I was very impressed with American Asphalt from start to finish. It was clear that I needed to repave my driveway; it was 22 years old and in really bad shape. I started to investigate the process in the Summer of 2012 - even to the point of getting a building permit - but for a number of reasons was not able to execute the project. So I called Orlando again in the Spring of 2013 and requested a new proposal. I also requested proposals for each of the six houses on our cul-de-sac because everyone had expressed an interest in paving their driveways. Orlando came out the same day I called, and delivered proposals to each of us - AND, he was generous enough to offer the same price as he had offered last summer. Additionally, Orlando offered discounts if we were able to contract for three or more driveways, given the efficiencies of doing multiple driveways at a single time. It took our cul-de-sac a few months to get our act together (about which Naomi was more than patient!) but we finally had the work performed yesterday. In fact, Rob was able to get the Village inspector out early, so he was able to complete the project in a single day instead of the standard two days. Our driveways look absolutely beautiful! American Asphalt will also call to remind us when it's time to seal our driveways one year from now, so as to prolong the life of the asphalt. Additionally, they have a wonderful program, enabling you to select one of three charities for which they will make a $20 donation - it requires no money from the customer! All-in-all, I was extremely impressed with everyone from American Asphalt, and will definitely recommend them to any of my friends needing their service.

They were excellent. They were on time and did a good job. They went above and beyond just to make sure we were satisfied. They added thicker asphalt to some areas. They were very efficient, pleasant and accommodating. I feel like it was a great quality. It looks really good.

Have been using this company for at least 15 years including removal and installation of new asphalt driveway about 6 years ago. One of the major complaints about this company is that they don't always return phone calls which requires me to call them several times before I get a response. I live in Mundelein where they are located, and we have been a customer for so many years, you would think that they be better about getting in contact with you. This last time I had to call twice, to get any kind of a response. 9-20 -13: The driveway is now showing large cracks running down it's length. The same thing happened last year and we were told it was because of the excessive heat. They had to come out and fill those cracks for which they charged $49. There was no excessive heat this this and the driveway is doing the same thing. They are apparently not using enough of the sealer when they do the job. I expect to be charge again for them having to come out and fix it again.

I received an estimate by phone call. I was really impressed with their honesty and advise concerning our driveway. I can't remember who I talked to (so sorry) but he was professional and friendly. He pointed out possible problems with how the driveway drained and also advised to wait a year then do the whole driveway. Our drive way to really long and leads to two garage so this is a major expense for us. I will heed his advise and the extra year will enable my husband and I to save up more money. The section we wanted to redu would have been 3800.00 and the whole driveway in the area of 8K so his advise of waiting was almost a relief. We will use them in 2014 to replace our driveway.

We have received bids from four different reputable companies. American Asphalt provided the most competitive one. The process went smoothly. After we received a permit from the village, American Asphalt completed the job in several days. The crew was very prompt, efficient, professional, and courteous. We are highly pleased with their service and highly recommend them.

I called and asked for a quote on a new driveway. The office staff (Naomi) was very courteous and helpful. I received a quote in a timely manner. We scheduled the work when I received my permit from the village. The crew showed up on time and removed the existing driveway. American Asphalt Maintenance called the village to arrange an inspection. The village inspector came out that day and approved the base. American Asphalt returned the next day to lay the new driveway. The work and my interaction with people at American Asphalt exceeded my expectations. I would use this contractor again and I would recommend them for someone looking to replace and asphalt driveway.

Orlando came and provided us with estimate and told us we needed to get a permit from the city. Once that was secured we could proceed with work. The workmen arrived promptly at 7am (as promised), got to work and were clean and thorough. They explained what they were going to do and did a great job doing it. Came back two days later (one day of tearing out driveway, another day they poured the asphalt) to finish the job. Arrived before they were expected (which was fine), poured a beautiful new driveway. We could not be happier. Thank you!

They were easy to work with. Very responsive with an estimate in a timely manner. Explained the costs in detail. Estimate was very competitive to other estimates. I choose them based on reputation, professionalism, and cost. They arrived at the time I was quoted the day before. Were fast, efficient and done in 2 hours. I have a long and wide driveway that would fit about 8-9 cars on it. They did a fantastic job. They did a great job on cleaning up the work area. You could not tell in my yard or street that they had completely tore up my current driveway and put down a completely new surface. Would highly recommend.

