chose the service based on Angies list reviews and Barbara?s quick response time to my call. Cost was $350 which seemed high for main floor and upper floor of a standard bungalow with no furniture but we wanted it done ASAP so we did not bother to get additional quotes. Cleaning went smoothly. So far so good. She charged $185 to clean our 2 bed/2bath condo. She commented to my husband that she had to wait 2 times for him which he felt wasn?t a fair but he didn?t reply. The first time he did forget the house keys and had to drive back into the city to get them and drive back to the suburbs which obviously was an inconvenience to Barbara and her staff (and him) but it was an honest mistake. The second time however, Barbara had been instructed and agreed to let herself into the condo via a key in the lockbox but she was unable to open the lock box to get the key. Therefore, when she called to say she couldn?t get in my husband had to drive back into the city to let her and her staff in. This is when she reprimanded him about making her wait 2 times. Every other contractor before her had no problem opening the lockbox. I was able to open the lock box with no problem and I am not a gadget person. After the condo cleaning, my husband did a cursory check of things which looked fine to him so he paid and left . So far so good. At this point I even called to schedule biweekly cleanings for our new home. About a week later we were nearby the condo so while my kids were asleep in the car, my husband had me go in to see how nice the redone floors and painted walls looked. When I went into the second bathroom I saw that our 2 lamps and some other bathroom items were in the tub which I thought odd. When I looked closer I saw there was some water in the tub. I immediately drained the tub ?the drain was closed and I went back to the car to tell my husband. He then went in, dried the nonelectrical items, and threw out the 2 lamps since the electrical cords had been in water and wasn?t going to chance plugging them in and getting an electrical shock. There was a round rust stain from the table lamp (the other was a stand lamp and did not leave a mark). When we got home I called Barbara. She did immediately respond. She said her staff would not make such a novice mistake and we must have a leak. I assured her we did not have a leak and all that I knew was the staff was the last to use the bathtub and the last to be in our condo so I could only conclude they accidentally left some water in the tub by leaving the drain closed. We had left the lamps in the bathroom floor (non wood floor) so as not to cause problems for the guys redoing the wood floors, and I do not know for sure but assume the painters who came next put them in the tub in order to avoid paint splatter. Barbara?s staff did agree they put back the lamps in the tub since that is how they found them. Barbara agreed to meet me at the condo two days later . When I met Barbara at the condo, she was able to get the stain out-I was thrilled with that and then also asked about reimbursement for the lamps we tossed because the cords had been in water. She said no she would not take responsibility for that. I did not argue since I was happy enough to have the stain out and that no permanent damage was caused. She then proceeded to say why it wasn?t her company?s fault and that she trusts her staff and does not trust my version of what happened. She then said she did not believe there was any water in the tub. And she was as adamant about that as she was originally that there was a leak in the tub. I pointed out that I was the one to find the water so that was not in question. While she then did not outright call me a liar as she pointed out (true) she did seem confident that I was not truthful-isn?t that the same thing? Having your integrity questioned is a big deal to me and a new experience ?the implication caught me totally off guard. Barbara asked why was there no stain from a second lamp which was because the second one was a tall stand type made of plastic, not the same table top metal version that rusted. Barbara looked at another item that had been in the tub and concluded it could not have been wet or it would have also rusted and the sticker would have come off. She kept going on and I was just shocked at this point- one I hadn?t argued about the reimbursement yet she continued to deny her staff's fault and question my integrity. I do not know what her theory was-did she think we purposely damaged our condo that we were trying to sell in order to get her to pay for two Target lamps? I found it infuriating that she continued her speech against me given again I hadn't argued with her other then to say that we obviously both felt confident in our justification and had to agree to disagree. I was so frustrated that in tears I finally asked her to leave rather than continue to have her insult me. I have never asked someone to leave my home before and never written a negative review on Angies list before. Comments to provider's response: You made several comments that are both incorrect and misleading but it is clear from your response you do not understand why I was upset. Hence other customers can expect a similar attitude should an issue arise. It has nothing to do with not getting money reimbursed for lamps like you write and everything to do with the bullying attitude that you displayed. I have never had this type of interaction with a company I hired, which is not a surprise, given that it is directly counterintuitive to maintaining customer relations. Had you simply said no to the reimbursement and stated your reason briefly and/or politely, I may have considered using your services again since I did not give a poor review for quality of services. Instead, although I did not argue, you continued to berate me and in essence call me a liar, all while my young children were in the condo with me. I asked you to leave not to prove I was right as you wrote but to get you to stop insulting me. I found the interaction unprofessional and frankly shocking.

