The Steve Piper and Sons Inc. tree service contacted us with in days of our initial phone call and made an appointment to come out to give us and estimate. They were prompt have looked over the tree and listened to what we wanted done and gave us a written estimate. We signed the contract and they said that they would call in about 2 to 3 weeks to set up a date to trim the tree. 3 weeks later they called and set up a date for that Wednesday after 7:30 am. They came at 8:20 and were done by 9:30. The tree was trimmed the limbs were put in a chopper and they raked up any small twigs that fell. The job was done fast and they cleaned up and they are sending the bill in the mail. They are professional. Estimates are accurate and careful.

The estimate was given approximately two weeks after the first contact. The person who provided the estimate did not announce himself upon arrival or departure despite having someone home. We would have felt a little more confident that the estimate included all of the things we wanted done and that it included the appropriate tree (given the number of trees on the lot) if there had been some interaction at this point. However, I'm sure they are not used to having home owners home in the middle of the day, and we've had terrible response from other tree services and were relatively confident that the estimate was for the correct tree. So, this was still better than previous interactions with other companies (none listed on this site). We decided to proceed. It took approximately 6-8 weeks from the estimate until the tree was removed. We were called the day before and given a range of 9 hours for arrival. The workers arrived before 8 am and finished around 1 pm. They left the area near the tree very clean. The remnants of the tree that weren't removed the day of the tree was cut down were picked up before 8 am the following morning. Overall, they did a very nice job, and everyone we interacted with was friendly and courteous.

The workers who came out were very good. I was not here when they did the service, my wife was here, and she reported to me that they were good, courteous and did the work they were supposed to do. They cleaned up well. They called the day before and no specific time was given for the next day. She said it would be during the day that day but we did not need to be here when they did it. It was completed when they said it would be. They did what we wanted done.

Called day before arrival to see time was okay. All trees were marked for type of service to be done. Sent three men and large brush grinder. Arrived at 1030 hours left at 1430 hours. All trimmings and logs reduced to chips and removed from our site.. Took 0.50 hour lunch . Raked all debris and toted away. Before leaving they asked for inspection to see if their work was satisfactory. Price was minimum 50% lower than three other bids by tree services. Trimming time was dictated by type of trees {oaks} being in dormant period

When I placed the order, I was told we would be the first delivery of that day and to be ready for the truck by 6:30 A.M. The delivery was made at 12:45 P.M. With not so much as a "Sorry, we're late." When I contacted the office, their personnel said none of their employees can promise a delivery time.

Steve Piper and Sons is the gold standard for mulch. You won't find a better price for triple processed hardwood mulch. They are the producer because of their tree services. They take the trees they cut down and grind it into mulch themselves. All the local landscapers get their mulch from these guys and then mark it up when they come around the neighborhood. Get it direct and save a ton!

Professional contact, quick, on time delivery, they stacked the wood on the side of my house. The wood burns great, nice mix of dry and long-burning. I will use them next year for sure.

I have not had the work done. I saw them do work for the city by our curb. I asked for an estimate on a tree removal. The worker said to contact the home office. Dan came out promptly and gave what I considered a competitive quote. I also realized I had seen them remove a tree from my neighbors yard and was impressed by the job. My neighbor was very happy with the work. We had too many other projects going to take out the tree at that time.

We had used Steve Piper and Sons before but it had been several years. I called them up and since I had been happy with their services in the past, I decided would try them again. I found their prices to be reasonable so I booked a day for them to come and deliver and stack a face cord of wood. They could give me an approximate time the wood would be delivered, which would have been nice, but they did say I could call them after 7:30 the morning of our delivery to get a more specific time for the delivery. When we called, we were told we were about half way on the list so deliver should be made in the late morning. It arrived about 9:30a. The wood is neatly stacked where I wanted and, based on based experience, I expect we'll get many wonderful fires from the wood this coming winter.

The delivery window was 6:30am-1pm. I thought this was a bit too wide and would have appreciated a tighter delivery window. I called the morning of delivery and the voice sounded like the voice on the recorded introduction (Steve Piper himself?). Anyway, he was willing to share that I was # 2 for delivery and even gave me an approximate arrival time because Delivery #1 only received 1 Face Cord. His estimate was right on the money. While the firewood itself seemed a little pricey, this is the first time I have purchased such a large quantity at once (2 Face Cords). I used my neighbor's receommendation for this transaction. Like him, I was very impressed with every aspect of the experience, especially the time and attention the crew took to move and stack my firewood. I felt that moving and stacking was worth every penny of the $15/face cord I was charged. I will definitely be using Steve Piper & Sons for future firewood purchases!

Appraisal was fast and easy, Ron knows his trees. The men who came out to trim the trees were very thorough and professional. The stump grinder came out separately and the man didn't see all the stumps that needed ground so it took several trips with very long delays between. I had to keep calling back to get an update. I thought their prices were great.

This is the second year I've used this company. Every year I dread ordering firewood, either they stack it very loosely or short me on a full face cord. Last year I got a face cord, this year I got one and a half face cords. They stack it tight and they take into consideration your sight. It truely measures 4x8. They also sweep up afterwards.

Steve Piper & Sons Inc. Company provided good service. The firewood was delivered on time. The total cost was what they had quoted initially. I would continue to use them in the future.

I called asked for a price got quote of $85 per face cord. Strange thing is they have a delivery charge per cord so even if you order 2 or 3 cords and all are delivered together, you still have to pay 2 or 3 delivery charges, seems like one would suffice since I think it is around $30. So we decided to pick it up. Very nice people working there.

Everything went very well. My neighbor (who is known for getting great deals) had the same amount ofwood delivered the next day for $40 more and they just dumped it in his driveway.

They wasted about an hour in between trimming the front and back trees and a storm was coming. I would not use them again.

We loved them. They were real nice people to deal with. The price was reasonable. I called them back about a month ago because I noticed some strange growth on the leaves that were falling from one of our big oak trees and it made me think that maybe it was diseased. The guy was here 24 hours later and he was awesome. He said it was an insect thing and it was normal. He could have tried to sell me something but he didn't. I think they are a good company. They only charged $250 for the arborvitae, which we thought was really cheap. When they said $250 we said sold. We don't know about the price for the big tree because that is something you do once in your life. They only charged $100 to grind all the stumps.

The service exceeded our expections.

They stowed wood in September last year. The experience was good. They arrived on time. The quality of wood was good.

The price was right, and the wood looks good. I measured the wood when I got home and they clearly gave me more that 1/2 cord. They said as much as the store. A pleasant experience.

They called the day before, and the crew showed up when expected. Very efficient and professional, both trees removed, ground up, and the area swept. The entire process took just around an hour. Very satisfied with everything.

Called and received a quote that was very reasonable. They scheduled a delivery date, but could not set a specific window other than 7 am to 4:30 pm. They said their normal procedure is to collect a check left on the front door and then deliver and stack per customers instruction. Since I wanted some of the wood stacked in the garage and the rest outside, I stayed home to direct them. I called the morning of the delivery and was told the delivery would be in the afternoon. They arrived around 2 pm and were very responsive and stacked as I directed in my garage and outside. They cleaned up very thoroughly and were very friendly.
