Dilyan was the carpenter who was sent to do the work. He was on time, tidy and did a fantastic job. The kitchen cabinet hinges were in varying states of disrepair and needing adjustment or replacement. He took the time to explain what he needed to do and why and was both pleasant and professional in his approach. He was extremely thorough paying great attention to detail. At the end of the day all of the cabinet hinges are working properly, the doors are aligned and I am a very satisfied customer. I will be calling this company in the futue when I need carpentry work done.

Hinwood did an excellent job from start to finish. Many of the cabinet makers I contacted didn't really want our job. We just wanted some cabinets in our pantry to match the existing cabinets in our kitchen. Compared to your typical kitchen remodelling job, ours was too small and probably fairly annoying. We needed someone to match our existing cabinets, rather than install all new stuff. And the pantry has granite countertops and some fairly weird little pocket spaces which had to be worked out. Lucy, Dilyan and their crew took to the job with total professionalism. They were patient with us during the planning stages, and around my wife's busy schedule. They helped us work on creative solutions for the peculiar space. The quoted us a good price. And when we were finally ready to pull the trigger, they worked quickly and provided a very high level of quality. We love our new pantry! Thanks to Lucy, Dilyan and the Hinwood crew!

I am so glad we had Hinwood take care of our kitchen remodel. We initially thought that installing the cabinets wouldn't be that big of a deal, but after watching these guys work, I realized we were so not ready to tackle this job. I ordered all of the cabinets from Home Depot ahead of time as well as all of the appliances so that everything was on site, ready to go. They did the demo in half a day and then started the prep. There was a finish carpenter there to scribe the filler panels to the walls for a tight fit, and they worked really hard to make sure everything looked as seamless as possible. There were a couple of issues that came up, but they always talked to me about which solutions I wanted. I also worked with Lucy, Dilyan's wife, to select my countertops. This was a tedious process because I wanted to find an unusual granite in my price range that was grey with minimal speckling. We went to look at the granite 3-4 different times to try to find the right piece. Once we found it, they coordinated the fabrication and installation. The fabricator made a mistake when he was cutting the granite, and the only way to salvage it was to put in a backsplash which I hadn't planned to do. I was planning on putting tile for the backsplash at a later date. The fabricator was very apologetic and fabricated the backsplash and installed it at no cost to me. I have a lot of experience with construction so I know that things never go perfectly, so it's so nice when you work with people who take accountability for their mistakes and work to make things right. I have found that Dilyan and Lucy at Hinwood use subs who will work hard to remedy any mistakes that are made. At the end of this job I asked Dilyan how much he would have charged to fabricate my cabinets. His price was within $500 of Home Depot's price for my cabinets. I REALLY regret not having Dilyan build my cabinets because there are seams and quality issues that I wouldn't have with Dilyan's workmanship.

This was a really great experience from start to finish. I went through all of the aspects of the job with Dilyan (the owner), before we started anything, and I could tell he was really thoughtful and experienced. He could foresee problem areas and talked through how we wanted things to go. He gave me an estimate within a couple of days, and then his wife contacted me to work out getting the tile, amounts, and finish details. I was always notified ahead of time when workers were going to come, and I worked with the tile layer to get the pattern just the way I wanted it. There were a couple of things that they needed to come back to touch up like the grout and some silicon and a little polishing on the marble, and they were timely and thorough with the touch ups. Dilyan and his wife are honest and communicative, and the bill was true to the estimate. 641

We were very pleased with the entire process. Diliyan came out for the initial estimate and sent it over in a couple of days. Once we decided to go with Hinwood, Diliyan came over with his wife to get measurements and go over the details of the design we wanted for the cabinets and the kitchen. Diliyan needed approximately 6 weeks to construct the cabinets and throughout that time we met with his wife Lucy to pick out tile for the back splash and floor. She also met with me a couple of times to give samples of the stain for the cabinets, even at work a few times where it was convenient for me. Once the process started Diliyan came over with four people that worked for Hinwood. They spent a couple of days removing everything then for the next week or so one guy showed up each day to do the tile. This took the longest. After the tile was finished there was normally at least two workers here each day working on the kitchen. As the tile was put in and the back splash time arrived, Lucy came over to help us pick out grout color. Overall the project ended up taking a couple days longer than estimated. There were a few issues (chips and dents in the walls) that popped up because of the construction but as soon as I asked Diliyan about it they were fixed. Also throughout the construction, Diliyan would make sure he spoke to me each day in person or on the phone to let me know what the plan was for the next day and how the project was going. Everyone was very friendly and respectful of our home. We will definitely use them again for future projects!

