Excellent! This contractor was basically repairing faulty work from a prior contractor. He quickly replaced the outlet-- which had been installed with the wrong screws and was hanging out of the wall. He also found out why my outdoor fixtures had shorted out within a few months of their installation--they had not been sealed, which caused water to leak in and short out the fixture. I liked the quick work and the contractors ability to resolve problems. I also like the fact that they informed of the source of the problems.

Everything went well from the start. The gentleman that I spoke with on the phone was very professional and polite and made sure that the serviceman that came was the one that only dealt with intercoms. George, the serviceman, arrived early (thankfully my neighbor was home to get him started) and he got right to work. We ended up needing a new front plate for the intercom system so he went out to buy one as he didn't have it in his truck. He came back promptly, replaced it and tested the buzzers on all units to make sure they worked. He then used his label maker to make really nice labels for us so the names on the intercom finally looked the same! I thought that was a nice touch. I received a follow up call from the company a few days later to make sure things had been done to our satisfaction, which they had. The gentleman who called was the one I initially spoke to and he was just as professional and friendly as the first time. Overall, a great experience.
Description of Work: The intercom for a 3 unit condo building was not working properly for some time. We needed it replaced/repaired.

This was an excellent install. They installed the new junction box with a minimum of damage to the drywall in the wall and ceiling, cleaned up after themselves, and were thoroughly professional, from the estimate to the workmen.
Description of Work: Installed a new junction box for service to a new 3-piece track lighting system, which they also installed. Also installed a 3-way switch for control to a ceiling fan.

We needed to make some changes in accordance with selling our house. ESG has done work for us in the past and we were always pleased. Although it had been 3 or more years ago, Tom remembered the past jobs and our house. "Peter" showed up right on time, diagnosed the problem and offered several solutions. These guys are terrific problem solvers. The work was done exactly right. He was neat and cleaned up after-wards. I wish all companies were run like this one. They're the best!

One evening, a 15A circuit breaker tripped, but after resetting the breaker, everything on that circuit continued to work. The next morning, we discovered that two electrical outlets on that circuit were no longer working. After reviewing the list, we chose ESG. George came out, arriving on time. He found obstructions in the conduit, and made an appointment to come back with an apprentice. He returned promptly when scheduled, worked quickly, and finished in four and a half hours instead of the estimated six, replacing all of the 80-year-old wiring in the living room in the process.
Description of Work: A fish tape was run through the 80-year-old electrical conduit from both sides until it hit an obstruction; the obstructions were about two feet apart. A hole was cut in the ceiling, and the two-foot-long piece of conduit was removed. All the wiring was removed from the living room and replaced. The repair was successful.

They were here from 7 am to noon. They were professional and cleaned up everything.
Description of Work: I didn't have any power in my garage. They said the wires underground were damaged by water. They put a new line in and had to dig a trench under all of the snow I had. They also installed an outside outlet.

I was equally impressed by both electricians at both houses. They explained everything, including costs, before they started their work. The two gentlemen were extremely nice, knowledgeable, and I felt very comfortable with them in my home with a young baby. One week after completing each job, they followed up with a phone call to make sure I had no concerns. I would definitely use them again!

The service man was timely and courteous. Proposed work was well explained prior to beginning the project. The work was completed in an efficient manner, including time spent driving to get part needed to complete repair. Most of the cost was the part that needed to be replaced. Everything went very well. Because I had hired them previously they gave me a free estimate. Even though that was only good for 30 days they honored it closer to 60 days later when I finally got around to following up. We scheduled the work, they arrived 5 minutes early, completed the job that day, as promised, and cleaned up as much as possible. Very, very nice people, I'm very happy with the work and would and will hire them again.

I left my wife a diagram of the work I wanted to get done, Javier understood what I wanted done with no problems at all. He worked all afternoon into the early evening, didn't take one break and we didn't even hear a peep out of him. Before he would set up an outlet or start drilling, etc. he would ask if this where I wanted it. His work was great and very neat, cleaned-up after the job as well. I got to tell you, this Angie's List is god sent. Thanks ESG for all your services!

I called to set the appointment up for 11/12/07 last Wednesday (11/6/07) for 10am after receiving information from the customer service rep. concerning the nature of work, cost and availability. I received a call back on Friday (11/9/07) rescheduling the time of the appointment for 12 pm on the same day (11/12/07). On the day of the appointment (11/12/07) I received another phone call at 10am stating that the technician wouldn't be available until around 1:00 or 1:30 pm. At 1:30 pm no technician had showed or called. I called Electrical Service Group at 1:45 pm and was told that the technician would be to me next and they would call him and find out when. They never called me back, so I called them back at 2:00 pm and was told they couldn't get a hold of the technician. I live about 30 minutes away from the location where the work was being done and found it completely unprofessional to not have received a phone call or service of any kind, not even good customer/phone service.

We called ESG because the home inspection for our new house indicated there were a few cloth wires coming out of the panel, we needed a couple GFIs, and we wanted two new light boxes. One of the reasons we chose ESG is that the person who booked the job said they could start that Friday. We wanted to get the electricians in and out within a day or two, finish painting and move in a week later. First EGS canceled its start date and rescheduled for a few days later. Then, the team who came, Jimmy and Bill, looked over the house and said it was going to take longer. Jimmy basically wanted to rewire the entire house, although he did not sit down and explain it as such. English is not his first language, but moreover we felt he did not make a big effort to communicate exactly what he wanted to do to our house and how important it was. In the end we agreed to everything which we don't regret. The job took twice as long as originally estimated.

THE ESTIMATE WAS ON 6/6 AND THE ENTIRE JOB WAS COMPLETED BY 6/13 (1 WEEK LATER). THERE WERE SEVERAL CODE AND UNSAFE ISSUES WITH THE ELECTRICAL, SO THAT IS WHY THE HOME WAS REWIRED A FORMAL PROPOSAL WAS WRITTEN AND THE ADDITIONAL ATTIC WORK WAS ALSO EXPLAINED AND SIGNED BY CUSTOMER. WE THANK THIS CUSTOMER FOR TAKING THE TIME TO RATE US BUT WE DO NOT AGREE WITH HER ASSESSMENT AND WISH SHE HAD TOLD US HER CONCERNS AT THE TIME THE WORK WAS DONE.

Tidy and quick - gave me some suggestions on moving our small freezer away from the breaker panel area and also advised that we need to divide the circuit for the dishwasher and microwave (have scheduled that separately so will report on that). Courteous and easy to deal with. Nice company.

Overall, the work went very well. After the inspection they did have to redo some wiring, but they corrected that in a timely manner.
Description of Work: Electrical Services Group put up lights in the dining room, hallways and rewired outdoor lighting. Their major work was to wire a new bathroom in the basement and replace all of the old wire.

George, our service tech, was here on time. He called on the way to make sure we were home. George was able to trouble shoot our problem and fix it on the spot. A power surge had ruined the wires in the doorbell. He was able to reroute the wires to another connection within the doorbell and that solved both the phone and the doorbell problem. He coached me through installing a surge protector to prevent future problems.
Description of Work: Our doorbell is tied into our phone line. A power outage caused a loud noise on the phone line that made our home phone unusable. The doorbell itself was also not working.
