Perfect! The owner is a second generation asphalt professional with an amazing crew. Their office called and set up the appointment. The owner and his crew arrived and replaced the driveway neatly and efficiently. His crew has been with him for years, so everyone are experts at their jobs. The driveway is beautiful! They also leave you a booklet on how to best care for it. I highly recommend American Asphalt.

the office people were knowledgeable and efficient. I got a bid right away which was quite reasonable compared to other quotes. They came when they said they would. my driveway looks great. the material they use seems to be better than i have ever seen before. they even asked for my choice of charities that they donate a portion of my cost to. I made a great choice to hire AAM!

The crew showed up on time and immediately started to work removing the old drive. After removing the old asphalt they graded the crushed rock base to establish the proper grade for good drainage. After the village inspector approved the preparation, they returned the next day and laid the asphalt. Rob and his crew work like the experienced team they are, with attention to the details that make a superior final product. Our new driveway looks great and we're very happy with it.

Extremely positive experience from start to finish. They came out within 2 days to provide an estimate. I received estimates from two of their competitors, and they were $100 higher than one and $250 higher than the other. But the reason I chose to hire American Asphalt Maintenance and pay a little more was 1) the high number of positive online reviews compared to their competitors, 2) well established long time business with an actual physical address rather than a PO Box, 3) did not require 50% up front. The competitors had very few online reviews, do not provide a physical address, and require 50% up front. With American Asphalt Maintenance, I knew I was working with a well established business rather than a fly by night operation. They scheduled the tear out of my old driveway, arrived promptly, and told me what time they would be back the next day to pave. Communication was great. When they finished paving, the owner of the company himself, Robert Morin, came to my door to give me instructions for the care of my new driveway. I really liked that he was on the job site overseeing the work. I very highly recommend American Asphalt Mainenance Inc.

Office personnel and schedulers were great. I had requested a time frame so I could be home to inspect job upon completion. Crew was due between 12:30 and 2:30. I arrived home at 11:50 and job was done and not to my satisfaction. I had received a call a little after 11 AM while I was attending a funeral that morning saying they were on their way, so I called that number and told him of my concerns. He said they would come out the following week. The following week someone from the office called and said they could not come out that week but would come out the following Monday. They filled in a few places but, compared to neighbors' driveways that were resealed by other companies, it was not done as well. I am very disappointed because they did a great job in replacing the driveway and I've recommended them to others since. I think this will be the last time I call American Asphalt.

They did a beautiful job. They were professional and I would definitely use them again. I would recommend them to everybody.

Chose not to use them I belong to Angie's list for a reason. I called the company and told them I was interested in using their service and could I use the 100.00 dollar coupon from Angie's list and the gentleman laughed and said "the price was already low enough but I guess we can use coupon" I felt very embarrassed for even asking and his patronizing and condescending behavior changed my mind about using his company. He should have welcomed coupon and been professional and gracious about it and he wasn't . He lost a customer.

Just had a new driveway installed and it is beautiful. American Asphalt did a wonderful job. The owner and each of his men did a very professional job, also the office staff were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. They were here at the time they said, got to work right away and were very neat. I would recommend this company very highly.

