THEY PROMPTLY RETURNED CALLS. THE JOB REQUIRED 2 TRIPS; 1 TO DO THE ESTIMATE AND THE OTHER TO DO THE WORK. THE ELECTRICIAN WAS PROMPT ON BOTH CALLS, POLITE, AND WORK WAS PROFESSIONALLY ACCOMPLISHED. THEY WERE SOMEWHAT PRICEY IN MY OPINION FOR 1.5 HOURS OF WORK, BUT I KNEW THE COST FROM THE OUTSET. ON LARGER JOBS I WOULD SUGGEST GETTING ESTIMATES. I WILL, HOWEVER, THEM HIRE AGAIN.
Description of Work: I HAD ONE BRANCH CIRCUIT SPLIT INTO 2 BRANCH CIRCUITS AT JUNCTION BOX, TEN FEET FROM FUSE PANEL. MEGAN WHO MADE THE APPOINTMENT FOR RICH TO COME BACK OUT A SECOND TIME WAS VERY PLEASANT. RICH AGAIN CAME OUT AND FIXED THE PROBLEM. HIS PLEASANT DISPOSITION IN A RATHER UNPLEASANT SITUATION WAS SUPERLATIVE. MEGAN WAS ALSO HELPFUL IN SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT IN THE NEXT WEEK TO DO ADDITIONAL ELECTRIC WORK OUR CONDO BOARD HAD BEEN TRYING TO GET DONE, BUT NO ONE WANTED TO HANDLE, BECAUSE IT WASN'T IN THEIR WORDS ''A BIG ENOUGH JOB''. A 1:30 APPOINTMENT WAS MADE AND SOMEONE WHO WAS FAR FROM COURTEOUS CALLED TO SAY THEY WOULD BE LATE. TWO WORKERS FINALLY SHOWED UP AROUND 5 PM. WE DESCRIBED THE PROBLEM, LIGHTS IN BACK ROOM NOT TURNING ON. WE NOTED IT MIGHT HAVE TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT WE REPLACED THE SWITCH OURSELVES A WEEK EARLIER. THEY LOOKED AT THE ELECTRICAL BOX AND POKED THROUGH THE DROP DOWN CEILING AND SAID IT WOULD COST CLOSE TO $1000. THEY WERE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. WE SENT THEM AWAY. THE NEXT DAY AN HONEST ELECTRICIAN IMMEDIATELY CHECKED THE SWITCH AND NOTED THAT WE HAD PUT A TWO-WAY DIMMER ON A 3-WAY SWITCH. HE CORRECTED THE PROBLEM FOR $142.

THIS CUSTOMER CALLED AND REQUESTED WE DISPATCH A SERVICE TECHNICIAN TO REPAIR A DEFECTIVE LIGHTING CIRCUIT IN A BANQUET ROOM. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN SCHEDULED TO GO THERE GOT DELAYED ON HIS PREVIOUS STOP. THAT TECHNICIAN NOTIFIED THE CUSTOMER HE WAS RUNNING LATE. THE CUSTOMER CALLED THE OFFICE DEMANDING IMMEDIATE SERVICE. WE PULLED A TWO MAN CREW OFF ANOTHER JOB & DISPATCHED THEM TO THE RESTAURANT. THEY LOCATED NUMEROUS WIRING PROBLEMS ABOVE THE CEILING & QUOTED AN HOURLY RATE WITH A NOT TO EXCEED $500.00, AND THE CUSTOMER REFUSED. WE DIDN’T CHARGE THEM ANYTHING AFTER DISPATCHING A TWO MAN CREW ON A FRIDAY AT 4:30 PM TO THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY.

A WRITTEN DIAGNOSIS "REPLACE PANCAKE BOX IN KITCHEN CEILING WITH 900 BOX AND RECONNECT EXISTING BOX," WAS GIVEN TO HIM, BUT HE TOLD RICH TO ONLY REPLACE THE FIXTURE AND REFUSED THE DIAGNOSTIC REPAIRS. THE MEMBER THEN HAD A CARPENTER INSTALL DRYWALL BUT THE WIRING CAUSED PROBLEMS. WE INFORMED HER THAT HER FATHER-IN-LAW MUST HAVE MISUNDERSTOOD, AND WE OFFERED A DISCOUNT TO MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS, SHE REFUSED.