Dear Member, Your report is mostly correct with only exemption to the interpretation of facts. Price is always negotiable. The $535 (both condo and house)was our price for the service, all the cleaning supplies and vacuum cleaner for what you agree without any negotiations. I would like to point out that the house was after construction and a condo after move-out and never professionally clean before. I do not want to make a list of things which were done for that price. As you mentioned we were the only service which responded for your request, answered all your questions regarding the cleaning and was willing to come on Sunday to perform the work. Going back to beginning, I had appointment with your husband to see your new house on Sat. Aug. 6.2011 at 1:00 p.m. Without any information that he can be late, after 10 minutes of waiting I called you and find out that your husband is just around the corner filling gasoline and will be late few minutes. Whole thing took approximately about 30 minutes. Than we came to work on Sunday, he was late again. When he show up, he did not have keys with him. It took about 1 hr to get them (he had to drive to North side of Chicago and back to Oak Park). Yes, I had problem to open your lockbox or the code was not correct. This time your husband was willing to come and help if we will wait one hour. On that day it was not possible because we had other arrangements and we had to push your job to Sunday again. As you noted for any lost of time on our side we did not charge you anything or lowered quality of our service. In my opinion it is a lock of professionalism and respect when people are late on appointments without any notice. As you recall your biggest concern was rust circle in your bathtub. Based on my investigation and experience it was possibly caused by the base of the lamp being dumped or put back inside fresh washed tub (note: all the items were in that bathtub before). Circle was smaller than the base of the lamp and all other items were dry and untouched by the water , for example price sticker on the bottom of toilet paper holder, so it exclude any water in the bathtub. However you try to prove that all items were soaked in the water for one week. It is simply unrealistic. We took full responsibility for rusted ring, we cleaned the bathtub as soon as you found out. You do not complain about the quality of the job, because it was very good and your husband gratitude the ladies giving them $50 tip. The real story is that you want reimbursement for two lamps that as you stated were damaged and you throw them out. How you expected me to pay for something, which you stated was damaged, but you can not prove, because there is no evidence. I am in this business over 10 years and if anything was damaged by us and was prove of our responsibility ,was paid without any problems. We don’t have any hard fillings that you throw us from your condo. That was your way of prove who was right. I’m sorry for your emotional brake down. Hopefully it will fade away. .I have a four bedroom two bath house with lots of cabinets in my kitchen. I wanted all my cabinets washed and degreased as well as the appliances in my kitchen. She did a great job as well as scrubbing my kitchen floor. She cleaned every corner in every room. She cleaned the exhaust fans in the bathrooms. Not a speck of dirt got away from her. I've never seen anyone work as hard as she did. To top it all off she is a very pleasant and warm person. All in all I am very satisfied with this service.
Description of Work: This was the second time I had this service. I wanted to wait to report so that I could compare the first (a very thorough cleaning) and the second (just as good). The owner came out to see my house and I showed her what I wanted done and we talked about price and supplies (you provide from a list of common cleaners most of which I already had). She said she had the perfect lady for me and we set a date for my first cleaning. I questioned the fact that only one person was going to clean my whole house with everything I wanted done in one day. She said don't worry she can do it. Cleaning day came and the owner came in with my helper for the day. She took her around to each room and explained to her what I wanted done. She speaks Polish and I was concerned that we would have a language problem but we did just fine. This little lady worked so hard all day long and finished everything I asked for and more. I was very pleased with the results and arranged to have her clean my house once a month.