My initial call for an estimate was handled professionally and courteously. The owner, Robert, came out the following day and left the proposal with my wife. They had the best estimate of those I received, and based upon the numerous glowing reviews of this company, I quickly accepted their proposal. After faxing in my signed proposal and building permit from my village, I promptly received a call the next day confirming receipt of my documents and was advised that I was on the books to be scheduled. I dealt with Marki and Naomi on the phone and they were both pleasures to do business with. My scheduled appointment got postponed twice due to prolonged inclement weather, and the courtesy calls were amazing. I have never had anyone apologize for the weather, which is obviously out of anyone's control, but they did! On Friday I received another courtesy call to advise me of an appointment for today (Monday) and the crew showed up on time as promised. I was not at home, but my wife texted me just before noon to let me know they had arrived and were already working diligently. I came home early from work at 2:15 to see a completely finished new driveway. I have to say that the driveway looks better than it did when we bought the house as a new construction 17 years ago. The workmanship is absolutely fantastic. The seams with the concrete apron, sidewalk and walkway are perfect and there is no mess from stray asphalt anywhere. I cannot find anything I can possibly complain about. All I have to do is to backfill a little topsoil along the edges, which is totally normal for this type of replacement. I cannot say enough about how happy I am with American Asphalt Maintenance and strongly recommend them for your paving needs. I will certainly contract them again for any future paving needs. American Asphalt put an new Driveway on 5/7/2015. During winter I saw the driveway has "swelled up" near the garage. I contacted the company on 1st week of April about the issue as the work is under warranty. After taking message they told me that "Frank" will contact you regarding this issue. I was calling regularly for 2 weeks to get hold of a somebody who would address my issue. At last after 3 weeks their guy "Frank called me and told me that he would get back to me after taking a look of my Driveway. All though my property is few blocks from his office he never called back till now to tell me what American Asphalt is going to do about my issue. I am tired of calling them and leaving them message to call me back. I think they are trying to wean the warranty period and go bad on the warranty. I do not know much about paving and gave this job to American Asphalt based on the reviews here. Now it looks like that they did not do their job properly but are Dishonest also.

They were prompt and did a terrific job. Their cleanup was perfect. They were great on the phone with all my questions and they helped me through the village permit requirements. This company puts the customer first and I would recommend them to anyone interested in having the job done right, on time, with no hassles.

One of our biggest concerns was the drainage of the driveway. It is a long driveway and there is not a lot of slope to work with. Getting it wrong would mean water either draining toward the foundation of the house or into the garage or possibly water sitting (and in the winter freezing into slippery patches) on our driveway. Robert Morin, the owner, came out to give us a quote. He listened to our concerns and assured us it would be taken care of correctly. Many times Robert is out with his crew doing the paving and this was the case for our driveway. He and his crew were on time, quick and professional. The driveway looks beautiful but most importantly it drains correctly. We are thrilled. We received quotes from other companies but we are glad we went with American Asphalt Maintenance.

The owner contacted us quickly and came out to provide an estimate. He was on time and very professional, for which he deserves an A. The reason for the B in the review is the fact that they turned down the job because he was worried he could not do it right with our drainage. For a company that advertises '40 years' of experience, I was disappointed that they would not even provide an estimate. It made me feel as if the job is not 'easy' they are not interested. We had another company come out and scoff at the drainage issue saying the other company must not need the business. The 2nd company took the job and our drainage issue was solved...and we have a great new driveway. I respect the old adage that not all business is good business, but again, was disappointed in this company.

I had a very good experience with American Asphalt. They promptly responded to my request for a quote which I ended up accepting. They called a few days before the job was to be completed and said they would start at 7 am. They showed up on time and proceeded to complete the job in just over 3 hours. They did a nice job in edging the asphalt to the landscaping and making sure the asphalt was flush to the concrete garage floor. I would definitely use them again in the future if the need arose.

Our driveway was in severe need of replacement. We got an estimate from American Asphalt and decided to proceed with them. They showed up at exactly the scheduled time to remove our driveway. They were in and out in an hour. The next day they laid the new driveway and it looked great. Overall phenomenal service.

At first, I was going to hire a competitor's company. I reached out to American Asphalt Maintenance for another bid. I spoke with the owner, Robert, directly. He focused on educating me as to the differences between asphalt companies and the product they used. He did not mentioned any other company by name as he is very professional. Instead, he pointed out why his company, a family business, excels at what they do. I began to understand why the first bid was a little lower, but since a complete driveway tear off should last decades, I was not about to quibble over a few dollars for superior materials. As the homeowner, I needed to get a building permit from the city and I was walked through the process by Naomi in their office. She was very patient and knowledgable, as I had never been through the permit process before. Her patience continued as I had a plethora of questions prior to the start date. Thank you, Naomi! The work began as scheduled and finished ahead of time. All concerns and questions were addressed immediately since Robert was on site at all times. The workmen were focused and obviously knew what they were doing. The driveway is smooth, graded, and now enhances the appearance of my home. As a bonus, at the end of the work, I was informed that the company makes a donation to one of several charities of my choice as a way of giving back. I would not hesitate to use American Asphalt Maintenance for the annual routine sealcoat process and I whole heartedly recommend their professional and ethical services,

