They did a good job all the way. In fact even the outside stack that they had to put in, they actually spray painted it an almond color to blend in with the brick work. He didn't have to do that. That was over and above and they didn't charge me for it either. He didn't charge any extra. It was a package deal of a certain amount that they had estimated and they stayed within it. The price was what it should have been. He came right on time. He was punctual. He did a good job. He cleaned it up. They quoted me a price of $1130, which was right in the range. Because the range on Angie's List of all the one's that I've looked up was anywhere from a $1000 to $1300. So they were right in the range and they did the little extras, and did it within the time frame that they had said.

We discovered that we had 10 pCi/L. We called RadoVent. They gave us a quote and seemed very professional and had good reviews. They showed up on time,. After inspecting the color of our house, they went to a hardware store to get spray paint for the pvc pipe that matched our house. They were very clean and professional and explained how the system operated. We had a professional check the radon level 3 weeks later and the level was .2 pCi/L, which was the lowest ever seen by the tester. We just did another mail-in test (4/28/14) and the results were below .8 which is as low of a reading as they report. I would use them again!

The owner of the company actually came out to do the initial bid, and he did a full inspection of the basement, our sump-pump, the exterior of the house, the garage, the attic, crawl-spaces, and the roofline. After the inspection, we walked through, and he gave me a detailed explanation of what he suggested we could do. We discussed a few alternatives, and came up with a great plan that would minimize the overall visibility of the radon pipes. I had already performed a couple charcoal tests, and I had also purchased a year ago a digital radon reader that I was using to monitor radon levels month-to-month. My first charcoal tests had come back between 6 and 6.5. My digital radon reader fluctuated during the year between 4.2 and 9, averaging in the 7 range in the late spring and fall. Wanting to utilize my basement more, for work and for the kids, my wife and I decided to invest in the radon mitigation for peace of mind and for our general health. Radovent provides a very good warranty that stays with the house, if we for some reason decided to move. Our sump pump was already professionally done, and we had no issues there. The guys showed up on schedule, and it took two of them 6 or 7 hours to do the job. I monitored their work, and they were kind enough to explain everything they were doing. They got me involved on a few small technical decisions about where I would want them to install an additional outlet in the crawl-space above the garage to power the fan. They fully caulked the basement, the cracks, the floor/to/wall joints and inspected the slab very carefully. They gave me tips as to what to do when I install a bathroom down there, and how to ensure any future work doesn't mess with the radon mitigation system. They fixed a broken light fixture for me in my attic, which was not part of the job (a small deal that says something about their quality of service). We re-assessed the initial inspection decisions with the guys doing the work, and really didn't have to change a thing. In the end, the only portions of the pipes that you can see are a direct vertical in the basement (from floor to ceiling, with a bend to go into the garage), and a direct vertical in the garage straight up into the space above the garage. The PVC sticks out a few feet above the roof-line, but is not visible from the front of the house, and the guys painted it to match the roof, so all-in-all, it will never be noticed. The fan is completely quiet. The guys put a monitor indicator that shows me the status of the fan, and the air-flow in the garage right on the pipe, so I can easily see at all times how the system is running. I was amazed at how much air it pulls from under the basement slab. All-in-all, 2 follow-up charcoal tests gave me 0.3 and 0.6 readings. And my digital reader, which I placed closer to a wall and to the floor to maximize the worst case scenario for radon exposure is reading 0.9. I definitely recommend this team of guys to mitigate your radon issues and give you peace of mind. regarding radon exposure. They have good manners, they take the time to explain what they are doing. Their product and warranty is great. Job well done.