The owner of Major Cleaning came to the house on a Tuesday night to review what we needed and what supplies would be required. She came with the cleaning person the next day, Wednesday< and reviewed with her the tasks, in Polish. they came at 8 AM- our request. She cleaned until she was done= 2:30 PM. She now has key and comes every Wednesday by herself. the owner is available for questiions or issues. We are very pleased with the services.
Description of Work: Vacuumin, dusting, bathroom cleaning, kitchen cleaning, mopping floors.

I found Major Cleaning Professionals on Angie's List and put in a request for an estimate. Barbara emailed me back right away to set up a time to look at our condo. I was also deathly sick at the time and our place looked worse than usual, but she was very professional and took it in stride. She gave us what I considered a fair estimate for a monthly cleaning and we set up our first service appointment. We also had to supply our own cleaning supplies, but 80% of it is what I normally buy anyway (swiffer pads, pledge, etc), so it was not a big deal to have those items on hand. The first cleaning went well. The only thing she didn't do was clean the ceiling fans, but I figured it was because we didn't turn them off (we have switches on the walls instead of chains). When Barbara called the schedule the next cleaning, she mentioned it was actually because our maid is short she couldn't reach them safely, so we supplied a step-stool the second time and the fans were all clean. As for the cleaning itself - very well done. The floors especially are very clean - the cleaning lady gets down on her hands and knees and I know a lot of other maid services don't do that. I look forward now to our monthly cleaning.

Barbara at Major Cleaning was prompt and very responsive to all my cleaning requests. I had no communication issues dealing with her or the regular cleaning professional she assigned to do my bi-weekly cleaning. I'm very pleased with the work that they do. Barbara's cleaning staff is top rated in all aspects.
Description of Work: When I hurt my back this past winter, I was in search of a good cleaning professional who was able to do some maintenance cleaning in the bathroom and kitchen. I left messages for several cleaning companies from Angie's list. Barbara was one of two who responded and arranged for a date to provide a quote. Of the two cleaning companies, Barbara provided a more reasonable quote for a bi-weekly cleaning, focusing on different part of the house everytime they came. In the first cleaning, Barbara came with the lady who will be doing the cleaning every other week. She went through in details exactly what needed to be done according to my requests (she spoke Polish with her) However, Barbara spoke perfect English. After the second, third times that the lady came to clean my house, I quickly realized that this was a company that I could trust to do a great cleaning job. Barbara at Major Cleaning was prompt and very responsive to all my cleaning requests. I had no communication issues dealing with her or the regular cleaning professional she assigned to do my bi-weekly cleaning. I'm very pleased with the work that they do. Barbara's cleaning staff is top rated in all aspects.

I resisted getting a cleaning company for a long time b/c I felt odd about it. Like who am I to have a cleaning person? But I also really hate spending the little free time I have on nights and weekends cleaning. And with 2 dogs, my place can get dirty pretty quickly. I emailed several companies from Angies List regarding cleaning. Barbara was the only one who replied right away - like within the hour. Some other companies took a week or more to get back to me. She quickly answered all of my questions and b/c of the ease & reliability of communication with her (I prefer email) we set up an appt for her to give me an estimate. Her estimate was fair and reasonable so we set up a deep cleaning for a few days later. Barbara accompanied the woman doing the deep cleaning and told her what needed to be done. She spoke Polish but I didn't have a problem talking with her or answering her questions. I left to go to work with the instructions for the woman to just lock the door when she left. I came home and was very pleased with the cleaning. The woman even emptied my dishwasher and cleaned some pots I forgot that I had left in the sink. I didn't ask her to do this and it wouldn't have even occurred to me that she would to this - so it was a nice surprise. Barbara followed up with me via email the next day to ask how things went. I liked her attentiveness and follow up so I set up a schedule to start regular cleaning on a 2 week basis. This week was the first of my regular cleaning and I'm very happy. Barbara accompanied a new woman who will be my regular cleaning person. She speaks Polish also - but again no communication issues. Everything that I expected to clean was done well. She did a great job and even made my bed (something i didnt expect :) I feel the prices are very fair and reasonable for the quality of work I get. I'm happy I found this company on Angie's List. For pet owners - I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. I send my dogs to their daycare place on cleaning days just to make things easier for the cleaning person. Its hard to mop hwfls clean when there are dogs running around. My cats just chill in their hiding places.
Description of Work: First service was a deep cleaning of my condo. This included cleaning baseboards, blinds, mopping hwfls, vacuuming area rugs & furniture, dusting all surfaces, cleaning 2 bathrooms, kitchen and deep cleaning all appliances (oven, fridge, etc). Subsequent (regular) cleaning includes mopping, vaccuming, dusting, bathrooms, kitchen/appliances. Slightly scaled back from the deep cleaning, but still very thorough.

