It was easy to arrange a convenient appointment, and the fee structure was clearly stated. George arrived promptly, was courteous, professional, and did an outstanding job. He was also very helpful in explaining what was needed for an additional job we were considering and offered helpful suggestions. We'll definitely be calling them for future work.

All their work is done by code. They were very polite and professional. They didn't push us into additional work. They knew exactly what they were doing. Very knowledgeable.

The entire process was very smooth. The system is more complicated than I thought. The electrician took time to fully diagnose the problem before jumping into a repair. He was able to rework the existing wiring so I didn't need to buy new parts. They told me the hourly rate when I called, so I wasn't surprised at the price. I would hire them again for complex system work, but it would get expensive for regular electrical projects.

ESG answered the phone very promptly and scheduled work very quickly. I did not realize that there was no trace of the wiring for the old photocell, so I didn't describe the job well. That's why the price was higher than estimated. In spite of that, the electricians worked hard to do the work. They alerted me to the problems with the fixtures I had bought. They also graciously installed the ceiling fan/light (and carried it upstairs from the trunk of my car!), which I added at the last minute. They were careful to explain that there could be problems with the ceiling fan since there was no overhead light in that bedroom. The electricians were very polite and professional and cleaned up after themselves. I wouldn't hesitate to ask them to do additional work. Highly recommended--prompt, courteous, and professional.

ESG worked as a sub for our general. They did the work as planned, on time, and with a minimum of mess. Their electricians were clean, respectful, and diligent.

They were able to come fix our kitchen lights the Friday before Christmas, George came on time, explained and researched the possible causes, explained the solution (replacing bad connection between transformer and track), and got it fixed promptly.

Job 1: George and Eugene arrived on time and went right to work. They discovered that the in-house circuit breaker for the garage was not a `match' for the garage wiring. That is, if there was an overload in the garage it would not have triggered the circuit breaker, possibly resulting in an electrical fire in the garage. They fixed this problem, explaining to me in good detail the why and how and what. Job 2: Exceptionally good. Two men for 9.5 hours in one day. Arrived on time, worked fast, provided ongoing reports on work being done, sought my preference as to work being accomplished. Intelligent recommendations.

They were very professional and they responsive. They were just too expensive. Price is an estimate.

Everything from making the appt. to the work itself was a pleasure with this company. When I made the appt. the earliest they could come was on a Monday (about one week from when the day I was calling), but they said they would call if an opening on Saturday became available. I was pleasantly surprised when they called on Friday to let me know that it didn't look like Saturday was going to free up. I thought the extra effort taken to update me on the status of Saturday when it would have been easy to not follow-up on that at all was a good sign. And, indeed, on the day of the appt. I received a call from the electrician and he arrived at exactly the time he said he would. George, the electrician who performed the work, was just wonderful; very knowledgeable, extremely professional and really courteous. I could not have been happier with the entire experience and am really glad to have found them (specifically George) as I have a couple of larger projects on the horizon.

Called ESG for an estimate, they sent George out within a few days. George was late for the appointment, but called to let me know he was running late. My husband thought the estimate was high and they negotiated to a price that was agreeable. George was very professional and knowledgeable. George and his assistant came to the house a bit late on the day of installation, but immediately got to work. They were originally supposed to only install 3 lights on the house, but I asked if they would replace a motion sensor light on the garage and they agreed to for an additional fee. Everything was done professionally and they cleaned up all debris. They were courteous and friendly.

Smooth and easy experience. I got a rough estimate when I called to make the appointment. The electrician they sent was polite, helpful and professional. He worked quickly and did a great job!

Their service was excellent. Very prompt and on time. Very good over all. I have no complaints.

They charged $195 for a service call, and the electrician told a tenant that there were code violations all over the place. Now the tenant is very upset. Horrible experience. I believe the technician should have spoke to me before the actual tenant.

Painless and fast. They were professional, clean, prompt---everything you would want in an electrical service, or any kind of service for that matter.

