Advanced Fence did a great job each day. Todd Kopke kept me informed as to when the material arrived and work was scheduled to start. The work crew arrived on time each day and worked diligently to complete the project. They cleaned up after each day’s work and left the work site in excellent condition. I would definitely use Advanced Fence and Gate again.

Advanced Fence & Gate installed 200 feet of fence over 2 days. This was a custom built fence they constructed on site. Todd was great through the whole process. He came out to give me a quote, took laser measurements, and went over the different fence styles, gate styles, gate hardware, and fence pole options. They were not the cheapest provider I received a quote from, but they were the only provider to offer a steel fence pole option. They use Master Halco PostMaster fence posts which are completely hidden by the fence. This provides a seamless fence, which is not broken up by post sections. I will also not have to worry about rotting or sagging wood posts in the future. This alone made it worth the additional cost for steel poles. The work crew was very friendly. They came out and I provided access to a water supply and an electrical outlet. Several times the crew would stop to ask me what my preference was for how the fence was constructed. My yard slopes away from the house on all sides and the gates and fence had to work with the "lay of the land". I was consulted on how high I wanted my gate to clear the yard, did I want a solid gate or "shadowboxed' gate, gate hardware, gate handle and hinges, and if I wanted a lock. On one side of my property the fence runs adjacent to me neighbor's existing fence. The crew hand build these sections on the ground, measuring and cutting each board, and then installed the custom built sections to run parallel to the existing fence. It took a lot of work and skill to put up this part of the fence. The crews even notched boards at the bottom to work around my large silver maple's tree roots that ran along the surface of the ground. They were very careful to not damage my tree or any part of the property. I have an easement on my property for utility access and the crew was able to work around this without damaging any of the the neighborhood cable or utility lines. I had lines running all over my yard and the crew did not hit anything that JULIE had marked. This is not easy task as lines can be 18 inches away in any direction from the marking indicator. The fence passed inspection by the village of Buffalo Grove without any issues. After the install, only 10 fasteners (out of hundreds) on the cedar fence were not mounted completely. Todd came back out and walked the fence and tapped every board to make sure they were secured. He also replaced any missing or pulled through fasteners to make sure the fence was secured. Overall this was a large project, having 200 feet of fence installed, but we went from getting quotes to having the fence up in less than a month. The crew that came out were definitely craftsmen. They built a beautiful fence and I was amazed at the level of quality I received and how fast it went up. Advanced Fence & Gate exceeded my expectations.

Every step of the way was great. On time, on budget, and the craftsmanship was top notch. Great front office too.

I called to ask for an estimate for a new 212 foot fence. There was no answer on my first call, so I left a message. Call back received a few hours later. Angie's List indicates that vendor has done work in communities on either side of mine, but rep stated that vendor does not service this area. Disappointed.

I contacted three contractors and the estimates were very similar. I chose Advanced Fence for several reasons: Todd was very responsive and patient while we were determining the exact dimensions. He provided us with several quotes with different specifications. We were concerned about the space between rails since we have a small dog and it took some time for us to make up our minds. What particularly impressed me was the information that came with the e-mail quote. Todd included insurance and warranty information, permit instructions, a contract and a list of references. The other two contractors took a long time to produce even a limited list of references. Finally, Advanced Fence had the best ratings on Angie's List among the three contractors. I also contacted 5 customers who all gave excellent references. The order was received within 3 weeks and installed the following week. They unexpectedly were short one rail and were back in two days to complete the installation. Overall, I was very satisfied with the installation and appearance of the fence.

It went great. They said it would take 2 or 3 days. They were able to get it all installed in 1 day! They were very professional. They also tore down our old fence and hauled it away for us.

We had a 50+ year old chain link fence in the front of our property that was extremely dated and half falling apart. We wanted to upgrade to something that fit in more with what our newer construction neighbors have. The product we chose was 5' ornamental steel, with quad finials, butterfly scroll enhancement, and arched gates. I got two estimates on the fence. Advanced Fence and Gate was the best price for the work we wanted. We also got an estimate from Tru-Link Fence for the exact same Ameristar Montage fence and that estimate was $300 higher. Tru-Link also told us that they would just "cut off" the old metal posts and "go right over them". Advanced Fence and Gate removed the old posts, and that seemed a lot more preferable than just going over them. Also, we have a wider main gate opening and a smaller gangway opening. Tru-Link told us they only had 4' wide gates. We thought that would look odd, as the one gate would really be too big for the smaller opening.. Fortunately, Advanced Fence and Gate knew enough about the product they were selling to know that the gates we wanted were available in both 4' and 3' widths. We worked with Todd, and he was great! He was very responsive to all our questions and issues. Thank you, Todd! The new fence and gates look better than we could have ever expected. I think we now have the best looking fence on the block. It's amazing how a new fence totally updated the look of our home! If we need more fence work in the future we would definitely use Advanced Fence and Gate again! This is an update to my previous post where I gave the company As in all areas. I still like this company and Todd the owner. But I’m downgrading the ratings a bit. The reasons being 1.) The latch on the front gate broke within a short time. I contacted Advanced Fence and Gate, but was simply told to buy a new one and replace it myself. The cost for a new latch was $50 to $60 at the time. I was okay with that because it’s just a latch and the fence itself looks beautiful. 2.) The installers had to remove my old fence and open holes for the new posts. I don’t know why, but when filling the holes for the posts, at the top two inches of the holes they used topping sand, or a very weak concrete solution, to complete the work. This cracked and completely fell apart after the first winter. Beneath the weak concrete is stronger concrete, so just the top two inches or so fell apart. For the three posts in the sidewalk, this was not good to look at, and it was also a tripping hazard. The ones in the grass just filled with dirt and their appearance was fine. Over the next summer I got out my masonry chisels and mallet, and pounded out enough of the filler around the three posts in the sidewalk to get deep enough holes to install actual concrete near the tops of the posts. That has held up and is fine as of this writing. I would hire Todd again. He knows his fences and was able to supply us with the right sized gate for our walkway when another company told use “they don’t make them in that size”. However, I am going to downgrade the rating a bit, for the extra work I had to do on the fence posts.