Our experience was great. We received prompt feedback and updates throughout the process. Dilyan is an amazing woodworker and created a beautiful custom vanity and storage system. All work was done with quality and cost in mind - especially if you are willing to get involved in the process with Lucy. She will take you around until you get a great deal on quality materials. We will definitely be calling on Hinwood again for our next remodeling project.

We love working with Hinwood. We've already completed four house projects with them over the last 5 years. The work is of premium quality whether you are looking for furniture grade interior elements or something of a more massive scale like our deck. Dilyan and his team are skilled, prompt, courteous, professional and quick. We found out about his work through a recommendation of friends and he's become quite popular within our circle. I'm looking forward to the next chance to work with him......his team has made a beautiful difference in our home.

Outstanding quality of product and installation. Complete remodel down to the studs. New drywall, doors, electrical, plumbing and fixtures, porcelein and wood flooring, New crown moulding, chair rail and wainscoating. 25" of laundry and office custom built cabinetry. Site left clean each day and all the workers were professional and accomodating. Highly recommended.

He was very late when he came out. I had an appointment to go to and I missed that appointment because I was waiting for him to come. I had him and someone else and I decided to go with the other service provider just because of the punctuality. I thought that the other provider was more punctual. His quote was reasonable. It was competitive with the person that I actually went with. The overall experience was very good. I went to his workshop and saw the quality of his work and everything. I think punctuality of a contractor is very important.

This was a huge renovation and took four months from start to finish. We began with demolition...knocking out the walls that had divided the kitchen, living room and dining room in our 1965 raised ranch house in the suburbs. Contractor used a certified structural engineer to verify structural integrity before removing walls; we received his stamp of approval. They gutted the kitchen including removing the soffit, and main bathroom in the hallway, and later removed the entire staircase at the front door and rebuilt it. In the kitchen, we moved the sink and dishwasher from a wall to the newly created island; moved the stove a couple feet down, moved the refrigerator. Installed all new kitchen cabinets including crown molding and bottom trim, some of which required intricate angle cutting due to corner cabinet and changing ceiling height. Installed all new appliances, including running a water and drain line to the fridge for the water/ice dispenser. Installed recessed lighting in kitchen, living room and hallway; spotlights over one counter top for accent; cabinet lighting above and below cabinets; pendant lights over the island, and new chandelier over table. Electrical was subcontracted, but general contractor did all communication with us. Installed granite counter tops; overseen by GC. In the bathroom, we fully gutted the room, removed the tub and replace it with a stand up shower with built in bench, all tiled beautifully. Installed beautiful glass shower door and side wall. Moved the sewage pipe over about 6" for better fit and installed new toilet. Contractor custom built our new vanity, complete with dovetail construction drawers, good quality wood (no particle board!) and slow close drawers/doors. It is a 60" vanity, has 2 sets of 4 drawers and 2 doors under sink, for about $600. Also replaced a swinging door with pocket door to save on space in this small, 5' x 8' bathroom. Granite counter top, tiled back splash, upgraded lighting with sconces and recessed lighting and fan/vent. Bamboo floors installed in entire main level...3 bedrooms, hallway, kitchen, dining room, living room and staircase. New railing installed...stained wood posts and iron balusters. Crown molding installed in living room, dining room, hallway. Paint, of course. Price noted above covered labor and roughing-in materials. I paid separately for finish materials. Although there were several subcontracted professionals working on the job, the contractor over-saw every step of the process. He communicated with us daily about what was accomplished and what's coming next. He asked our opinions frequently to make sure we were getting everything we wanted. He would stop the job if there was a problem and not move forward until it was fixed. Example: the nails and nail gun for the floor were not strong enough for bamboo, so he stopped the work and we had to wait a few days for the right materials to be ordered, but in the end the floor was finished properly. He is very detail oriented, meticulous and takes his time to think through each situation. He came up with some good ideas that even my interior designer hadn't thought of. Example: there was dead space in the corner of the island...the cabinet designer said there was nothing that could be done about it. I'm talking about an area that is approximately a 3 ft. cube...that's a lot of storage area when you're short on space. The contractor custom built a cabinet to match the kitchen cabinets, with two pull out shelves. I'm able to store all kinds of kitchen gadgets in there....bread maker, stand mixer, large pots, etc. He came up with that great solution. The quality of his work is very professional, including the custom cabinetry.

Overall, a very good experience. I would call this contractor first for the next job. I have referred him to several friends/family and they have all been satisfied. See above narrative for details.

Hinwood Remodeling I have used many times both personally in my own home and for my clients as an interior designer. The owner is a fantastic cabinet maker and does very beautiful work in addition to being a very professional, honest and hardworking general contractor. The finished product is always very good. I've done a total of 6 bathrooms with them (2 of them in my own home) with custom cabinetry, high-end tile and woodwork. They never dissapoint. I've also done built-in custom bookshelves with them for two other clients, including in my own office.