I called and was able to make an appointment for Saturday, which was great. The company called the day before to confirm. The technician arrived as agreed. We walked around the house to discuss and agree the best placement for the system. The technician did a great job explaining how the system would work and what the options were. I appreciated that he spend time to evaluate more than one alternative. Before he started work, he was able to confirm the quote his company had previously provided. He worked all day to install the system. At the end of the day, he showed me how the system worked, what I needed to be on the lookout for, and talked me through the warranty and procedures should I have a problem. The technician was pleasant, professional, and did a good (not amazing) job of cleaning up after himself. When I got the initial quote, the company stated that they could and would exactly match the color of my existing downspout. On the day of installation, the technician presented me with a sample of the conduit material, and said it would match the existing, but the existing is faded. I could see that the difference was basically fading and it was good enough for me, since its all on the back of the house. However, I think the guy who gave me the quote perhaps "oversold" this point on the matching. I got two quotes on this job (both high rated Angie's List vendors). Before the coupon, RadoVent was the more expensive choice. With the coupon, they were on par with the other vendor (who did not offer any coupon at the time). Overall, I am very satisfied and would recommend RadoVent.

After contact was Made. Tech arrived and began work, because of layout of house he suggested it would be better to do install with pipes.running from crawl space to outside rather than thru garage. Or a exterior install vs interior install. He was correct it was the better way.

Overall a good job, at a competitve price.
Description of Work: Radon mitigation system was installed in my 600 square foot crawl with an exterior pipe/gutter attached. 6 mil plastic with roof paper and fan. I had 6 estimates 1700 to 2450. All doing the same thing. The radon levels came in at 4.4. Have not retested yet to see if it has been lowered. There is a 5 year parts, and a 15 years guarantee on safe levels, transferrable to new ownerz, since i am selling the house. The only thing that i was not happy with was the extra time it took, which was 1 more day. This was because they sent only 1 guy not 2 as promised. Ryan was excellent he had to park a block away, and walk to the house, since lombard streets were flooded. So they made the extra effort for the work. Wes who did the install was on time, professional. They take credit cards, many did not. many of the companies seem fly by night, and not long term. Angies list coupon $75 off helped make the choice.

The install took longer than the workman originally envisioned. The work was done as discussed in the estimate.Thge piping was done in a workmanlke manner. The installer carefully explained the what steps were going to occur. 3 holes were drilled. 3'" pipe was used for the main piping run to the fan with two 2" pipes drilled into the concrete and one 3" pipe drilled into the concrete at the end of the run.The fan and elecric box and exhaust piping were installed in a workmanlike manner. The workman used a tarp in the hall from the front door to theb asement door to keep things neat. He was personable. One thing that sets Rado Vent apart is their 15 yr warranty to keep your radon level no higher than 1.9. If you run a radon test with a reputable lab (and have not broken any sump seals or done anything to the fan0, and the radon level is >1.9 they will fix whatever is wrong at no cost to you. Last summer, many homes that were ok in the past had their levels spike above 1.9 because of the drought. That situation would be fixed at no charge. That being said, the 15 yr warranty is only good if the company remains solvent. Some of us remember the Rusty Jones lifetime guarantee. Since the system was just installed today, I do not have an operational track record. They are smart enough to avoid a conflict of interest in measuring the radon levels after the install. They give you a testing kit to measure the radon starting a few days after the install which you mail to a testing lab. They also have an Angie's list coupon which helps to reduce the cost.

Quote was on target. Showed up on time. Completed within the day. Accepted Angie's List coupon without hassle. Explained how things work clearly, including all warranties. Does not measure radon afterwards because of 'conflict of interest'. which I think is a good thing. The system has functioned continuously thus far for 1 year. The only thing I'd improve on is the sealing of the test hole they drilled on the other side of the home. Used caulk, but it eventually got loose. I had to used concrete mix to seal it thoroughly later. No big issue if you are a bit handy.

Perfect. Called for an estimate and was given several installation options over the phone. An email followup detailed the options discussed. Scheduled an appointment a few days later. The installer was 30 minutes early and showed us our options for the internal/external system. We were given a clear overview of what was going to be done and the installer went over the system after it was installed.