The sales representative, Todd, was prompt and professional. I was very impressed after the first meeting. I choose Advanced out of a total of four different fence companies submitting estimates. Their price was just a bit higher than two other outfits but I liked the way they agreed to work with me on installation and their promptness in answering my inquiries. On installation day the crew were very organized and worked with me during the installation process as there were a number of non-standard things about my installation. It was a tough job! I was very impressed with their work and attention to detail. They were very thorough in removing the old fencing and debris. This is a top-rated outfit that installs a great fence, and at a reasonable price. We love our new fence!!!

We chose them over other providers because of their knowledge. The crew is good at getting things done but sometimes felt they wanted to take the easier route vs. perhaps the better one albeit more involved if there was an issue or problem. However, Todd was great when he got involved with things to help trouble shoot. Overall, we were happy and would use them again.

The estimator was very prompt, helpful and attentive. the quote was received within 48 hours. The date of installation provided was never changed, and the crew was actually a little early. The crew leader checked with me on the details of the install before beginning and then checked with again at the conclusion to ensure that I was happy with the work. I would certainly us them again in the future.

Todd and his crew did a extremely professional job. They were efficient, took great care with all our planting and trees along the fence line and cleaned up after all of their work. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants an exceptionally beautiful and affordable fence.

They removed a privacy fence that was only a couple years old and that was not installed correctly and was not of the color I had requested. After removing that mess, they reinstalled a fence that two years later still looks like new. Additionally, the owner Todd Kopke was a joy to work with. He kept all his promises of time table and quality of work. I would definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone and everyone.

Advanced Fence started the installation of the fence within about 3 weeks of the award. The installation team was very courteous and thoughtful, cleaning up all debris daily, doing excellent work and performed the installation as quoted.

Todd and his crew did an excellent job. Todd came out and wrote up the estimate for us. We ended up wanting to change a few things and he was able to get me a revised estimate within a few days. He also was very responsive to all of my questions. Julio and Andy did a great job with the teardown and installation. They were hard-working, polite, and cleaned up after the work was complete. We are very happy with the new fence and would definitely recommend them.

Excellent construction - much better and more secure than the previous fence. Beautiful cedar and strong hardware. The crew came in the morning and stayed until the entire job was complete. Did a great cleanup job - no nails or trash left anywhere. Gave me detailed care instructions and were very personable. I would definitely use them again.

Back in 2011 Advance Fence installed a fence and gate for me. That job went very well. The harsh winter did a number on the gate. I scheduled a visit with Advance so they could look at the gate. I also wanted to get another estimate for a new 12' fence with a gate. Todd came by to look at the old gate and take measurements for the fence and prepare an estimate for me. He was prompt and very professional. He advised me that he would send his brother to repair the gate and email me the estimate for the new gate in a few days. As an Angie's list member I have tried to get 2 or more estimates. Todd got back to me the next day with a fair estimate. I told him I was waiting for 2 more bids on the fence. He advised me that if I did not go with Advance that they would still repair the gate at no charge to me. The other contractors did not show up due to the storms we had in August. Unfortunately our basement got flooded and we couldn't have the fence installed. I relayed this to Todd and he was very understanding about our situation. Todd did let me know that he would have his brother stop by and repair the gate. A few weeks later Chris came by and repaired the gate. He did a great job and the gate looks new again. I would call Todd again in the future for any fencing project. I highly recommend this company. Advance Fence is truly a customer oriented company

Robert came out and provided expert advice and suggestions for the best type of fence based on my criteria. I continually procrastinated between two different types of fence and Robert was always willing to take my calls and accommodate my changing mindset. The installation crew spent two days installing the fence and were extremely friendly, hard working and professional. They were able to install the fence in a shortened timeframe based on specific personal preferences I was thoroughly impressed with the service provided by Advanced Fence and Gate and I would definitely use them again. My neighbors and friends have all remarked on how good the fence looks.

All done in one day's work. Todd took care of the permitting. It looks great. I highly recommend.

Todd provided a very detailed professional estimate right on the initial visit. Worked with us and adjacent neighbor to obtain permit. Installers were very efficient and careful with the garden and property. Installation was exactly to specs. The fence looks great!

Robert arrived on time and took all the measurements for fencing my yard. He was prompt and professional as well as courteous. He met his commitment to provide me the estimate in addition to revising it somewhat. I eventually chose another service provider, however, I felt I needed to give my feedback on this company as well as Robert.