Our driveway was 22 years old and needed replacement. I found American Asphalt on Angie's List and went to American Asphalt's website to gather information. After reviewing the information I decided to request a quote on a new driveway and used their request form on their website. I was contacted by Orlando Morin of American Asphalt a few hours later and he came out that evening and gave me a written estimate. We had already received an estimate for another company and found American Asphalt and the other bid to be within $100.00 of each other. I was impressed with the American Asphalt's website and promptness in responding to my request and decided to go with the American Asphalt bid. I called their office and was told I would need to check with my Village to see if I needed a building permit- which I did. I applied for the permit and received a permit and re-contacted American Asphalt and they scheduled us for a prompt removal of our old driveway. After the Village inspected the site for the new driveway and approved American Asphalt's work, American Asphalt came out the next day to install the new driveway. They had a crew of about 8-9 members and installed our driveway in a very organized and professional manner. This installation took about an hour. Upon completion Robert Morin the Owner-Operator met with me and asked if I had any questions and gave me "Your New Driveway" manual which answered all the questions that might arise. I paid him by check (credit card is an option) and found the work site to be totally neat and clean. I was very happy with Robert and his team and would absolutely use them again!

The service was excellent. We had no problems. They gave me really good information on how to maintain the driveway.

Nice lady on the phone, but they didn't install my driveway, so they will not seal it.

When I called to schedule an appointment they were able to schedule me two days later. The crew was on time and very efficient. The whole job was completed in 2hrs and all the paperwork was in order, no discrepancies in what I was quoted from what I was charged. Our driveway is beautiful and has held up well so far. Instructions for care were clear and easy to follow. I would definitely recommend them in the future.

They came out quickly to provide a quote. Met me so I could show them where I wanted the driveway widened. They did a drawing that I was able to use when applying for the permit with the village. Their initial price was close to other bids, just slightly higher. I was more impressed with their professionalism, so we negotiated and they wound up slightly beating my lowest other bid. The work was done promptly and professionally. Passed village inspection with flying colors. The new driveway looks great, adding to the "curb appeal" of the home. Has held up well so far, but of course its only been a few months. We'll see how it holds up over the winter!

My neighbor had his drive done by another company and I requested an estimate from them, then we found a coupon for American Ashphalt so checked both companies on Angie's List and to see if listed with Better Business Bureau. The other company's estimate was almost $1000 more and not listed with either Angie's List or BBB. I called American and the woman took my info and said someone would be out. I received a call that afternoon as he was at my house measuring and wanted to clarify exactly what I wanted for the sides. I applied and received the building permit from the village and scheduled the work. The first person arrived promptly at the expected 7AM then the rest of the crew soon after. They were extremely efficient and professional and very careful around our existing landscaping on both sides of the driveway. They completed the job quicker than estimated and answered any questions I had and also handed me a booklet of guidelines for using and caring for the new driveway. We, along with many of my neighbors, are amazed at how gorgeous and neat the finished driveway looks and I will definitely be recommending American Ashphalt to anyone who is thinking about replacing or repairing their driveway.

They arrived on time the first day and removed the old asphalt driveway and set in place the new gravel base. They then left and informed the village that the base was ready for inspection. It was inspected the same day and approved by the village. The next day they returned and installed the new asphalt driveway. They provided detailed instructions for the proper care of the new driveway and the number of days we needed wait before driving on it. We were very pleased with the proposal and the job they did.

My asphalt driveway had setted and cracked over the years and was in need of replacement. I received bids from 4 contractors and I selected American since they were the lowest bidder and had recieved favorable reviews on Angie's List. Rob and his team arrived on the requested date and promptly removed the old driveway, layed down new gravel and rolled the driveway. They returned the next day to lay the asphalt. I have a brick border along my driveway. The American team were very careful not to disturb the border. They were all very professional. I am pleased with the work.

Our long driveway was regraded and paved in one day. The office was very helpful with the permit process, and coordinated the Village inspection so we could have that one day service. The crew worked hard and was extremely polite. They saw my 83 year old mother park her car down the street, and walked over to her to help her park closer to our house.

I called for a quote this morning. Not only did Frank get out there to do the quote in the same day, but he personally called me to tell me he had noticed an issue with the septic tank in front of the house. He wanted to make sure I was aware of it! This is the first quote that I have received, but based on the favor that Frank did for me, I will definitely be inclined to use them. That is what I call great service.

Everything was fine and they were easy to work with.

They came out for an estimate. When I spoke with them after the estimate, he said that if we replaced the driveway he wouldn't have been able to guarantee that the same issues wouldn't reoccur. He suggested that we sealcoate and patch the cracks.

Intially I contacted four companies off Angies List to sealcoat my Drive Way. American Aspalt was my primary choice as they were local and I prefer to support local businesses. They responded back to me in less than 24 hours and I had an appointment set up to my two car driveway. Becasue of weather the first appointment was waved off. We set for a second day in which the work was completed. Upon drying a secation of the sealcoat appeared to not have taken or was thin. I contact the company back they responded immediately with an appointment to come out and inspect. they agreed that the areas in question were not correct and offered to re-sealcoat at that time. The went over the entire driveway a second time. The results were very positive. I would also note that American Asphalt subs the sealcoating out to another division/contractor of theirs.
