Everything went ok with the exception of pricing. The pricing for these 3 small projects was about $1850.00. This is OUTRAGEOUS. Everytime a ladder or crawling around would be needed the costs went up. I imagine that if it were a hot day out and climbing the ladder was needed that the price would go up even more. ESG wanted $249 just to diagnose an outdoor light and then another $183.00 just to install a new light that I would have to first purchase from a store. I quickly called another electrician and was offered much better pricing. This company will never receive any business from me, any of my neighbors, or anyone else I know.
Description of Work: An electrician from ESG came out to my house to provide estimates for installation of 3 closet dome lights, an additional light installed in the back of my house and to diagnose a light switch on the west side of my home with possible installation of a new switch for this light on the west side (the original light switch was buried behind the cabinets during a kitchen remodel). The electrician was friendly and detailed and offered reasonable advice when asked.

Maciej showed up early and was very receptive to talking about the work we wanted done. He wore protective shoe covers in the house. Maciej gave us a price for services upfront and worked very quickly. He answered all our questions and explained what he was doing. He also gave us some good advice on some other work we may have done in the future. Excellent experience overall. Company mailed us a paid invoice and thank you note.

When I called, they were able to schedule the work for the next day. Javier called to let us know he was on his way, arrived on time, outlined the prices for everything clearly and explained in detail as he went or whenever I had a question. He was extremely friendly and helpful. He installed the ceiling fan using the rod from our current fan and connected the fan to the 4-speed switch on the wall, and the light on the fan directly to ceiling wiring, exactly as I'd hoped he'd be able to. The faulty light fixture's wiring ended up being the problem and he demonstrated the problem to me, plus he recommended a place we could take it to have it rewired if we wanted. He gave us a break on the pricing, and accepted the Angie's List coupon from us with no problems. This is the second time we've used this company and I'm more than happy with the quality and value of their work. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I'll definitely be going to them every time we have an electrical job!

I needed new circuits and additional work done after the condominium installed additional service to the units. The team arrived on time and completed all the work within the day. The estimate was for $1800, as they do the estimating by job, not by the hour. The actual cost turned out to be higher when they discovered my fire alarm in the MBr was out of date. They installed a new one, including a battery, which raised the cost. There was dust everywhere since they needed to punch through plaster, but they covered everything they could, which minimized the impact. I have used this company before and never had a problem getting the work done professionally and timely. I will continue to use them as the need arises.

We were quite pleased with how prompt the project went and how he cleaned up, and took us on a tour and explained exactly what he had done.
Description of Work: Install 3 GFI in maser bath,basement & kitchen. Tighten connections in panel, install wall switch and install track lighting that we had purchased. Also, disconnect pool light and twist weatherhead and modify drip loop. They came in and gave us a quote and we hired them. Prompt and professional, did all the work in about an hour. We needed to buy track lighting and dimmer switch, so they returned when we had the items in hand and finished the job. The electrician also went the extra mile and bent the track lighting for us as a decorative touch. Best of all, the quote was on the nose!

Very professional and polite. We went over the projects and he gave prices for each of them. I selected the project to be done. All done well. The problem I have is there are set fees in a book, without negotiation. The estimate to troubleshoot the kitchen light was $115. We thought there was a short in the light. It turned out he found out immediately that we had a 75 watt bulb in a 50 watt socket. The problem was fixed with the change of light bulb.... At that point, I felt there should have been an adjustment in price for that specific project, but there was none. I feel that if the co. want repeat business, prices should not be so "set". He showed me his book of prices. I don't think he had the ability to adjust the price. Andy was professional, polite and very careful with his work. I definately would have had him come out to do more work for us....

When I called, they were so nice and listened to my questions and concerns. She told me that Tom, the owner, would call me back in 15 minutes, which he did. He came out and inspected my problem. He explained what was done correctly and incorrectly by another electrician. They came back and corrected all the problems for me, bring my electrical up to code. I cannot say enough nice things about them and would recommend them highly.

They did a great job. Very professional and got the work done in two days. We would use them again and we are very satisfied with the work they did for us. The only problem was that they left the old electric box, a large heavy pipe filled with wires, along with a big box of stuff that they discarded from the work, behind the house for us to take care of. Didn't notice it until a big snow and it sat back there until the snow cleared. Could have been my misunderstanding about who discards the old stuff but it would have been nice of them to tell me that things had been left behind.
Description of Work: They replaced an old electrical box with a larger one. Rewired the wires running from the electric box to the walls. Checked each outlet to make sure it was up to code and that there were no cloth covered wires in the old part of the house. Replaced outlets that were not to code.

The entire experience was great! Everyone I dealt with, from the woman who scheduled the appointments to Tom, who gave the estimate & Javier & Andy, who did the work was extremely professional & personable. Andy & Javier explained what they were doing and explained each difficulty they encountered (it is an 80 year old house that had cloth wiring throughout). There were no additional costs, even with the unexpected issues. They arrived on time and cleaned up when finished. Also, I was able to schedule them to come in under one week from making my decision.