I HAD THE WORK DONE AND THE FINAL PRODUCT IS FINE. THE ELECTRICIAN SAID FIRST THING, THAT HE WAS GOING TO TRY TO JIMMY THE KITCHEN LIGHT FIXTURE BECAUSE REPLACING THE PANCAKE DISC IN THE CEILING WOULD BE SO MUCH WORK. IN THE END HE HAD TO REPLACE THE PANCAKE DISC ANYWAY. I FEEL LIKE HE WAS TRYING TO AVOID DOING THE JOB CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME. IT ENDED UP COSTING MORE, TAKING MORE TIME, AND GENERALLY BEING MORE OF A HASSLE THAN IF HE HAD JUST DONE THE DIFFICULT JOB THE RIGHT WAY. A DRYWALLER CAME IN TO FIX THE CEILING AFTERWARD AND SAID HE THOUGHT THE ELECTRICIAN WAS LAZY BECAUSE OF THE WAY HE HAD STRUNG CONDUIT. I COULDN'T DISAGREE.

THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAD TO HIRE AN ELECTRICIAN. I AM VERY "COST-CONSCIOUS" AND LIKE TO GET MY MONEY'S WORTH. I WAS A BIT SURPRISED AT THE 1 1/2 HOUR MINIMUM CHARGE FOR A SERVICE CALL, AND I CHALLENGED THEM A BIT ON IT IN MY INITIAL CALL. THE WOMAN ON THE PHONE WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND SUGGESTED THAT I COULD TRY TO FIND AN HOUR AND A HALF OF WORK FOR THEM TO DO AS LONG AS THEY WERE COMING OUT AND I HAD TO PAY THEM FOR 1 1/2 HOURS ANYWAY. RICH AND HIS ASSOCIATE SHOWED UP AHEAD OF SCHEDULE AND PATIENTLY WAITED UNTIL THE MOVERS(I JUST MOVED IN) LEFT. THEY CAME IN AND WENT RIGHT TO WORK, TAKING TIME TO EXPLAIN WHAT THEY WERE DOING AND ANSWER THE MANY QUESTIONS THAT I HAD AS A NEW HOMEOWNER. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH ALL ASPECTS OF THEIR SERVICE. I MAY HAVE SOME ADDITIONAL WORK DONE IN THE COMING MONTHS AND WILL ABSOLUTELY CALL THEM TO DO IT. THANK YOU!

ESG PROVIDES PRICE QUOTES AT NO COST TO POTENTAIL CUSTOMERS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 8:00AM AND 5:00PM. THIS INDIVIDUAL WAS ONLY INTERESTED IN GETTING A QUOTE AFTER 7:00PM. I ASKED THE CUSTOMER IF HE COULD MEET THE ESTIMATOR IN THE MORNING AT 8:00AM OR IF HE COULD LEAVE WORK EARLY TO MEET THE ESTIMATOR AT 5:00PM. THE INITIAL WORK FROM ESG WAS NOT GOOD. THEY WERE 2.5 HOURS LATE WITHOUT CALLING. OUR ELECTRICIAN WAS LATE BECAUSE OUR OFFICE STAFF ACCIDENTALLY GAVE HIM THE WRONG PHONE NUMBER. AS SOON AS WE CAME TO THE OFFICE AND GOT THE MESSAGE FROM THE CUSTOMER, THE TECH WAS CONTACTED IMMEDIATELY AND WENT TO THE CUSTOMER'S HOME. WE INFORMED THE CUSTOMER THAT WE DO NOT STOCK EVERY ELECTRICAL PART BECAUSE OF MAGNITUDE. ELECTRICAL SERVICES GROUP OFFERED TO INSTALL THE FAN MOTOR AT NO CHARGE. ALSO INFORMED CUSTOMER, THE CEILING FANS INTERNAL WIRING IS USUALLY HANDLED BY MANUFACTURER'S REP, BUT ELECTRICAL SERVICES GROUP ALSO OFFERED TO TRY TO LOCATE LOOSE CONNECTION INSIDE THE FAN. ELECTRICAL SERVICES GROUP DOES NOT CHARGE FULL SERVICE CALL RATE ON RETURN VISITS WHEN ASSOCIATED WITH A PRIMARY VISIT. WE HAVE CONTRACTED THE CUSTOMER, AND WE ARE GOING BACK ON FRIDAY TO COMPLETE THE JOB AT NO CHARGE.
