Prompt service and excellent work. The repair was done the same day we called. Very professional results.

We arranged with the company to repair two broken garage doors for us at $95 each. They supposedly went to the properties, but never completed any work and then stopped responding to calls / voicemails for 2 weeks.We were then left in a bad position of angry tenants because no work was done, and uncertainty around hiring another contractor because we didn't know what was going on with Bob's. I am very disappointed in their communication and lack of service, and would not use or recommend them.

We heard the spring pop on the garage door while eating breakfast! It was an odd sound, and we (at first) had no idea what it was. When I was ready to run our Saturday errands, I discovered the garage door wouldn't open, I couldn't lift it manually (wooden doors are HEAVY), and nobody was home to help. I was stuck without a car. When I called Bill's, he was over in less than 30 minutes and fixed everything. He was prompt, professional, reasonable (I think), and everything works great! I would use them again in a heartbeat.

We decided that rather than spend money on a unit that was over 15 years old it was better to have it replaced. We rescheduled a day for installment and Bill followed through with everything promised. He also took the time to carefully explain and demonstrate the functions to us as we are very non-mechanical. Bill was professional is all that he did and we feel that we can call him with any questions in the future. Thanks so much to both Bill and Bill senior !!

The technician was early for appointment, very professional, and overall had no pressure of trying to sell me a new garage door opener even though mine is many decades old - he said it is basically running fine. Service was great - I would definitely refer to others and use them again as needed. They gave 1 year warranty on repair so any more issue just call and they will come back asap!

I called Bill from work so i didn't have the unit in front of me, I guesstimated early nineties for the problematic garage door opener and he quoted me to replace the broken parts. After I informed him my unit didn't have the light sensors to check for obstructions he gave me fair warning that my model is now so old that electronics are impossible to replace for it if they break down. He suggested replacing instead, which I agreed because I want the sensors and I don't want to pay twice. I also asked him to replace the keypad for another door which has been problematic, which they did at cost. Bill Jr and uncle came out to do the install which they did very quickly. Great service. Because it was non-emergency and I am retired, I gave him flexibility. He called and kept me informed right up until this morning when he was ahead of schedule. Excellent professional and courteous service. Price was as quoted, no surprises at all.

Great service and responsiveness. called at 8am, they were at the house by 9:30am same morning! Garage door is quiter and obviously operates much better. The only negative was they were earrlier than expected (if that is a bad thing), surprised my wife. Highly recommend and will use again.

I came home on a Monday night from work and my garage door would not open. First thing Tuesday morning I went to Angies? List and searched for garage door repair contractors. I found Bills Garage Door Service and called them. Ten minutes later they called back and had someone over to fix the door in five minutes. Total time from my initial call to completion of service was one-hour! I did have an advantage because it turns out they are only one-block away from my house but their fast response was greatly appreciated. I would use them again and highly recommend them.

Our garage door broke with my car stuck inside it. I left a message for Bill (owner) at 10 p.m. and by 8 a.m. had a call back and an appointment for the same day. He then called back and notified me he had moved his schedule around to be able to com rout even sooner for me. How nice! His son Bill came out and diagnosed the problem immediately and fixed it. he also took some extra steps to insure the issue would not happen again. I highly recommend this company!

The young man arrived about 15 minutes early. Looked at the broken spring. Asked if I wanted to replace just the broken spring or both. Gave me quotes for changing just the broken spring and for both. Answered all my questions. Absolutely no pressure to replace the unbroken spring. I opted to do it anyway preventatively. He was friendly and professional. He finished in about 30 minutes. Explained their warranty and told me to call right away if there were any issues.

awesome. as the garage door opener is over 20 years old, i was prepared to purchase a new garage door opener and was talked out of doing that as there was nothing wrong with the garage door opener that i had. Shocking!! garage door opener is now working better than it ever did and i am a huge fan of Bill's Garage Door Service. And they are local for me which is another plus. Bill and Bill Jr. Really came through for me the were on time fair and honest when they chafed the door seals and completed a tune up of my three doors. The next day I backed out right into the middle door and ruined it. I call Bill late in the day and he drove clear across the area to help me out. Great Service. I am really happy with the and now they are going to install three new doors due to my error. Oh well I know they will do a great job. Will keep you posted.

When I called Bill last week and explained what was needed he knew which doors I was looking for and gave me a competitive price right away. He came out to measure on Monday and had the doors in stock Monday night. Based on my schedule Bill Jr. arrived on time Wednesday morning and cleared the garage for me (I was planning to help but he was nearly done when I realized he was here). He then worked through a series of thunderstorms to get the new doors installed and was done exactly as predicted. The doors looked great, Bill Jr. cleaned up all the debris he created and hauled away the old doors. This is the second time I have used Bill's and I remain thoroughly happy with them.

It went really well. This is the second time I used this company and they did an awesome job again. The guy showed up looked at my garage door, told me what was wrong within 5 minutes and fixed it in about an hour. He also tweaked my settings for the garage door opener so it would go up and down smoother.

Outstanding experience. Bill is responsive, down-to-earth, and knows what he's talking about. His practical advice and experience result in a wonderfully easy, headache-free professional service. We moved into an old home with a beyond ancient garage door. Bill was prompt in scheduling an appointment to come out and see the place, and he advised us very competently on door options. He gave us all the information we needed, responded punctually and without any heavy sales pressure to our multiple phone calls and our exploration of different options. Once we decided what we wanted, Bill placed the order (and planned around the holiday weekend in doing so - thinking ahead!), and we sat back and watched as Bill and his crew competently and seamlessly (to us) installed our brand-new door a few weeks later. Excellent experience!

Needed a spring replaced on garage door. An employee from Bill's showed up promptly the next day and quickly made the fix. Great job.

They were able to come out on the weekend and did it in no time. Good communication as well.

It took about 1 1/2 hours and he said to call if I needed to ask anything or had any problems. I have used his services before and he is definitely someone to keep on your list to call. He was very prompt in his response and he came out the next day.

Excellent! I was expecting to need a new garage door opener, but Bill was able to repair the damaged part. He also replaced 5 worn out rollers, lubricated and adjusted the opener. It works like new now.

They did a great job and everything was done as promised.

We would certainly use Bill's Garage Door Service again.

Fantastic experience, I called and they came out the same day to inspect my broken opener in mundelein, determined that it could not be repaired (it was very old) and the same day had a new unit and installed it, including two remotes and they installed the door sensors that my old system lacked. Just awesome. Also, a huge plus for a family operation, and they were so awesome with my huge dog who supervised the work! I actually just referred my co-worker to Bill's today, and realized I had never written this review. Bills promised to be out to Hawthorn Woods within a few hours, even in this Polar Vortex. I'm glad I knew of a great business to recommend, Bills is making me look good!

I came home on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to find my garage door would not open. I found Bill's information here, and called leaving a message. Bill returned my call on Friday morning around 8:00. He was professional and helped me quickly understand what it would take to repair my garage door. He gave me a quote to replace the broken spring and then recommended that we replace the second spring at the same time. This would prevent me making a second call in the near distant future. That additional cost was only for the hardware since his team would already be on site. He gave me a window of time they would arrive and that the entire repair would take less than an hour. He team arrived early, and quickly repaired the door. They were professional and cleaned up the garage as if they were never here. Although I do not hope to need to call Bill again soon, it is a comfort knowing he is close by, and his responsiveness is exceptional. Fully encourage anyone in need to give him a call, you will be glad you did.