I called in near hysterics when an outlet sparked spectacularly and made a poofing sound. Tom, the owner, was very kind and I felt considerably calmer after hanging up, and he promised someone from his office staff would call me within a half hour after the office officially opened for the day. They did, and arranged to have an electrician out within a matter of hours. He looked at the outlet, explained the problem, quoted the fee, and quickly and neatly did the work.

great. I started losing my electricity intermittently from the Saturday after Christmas until New Years Day when Com Ed told me it was my main breaker box. I called Electric Service Group. They had someone out within a day to look at the box. It was determined due to the age of my circuit beaker box I had to have a new box installed. They were able to give me a competetive price and immediate repair date. The electricians came out on the coldest day this year and were courteous, professional and clean. Arrived at 7:15 a.m. for a 7:00 a.m. appointment. The quote originally came back very high as the technician had started to use a new quotation system. The company had followed up once they identified the problem with the quote and offered to come back to requote. I had already moved ahead with another company but would consider using them again especially in light of the professionalism and follow up I received.

On January 12th, my wife and I greeted Dave and he listened as we explained a series of things we were thinking of doing in our home that involved electrical systems. He was extremely professional and friendly and said he would put together an estimate on the probable cost of each item and a suggested discount if we decided to do them all. After that...nothing. On Saturday January 24th, I left a voice mail with Dave stating that we had yet to receive anything. A few days later he left a voice mail apologizing. Evidently our paperwork had gotten misplaced but an estimate had been sent on the 26th. After that...nothing. Needless to say, we felt that this result might be indicative of the company's overall performance and have chosen to go a different direction. Still, in their defense...my wife and I had a lot of questions and are considering a number of different repairs or upgrades. It may have been a complex estimate. Dave was great, but the response was...not great. I entered an overall grade of C on Angie's List. Within days the owner called and long story short, he personally came out and gave us his time, attention, and an estimate! A very quick recovery.

They came out and did a thorough estimate. They walked us through everything that they would do. They gave us an estimate on the time. We were comfortable with them. They would come at seven in the morning and we would let them work while we were gone. They were fantastic. They were particular about keeping an eye on my pets and making sure they didn't get out. They went above and beyond what we expected. We love all the work they've done for us. They are very professional and reasonably priced. They also keep everything clean.
Description of Work: They've done quite a bit of work for us. They rewired an apartment and basement. It was a very big job. They replaced all of the wiring outlets and several fixtures. They hung ceiling fans an brought the building up to code. They were here for two weeks.

I had an outlet in my kitchen that the developers had sealed up and I wanted to see if it could be made a live outlet again. The technician could tell right away it could be saved and revived it quickly. I then asked if he could install a chandelier that I had just bought, since he was here and he did it no problem. Very nice and professional. Worked quickly and cleaned up the dust from his work, as little as there was.

Electrician was prompt and wore covers on his shoes while in our home. Majicej (sp) was wonderful and informative. He found the problem with a switch and had to replace with efi switch in bathroom and replaced the broken outside cover in back yard. I would recommend this company and will use again. Also, took our $25 coupon for first time customers found on website.

Trying to install a light fixture on my own, I shorted out the lights in one part of my condo and wasn't able to fix it. I called ESG around 5pm on December 23 and they arrived at 7am on Christmas Eve. He found the issue in the original wiring, fixed it, and then found an issue in the fuse box (there was an issue with the fuse box when I bought the unit six months ago, so this wasn't surprising). They were very professional, clean, and respectable. We have very expensive equipment, so I was a little worried about people touching it, but they did everything very carefully. The crew was very service-oriented and outgoing, and they arrived right on time. I have hired electricians before who were cheaper on outlets, but this crew was more professional and careful. They weren't excessive, but they were slightly higher than what I have paid before.
Description of Work: They installed a few outlets for our home theater system. We wanted an outlet in the middle of the wall for the cord of an LCD TV, which hangs on the wall. They removed the screen, put the new outlet in, and put the screen back.

Made an appointment. The electrician showed up on time. Coincidentally, when he arrived, I had electricity in that portion of the house, but I explained that it goes off at random. He went down and checked the mains and suspected that the circuit breaker may be the problem. It looked kinda rusty/oxidized compared to the others. We went back up and sure enough, there was no electricity in that part of the house. He proceeded to change the breaker and I've not had that problem after a week now.

My home was built in 1948 and still had the original cloth wiring installed. Half of the house was running off of one breaker which made it difficult to use multiple appliances at once(microwave, dishwasher, dryer, etc..). ESG came to provide an estimate for replacing the cloth wiring and adding the appropriate amount of circuits to the house. We decided to use a different company whose price was lower and also did a more complete inspection of our electrical wiring during the estimate.
Description of Work: ESG provided an estimate for rewiring my home.