I researched a couple other cleaning services and chose Major Cleaning Professional Services based on the ease of communication, quick response and easy-to-understand pricing model. I live in a small, one bedroom condo that I generally keep very tidy, but I am terrible when it comes to remembering to dust and vacuum, and I can never seem to find the time for a good scrubbing. When I spoke with Barbara, the owner, she was very professional and patient as I bumbled my way through what I was looking for. Initially, I only wanted my floors mopped and bathroom cleaned, but after she explained that the cost would be the same as for a full cleaning I agreed that it made sense to have the whole place cleaned. When I spoke with other agencies, they said the same thing, but the major point of difference was that they wanted to charge an hourly rate, whereas Barbara's staff charges a flat rate and cleans "until the job is done." It just didn't make sense at that point to have another company come in, charge me a minimum of $89 and leave based on a clock instead of the level of cleanliness. Barbara came to my place for a walk-through and provided an estimate of $70 for a full cleaning. She went over what I could expect them to clean and said that if I wanted anything added, changed or done differently I would just need to let them know. She also provided a list of items I needed to have and let me choose who I wanted to clean my condo based on the date I picked for the cleaning. Ewa, the woman who cleaned my place, came out on Friday morning before I left for work to introduce herself and pick up keys to my unit. Based on my prior contact with Barbara and pleasant introduction with Ewa, I felt comfortable not being present at the first cleaning. When I returned home, I was very impressed with Ewa's cleaning and would definitely recommend Major Professional Cleaning Services to a friend. That said, I would also advise anyone considering a housekeeper to consider the following: Have a list of items you have in mind for cleaning and discuss them at your consultation. I'm sure the tasks that are performed vary not only by company but by cleaning person as well, so it's important to address what you want done (and anything that's off limits). Be specific about the costs and what you're getting for it. During my consultation I had made a note that the cost for the complete cleaning would be $65 per visit, plus an additional $5 for the windows since they weren't generally included. I made this same note on my check. Barbara had to clarify on a phone call after the fact that my rate is actually $70 per visit, and windows would be cleaned weather permitting. A small details but important in setting expectations. Recognize there may be additional costs for supplies. I spent about $40 on specific cleaning supplies they required me to have on-hand. Don't expect things to be exactly the way they were when you left. The dishes, table decorations and shower essentials weren't in their usual spots. Maybe as we continue to work together this will change... or, maybe not.
Description of Work: Tub: this was, by far, the most heinous task. There was mold and protein build-up, which was cleaned to look like new. Mirrors Bathroom fixtures Toilet Bathroom floor (linoleum) Kitchen floor (hardwood) Stovetop vent: another gross task that was completely scrubbed clean Oven Microwave Refrigerator (inside and out) Vacuum Dust Clean windows (inside and out) Unloaded the dishwasher Washed pots and pans

Called Barbara and she helped me understand how they work and what they needed. She is extremely responsive and professional. She came to my house and assessed the challenge. Not too bad, but we were woefully behind in our cleaning. She set up a special service for the Saturday before mother's day on late notice. And did not charge extra for the first cleaning. Very helpful! They spent over 4 hours the first time with excellent results. We are now settling into a routine and very pleased with the work.

