Working with Naperville Windows & Doors was a great experience. Several windows in my home had snapped springs/strings which didn't allow them to open. NWD did not push replacing the windows and Don knew exactly what needed to be done. One window that had a broken seal that I thought would need to be replaced only needed new glass. Saved a lot of money not having to replace windows. The guys that came out got to work quickly, were professional and great teamwork. Even one sash I insisted needed to be repaired really didn't need to and NWD wouldn't let me pay for the part. I'm sure other sashes/springs/strings will need to be replaced eventually and I will definitely call again. I'm so happy to have my windows back to normal.

They did an amazing job! The installers were so friendly and willing to answer all my questions, no matter how dumb they may have been. They didn't rush through the job..taking time to properly install each window. Don, the owner, was extremely easy to deal with!

Don the manager said his guys could do it even though they have never installed a door like this. It took 3 men and nearly two days to install it and they did a superb job. If I have to ever replace my windows in my home I wont even shop around. I will come to Don and his crew without exception.
Description of Work: I did not purchase any doors or windows from them. I had them install a custom iron and steel door from California. The door was from Hubbard doors and the door was nearly 800 lbs...yes thats right 775 lbs to be exact.

Don came out to assess our needs, do some rough measuring and give us a few options on how to proceed. In a couple of days he emailed a few estimates. We settled on one, then he came back to do more precise measuring. Don is very personable and professional. No hard sell which we appreciate. In a few weeks, a crew came out to do the installation. Like Don, they were nice and professional. They finished that day and did a great job.

They were very courteous, and the guy I spoke with answered all my annoying questions, which I really appreciated. He did not up-sell me on anything, which I also appreciated. The quality of the work was excellent, and I definitely will be calling them again for other window repairs. The price I feel was reasonable considering he ripped out the old molding, added fresh molding, caulked and re-painted.

AMAZING! Don was so kind and went through all my options and I decided to go with the simonton windows. The installers spent the entire day and did a meticulous job. They installed beautiful trim and even painted it! Home Depot quoted me over $8,000 for the SAME window and they were not going to finish the trim. You will not be disappointed with Naperville Windows and Doors. I plan to have them install a new front door also. Home Depot quoted over $8,000 for a new door and Don's quote was $4,300.

Don did a great job explaining our options. He was very courteous and patient with us. We were not rushed and he answered all our questions. A pleasure to work with. He came by to see if we had any questions during installation and was just a phone call away if needed. Installation crew of Peter and Joe can't be beat! Very hard workers. Courteous, very skilled, kept our home and work areas clean. Very nice men. Highly recommend this company. In fact, we just hired them again to install new front and rear doors! You won't go wrong with this company!

From the initial quote to the final installation, Don and his team were extremely professional and worked with integrity. We were concerned about replacing wood/aluminum clad windows with vinyl. I had researched vinyl windows for a long time and read about the Simonton windows in Consumer Reports. The quality and price were excellent, but the proof is in the installation. Don gave an initial quote based on measurements and our specs then did a final measurement once we were ready to order. He told us to expect the windows in four to six weeks. They arrived a week later from our order! We set a date to begin work and the team arrived bright and early on day one. We took down some of our window treatments and they took down the rest. They would have done it all if we had asked but I wanted to put some of them away in a certain way. They moved furniture as needed. You'll want to cover everything because the drywall dust gets everywhere. We frankly weren't mentally prepared for what would happen next. I had in my mind that they would work on one section at a time and I would keep my house in some semblance of order. I was deluded. If you replace all your windows, it's a major construction zone and your house will be a mess. Fair warning. The men laid drop cloths in all the areas they worked and vacuumed up debris at the end of the day. They took off their shoes when entering the house. They asked for wasp spray because I had several wasp nests around the eaves. You may invest in that before the job starts. The team of two men began tearing out the original windows one by one starting with the top floor. They tore out seven windows the first day, putting in the replacements as they went and then the completed the rest of the windows on the second day. Because we were expecting rain on the first day, the men completed the exterior trim on the windows they already installed to ensure no rain came in. Their ideal plan was to get all the windows in and then work on the exterior and interior trim. There were several windows that had a decent amount of rot and the workers replaced the rotted wood. One window was rotted down to the vertical studs and they replaced those, too. They took great care to avoid breaking the siding that they had to pull off to do that and replaced it all. There were a couple of small spots on a few windows where the tear-out process pulled on the wallboard and those will need to be sanded and re-painted. Very minor. They took extra care to avoid damaging a custom paint job in the family room, even though they had to replace some framing. The men were polite, neat and cleaned up each day after their work. They used our garage for storing the materials and kept one trailer on our driveway during the job. But when they were done, they cleaned it all up, including around the yard. The men came back the third day and completed the rest of the interior and exterior framing. They put on the screens and even washed the windows. They showed us how to operate the windows and asked us to do a final inspection. I wasn't home and when I came back I did my own inspection and found a couple of sticking windows from the anti-theft bars and one screen was damaged. I texted Don and he sent back one of the workers who went through all the windows again with me to ensure they were perfect. He also repaired the screen. In all, the guys were extremely professional and diligent. Out of four contractors that I interviewed, NWD did more work for less money and did it well beyond my expectations. I'd hire them again without question. Don also quoted a new front door at our request but front doors are extremely expensive. He inspected our door and said it was fine and didn't need to be replaced. Great experience.