I selected Radovent based on their good reviews, good prices, and Angie's list coupon. I called them, and someone explained their systems and how they install several basic types of systems at standard prices. I also viewed examples of their work. I went ahead and scheduled the work. On the installation date, Ryan showed up on time, analyzed the situation, and explained his recommended system configuration. Then he went to work, preparing the crawlspace area, sealing the sump pit, and sealing the cracks between the slab and the foundation walls, as well as some cracks in the slab. He drilled a hole in the slab, installed PVC pipe and ran it through the header into the garage. He ran the pipe up through the garage, installed the fan in the garage attic, and extended the pipe out through the roof. Then he explained thoroughly how the system works and how their warrantly works. The whole process took about 6 hours. I had another radon test a week later, and the level was almost zero. The inspector was impressed with the quality of the work, and asked for RadoVent's contact information. Besides working as designed, the system is barely noticeable at all. And the price was exactly as stated, and quite reasonable.
Description of Work: A radon remediation system was installed in my home after a radon test revealed results of 6.9 PCI, over the limit of 4 PCI. The system draws the radon from beneath the basement slab in the crawlspace, and vents it through the garage and out the roof.

The experience was excellent. I was given a firm quote over the phone. The technician was punctual. He explained the work to be performed and how to do the post-installation measurement taking. The work was performed in a professional manner. The external portions of the system blend in well with the house. After the installation, the basement area was very clean and neat. My post installation readings were where the company stated they would be.

I was very pleased with the service from start to finish. I received an estimate on the phone after answering several questions about our house, followed up that day with a written proposal (via email) with detailed information and photos regarding the installation. The estimate was very much in-line with others I had received, perhaps a bit lower. The installer was punctual and took the time to answer my many questions thoroughly and courteously. He volunteered to help me move various boxes that were in the area where he needed to work. He was also very thorough in going through all of the warranty issues and general information we should know about maintaining the system and performing periodic radon tests. The installation took about 4 1/2 hours, which was less than we expected, and everything was cleaned up when the installer left. I was particularly happy with RadoVent when, a week later, I realized I had forgotten to give my Angie's List coupon to the installer to receive my discount. I called the company and they were most gracious and said they would send me a check in the amount of the discount I should have received. GREAT company to deal with!!
Description of Work: RadoVent's technician installed a radon mitigation system in our house. He put a pipe in our basement floor - allowing the radon to be discharged from under the house - and ran it through a crawlspace into our garage and then into the attic above the garage, where the radon is vented through the roof with the help of a fan. He also sealed the open space around our sump pump to prevent radon from entering our house. RadoVent guarantees that the level of radon in our house will be well below the level deemed acceptable by our state EPA.

Overall, it took less than 4 hours on one day. Theyt showed up on time and got the job done.
Description of Work: Radovent did a very professional job. Our radon level lested above the minimum, so we had Radovent do the remediation. They drilled a hole in the foundation in an inconspicous spot, installed a large PFC pipe that they ran through the garage and vented through the roof. It brought our radon level to nearly zero. It is totally silent, you can't see it, they were very neat and clenaed up everything when they left. Very polite and professional. I will use them again and recommend them.

Tech came on time (actually early) and was very very helpful. I bombarded him with questions and he answered everyone of them and explained each. We went in the basement to decide where to put the system and why to put it in certain areas. Then we went outside and talked about how I wanted it ran up the house. He even went to get a different color for the downspout to match what I already have. I'm very very pleased with the service Radovent has to offer.

They gave me an estimate of around $1,700.00. When they came out, they drilled the hole and installed the PVC pipe up and out of the home. They installed the needed electricity and the blower motor. They sealed off the top of the sump pump with a clear plastic. At that point, he went into the crawl space and laid down heavy plastic and put down wood strips to lock the plastic between the strips all the way around. He then put caulking between the concrete and the wooden strips. He also pushed the plastic into the caulking which sealed it up. I know that it is working because the gauge they installed shows the radon is down to about 1.5, they guaranteed me that it would be below 2.4. I am very happy with the work they did. The actual cost was lower than the original estimate because the crawl space is smaller than we had estimated. They also honored a $50.00 off discount since I am an Angie's List member. I would definitely recommend them to others.
Description of Work: I called them several months ago and they told me what kind of reading I would need to take to see if I had radon in my home. The reading came back at 4.5 on the upper level of my home. They also told me to check the basement at least 8'-10' away from the sump pump, I took 2 readings down there and they came in at 8-10.