We like them a lot. I like that we have the same person every week. She is very reliable and she does a good job. I've had some others in the past that were really good but they just kind of showed up when they wanted which didn't really work out. She is very thorough and does special projects when I need help. She is easy to communicate with and she is very helpful. I?ve already paid her for the next three weeks.

We are so happy with the service from Major Cleaning Professionals. We chose them based on referrals in Angie's List. From the first phone call, we've been satisfied. Barbara, the owner, set a time to meet us, walk through our two-story condo, ask about our expectations, and tell us about her company. She assigned Elizabeth to work with us. The first cleaning was a thorough "deep cleaning", and cost more. After that, Elizabeth has come every two weeks. We have a dog and a cat, and it's amazing how quickly two busy professionals can mess up a home. We pick up after ourselves, but to have someone else really clean all the surfaces every two weeks makes life so much easier. I love coming back to a beautiful, clean home every other Monday, and the price is very reasonable. Because Elizabeth is Polish and speaks very little English, we mostly communicate through Barbara, which is fine. Barbara always responds quickly, whether by phone or email. We can tell she is committed to providing a quality service and takes personal responsibility for the work of her employees. Last week I emailed Barbara to ask Elizabeth to clean the oven at her next visit. For an additional cost of $10, the oven is *sparkling*. We provide all the cleaning supplies, and Elizabeth lets us know when she needs supplies replenished. At the first visit, Barbara made suggestions about cleaning products that she finds most effective, and I was grateful for the advice! I am glad to support this business, and will happily refer friends to Major Cleaning Professionals.

I would love to be able to use Barbara's service in the future.
Description of Work: though we will not be using this company because it is out of our budget, I wanted Angie's list to know how honestly we were treated by Barbara. We are looking for a new commerical cleaner* for our office. We know that we are paying a very low fee right now, but the service is in the area. Barbara's service could provide an excellent service to someone in the Chicago area (we are in Northbrook, and out of her service area). Due to the difference in geography, the cost that would need to be added for transportation would put her service out of our budget. However, Barbara did a COMPLETE survey of our property, and was honest about what we needed to look for in the future. If our budget allows, I wuold call her again for an estimate (and hope that she has gained other cients in the northwest suburbs by then!) We have been using Angie's list for a long time, and I would love to see COMMERICAL CLEANING added as a possible search item. Many of us who use the list do so for our businesses as well as our residences. Please consider this.

Someone came out promptly to give us an estimate. She needed only a few minutes to give us a fair price. They require you to provide all cleaning supplies, so the estimator also provided me with a list of supplies we'd need (nothing outrageous). The cleaners arrived promptly. I wasn't terribly pleased that the cleaner did not speak English, but the estimator came with to explain to her what to do. The cleaner worked quietly and efficiently, cleaning even down to the baseboards. She took a bit over three hours to do a 2br/2ba apartment. We paid in cash, though she seemed to say a check was fine too (or she didn't understand what I was asking).

With more responsibilities and pressures at our jobs, my husband and I no longer felt that we had the time to enjoy our weekends and keep a tidy home at the same time. I interviewed and hired Major Cleaning Professionals for my mom's house a few years ago as a gift, and she continues to use and love them. I finally moved past my midwestern guilt issues that I should be able to maintain my own home and called Barb (the owner) to come over and give us an estimate. Although our house is small and we have no children, between the two of us and our two dogs we manage to get the house messy. Barb walked through the house with me to go over what I would like done in each room and gave what I felt to be a reasonable estimate. Eva has now cleaned our house twice in the last two months, and I'm extremely pleased and satisfied with the work. For anyone who can't decide if they should get a housecleaner, stop waiting, call Major Cleaning Professionals, and reclaim your personal time! It's worth every penny.