I am very pleased with my experience with Naperville Windows and Doors. Don provided an estimate with several options and explained all the choices thoroughly. I was pleasantly surprised when the delivery occurred a few weeks early. The installation team was professional and neat. I requested quotes from 3 different companies to replace over 20 windows in my house due to breaches in the double panes. Two companies quoted me 37,000 and 44,000 respectively to replace the windows in question. Don from Naperville Windows & Doors came to my house after normal business hours to accommodate my schedule. After looking at the first window he immediately told me I do not need a new window since the rest of the window was fine. He said all I needed was the glass. He proceeded to check each of the other windows in question to verify that only the glass was needed and that it could be replaced in each of my Hurd windows. He then told me he does not do that kind of work but said I should be able to call any Hurd dealer. He then assured me that if I could not find someone to replace the glass only, I should call him back and he would help me find someone! I called a couple Hurd dealers and settled on a quote for $7,000 to replace the glass in all the windows. I am very grateful that I called Naperville Windows & Doors.
Description of Work: Don saved me at least $30,000 by telling me my best option, even when the best option did not include his services. Naperville Windows & Doors will be my only call for any future window or door requirements. It is rare to find a business that is truly interested in what is best for the customer.

Don and I talked via email and phone to decide on when to install the doors. His crew arrived on time and worked all day to install the doors. My existing exterior steel entry doors were about 25 years old, and definitely showing their age with a fair amount of surface rust that I simply could not keep up with through repeated sanding and painting. My project involved replacing: 1) a front entry door with two sidelights, (2) a back door, (3) a two-panel French patio door. I called NWD to schedule an appointment for a quote and spoke to Don, the owner, who arranged for a visit the next day. I had been researching door brands for several weeks beforehand, and was leaning towards fiberglass doors from Therma-Tru. This was a brand that several previous contractors recommended and which NWD also carried. When Don arrived, we discussed my project needs and he walked me through the various options (and there were a lot), including door material (steel, fiberglass, vinyl), glass options, manufacturers, hardware finishes, locksets, relative prices). Turns out that Don worked his way up in the business, and has a considerable amount of hands-on experience in window and door installation across a number of brands. He took some time to inspect the existing doors, and after I explained my needs, he suggested that I consider Provia in addition to Therma-Tru, although he agreed to provide quotes for both. On leaving, Don said he would get the estimates to me by email the following day. I received NWD's quote the following day as promised. In addition to providing quotes for the items we discussed, Don also provided an alternative option for the patio door - instead of a more expensive fiberglass French patio door, he also provided a quote for a more economical Pella vinyl-clad sliding door. I spent the next few weeks collecting proposals from other companies and doing further research on manufacturers. At the end of the process, the prices and expertise from my top three contractors were all very competitive with each other. Ultimately, the factors that led me to go with NWD were (1) I liked the features of Provia the most, plus more positive reviews on the Internet vs Therma-Tru, and (2) NWD's quote was all-inclusive, whereas other contractors stipulated additional time/materials charges if unseen damage was found and had to be repaired during the installation process. After notifying Don of my choice, he drew up a detailed agreement covering every detail of each door, with an expected install date of between 5 and 6 weeks out. Turns out that Provia builds their doors to order, rather than stocking them in inventory. Don estimated that the installation would likely take 2 days with 2 installers. Exactly 5 weeks later, they called me to let me know that my doors had arrived, and scheduled the installation for the following day starting at between 8am and 8:30am. The next day, the installation crew of 3 technicians and Don showed up promptly at 8am. After going over the plan with me, the crew immediately went to work, first on the two back doors. These guys were all business, not wasting any time but not rushing either. They just did their job in a very professional, workmanlike manner, for 8 straight hours with nothing more than a couple of brief breaks! They had an impressive array of equipment layed out in the yard - much more than I would have thought necessary for replacing doors. By 1pm, they completed the two back doors and the set about on the front. Don returned at about 4pm to check in with the crew, and said he'd come back the next day for a final inspection. The front door was finished by 5pm. Overall, I was very pleased with the quality of the doors and the installation. It really exceeded my expectations. The fit and finish was flawless, such that there's real sense of precision when opening and closing the door, kind of like on an expensive car. I especially appreciated how thorough Don was in ensuring that I was satisfied with every detail of the installation.

A perfect job from start to finish. Every part of this project went smooth and without a hitch. The two men that did the work were polite and very careful inside our home. Everything was covered with a tarp and protected and they cleaned and vacuumed up any debris from the job. The installation was top notch. Membrane wraps and low expansion foam and I watched them use a level on each window to ensure it was going in perfectly. The aluminum wrap outside looks great. Don the owner was informative and always on time. I could not have asked for a better job. Totally satisfied with the quality of work and product.

The crew arrived on time. They took great measures to protect the flooring and furniture within our home. They did a beautiful job installing the windows and even touched up the paint on the wall around the new windows. All members of this crew were respectful and completed the job in a timely manner. Don appeared to be honest advising us when some items did not not need updating. He was willing to work with us within our budget. We asked Don to do additional work and they made the time to work it into their busy schedule while they were here without complaint. Don stopped by to make sure the work was completed to our satisfaction. We are very happy the quality of the windows and the quality of the installation.
