Bob Jaacks Rustic Wood Fencing & Decks

I was impressed with this company from the time that they came out to do an estimate. At that time, Ryan Jaacks really listened to what I wanted to achieve, which wasn't completely easy, and together we figured out how to get the look that I wanted as opposed to other companies that just flat out told me that I couldn't have it done that way. The two men who built the deck were prompt and kept me up to date on the status of their work and the permit approvals. As they got the site dug out, they consulted me about a little bit better way to do frame the deck, which I completely agreed with and was happy to get their input. Their work is just beautiful and the deck turned out even better than I imagined it would and my family is enjoying it every day!

The crew arrived at the promised time and were done in a few hours. When i initially called for an estimate I left a message and someone called back within the hour. They honored the Angie's List coupon without any problems.

I set up an appointment to get an estimate and Bob can out, measured, explained the options, and gave me an estimate on the spot. The crew came out a week later, went over the details with me and completed the task the same day. They were a great crew, they asked questions when needed, and clean up afterwards. Would definitely recommend them.

I scheduled an appointment to get a quote on vinyl fencing. They were booked several weeks out on weekends, so I wound up scheduling the fence estimate and an unrelated appointment on the same day when I could leave work early. I told the other (non-fence) contractor that I would arrive as close to 3 pm as possible, and the fencing appointment was scheduled for an hour later. When I arrived home from work, I saw a man walking around my backyard, and, assuming it was the first contractor, was startled because there was no reason for him to be in the yard. When I approached, the man immediately teased me for being late (I think he saw this as friendly), but then I found out that I was actually speaking to the fencing salesman who was an hour early. I understand that he came from another job, but there is such a thing as being too early and I’m really not sure how I feel about him letting himself into my yard without me there. After dealing with the other contractor, I spoke to the fence salesman. Firstly, I was a bit frustrated that their administrative team had apparently not shared any of the details I had discussed with them over the phone about what we wanted. Secondly, the salesman immediately tried to talk me out of vinyl fencing because of the expense, which I thought was fairly presumptuous since he knows nothing about my family’s finances. He went on to tell me that people praise him for giving this sort of advice and recognizing what people need. He wound up giving me an extremely high quote (compared to others) for wood fencing, refusing to quote a large gate we wanted in the back, and say anything about vinyl fencing other than giving me a brochure and saying it would be around $10,000. We ultimately decided to postpone the project until next year, but I do not think we will be calling Bob Jaacks for the job.

I was very happy with Rustic. The serviceman came out on time, finished quickly and did a good job.

They were careful and redid a part of the work due to an issue they spotted and raised with us. The fence looks great. They came on time, etc. They did surprisingly little damage to the flower beds, bushes and plants as they built the fence. They were really careful and respected our requests. They cleaned up after themselves. The estimator, Bob Krueger, was fine too.

The finished fence looks good, the overall quality is good. The team that was here was professional, and the estimation process via phone was easy. Quality of wood is good too. There was just one problem, and they didn't react to it well, which is why they get a "B" here instead of an "A". One of the two gates wasn't able to latch and unlatch properly - looks like one of the posts on one side of the gate settled a bit right after placement, or it was just not level with the others to begin with. In any case, the gate didn't latch. So I called to have them fix it. First response I got was to tell me the receiver was adjustable, and just adjust it. So I go out there and, not, it is NOT adjustable, and in any case the screws holding it in are stripped. I call back, they say someone will fix it. A couple weeks go by, nothing. Call again, they seem unaware of the request, and they put it on their docket or whatever, again. A few days later, someone does show up, and moves the receiver to fix it. Only, this doesn't actually fix it, it still doesn't work. A day or two later, just as I was going to call again, someone else comes out again, and they bore out the receiver hole to make room. Now it sort of works. Basically, it took them multiple calls and multiple tries, and I end up with a half-baked sort-of fix. Not great customer service. Its really a shame, because the rest of the fence and gate work is very well done, the price was right, and everything else was great. All they had to do was be more receptive to a request to fix a small issue they caused. I am not sure if I'd recommend them or not.