I needed a last minute cleaning of my house and wanted to try a company for potential bi-weekly cleaning. The owner was prompt in setting up a meeting to give me an estimate. She was able to have two people come out that week and clean my house and gave me a flat rate for a job she estimated would take 4 hours for them to complete. It actually took them 5 hours so I was very appreciative that she gave me the flat rate quote and stuck to that price. The two cleaners who came were very professional and the house looked great. They did pretty standard cleaning things such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping all the wood floors, making the beds, etc.

Very good at house cleaning. Just not professionals. While I was out one morning, cleaning lady Bozana would not enter my home, even when my houseguest opened the front door and asked if she wanted to come in. Then Bozana lied that no one let her in. I talked to Barbara, the owner, before I got home so it was before I knew that the cleaning lady had lied. Barbara said that I had to pay the cleaning lady $100 for her time, even though she had not cleaned. I might have accepted this except for two things: 1) Her employee lied - my houseguest had tried to let her in but she refused. 2) Everyone makes mistakes and has bad days; professionals understand this and make adjustments. I was flexible when Bozana needed to change a day or time for her regular cleaning; I was therefore astonished when Barbara wanted to charge me for a missed cleaning! No discussion of whether Bozana's judgment was wrong not to clean my house that day, no understanding of the long-standing relationship I had with this company (over 40 cleanings so far). Just, you must pay $100 for the missed cleaning. For these reasons, I have fired Major Cleaning Professionals.

Member, first of all I never have a pleasure to speak with you or make any business with you. This is true, we have cleaned house under this address, but my agreements and all conversation was with the member's spouse, I believe is your wife(?). I am very,very surprise how you interpreted situation,which you never was a witness.Yes,we cleaned this house for very long time and never received complain from the member's spouse.That was not the first time,when Bozena was at the door,buzzing and no-one opened the door.We understand that something can happen last minute,so one time can be accepted with no charge. Bozena was not the first time waiting for some time in front of the house,before the door was open . On May 31 she show up at 8am and wait to 8:30 am,rang the door bell many times.She also called me ,I called the home number and left message that Bozena is waiting in front of the house.There was no respond ,so she left.About 11 am I received call from member's spouses daughter with apologies,because she did not hear the buzzer.I asked her to tell the member's spouse that I am waiting for her call. After about 10-15 minutes the member's spouse called and told me that her daughter overslept and did not opened the door for Bozena. My answer was that this is not first time so we expect to be pay for lost a day of work. The member's spouses answer was that she will take the money from her daughter, because that was her fault and also asked me if Bozena can come any other day of this week, but my answer was no ,because she is booked with other clients. Finally we agree than she will come next Monday. Next Monday June 7 again she was at 8am at the door and no-one opened the door for her, but again the driveway was full of cars. I called the home number and left message asking for call to solve the problem. After that I never received any call or information about cancellation of service.That is our side of this story member. Question is who is lying here and why?????

I found them on Angie's List late last summer and emailed for a consultation. Barb replied quickly and scheduled a consult for a couple days later. She arrived on time, was thorough and professional during our walk through, asked questions about what I expected in certain areas, gave cleaning product advice (she obviously knows her stuff!), and answered all of my questions. Barb gave me a quote of $100 for once a month service or $90 for every two weeks, plus honored the advertised Angie's List coupon. I have had other cleaning services in the past that are much less expensive, but felt this was a good value to have the same people come every month and they do a MUCH better job than the cheaper service, and they do it great EVERY time. The morning of the first cleaning, Barb arrived with the two women who would be cleaning our home every month (Lucy and Ula) and did a walk through with them before leaving them to do their thing. They cleaned everything, left the home neat and tidy, put the used cleaning rags in a neat pile by the washing machine, etc. I could not be more pleased. The quality of their work has not diminished over time either. Every month, they do a top-rate job. If we could afford to have them twice a month, I most definitely would! Barb emails me reminders of our cleaning date a week or so in advance. They are professional and reliable. They even accommodated an additional cleaning one month when we needed it. If you're contemplating a cleaning service, Major Cleaning Professionals comes with my highest recommendation.