We knew our driveway needed to be replaced when we moved in to our home. We got names of several reputable companies on Angie's List and after meeting with a few representatives, we decided to go with American Asphalt. We met with Frank who was a great salesperson to work with. He had a lot of knowledge and solutions to repair and fix the pitch and state of our driveway. Frank told us the job would be completed over 3 days: American Asphalt would first excavate the existing blacktop, they would bring extra gravel to both fill and repair 3 soft spots and to repitch the drive for water to flow away from the garage and down the drive, finishing with a 2-1/2" asphalt pave. Frank told us that we needed to hire a landscaping company to come out and grade a swale in the lawn to assist with the drainage of water prior to starting the job. He also said that we needed to pay an additional $219 for the permit. We agreed, signed the paperwork and provided a down payment of $1900. We were called and given a start date that was 6 weeks away after we signed and gave the down payment. Frank came to our home once more to mark the lawn with paint to show the landscaping company where he wanted corrections made to the grade of our lawn. Everything was smooth up until this point. In the days prior to the install, someone from the office showed up to give us the permit to display. Then came the day the job was supposed to happen. Several American Asphalt dump trucks arrived at my home around 11 AM. The owner, Robert, arrived with about 8 to 10 employees waiting. He asked me to open the garage doors. He made a phone call, was really loud, yelling and walking up and down the driveway. He got off the phone. He went to his truck and grabbed a level. He picked it up, came back over by where we were standing on the driveway and placed the level around the driveway probably a dozen times. Robert said, "Your driveway is level." I asked him to show me. The locations he placed the level, the driveway was not level, it was off. Slightly pitched as it should be. I told him I don't see what he sees (it wasn't appearing to be level) and asked him what it was that he was trying to show me. He said, "You're an Angie's List customer?" I said yes. He said, "I'm not doing the job." I asked why? He said, "Because I will do your driveway and it won't pitch right and you'll give me a bad review and be calling me up asking me to redo the job and I'm not putting my name on this." I said, "I don't understand, Frank told me that you were removing the asphalt drive, making repairs and fixing the pitch and laying new asphalt." Robert said, "He doesn't know what he's talking about. I'm the owner. I'm out here and I do the work. I'm not in the excavation business. That's it. I'm not arguing with you and I'm not doing the job." He rounded up all his employees and left. I was floored. I was trying to have a calm, reasonable conversation with Robert so I could get an explanation as to what was happening. He was loud, he was aggressive and his physical behavior was intimidating. This company has a huge disconnect between the salesman that sold us on the job, who was great to deal with, and the owner, being part of the crew who was unable or did not want to actually do the job. This was an awful experience.

I used American Asphalt Maintenance Inc. because it got good reviews on Angie's List and I was very pleased. Everyone from the company with whom I interacted was professional, courteous and efficient. The prices were competitive and the quality of the work was excellent. We have been enjoying our new driveway for several months now and it is in great shape. I want especially to commend president Robert Morin and his staff for the extra consideration they gave me on this job, as I had a neighbor who was very sensitive about my driveway abutting his property. We had a new survey in hand and Robert and his crew paid extra attention and took the time to ensure that our driveway was placed absolutely correctly. Another neighbor even commented that she noticed how the crew was measuring everything carefully when she saw them working! We were extremely pleased with their work and would recommend them highly.

They did a fine job. It was a very efficient job and well organized. They're very well-known in this area. I don;t think we have any issues with the job. The price was competitive. They were not out of line with the others. They're very punctual and very professional.

It was very good. It went well. Office was very helpful in scheduling around the weather as well. I saw the neighbors driveway who used the same company and it looked great.