From start to finish the company was very professional and demonstrated a high level of service. The initial estimate was thoughtful and thorough. The fence install team was outstanding, they were meticulous with the installation, ensuring a very straight fence, proper placement of gates and angles of the fence. Overall we were happy and the one thing we would have liked to see better experience with clean up of the small fence clippings - we found numerous small pieces of aluminum shards in the yard and small plastic encasings. But even with that one drawback, overall we felt it was outstanding service and we are recommending them.

Jerry came to my house to estimate a fence, he arrived at my home on time.He estimated my fence project in about 45 to 50 minutes, going over many detail and answering all my questions. I called him back two more times to make changes. His attitude was always very professional. The crew came to install my fence, the project took two full days. very, very professional. I couldn't be happier and so is my dog.

Jerry the estimator/planner was great. He was friendly, professional, easy to schedule and arrived on time. He recommended a better fence than we had planned and we are very glad he did. Installation was scheduled quickly. Henry and his team did a great job installing everything. I'd use them again...for sure! The gate and fence look great and work beautifully.

I called the company and they came out to give an estimate. After getting three other estimates from other companies on Angie's List, I found the price to be the most competitive. When I called to schedule the fence repair, they scheduled me for June1, Friday. However, Friday came and went and no one showed up. So I followed-up with a phone call to the company on Tuesday. They said they were sorry that no one had called to reschedule and then rescheduled me for June 12th. The company did come out this time on June 12th and did the work appropriately -finally this time.The company should have better follow through in terms of scheduling. I thought it was rather shabby of them to drop the ball like that.

Overall everything went great. The salesman was able to come out very quickly and provided a quote right away. I was then able to schedule the work very soon after that.Two workers arrived with all of the materials and worked most of the day removing the old fence and installing the new one.The new fence looks great and I am really happy with the work that was done.

My fence was sagging badly and about to fall on the neighbors property as a result of three posts that had rotted through and were now useless to support the weight. I called Bob Jaacks Rustic Wood Fencing & Decks on Tuesday in the morning and they arrived the next day to replace the posts. Within a few hours they had replaced all three posts with no damage to yard or anything else. These guys are real pros and very prompt. I will use them again if my fence requires repairs or replacement down the road.

excellent workmanship by the crew which stayed until nearly sundown. One man came back the next day to do the last section and complete some finishing we both thought appropriate .I rarely if ever give A's out...so it was not A's across the board. Ask me about price and quality in 5 years, then the Bs might turn to A's.

Everything went very well. He was on time for appointment and offered suggestions that saved me money. The work was done as scheduled and the installers did a great job. Very happy with the experience and will continue to use them in the future.

His estimate was 1000.00 more than the 2 other estimates I received.

They showed up on time and were professional. The fence and gate were finished by mid afternoon. It looks good and provides the privacy from the alley that we wanted. Lee was very helpful about giving me a quote based on measurements and pictures I took into the office. The job was scheduled for two days later.

Ryan Jaacks was very timely in returning calls getting quotes to me & was easy to work with on any changes & details. The crew that came out todo the work were very efficient & detailed Any mistakes or corrections were taken care of immediately and without a fuss. Complete job was done in the 5 days as quoted by Ryan ( wouldve been done in 4 but took a day off due to constant rain). Cleaned up the area before leaving. Very pleased with the whole project & would recommend and use Rustic Wood again

They were very prompt in returning my call. I was called back within 12 hours. They were able to give my an estimate over the phone. I had some damage resulting from a storm we had. They were able to take an over the phone payment after the job was done which made the process pretty convenient. They did cost a little more than I had paid for repairs in the past but they did do good work. I would use them again in the future.

They ere very professional and done a thorough job with the estimate. It took a couple of weeks for the scheduled appointment. When it was time for them to come they came right on time.

Ross came out to do the estimate. He came out a little later than originally planned but that was fine. He stayed and did all the measurements. He really knew his products and brought a sample of it. I even talked to the owner on the phone one time. He's very pleasant and helpful. They were very responsive to my call for an estimate.

Everything went very well. The prices were reasonable and they worked quickly.

They were reliable and did a good job.

I didn't think the price was the greatest deal but I didn't do comparisons. The quality was good.

The quality of the work was outstanding. It took a long time to get a response from the company. They promised one time and did not call until a week later. When they finally scheduled an appointment, they were late and did not call. I had to call to see where they were. They ended up coming the next day. Their work is excellent and the workers were professional.