Was surprised that a $39 fee would be charged to give an estimate, since many competitors give free estimates. If estimate charge would be applied to work done (should we hire the co.), that would have made the difference and I would have gone through the process. I understand why a fee would be applied since a firm could spend its whole day just doing estimates - it would be a good business strategy to apply estimate cost to the fee for work done, therefore encouraging the sale of service. If I had a bigger job (this was a very small one) I probably would have continued with the process with this company since they seem to be highly qualified and highly rated.

The electrician Dorin was very professional and courteous. He quickly diagnosed the problem we were having with our circuit breakers continually tripping. He replaced two 15 amp circuit breakers with 20 amp breakers and added a third breaker to fix a double tapped circuit. Everything is working great now and we would definitely use this company again for any electrical work we may need done in the future.

The technician showed up a few hours early and apologized for it! He thoroughly checked all of the power draws on the circuit, then checked the circuit box. He determined that the circuit should have been able to handle the load, but that it seemed defective; it tripped too easily and did not stay firmly in the set position. He changed out the circuit, put in a higher amp one, and then tested it to be sure it would handle the load without tripping. He even cleaned up the paint chips that fell when he opened the circuit box. The price seems high to me, but the way the work was performed was great! This is the second time I have used this company and both times the work was great.

Overall, it went well. The details, George arrived 30 minutes late because traffic was bad, and parking was hard to find (appointment was at 9am, I called him at 9:05am to find out where he was). When he arrived, George was apologetic, sincere, and careful not to muddy up our condo on a rainy day. He helped me get the ladder, got right to work on the problem fixture, checked all of the wiring and parts, and determined that there were problems with two transformers. George drove to the electrical supplier, returned very quickly with the replacement parts, removed the three old transformers, and quickly installed the three new ones. (Result, everything worked on the first try). He made sure that he cleaned up everything, adjusted the fixture to my liking, and left the old parts with me. George was nice and professional, and I'd have him in my condo again to do future work. I'd also recommend George and ESG to do electrical work in my building.

Very well. Showed up the same day I called, and fixed/troubleshot everything I had asked for. Fixed everything quickly, carefully, and efficiently.

I was very impressed with the competence, thoroughness, and neatness of the serviceman. He arrived on time, did the work quietly and quickly, and was friendly and neat. I appreciated his willingness to get up on his ladder and replace lights in hard-to-reach fixtures, which was above and beyond the job of installing the new light fixtures.

We needed an early start to accommodate one of our residents. We got a phone call from the electricians en-route, 15 minutes before arrival. They carefully undertook each issue, figured out what was needed and were able to obtain parts at a local electrical supply company about three miles away. They were courteous and competent, serious about their work.

The four tasks were completed efficiently and correctly; they solved all 4 problems. Eugene and Muris were very professional - they arrived on time, offered to remove shoes and clean up after their work was complete, and explained exactly what was being done. They were great!

The electrician they sent spent a total of 3 hours on this job - approximately 45 minutes looking at the switch, the dimmer, the transformer and the fixture itself. He initially concluded the problem was the fixture, and so he went out to find replacement bulbs and a small wrench. He called me after he had been gone for 45 minutes to ask if it would be okay to buy a set of wrenches, as the one I needed for the fixture only came as part of a set. I said that would be fine. Another 45 minutes later, I called him to see where he was at. He informed me that he was trying to find the right bulbs. Finally, after having been gone for 2 hours, he returned, replaced one of the bulbs and concluded the problem must be the transformer. 3 hours of my time lost, and I was left with an answer in which I am not entirely confident. I am going to hire a second electrician (a friend of a friend) to confirm whether the transformer is the problem.

I selected ESG from 5 bids because, while they were our highest initial bid, they were the only contractor who followed up regularly and asked for our business. They expressed a willingness to make the price right, so I chose to give them the business at a negotiated price, as I put a high premium on communication and follow-through. The permitting process in Oak Park took a bit longer than expected, but the work was underway quickly enough. The electricians were on time and very professional. They installed the new service to code, including adding a ground at the meter and a ground at the water main. All trash was removed and the holes from the old conduit to the exterior of the house were filled. Work was completed in one day. The work passed inspection without any problem or concern. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the work and plan to include Electrical Services Group in my bids for future projects.
