I was very pleased with Electrical services. Victor arrived slightly late, but it is difficult to find parking downtown. He was very polite and thorough. He was able to provide the needed junction boxes and dimmer. I was aware of the initial and per hour charge so was not surprised at the overall cost, given the amount of work required.
Description of Work: I had removal of existing light fitting; 2 junction boxes provided and installed; installation of 2 new light fittings and a new dimmer provided and installed.

We were hired to replace existing devices. We installed a combo switch/outlet & a combo switch-switch to replace existing. The customer called to say that it didn't work, so we sent an electrician to check. He checked and everything worked fine, but the customer did not like the outlet at the switch height. We informed her that was what she had before and she didn't want to have to pay to have an extra outlet installed at normal height. We were not hired to replace the branch wiring in the customer's home. The wiring from this switch on the 1st floor to the 2nd floor light was original and in need of replacement because of it's age; the customer declined. She only wanted the existing devices replaced and a few devices added. We did verify that the switch we installed worked. We can't warranty 50yr old existing cloth wiring that needs to be replaced. I myself went out and met with this customer to resolve installation issues and areas that were supposed to be accessible, were not. I went over the new routing, provided add'l items per the customer's request, and resolved all open issues. After completion, the office staff and I called the customer several times but never received a return call. We tried to verify that everything was fine but the customer did not call until 4 months later to say 1 light switch did not work. We warranty our work but if the cause is not related to our work (i.e. old wiring) we cannot take responsibility. Tom Heskin, Gen Mgr.

We were surprised to see such a negative rating since we were still in the process of completing the job for this customer. We underestimated the time it would take to complete this job, and therefore, we had to delay the completion by three days. We have tried very hard to make sure the customer is satisfied since she was so disappointed. Once we complete her project, we hope the customer will realize everything has been done to her satisfaction. Tom Heskin, the General Mgr., went out to their home and went through every line item with the customer to make sure each and every one of her concerns was or will be addressed.

WORKING WITH ELECTRICAL SERVICES GROUP WAS A REAL PLEASURE. WE HAD A WIRE SHORT OUT AT A SWITCH IN THE KITCHEN AND CALLED THEM TO COME OUT AND FIX IT. THEY WERE VERY RESPONSIVE AND ARRIVED WHEN PROMISED. WHEN THEY STARTED TO FIX THE SHORTED WIRES, THEY FOUND THAT THE WIRING IN THE ENTIRE APARTMENT WAS BRITTLE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED (THE BUILDING IS 70 YEARS OLD WITH THE ORIGINAL WIRING). THEY SHOWED US THE PROBLEMS AND WE AGREED WITH THEIR ASSESSMENT. THEY BEGAN THE WORK AND DIDN'T STOP UNTIL THEY FINISHED, WHICH WAS 10:15 IN THE EVENING. THEY ARRIVED AT NOON AND WORKED STRAIGHT THROUGH, WITHOUT ANY BREAKS, SO THEY COULD GET OUR POWER WORKING BEFORE THEY LEFT. BOTH OF THE TECHNICIANS WERE VERY POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL. THEIR WORK WAS ALSO VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY NEVER TRIED TO RUSH THROUGH THE JOB OR COMPLAIN THAT IT WAS GETTING SO LATE. WE WILL DEFINITELY CALL ELECTRICAL SERVICES GROUP TO DO ALL OF OUR ELECTRICAL WORK.

FOR TWO 7 A.M. APPTS. ELECTRICIAN CALLED TO SAY HE WOULD BE AN HOUR LATE WHICH WAS UNACCEPTABLE. THE THIRD TIME THE COORDINATOR SAID SHE WOULD MAKE SURE HE WOULD GET TO MY PLACE ON TIME - WHICH HE DID. THE WORK TOOK LONGER THAN I ANTICIPATED SO I HAD TO LEAVE AND SCHEDULE A FOLLOW UP 7 A.M. APPT. THAT APPT. THE ELECTRICIAN CALLED IN THE MORNING TO SAY HE WAS SICK. THE NEXT TIME HE ARRIVED ON TIME. AT THE END OF THE APPT, WHEN IT CAME TIME TO BILLING HE TRIED TO CHARGE ME FOR TRAVEL TIME FOR THIS FOLLOW UP APPT. I REFUSED TO PAY BECAUSE I HAD TALKED TO THE COORDINATOR THE DAY BEFORE TO GET AN ADDITIONAL DISCOUNT ON TOP OF THE $15 COUPON FOR ALL OF THE SCHEDULING PROBLEMS. SHE GAVE ME AN ADDITIONAL $15 OFF AND MADE NO MENTION ABOUT CHARGING ME TRAVEL TIME. I HAD TO SCHEDULE ONE MORE 7 A.M. APPT. BECAUSE ONE OF THE 3 WAY DIMMER SWITCHES WAS WIRED INCORRECTLY. HE ARRIVED ON TIME AND THERE WAS NO ADDITIONAL COST FOR THIS. ALL IN ALL THEY INFORMED ME AND FINISHED THE JOB.
Description of Work: TROUBLESHOOT OF LIVING ROOM TRACK, CONVERTED 4 CANOPY PENDANTS TO TRACK PENDANTS, INSTALLED 2 TIMER SWITCHES, INSTALLED 3 DIMMER SWITCHES.

WE HAVE TO ADMIT, WE DROPPED THE BALL ON THE SCHEDULING FOR THIS CUSTOMER, AND WE WERE QUITE EMBARRASSED THAT WE HAD TO RESCHEDULE SO MANY TIMES. THIS USUALLY DOESN''T HAPPEN, BUT WE HAD SICK ELECTRICIANS AND OTHER MISFORTUNES. WE THANK THIS CUSTOMER FOR BEING SO PATIENT WITH US, AND WERE GLAD SHE WAS HAPPY WITH THE WORK.

OVERALL GOOD EXPERIENCE AND WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN. THE SECOND ELECTRICIAN CAME OUT ON SHORT NOTICE AND WAS VERY THOROUGH IN ATTEMPTING TO IDENTIFY SOURCE OF OUR PARTIAL POWER OUTAGE. TURNED OUT THAT COM ED HAD TO REPLACE A FAULTY CONNECTOR AT THE POWER SOURCE.
Description of Work: HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN OUT TO MAKE REPAIRS IN AN ATTEMPT TO END FLICKERING OF LIGHTS. ON THIS VISIT CHECKED WIRING BECAUSE OF INCREASED LIGHT FLICKERING/POWER OUTAGE.

MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS GREAT. TOM SET UP A TIME TO MAKE AN ESTIMATE QUICKLY, AND GAVE US INPUT AROUND EXPANDING CIRCUITS OR GOING TO A 200 AMP BOX.

I CALLED THEM ON THE PHONE, AND THE SCHEDULING WAS VERY EFFICIENT. THEY CAME IN THE NEXT DAY AND IT TOOK THEM LESS THAN 1 HOUR (FOR 2 PEOPLE). THEY ALSO WAIVED THE 1.5 HOUR MINIMUM. FINALLY, I GOT A $15 ANGIE'S LIST DISCOUNT. THEY DID A NICE JOB, AND I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.
Description of Work: OVERHEAD LIGHTS SHORT-CIRCUITED. TOOK DOWN LIGHT AND REPAIRED FIXTURE AND REINSTALLED.
